Recently moved here and we needed a new family eye doctor. The whole office is knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend!

Dr. Holtman was just great! Very through, personable, and explained things well. The office also has strong covid protocols in place, I felt very comfortable. They send a link ahead of the visit so you can fill out paperwork online. This is a great idea, but the app itself leaves some things to be desired. For example, it requires you to acknowledge contact fitting and you cant opt out. It also doesnt submit anything unless you do everything.

I was very happy with the experience. Everyone was knowledgeable and personable. This was my second eye exam and glasses purchase and will be a repeat customer.

My wife and I were seen very quickly and were treated with much care and help. The first eye doctors office that Ive been to where the employees actually help you pick out a pair of glasses thatll look good for your face type and style.

I was SO disappointed with this place. It started the day before my wife’s appointment when they called her and asked her insurance info, and when they didn’t understand her giving her Blue Cross #, and when I tried to interject so they could understand, they still told me her coverage didn’t exist. We then had to call her HR department and have them clear it all up. That’s just the beginning: when we arrived (due to Covid 19) we were supposed to have the paperwork all filled out that was never emailed or text to us. We tried to fill it out in the parking lot via text, and it was rejected; stating that her birthdate didn’t match any scheduled appointment.We finally get in the door and fill out the paperwork the old fashioned way. My wife said the exam was very professional and the doctor was super nice. The first positive of our visit. She needed a new prescription for her eyeglasses (which we expected) and when we asked if she could have the new prescription into her same frames, Karen said no that we needed to buy new frames because it would take 7-10 days for new glasses. I mentioned to her at that time that my wife had a back up pair and I was also shocked that it would take that long. Hello??? Other (cheaper) companies promise 24 hours, so $273.00 later, my wife has some new frames. Love my wife and she needs to see, but after we pick up her new “required” frames..... we will NEVER step foot back into that place.

The front desk woman (Jessica?) is genuinely friendly- even how she answered the phone was warm and upbeat. I feel this hard to come by these days at reception! The assistant lady (didn’t catch her name!) that helped me with glasses was wonderful as well- very patient and appropriately helpful in my struggle to choose glasses. It was just a good vibe in there and everything was so easy and smooth- thank you!

Very thorough exam. Dr. spent sufficient time explaining the results of the exam and my vision. optometrist was very helpful explaining my insurance contract and available options for eyeglasses. receptionist always has a smile and initiates the very casual and comfortable experience.

Really enjoyed my last eye exam, had a lot of fun and even learned a bit of information on my eyes too! The staff is friendly and fun! I do wish there was more choices for eye glasses here. Other that that I have had an over all great experiences here. I have been coming here for 13 years!

Dr. Andrew was very thorough and took plenty of time to talk me through everything that he was doing. He also answered every question I had. Staff was very courteous and took time to show me many pairs of glasses and talk through the different options as well as lay out all of the different pricing levels I could expect to end up paying.They had already reviewed and were ready to explain the portion that my insurance would cover and what would be out of pocket.

I had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Mattson and his amazing team last week for an eye exam and it was the best experience Ive had for eye care. Everyone in the office was very professional and helpful. I had many questions regarding my eyes and options for contacts/glasses and they answered them immediately making sure I was taken care of. The eye exam covered all the basis and we were kept well informed at each step. I appreciate the patience and the comfortable environment. My daughters glasses will arrive in a few days. The person helping her pick the glasses was beyond patient and knowledgeable.

Horrible customer service and terrible communication skills!! We set an appointment here due to the good reviews we thought that this would be a good place to take our son. However we called the day of our appointment to see if something earlier was open due to the bad weather and luckily we did because they said we were not on the schedule. They made the appointment on his birthday month, we were told it was confusion on their part and that someone new must have made a mistake. They were able to set an appointment for us the same day at 4:30 and then called back later telling us “sorry we don’t have anything at 4:30 I miss spoke” so we changed the appointment and took our son out of school to accommodate their last minute change. I received yet another call requesting my insurance, again information they should have had from the initial call. We get to the appointment and the extremely rude receptionist in the front told us with a condescending attitude said “um your appointment was at 1:00” we said no, sorry we even hung up the phone saying “we will see you at 1:30 ” the receptionist at the front kept saying “it wasn’t me you talked but we don’t have anything open and if we take you it will push our whole schedule behind” horrible customer service, even when the mistake was on their part. Their mission statement on their wall is far from the service they provide. I wouldn’t have written this if the receptionist had not been so rude about the situation. All they do is blame each other.

