My mistake was putting off coming in. When I finally gave in, I came in at 730pm. After waiting in the check in area for almost 3 hours I was finally brought in to a room. They did do blood work prior to me getting a room. And they did take me for a CT scan. Here I am at 3am still no reading on my scans. The nurse is awesome he keeps coming to ask me if Im OK or need anything. Its frustrating not having my results back and not knowing whats next.

It is incredible how the quality of service in this hospital has lowered, I do not understand what is happening. My husband arrived with chest pain, he has problems with the pancreas and triglycerides have shot up to 8000, They have the historial of my husband....on this occasion he arrived with chest pain and at this moment that I write, they have been waiting for almost 4 hours, the .person at the front desk was rude when I tried to let them know that my husband was getting in worse pain and was already vomiting. The only thing that the security that when he see us on the side of the desk was limited to say, was move from the desk and take a seat. The front desk person was very rude. Please Please, customer service person or the person in charge of reviewing the reviews, do not answer me the same automatic response that you give everyone. If you are not going to give an answer to my problem, better just limit yourself to reading and take silence, you only give the same automatic response. 3 pm finally he finally they give him a stretcher inside, and now it turns out that they have it like 35 min without receiving anything for his pain ... with a lot of patience with pain, he was asking them again for help for the pain. I miss the old lake forest hospital. They had a good team, and he always received very good attention from those who greeted you at the door, to the doctor who attended him. I miss that service. Even in NW Chicago, they always served him excellently, but here is being terrible. When they opened the hospital they were attentive, now they are terrible. I dont know I dont know why most of these people who work here have no compassion for sick people.

Not sure about the people leaving all the negative reviews but between this facility, the one in downtown Chicago on 259 E. Erie where I had my 3rd surgery on my left wrist to have some hardware removed and LF Pediatrics for my kids, NM is truly THE BEST hospital system in the entire state and has been in the top ten in the US for a while now.The doctors, RNs and staff deliver top notch service in a state-of-the-art modern facility which is kept squeaky clean and with the current COVID situation, well sanitized for the safety of the public.Cafeteria has good reasonably-priced food, theres a gift shop, a Starbucks with a limited menu and a Walgreens pharmacy as well. My son whos now 5 was born in the old facility and my youngest son born this past Dec. 8th obviously was gonna be born in the best of the best of Lake co.Around here it doesnt get any better than Northwestern Medicine. My newborn was born at a healthy 10lbs and 10oz but had some issues with low blood sugar and low oxygen levels while feeding so he was transferred to the Special Care nursery for a few days before coming home. The entire staff were superb in monitoring and caring for my baby boy who finally came home on the night of Dec. 14th.Hands down, this is the go-to hospital of choice for any health related concerns and my family and I will continue coming here.

I rarely write negative reviews but Im hoping this can save even one person from making an awful choice. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Absolutely abysmal patient care. Dont go here unless you are literally dying, and even then, choose another place so your loved ones dont end up with inflated prices and bills for water fountain views. I was treated awfully, I came in pain and left in pain, I was there for maybe 5 hours (no surgeries or pain meds) and $14,000 worth of bills later left with no answers. Years later I am now reviewing results from one of my tests (that were not shared with me at the hospital). There are things on the test that explain pain Ive been having for 2+ years now. Again, I was told everything was normal. I was charged twice for the same test and have still not gotten the hospital to correct my charges. They insisted on ordering thousands of lab work despite having access to my lab work on file from my doctor 3 days before my visit. Patient services is a joke. Expect to be overcharged and dismissed. I really expected so much more from Lake Forest. It looks pretty from the outside, and thats about it. Go literally anywhere else.

This review is about the in room Food Delivery. At around 11:45 am my wife called the food delivery number at 5-6802 and she ordered an omelet. Her name and room was confirmed and the person on the phone said that the food would be delivered within 45 minutes. An hour later the food had not been delivered. When both my wife and nurse called the person on the phone said she never placed the order. (In reality my wife had placed an order but the person on the phone lost the order.) The person on the phone would not admit fault and did not apologize. This was absolutely horrible customer service. The person on the phone had to take the order for a second time. It is now 1:19 p.m. and my wife has been waiting for food since 11:45 a.m. The manner in which the food delivery was handled is extremely unorganized and unprofessional. The nurse said she was going to make a report about the poor service from the food delivery department as she was a witness to this experience.

