I went to see Dr. Manger on the 18 of May. I wasnt expecting to do the lasik that day. I got as much info and my questions were answered by the staff and the doctors. Dr. Manger reassured me that I was a candidate for this procedure, I have a lazy eye and my vision was pretty bad going in. I really couldnt make out letters before the surgery in my left eye, my right eye wasnt to bad but for many years my right eye compensated for the left when it came to reading. I now have 20/30 in my left eye, I can see so well that I held back the tears. My right eye is now 20/20. Im so grateful for Dr. Manger and his staff. Dr. Manger when you read this, please know that Im enjoying my new vision and Im so grateful to you and your staff!!! I recommend this business 100 % . Im continuing to do better with each day. Thank you Dr. Manger On one more note, I advised my children to come see you. Expect a call, they sound excited!! I know how valuable my eye site is and now the activities that held me back are no longer an issue. Thank you, thank you, Sincerely, Alex S.

Totally ruined my vision. Burnt my retina and now I have to have shots in my eye every month. This cannot be repaired ever. Didn’t even care or offer any help. I will never see out of my left eye again. Beware that’s all I can say. Biggest mistake of my life. Dr Manger you should be ashamed that you didn’t even care. His damage control staff should be ashamed as well.

Guess Im one of the 1% where things didnt quite work out. Im 56 and went with high hopes to get my left eye 20/20 and being able to drop my glasses forever. I was told that I would definitely be 20/20, maybe even 20/15. Vision was okay for a short while after Lasix but then started getting blurry. No matter how many times I called or went in they kept telling me I had to wait a full year. After a year I went back and was told I needed a touch up which is like doing the whole thing all over again. I did see Dr. Manger who seemed at a loss as to why it got blurry. I did the touch up and not one bit of difference. With no improvement I went back but all I ever got to see was the standard optometrist who said I was pretty close to 20/20 and didnt need to come back. Nobody seemed to really care that my vision was off once the surgery was done. With everything still being a little blurry (almost like double vision) I went to my private optometrist who prescribed me glasses. Geeeeez, what a waste of two years and thousands of dollars!

Dr. Manger and staff did a fantastic job. I was very nervous but there was no pain and i was able to drive myself home. Their documentation was also noteworthy as whenever I had questions or concerns while at home all I had to do was refer back to the documentation. I would highly recommend Dr. Manger and his staff for your Lasik needs. AND I already have!! Wanda

Hi my name is Brigitte Hobbs and I had my monovision done three weeks ago. Love how it has changed my life. No worries about contacts or glasses. I wake up and can see clearly. Sometimes I forget I had the surgery and I think I still have my contacts in. It gets better day by day. Distance is a little difficult. I just keep re-reading the pamphlet I was given when I was at DR. Mangers office before and after the procedure , To remind me that it takes time for my eyes to heal. Distance and night vision can be blurry but I know it will get better as time goes on. I was given glasses for distance but I refuse to use them so my eyes and brain get used to what I have and not have a crutch. Im doing everything DR. Manger told me to do and my eyes are just getting better and better every day. Again reading the pamphlets that he gave really helps to remind me that some days will be better than other others and that its all about the healing process. The only thing I would have to say is that I wish there was earlier follow up than six months, just to be able to talk go over my concerns and make sure my eyes are progressing as they should. Happy and excited each day that passes. Thank you DR. Manger.

MISLEADING ADVERTISING! This guy has been giving away the same 14 discounts over the radio for YEARS! I have only 14 remaining... Its a scam. Dont fall for it. If youre going offer a deal, why not just have a deal available? Why do you need to make people feel like there is a limited amount of coupons? You make it seem like they need to hurry and book an appointment because there are only 14 remaining. But thats not true, is it?These are YOUR eyes people! Dont trust them to someone who uses BS sales tactics to get your money. It really speaks to the type of doctor Charles Manger is.