Lakeville Family Eye care is not only about selling you a fantastic pair of glasses, though they do offer this service and do that job very well. From start to finish, they are empathetic to my care needs, questions, and demonstrate they care about me with delight and precision. I will be a lifetime customer because of their dedication and their stellar delivery of a total eye health care solution.

I was so pleased with my whole experience at Lakeville Family Eye Care! I would certainly recommend it! I just felt Dr. Mattson took time to really address my questions and gave me a very thorough exam! His staff was very welcoming and friendly, also.

Multiple visits over 2 months to get my$800.00 pr of glasses to fit. Finally ordered $25.00 worth of silicone nose pads so my glasses would do the job. Eye drops were dried up. Made to feel like I wasnt doing something right.

I liked the calm and easy-going environment. I was seen quickly. I brought my toddler, and they were very accommodating. The doctor was thorough and informative- overall good experience, and Ill be returning.

For my 1st time going to the eye doctor I must say they were great at helping me. Staff was very nice and helped me with what I needed made sure I was comfortable with the frames I was getting and made sure my insurence covered everything. I highly recommend this place. Made sure if I had any questions they would anwser them. I will be going back here if I need anything for my eyes. Thank you for the help.

The Lakeville Family Eye team is outstanding. I saw Dr Mattson, who was incredibly personable and welcoming, as were all of the staff I interacted with. Their selection of frames and lenses are great and prices seem very reasonable. They even helped me pick frames for my specific face shape. My glasses arrived quickly and I received a notification once they arrived, so I was able to go in and pick them up at my convenience, and the new glasses are making a world of difference. If you’re looking for a mediocre experience, you’ll want to go somewhere else. A huge thank you to Dr. Mattson and the Lakeville Family Eye team! I will definitely be back for some new sunglasses!

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Mattson for years. Hes a wonderful eye doctor, and he and his staff have always taken excellent care of us. Just this week my glasses broke while on vacation. I called the clinic and Barb was on it right away, but it turned out the frame was on back order with the manufacturer for several months. She knew that was not going to work so she tracked down the frame locally, and I had new glasses within a couple days. Now that is service!

Dr Matson is very knowledgeable and thorough. He accommodates every question that I have. Staff are friendly and very accommodating. Thank you for your service.

Positives-office was clean and doctor put up with my young child who did not want to follow directions.Negative- I called before I came from urgent care where we had just found out our insurance was no longer. I explained the situation that we did not have insurance at that time and I did not have the means to pay out of pocket at that time but if she sent my child father the bill it would get paid and she told me not a problem and to come in. We came in had a check up at the end of service she told me that payment was due now I reminded her of conversation on the phone and said no that is not true you must pay now. This was right before Christmas and I was unable to pay all amount so I paid what o could which was half of services due. I gave her the address of where to send remaining bill and it would be paid. It has been 3 week and I just received a very rude call about paying my bill I asked her if she had sent bill to the address I gave her she preceded to tell me that was not her job and she was not a third party. I again told her the situation and that I would not of even came if I knew services were due immediately and that was not my fault and again if she would of sent the bill to the father it would of been paid. She ended the conversation with well I guess we will see if it gets paid. I will never go back and suggest McDonald eye in Lakeville never had a issue there should of just drove the extra mile.

The staff was always friendly and at first i thought WOW what a great place. I came in with eye issues not for anything routine. I was given meds and then told to come back every few days to check the progress....after a few visits I thought everything was finally going great...until 2 things happened. one, the bills came in and I felt overcharged who charges for full visits when it was a simple re-check... and 2 the problem kept coming back and i was given the same thing more drugs and more visits....I got to the point that I was in so much pain that I decided to get a 3rd opinion (Lakeville Eye was the second opinion) and to my surprise I was told that i was not being treated for the right thing which was confirmed by a surgeon .....thanks for wasting my time and moneyNever going back

My husband has seen many eye doctors and was most impressed with Dr. Mattson. He has had glasses since he was a child and said he has never seen as well as getting the correct prescription from Dr. Mattson. Took my 3 and 8 year old in after that. Dr. was very thorough and explained everything in detail about my childrens eye issues. Both have glasses and have quickly grown accustomed to them and can see better.