I am wondering if medical staff are qualified as a healthcare professional or not. I had some bleeding and called to labor and delivery to get advice for the care on Sat. Dr.Hubbell from ob/gyne informed me i don’t need to worry about it or come to hospital until Monday(8/30/2021). He told me all my previous results were good so far.But it was bloody show and i got contractions Monday. Actually i had talked one of nurses from another hospital. She recommended me to see doctor asap because it had possibly to be a bloody show. I had ignored nurse’s opinion and I took hubbell’s advise. It was bad choice. It dragged me and my baby unsafe situation. I will stay away from this medical group. How can i trust doctor who does not know blood show. How medical doctor could not be aware of potential risk for patientDoctor was so busy with many patient on the day. I had to delay my delivery until doctor revisited me. Ridiculously i could feel my baby’s body is between my leg. I felt i needed someone who can help me asapAfter I discharged, They sent me survey via email. One of nurse manager sent me follow up email. I shared this awful experience with the nursing manager. But i never had received any follow up call/ email from her.I regretted to choose this hospital as my primary ob/gyne. You( medical team/ staff) did not do your best for your patient. You failed to be a healthcare professional.

My son got very sick when we was out of the country and he got a negative covid19 test to leave the country. He was still sick when we got back. I took him to the emergency room and told them his symptoms and told them we just got back from a different country the day before. My son also had blood in his stool. They gave him an IV because he has been diarrhea at least 4-5 times a day. They sent him home and didn’t check for anything else. I called and an got a an appointment with his pediatrician the next day which was a Monday. They ordered a repeat covid test for the next day. His test results came back that night and he tested positive for covid. If this hospital would have listened to me and checked him out they would’ve caught it but instead they sent us home to collect a stool sample and take it to his doctor.

Horrible experience. This hospital was only giving care to babies and white people. I came in at 8:30 and sat in the emergency room and watched 5 people get triaged, put in rooms, and leave before I did. I came in with symptoms of appendicits and my pain level was at an 8. They called a man who was well enough to go sit in his car before they called me. I watched this poor old lady who had been there well before me sit in the emergency room and cry because she hadnt received any type of care yet. All I had received was Tylenol from a triage nurse. I was balled up on the floor crying and no one checked on me. The receptionist stated that Monday is the worst day for the hospital that doesnt excuse why the people of color in the emergency were not prioritized. Yall should be shut down.

Im not sure why the negative reviews, but everyones experience is different. In May 2020, I was sent to the emergency room by a nurse at a walk-in urgent care clinic, because I was showing symptoms of ketoacidosis (with no prior history of diabetes). I had been hesitant to go to a doctor or hospital, because COVID-19 admissions were high, and I didnt want to risk exposure or to bother anyone with my problems.I did not have to wait long in the emergency room, probably because of the seriousness of my condition. This was just two months after the shutdown due to COVID-19, so I was given a quick COVID test and then waited while those results were processed (negative for the virus) and my other tests could be done. I was told that if I had waited much longer to seek medical care, I would have risked serious damage to my kidneys and possibly my life.I was immediately admitted to the ICU, where I stayed for 1.5 days. I was given a room with a double-sealed entrance, because virtually all the other patients in the ICU were COVID patients and the staff wanted to protect me from infection. I was moved to a regular room after my 1.5 days in the ICU.All of the nurses and technicians were incredible! They showed me how to use insulin properly. The meal service was great, too. The food was good and I was allowed to choose meals based on carb-counting for my newly diagnosed diabetes. After my final diagnosis was made: latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (type 1, adult onset), I was referred to endocrinology and given a diabetes educator to work with.My endocrinologist -- Dr. Elizabeth Kunreuther; my diabetes educator -- Monica Joyce; and my primary care physician -- Dr. Lynn Piest--are all attentive, caring, and answer all of my numerous questions. One year after my stay in the hospital during an unfortunate time, I am still grateful for the care I received -- and continue to receive -- from the clinical staff at Lake Forest. I believe they saved my life.