This place is absolutely amazing! I had severe astigmatism and just plain horrible eye sight and had been wearing lenses and glasses since I was in elementary school. I had also been told, like countless others, that I wouldnt be able to get Lasik because my astigmatism was too high and it would be dangerous and etc etc. When I walked into Dr. Mangers office a staff member had my glasses analyzed by a machine that immediately showed them my prescription and revealed just how high my astigmatism was. The staff member told me right then and there that although Dr. Manger is able to treat 80% of patients, there is still that 20% that he must turn away. I thought for sure they wouldnt be able to do it and that the kind staff member was just preparing me for the let down that was to come. They tested my eyes thoroughly with different devices and machines and the results showed that I was a great candidate!!I have read some of the posts below and saw that some people are claiming Dr. Manger and his office are just trying to sell sell sell making it seem like they are only after your money and nothing else and I disagree with them completely!!After my results came in showing that I was a great candidate they could have easily begun selling their procedure to me, but they didnt. In fact, they had my eyes tested and the results confirmed by 3 (YES THREE) different doctors to make sure 100% without a doubt that my eyes were stable and healthy and that the numbers were undeniably legit BEFORE they gave me the green light!!!Also, I believe its worth noting that I was not at all on the fence about the whole procedure. I didnt need any convincing and I was actually very eager to get it done! They could have just moved on to the next step without having me retested.Im very certain other places would have just sealed the deal after the initial results came in. After all, I had been saying yes yes yes the entire time. But they went above and beyond what was expected and truly took their time to thoroughly double and triple check their findings! You definitely will not find this kind of 5 star service anywhere else! DR. MANGER YOU HAVE BUILT ONE HECK OF AN ESTABLISHMENT!

My whole entire family has been through Charles Manger as well as many family friends and I have heard nothing but positive feedback and happy patients. The procedure was painless and quick. I walked in extremely nervous but someone always would explain exactly what they were doing during the tests leading up to the surgery and would always ask if i was doing okay and always making sure I was comfortable. While they were prepping the operating room, I was sitting out in a room and they saw I was cold. Without even asking they brought me a WARMED BLANKET. That really showed me how they strive to go above and beyond and that you’re not just another patient. The surgery itself was fast quick and painless and of course during the surgery someone was in there to make me feel at ease. It’s been a whole year since i’ve had my procedure done and I went from 20/400 to 20/15 STILL!! After a whole year i see perfect and owe it all to the Saddleback Eye Team! The staff is like no other and the environment feels like you’re just at home. My experience has been just like my parents and sister- completely amazing, friendly, and comfortable. I would recommend Charles Manger to anyone and everyone. Dr. Mangers is the best! I would highly recommend him to anyone who is seeking Lasik. The staff and doctors do a thorough job at walking you through what to expect during the procedure and theyre there guiding you the whole way through. They also had a great seminar on Saturday which helped set expectations for the examination, procedure, and post-op care. All in all I felt very taken care of and I am EXTREMELY pleased with my vision (20/15) after the procedure. Having worn glasses and contacts since middle school, Im very happy to have gotten rid of those. Thank you Dr. Manger!

Just had my 6 month follow up appointment with Dr. Manger and...I have 20/15 vision. Now when I say I am beyond ecstatic with my results, I cant even begin to tell you how EXCITED and PLEASED I really am. I went from 20/2000...yes, you read that right. I thought I was only 20/1200. I asked what my vision really was today, and was told...20/2000... I am now 20/15! I have worn glasses since the age of 8. 40 years was a long time messing with glasses and contacts. Now, when youre as visually impaired as I was, it is literally a life changing procedure. I am so glad I went through with it now. The entire staff, as well as Dr. Manger, made my entire experience worth it. If you are even considering Lasik the slightest bit, dont hesitate to call Dr. Mangers office to schedule a consultation. 3 years after my procedure, I am still having problems with severe dry eyes. I was told that it would go away after a year or so, but not with me. I am also back wearing glasses or a contact in my left eye to see far away like at football games, reading signs while driving, even in the daylight, when I was told when given the glasses they provided that I would only need them when driving at night. If I had to do it again, I probably would have not. I was over 60 when I had the procedure done and was hoping to get a few years without glasses. Maybe if I was younger I would have had a longer period of better vision, but I would not recommend this procedure for anyone over 60. My eyes get really tired, dry and sore after only a few hours of computer work. Time to retire I guess.....I only gave them 2 stars because the staff and doctor were very nice and caring, but very disappointed in the outcome and longevity of the procedure. Save your Social Security money and wear the glasses. :)

