We were in recently for Wisdom Teeth consult on high school kid. This is our 2nd child to use this practice to remove wisdom teeth. Staff is friendly, efficient and got us in and out quickly, surgery scheduled, insurance explained, etc;Dr H was awesome. Very informative, and made my son feel very at ease. He answered his questions questions and mine.Lakeway location is super convenient.

I was referred to this office by a local dentist I just started seeing. The office was immaculate, people were really nice and organized. I was a last minute add and they were phenomenal. Prices were affordable, staff was patient and accommodating and made me my visit one of my favorites. No dental appointment is a favorite but this was for me. Thank you for your great service on a holiday weekend.

Our son had all four of his wisdom teeth removed and we could not be more pleased with the procedure and overall experience at Austin Oral Surgery. I had not met Dr Hunsaker before arriving for my appointment to have one of my molars pulled. It’s a bit scary to arrive at someone’s office knowing they are going to put you to sleep and hoping it will all go well. From the moment I met him, I was instantly put at ease.He is very reassuring and calming to talk to. He explained everything including why the molar needed to be pulled and the necessity steps to have an implant put in if I chose to. I was very relieved when he suggested that I be put to sleep for the procedure (as that is exactly what I wanted)! I don’t need to be awake to feel, hear and see them tugging away at a broken down tooth! No, thank you!The office was easy to find (right next to Taco Bell) and is very clean. His staff was knowledgeable, organized and reassuring as well. My surgery went very well and is healing nicely. In a few months, after this heals completely, I will be going back to have him implant a post for a future crown.You can not go wrong in choosing Dr. Hunsaker for your oral surgery needs. He is a gem and I’m lucky to have been referred to him!

About a year after a failed dental implant I moved to Austin. While I had confidence in my former oral Surgeon, I was very fearful of giving it another whirl. I was immediately comforted by the entire staffs professionalism and the caring and light hearted atmosphere. It says a lot when you can tell everyone loves their job. I had two molars pulled by Dr.Hunsaker and team .I was terrified of going to the dentist because i have sensitivities to numbing agents . Quick and easy process and very nice staff! Recovery went well - likely due to the detailed yet easy-to-follow instructions I was provided.

I had two wisdom teeth pulled, the experience was good as far as the pre-op and the actual surgery (I was put under). The reason for three stars is I had dry socket and it took me three days to get in to see the doc and have it treated. I called the location I had the surgery at and they couldn’t see me for a week. I ended up waiting the weekend and finally called a different location that Monday. If you have a procedure it should be easier to get in if you are having complications. Other wise everything else was good.

Actually the visit and execution of my tooth removal was excellent. I believe the actual tooth removal after numbing was just a few seconds, apparently a very easy pull with no surgery or complications. I felt the charge was excessive for no more time and labor was needed. I am not sure that I can keep paying $700 to $1,000 to have one tooth pulled unless it is complicated. But the pain and bleeding was minimal so the actual procedure was outstanding.

My daughter was a bit of a special case for , but Dr. Hunsaker was awesome and nothing but reassuring. He suggested doing the procedure at the hospital, yet assured us it was just precautionary. Surgery went great and healing was quick. Will definitely be back if we have other oral surgery needs.

My 90 year old mother had to have a tooth pulled & it was done in the office with minimal discomfort to her. There was very little residual pain and everything healed nicely.The office was efficient, the Dr. was very caring & explained everything in a down to earth manner & was very gentle with my mother.I would definitely recommend them.

My teenager had her wisdom teeth removed and the entire process from beginning to end was AWESOME! Their entire staff is amazing and talk you through the process with such compassion and care. I am a list person and there wasnt a question I had to ask because their office team and nurse staff covered every single thing I would have asked. And Dr. Cunningham is perfect! She was done in about 20 minutes and we were back at home within an hour. I wish it was like this back in my day ;-)

I had a ton of work done today. Two wisdom teeth removed, 4 baby teeth pulled then they had to expose and bond 4 adult teeth that were stuck in my face (I’m in my mid 30’s). They are the most competent, smoothly run office I have been to. My pain today without exaggerating is at a zero. I’m on a mixture of things NOT including Hydrocodone which I am excited about (I don’t like to mess with that stuff). I had 3 consultations at other oral surgeons until a friend highly recommend the Lakeway location of AOS who proved to be by far the best. Switching literally saved me over $2,000 out of pocket from any of the other quotes. The doctor himself explains everything in really good detail (without grossing me out), he personally did my IV for the sedation (I have terrible, tiny veins and he got it painlessly on the first try) and is really involved with the whole process which is so rare now. Every staff member is friendly and good at their jobs. There is not the typical doctor office “window witch” which was a nice surprise. I can not tell you how happy I am with my experience. I kind of feel silly I put this off for the last 20 plus years.

Dr. Cunningham did an excellent job! He removed all four wisdom teeth and an incisor in less than 30 minutes. I had minimal recovery time and was back to my normal routine in no time. Everyone who worked there were very helpful and polite. The entire process was a breeze.

Solid surgery and patient care

Dr. Hunsaker removed my wisdom teeth painlessly, and healing was quick and easy. The entire staff was kind and reassuring through the entire process.

My daughter was referred by her dentist to Austin Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to have her wisdom teeth removed. The dentist and his assistant were great - clearly very personable and competent. My issue is that, when we originally talked to the scheduling department to get a date on the calendar and discuss payment, she indicated that, although our health insurance was out-of-network, our dental insurance would serve as a secondary, and our total cost would be what I considered to be a reasonable deductible. However, on the morning of her appointment, we showed up and were told that we would need to pay about $2,400 for her procedure. The appointment was set and we were there, I didnt feel I could do much but pay. Clearly there is a lack of communication between the scheduling department and the office, as I certainly would not have paid four times as much for a procedure that was out-of-network, with a doctor with whom we had no previous relationship, when we already pay astronomical health insurance premiums. It felt like a bait and switch, and I dont recommend the office for that reason.

I was to have a root canal when I found out my tooth was cracked, and needed extracting. I called up my dentist to let them know, and they referred me to Austin Oral in San Marcos. The assistant let me know what all was going to happen and what Id feel. It sure put me at ease, as the last time Id had a tooth pulled was before braces at 11. Dr. Wildey was also very nice (as was the whole office!) and the whole experience was so pleasant and quick! I highly recommend them!!

Dr Cunningham was amazing. I was able to schedule a same day appt, because I was having a lot of discomfort due to a bone spur. He assessed my situation and immediately removed the spur. I am finally free of pain. I would give a 10 star rating if I could!

I had Dr. Cunnungham install two implants in my upper jaw. He also had to remove a broken root for one of them. I chose to have full sedation because its more comfortable. I have never had a dental experience that was this good. I had absolutely no discomfort after the operation. I took a couple of ADVIL on the way out of his office, and then skipped the rest of the pain meds! Plus his staff is very friendly and professional. What a great exoperience.

I was scared to death of having 4 wisdom teeth taken out. I’ve avoided having it done for decades. Dr. Hunziker was my doctor and he had me in and out in 30 minutes or so, even with anesthesia given. I have little pain today, the day after, but only mild discomfort.