It saddens me to see so many negative reviews. Almost 2 weeks ago, I gave birth to my first child at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital and I have nothing but positive things to say. Hang tight for a long post!I went in for my induction with a plan of how I hoped everything would go, and honestly nothing went the way I had planned. Unfortunately after 24 hours of labor my little baby boy would not drop far enough to deliver naturally. We ended up having a C-section and our stay ended up being 5 days and 5 nights.I could have never done it without my incredible team. The nursing staff was beyond incredible. They were all knowledgeable, attentive, relatable, and professional. I had a difficult stay emotionally and my nurses were always there to support me. Shout out to Nicole who was with us from Labor and delivery to surgery to recovery and all the way to post-partum. I have never seen someone work so hard to help a patient have a successful delivery! Another huge shout out to our nurse Emily who we had for 2 nights in Post-partum. Unfortunately our baby was slightly jaundice and had to stay another night under the lights. Emily was there for the whole process and knew it took a toll on me. On our last night she came back with colored paper and ink pads. She helped us make baby feet heart prints to use as Valentines. She deserved a reward for her bedside manner and generosity. We were also lucky enough to meet with 3 different lactation consultants during our stay. We were completely supported on our breastfeeding journey. This was very important to me so I was very appreciative.I left the hospital regretting not getting our nurses information because I honestly feel like we gained several friends during our journey. We could not be more grateful!Thank you NM team!

We still dont know what we did as grand parents have open visiting, everything up till then was alright but I can not give a better rating when you have someone as unstable as that nurse working for you, also I will pray for her that she gets the help she so badly needs. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, or all that glitters is not gold. The “new”Lake Forest hospital is reminiscent of a shopping mall, big and beautiful. However, our recent experience there with my son was anything but golden. It was actually a stay and a sequel interrupted by two days.He was admitted through the Emergency Dept. secondary to a GI bleed. He stayed there essentially for symptom management, the hospital unable to determine the site of the problem. So in both the ER and stays at NWLF he was given transfusions to boost his hemoglobin numbers.Stating further diagnostic tools were unavailable, we were assured by the GI specialist he was told he would be transferred to the Chicago facility. After a weekend of waiting we were told he would not be transferred to the Chicago site due to problems with Blue Cross insurance. Interesting; his insurance was accepted at one site but would not be accepted downtown.A patient representative came in the room that Monday morning stating “Were sending him to Lutheran General since we don’t want him to be spending thousands of dollars out of the pocket.”Interesting. He has the premier insurance provider in Illinois that will not cover the cost of further diagnostics in the main office downtown. That day he was finally transferred ten hours later to LG. We won’t not recommend Northwestern-Lake Forest to anyone in the future. So much for the ads in magazines, television, and billboards saying how much Northwestern Medical cares.UPDATE: Our son was diagnosed with Angiodysplasia. He underwent endoscopic tests. The source of the bleeding was located and treated. Thank you Lutheran General for all you do!

Order of arrival doesn’t matter to the staff. Super long wait times, and I had to hold onto my urine in the waiting room. After about 45 minutes I had to walk up the front desk and ask if they even wanted it anymore. I’ve been waiting for 2 hours just to be called into a room. I think I will stick to condell.

Took a family member to the ER, and after 6 hours of waiting in the hallway of the ER they didn’t have a bed to admit him into. So he had sleep in the hallway with the lights on, half dressed. It’s deplorable and diminishes patient dignity. A brand new facility and they don’t have the correct capacity. When my family member asked how he was supposed to get help if he needed it (he could barely speak), he was told by the nurse to yell for him or “flag him down”. Skip LFH and go somewhere else.

If I could give a 0 I would. I have came with severe pain and they said that’s I didn’t had anything end up having stones in my gallbladder and having surgery. Came second time they saw 5 people that came after me . Waited for hours in the waiting room because my issue wasn’t emergency enough for them and I was feeling like I was dying.