Best decision ever.It has been about 5 months since my procedure and I still can’t believe my eyes (punintended). Before having this done, there was no way I could drive, work on the computer, or go about with day-to-day activities without my glasses. I tried contacts, because I got sick of having glasses on my face all day, but I couldn’t get past the thought of having to stick my finger in my eyes. So, I dealt with glasses. The thought of LASIK was intimidating at first (since I couldn’t even handle the contacts) but I’d had enough. I went to a seminar, where I got to listen to other patients talk about their experiences and saw the laser rooms where the surgery actually takes place. Also, just hearing from Dr. Manger really makes you feel at easewith everything. The day of the exam/surgery you are taken to a bunch of tests and seen by an optometrist before Dr. Manger. Once he gives the final okay and says you’re a good candidate, you are taken back to get prepped for surgery. “Prepped” meaning they put A LOT of numbing drops in your eyes so you dont feel anything the entire time. The surgery itself only took about 15 minutes! And that was it. I still can’t believe how quick and easy it was. That night, probably about 4 hours after the procedure, I stood across the room and could read the score of the Dodger game… Absolutely amazing. The next morning at my post op visit I was seeing 20/15… I went from 20/200 to 20/15 in not even 24 hours! I even read a few letters on the 20/10 line. My vision has never been this clear, even with my glasses.I still, out of habit, bring my finger to the bridge of my nose to push up my glasses. I cannot thank Dr. Manger enough, and all the staff there, for this amazing gift theyhave given me.

Like many others who have posted here, my biggest question now that I have experienced Dr. Mangers care, precision and skill is why did I wait so long to do this?! I spent countless hours researching and searching for the best LASIK surgeon and i was willing to travel ANYWHERE to get it done. How happy was I to learn that Dr. Manger was not only the most qualified and educated surgeon to be found, he used the latest cutting-edge technologies and was a master at his work. And he was right here in Orange County, California! The hardest part of the whole procedure was getting my butt to their office and letting them do the rest. I have to admit I was pretty nervous, but my nerves settled immediately upon walking in the front door. The entire staff was super friendly and I just felt like I was in great hands right away. I felt especially comfortable because I knew I was in great hands at the Saddleback Eye Center. Doctor Manger is a true professional and he is very detailed and precise. 6 months ago I came in for a LASIK consultation with Dr. Manger and I decided the day of the consultation to go ahead and do the procedure as they had a special that I would be saving 500.00 if I did the procedure same day. I will be honest, I was extremely nervous and thought maybe I was rushing this and questioning my decision to do this, even though Dr. Manger had so many great reviews about him and his staff and very professional! Lets not forget to mention once I met them all, they definitely were exactly like the reviews said. They were all very nice and made me feel extremely comfortable! I am very sensitive when it comes to my eyes (after the procedure, my eye sensitivity also dramatically decreased which was a pleasant surprise LOL) so just thinking of something coming so close to my eyes totally freaked me out but knowing I was in good hands made me feel so much better about it. The procedure itself was very quick, no pain at all. It took longer to actually numb my eyes than it did to have the actual LASIK done. The day after my procedure I went in for my post op and I went from 20/400 to 20/15 vision, literally overnight! I am so happy to say my 6 months follow up appointment was today and I still have that 20/15 vision!! If you are thinking about doing LASIK, do not hesitate! Come to Dr. Manger for your procedure! He and his staff is once again super awesome and they do great work! I keep trying to get my family to come and do LASIK with him since I’ve had such a great experience and results! Get a clue, I was not interested in them 10 years ago, I will never be interested ever. I keep asking them to remove me from their mailing list. That is ignored. Thank you Dr. Manger and staff for my New Vision. I have worn glasses since I was 6 years old. I hadn’t payed much attention to Lasik because I’m a chicken when it comes to touching my eyes(this is also why I never tried contacts) but I was getting tired of waking up and having to reach for my glasses. I started doing some research. When I called Saddleback Eye Center, I was invited to attend a Seminar hosted by Dr. Manger. At that Seminar I learned lots of information and I got to talk to some people who had surgery here, so I decided to take the next step and go in for an exam.Since the moment I walked in the staff made me feel like they had known me for a long time, everyone is very friendly and caring. They gave me the confidence and comfort to have surgery.I had surgery a couple weeks ago and one day after surgery I was seeing 20/20! Thank you again for giving me my new vision !!!!

Just left Dr. Mangers office and was so impressed by Dr. Manger and his associates that I had to write this review. It turns out that I am one of those few people that is NOT a good candidate for LASIK so I cant comment on the procedure itself. However, I can testify to the thorough testing and explanation of my condition I was given.Even after it was clear that I was not a candidate for LASIK, Dr. Manger took the time to examine my eyes himself and counsel me on the small amount of cataracts that he saw. He gave me concrete suggestions on what I should do to slow the cataracts as much as possible.I happily bought a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses from Dr. Mangers office to help protect my eyes and will be sure to use Dr. Mangers office again in the future.

