I called about cancelling homeowners insurance on my mothers home. My mother passed away, and we are selling her home, so will no longer need insurance beyond the closing. I wasnt sure what the process would involve, so called the agent, Colleen. She was very short with me, no warmth and friendliness (most people at least say they are sorry when you mention that you lost a loved one and that is the reason for your call) -- which youd expect from someone who relies on building relationships to stay in business. Perhaps if I had been calling to become a new customer, I would have received more friendly treatment. When I sounded hesitant, she asked what was wrong -- I said I expected more friendliness. Colleen said, I answered your questions. I then asked if she knew my mother (her customer) and she said, no! It felt like I was bothering her. This would be a zero star review if it were possible!

I have been working with Community Insurance for over 40 years through all their transitions. The staff (I have been through 2 agents who have retired) have always been helpful and professional. I have home owners, car, and business insurance with them. They are fantastic!!

Ive had so many unexpected things happen to me and Community Insurance was with me 100%. We planned a party with about 200 guests. I called and got a million dollar liability rider just in case someone got injured, it cost almost nothing and was in place both before and after the party. Then my husband died suddenly, they were kind and gracious in handling changes. I got hit head on by a 16 year old who was texting. The insurance adjuster had a generous check for me before I even could pick up the rental car. They were there recently for me when high winds stripped off part of my roof. Service is prompt, courteous, and to me more than fair. I rate them 100%, they could not be better.

WATCH OUT FOR COMMUNITY INSURANCE. In October 2016, I PURCHASED a policy, and I paid in full for-- 12 months. I received a renewal bill a couple of months later. I called COMMUNITY INSURANCE because I had paid for the year. COMMUNITY INSURANCE said they contacted my insurance company, and the insurance company was incorrect. I received another notice from my insurance company, saying that my insurance would be dropped because of non-payment. I called COMMUNITY INSURANCE. The transmission didnt go through, I should ignore it. The 3rd time my insurance company called, I was being dropped, and I called COMMUNITY INSURANCE... they contacted me in March, 2017, saying my insurance was dropping me because of an accident in August 2016... UHH, before the time I purchased it. The problem is that COMMUNITY INSURANCE lied about my quote. The bills from my insurance were legit. Now COMMUNITY INSURANCE wants me to buy another insurance, and will credit the money that Ive paid FOR THE YEAR towards this new insurance.THIS SEEMS FAIR, except for my roommate, works for Allstate. She was surprised how cheap my insurance was after the accident. Allstate gives you 6 months to appeal any judgement. Ironically, my insurance was dropped 6 months after the accident. I DO have a repeal,but its too late. COMMUNITY INSURANCE was the cheapest quote, but will steal your money after they give you a bullshit quote that isnt valid, forcing you to go with a more expensive insurance company.In retrospect, Im not even sure why I went through a local company, considering the amount of time I put into contacting the insurance company.cc: Kelle Hertzog- who is the manger, that Ive called daily since March 24th.