This hospital is a joke. No regard for patient choice or CMS law. I asked to talke to their risk manager and was told they don’t need to speak to me because they do what the Navy tells them. So basically if a patient is active duty then the doctors and social workers at this hospital disregard their oath and the law regarding treatment of their patients

This review is for the Physical Therapy Suite 200 office lake forest il, right next to hospital.I was waiting in line behind a person for 10mins they also had a complaint. After she left I was right infront of lady who Checks you in. She didnt look at me instead was talking about me behind my back to a male therapist saying oh I give him 5 more minutes, he called yesterday morning and said he was tired can he reschedule for today. Then he called today and asked if he could reschedule again can you believe that. His mychart shoes his been to hospital many times and he better not have an episode here at our placeVery unprofessional to talk about a patient and like that right infront of me. I left the place after she said that as I was not happy.I have insomnia and wasnt feeling good the day before for orginal evaluation and called way ahead of time to reschedule. That person does not belong in a working with people environment.Worst experience in a medical facility.

Brought my newborn grandadughter because she is very sick and they left us in the hallway and then other people came in and gave them a room. Then the supervisor from the emergency room MELISSA is very super rude, she came in ask me what was the problem? Very tough with her hands in her hips and looking at me in a very angry way and we explain how we didn’t like to be in the hallway. And then she said you guys are not moving from here this is were you are staying and left. Also she was just not rude to me but to other patients.

Needed to get some tests done, I have ppo so was calling different providers to find a better deal/estimate. They told me Id have to pay $670 based on my insurance plan. Now I have two bills that come to $1,500 total, plus there is another claim for $17,000 on my insurance account with a different claim number for the same exact thing... And when I called, the representative was extremely unhelpful and rude, and wanted to wrap up the conversation quickly.OH and the weirdest thing is that they charged $1,184.00 for the Recovery Room SERIOUSLY??? I didnt even have the ROOM! It was the corner of a hallway with a CURTAIN. And Ive been there for LESS THAN AN HOUR!!!!! $1,184.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!Although the procedures I got were done well, Id recommend a different provider. Because it seems like they gave me a low estimate just so I choose them, and now they are acting like they dont know anything.**This was done at the Grayslake location, but the claims are coming from the Lake Forest location so I assume its the same thing

I had the worse experience ever at this place. Ive seen mom come to this hospital for many many years. Most of the new staff is rude. I overheard nurses in the ER discussing another patients chart and making fun of the patient. VERY UNACCEPTABLE!! So unprofessional. Also the Nurses were so rude to my mother. When I say rude I mean bad attitudes. One nurse everytime she came in her room she literally looked like she hated helping her. She never came and checked on her to see how her pain was. She never updated her on what was going on with her issues, unless I asked. I started to call Patient Relations and report it. Not sure if it would change anything..sad to say. The atmosphere in the ER appeared to be all fun and games..ladies constantly giggling and laughing. Most unprofessional and uncaring staff Ive ever seen. The hospital is beautiful but need to closely exam people theyre hiring. The sad truth about the experience is another staff member had to apolgize for the treatment my mom was getting. NOW THATS BAD!! The only positive statement I will make is that the doctors were very helpful and helped calm my frustrations. Unfortunately I know several of my peers who also received bad service(bedside mannerisms stink). Whats the use of beautifying a hospital that offers terrible patient care. Lastly, I shared this with an employee that use to work there and they had unsatisfactory care also. I had been coming to this hospital over 20 years. Why they replaced staff with all the new rude and nasty people is beyond me.

Dont judge a book by the cover this hospital SUCKS. I cant wait to see the pumped up bills to cover their pretty grounds and building. Ive seen better work as a corpsman done in tents in a dirt field. They dont know the meaning of patient centered care. I am trans and they were rude and wanted to cover up here neglect and mistreatment to my nurse friend AND PARTNER OF 15 YEARS. Ive been in nursing 35 years and worked ER, ICU and surgery and wanted to blow my whistle and they escorted me off the property and told me if I returned Id be arrested. This was the same day my partner of 15 years had emergency surgery and may have died and I could not be there for her. I WOULD NOT TAKE MY DOG THERE! I RATE THEN A -100!!!!!!!!

This is horrible. Have been waiting in ER for over 2 hours. Finally had an x-ray done, then told to get dressed again as I had to go back to the waiting area. Waited 20 minutes for someone to take me back to the waiting area...finally the x-ray tech brought me back because no one came to get me.I am still waiting...I understand that they may be busy but this is just a tad bit ridiculous.