This place is AWESOME. I took my 13 year old son there to have his eyes checked and to see about contacts. They were so thorough and took their tme showing him how to take his contacts in and out. I will be sending the entire family here. The staff was very nic. Such a wonderful experience!

I always enjoy my time at Lakeville Eye Care. Always explains what were doing and why. I do ask a lot of questions.

Doctors are efficient without being rushed or inattentive. They give me enough details to always know what is going on.

I had been experiencing some pretty bad eye pain for a while before going into Lakeville Family Eye Care. I was hopeful that Dr. Mattson would be able to ease my pain, or at the very least determine what was wrong.Four visits later, well over $300, new contacts, and two separate prescriptions, there had been no improvement.I ended up feeling very taken advantage of as I kept going in for visits but there was never any improvement.As you can imagine, I havent been back to Lakeville Family Eye Care nor would I recommend it to others.

The care is very thorough. Dr. Mattson found an anomaly during our daughters eye exam which if untreated could have been disastrous. Her previous doctor at a large clinic did not catch the irregularity. We are very happy with the care and customer service we have recieved at Lakeville Family Eye Care.

Im never going back to this place again. On top of being more expensive and always trying to up-sell everything, they got my contact order wrong several times before I actually got my contacts. Now after wearing my daily contacts for several months I realized that two boxes are the wrong prescription. And the sad part is, getting the order in the first place was such a hassle that I have no desire to call to rectify this new problem. Ill just wear the wrong prescription rather than have to deal with that train wreck again.

I have been going to Dr. Mattson for a number of years and have always gone back because I enjoy the quiet, calm and relaxing atmosphere. He along with his staff are very professional, courteous and friendly and even though I only go once a year he seems to remember who I am. He is a very knowledgeable doctor who has caught a problem another doctor didnt catch with one of my brothers eyes that could have caused him to go blind. He suggested my brother see a specialist immediately which confirmed Doctor Mattsons suggestion. The glasses frames are a bit expensive but their mostly higher end name brand frames. If your looking for cheap frames go to Walmart, Sams Club, etc.

I do not believe they have the appropriate staff to fit small children in glasses and it always seemed to take several weeks to get them back from the lab. I had better and faster service at Target for my grandaughter.

Dr. Mattson is AWESOME. I have struggled with almost every eye doctor on getting my prescription right. Some of them have been so off on my prescription it has just been a waste of time and money to even go to the eye doctor. My wife saw Dr. Mattson and was so happy we took our kids (2 and 4 at the time). He was SO great with the kids. Got both of their prescriptions perfect. Our daughter also has a strange diagnoses with her vision. After seeing Dr. Mattson I went to a specialist at the Mayo Clinic for a second opinion. I did not share any of the information Dr. Mattson had given us and the specialist basically charged us 10 times as much money to say verbatim what Dr. Mattson had told us.I was so impressed I finally trusted Dr. Mattson enough to give him a crack at my crazy prescription (prisms / stigmatism etc) he NAILED it! Got my prescription PERFECT. I decided a couple of years later to try contacts for the first time in my life. At almost 40 years of age, trying something new is not something I look forward to but Dr. Mattson and his ALWAYS wonderful staff made the transition easy for me. I was having trouble getting them out at first and they had me come to the office where Dr. Mattson took them out for me himself.You just dont get that kind of service anymore. I NEVER refer anyone to anywhere anymore because I dont like tying my name to other peoples service - but I have referred almost all of my family and a slew of friends to Dr. Mattson. I dont care how far away we move from Lakeville, I will go to Dr. Mattson, he is worth any drive.Another thing I will say is that several times we have brought our frames in because they were bent (mostly the kids - doing kid things) and they always fix them up just like new at no charge. In addition, they have put new nose pads and other things on the frames because they noticed they were wearing out. I seriously dont know why anyone would go anywhere else when someone like Dr. Mattson and his wonderful staff are around.I didnt even get into all the things he did to help me in finding the right contacts. A++++ service and the best eye doctor in the state IMO.