Huge disappointment. Drs are the worst, nurses are average and they are moving my daughter to a Temporary Care Space as the hospital is over its occupancy . She’ll be in a hall way with s curtain for privacy, lol. What a joke. Brand new hospital and it can’t even care for its patents or meet the demand. We will definitely switch hospitals after this terrible experience. She was misdiagnosed also and put thru a probable unnecessary minor procedure. Go elsewhere for your care, the drs here really are not good at all.

I saw an orthopedist here a few weeks ago for knee pain and to say he seemed disinterested is an understatement. He recommended an MRI, which by the way, costs over $2000 out of pocket AFTER insurance. So I decided to go to Smartchoice MRI and it only cost me 285! I left two messages for the doctor over the course of a week and he couldn’t be bothered to call me back. The woman who took my messages was rude and sarcastic. Everything about my experience was unacceptable and I will never go back. Talk about taking the humanity out of medicine. So greedy.

My mother was admitted on 06/06/2020 for a G-Tube replacement. I received a call from Lake County Health Dept on 07/02/2020 asking how my mother was after testing POSITIVE for Covid-19. Nobody from the hospital notified myself, her doctors, nursing facility or dialysis center where she goes for treatment 3 times per week! I called to check on her while she was there for the 2 days and never received a callback from the nurse. AND I never knew they even tested her for Covid-19! What is a nice facility if the care they are providing doesnt meet the standards. This is the 2nd negative experience we have had in the past year.

After tearing a muscle in my leg and a trip to the emergency room I ended up at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital for further assessment. The staff and service at both the emergency room and hospital could not have been better. I would especially like to thank Kerri and Ken, the two nurses who got me through my day and a half of treatment. I would also like to thank Dr. Soong, my techs. Alisha and Eli and Anna the MRI Lady who got me through that hour-long ordeal. If you have the need of a Hospital stay and need to make a decision of where to go you can’t do better, then the fine folks at Lake Forest Hospital.

Let me tell you, i did not want to be admitted at all costs, but i had to be for an extreme asthma case. The ER staff was efficient and timely and very helpful. Once admitted (very late, 2am about) the first nurse i encountered was really fantastic. Funny and light hearted, easy conversationalist and did great. Best bedside manner ive had in a while. Shout out to Alan. And the day time staff has been fantastic as well. Another shout out to my nurse Lisa today as shes also been fantastic. I love NorthWestern as a hospital system. Great place to be if you have to be in a hospital.

I called to make an appt for an ultrasound. First attempt I was on hold for 15+ minutes so I hung up. Second attempt I got through after a 10 minute hold time. The first available appointment at any of their three facilities was two weeks out. That’s crazy especially if you think you may have cancer. I then had my Dr submit the order to Highland Park Hospital where I was able to connect to the radiology dept immediately and schedule an appointment within a week. I never should have wasted my time with Lake Forest. If HP can take appts within a week’s time, there’s no excuse for LF not to. And for heaven’s sake, pick up your phone in a timely manner!

I came up here to visit my mother after she had her surgery to have her cancer removed and i had accidentally left my car key in my mothers room. The sign on the door said if it was after hours to press the intercom button and so I did. Nicole answered and advised me I had to walk all the way to the emergency and she was right there at the desk!!!!! She could have simply walked to the door and kindly opened it!!! NO, she made me walk all the way around the building to the emergency room!!! I already dont feel good, I am extremely exhausted from running around trying to do everything for my mother snd still take care of my children. I cannot believe she couldnt have just opened the door for me. If you are not allowed to re-enter then put up a sign that you would need to go through emergency. What a joke!! Not to mention her careless piss poor attitude and lack in empathy. That surely doesnt help at all!!! Maybe if she had a little compassion, but no, it wasnt her so why should she care. I just lost all respect for this hospital. It wasnt even so much as having to walk to the e.r when she was standing right there and couldnt just open the door for me, it was more her attitude and lack of empathy that was just the icing on the cake. Im sorry I even had to give it 1 star.