Had my LASIK done with Dr. Manger on August 3rd, and I finally got around to writing a review! I waited a long time because I usually don’t write reviews for anything, but I am just so impressed with my new 20/15 vision, Dr. Manger’s expertise, and all of Saddleback Eye Center’s amazing staff.I wore contacts since I was 11 years old. By the time I was 18, my eyes became so irritated from my contacts that I couldn’t wear them for more than 6 hours at a time anymore (and I literally HATE wearing glasses). Can’t believe I waited until 24 to do it.I read online that Dr. Manger has done over 80,000 LASIK surgeries, so I was really confident going into his office that he has the expertise. However, what blew me away even more was his staff and how caring and genuinely kind and helpful everyone was!I knew I was going to do the surgery the same day as my consultation, so I expected to be there for a few hours, but the time seemed to go by quickly! There were a lot of tests, but each one was explained really well, and I was regularly checked on to make sure I was okay. I was even given some lunch while waiting :)The surgery itself was super quick and easy. If you’re nervous, they offer Valium, but HONESTLY there is NOTHING to be nervous about! I literally felt nothing, and the surgical assistants coached me through the whole thing. After the surgery was over, the staff was kind enough to set up a complimentary hotel stay overnight and shuttle service because I live over 50 miles away. Overall, I am thorougly impressed with Saddleback Eye Center. It’s seriously the best treatment I have EVER received at a doctor’s office, and it’s a great feeling to throw away all glasses and contacts and wake up every morning with awesome vision! :D

YOU GUYS!!! I GOT LASIK!! About three months ago Dr. Manger did my LASIK procedure. Before LASIK, I couldn’t even read the giant E at the top of the eye chart, my vision was that horrible. The next morning I was seeing 20/15!!! I wore contacts before LASIK, but because contacts are so expensive I would wear my “two week” contacts for about a month and a half. Over the last couple years, my contacts were starting to irritate my eyes so much, they were almost unbearable to wear. I knew I needed to get LASIK.Before making my decision, I decided to really do some research. I had SIX LASIK EXAMS, before having it done. Yes, you read that right, six exams all around town and Dr. Manger is the only one I’d trust with my eyes. One exam I had was at a place that offered LASIK for super cheap ($3000 for both eyes) and thank God I know enough about the surgery now to not fall into that trap. Let me tell you, if someone offers to do surgery on your eyes for that cheap, run for the hills!! The technology they use at those places is horrifying, not to mention they didn’t couldn’t tell me anything about their success rates because they make you go somewhere else for follow-up appointments. When I asked how many surgeries the surgeon had done, the girl on the phone literally told me “I don’t know, he’s done a lot.” Yea, sounds like your office is very detail oriented, no thanks. The other exams I went to were at least using better technology, but I was still never seen by the surgeon. The people telling me I was a good candidate, giving me SURGICAL ADVICE, were not even doctors. And they only did one or two tests! Seriously?!Dr. Manger’s office did 14 different tests and I was there for two and a half hours! And I was not just sitting around, I was busy at tests! Their office is very efficient and veerryyyy thorough. He was in the Navy so it makes sense. At the end, Dr. Manger came in and told me I was a candidate and that I could do the surgery the same day if I wanted to. Since they do all the tests up front, the only thing left to do is the surgery!I had my surgery and literally TWO MINUTES after my LASIK procedure, I was already seeing 20/30!! It’s like someone took a magic wand and fixed the blurry vision I had been suffering from for my whole life! I actually just drove myself home, rested for about an hour, had some dinner, and then went to Knott’s Berry Farm! I was on rollercoasters that very night! This was the first time in my life I could see, so I was living it up!The next morning I was seeing 20/15, and now three months later it is still just as amazing! Get this done ASAP. There’s literally no reason to subject yourself to one more day of glasses and contacts, when you have the most experienced surgeon on the whole West Coast right here in Orange County!

It’s been almost 3 months since my LASIK procedure with Dr. Manger! Long story short, there is no other office and no other surgeon I would trust with my eyes. Before deciding on Dr. Manger and Saddleback Eye Center, I had gone to two other consultations in Orange County. I was told that my corneas were too thin, and I probably wasn’t even a good candidate for LASIK. (This was all decided without even being examined by the surgeon).I thought I’d give it one more try, and made an appointment at Saddleback Eye Center. From the moment I walked in, I could tell this office was different. Every staff member is warm and friendly, and they do an excellent job at explaining the entire process, from what test they are doing, to what’s going on with your vision, to the surgery itself. And guess what? Dr. Manger told me I was a great candidate for LASIK!!I was SO nervous before the procedure! But, they offer Valium, so if you’re nervous I highly recommend:) They give you a ton of numbing drops before the procedure as well, and literally, I felt nothing the entire time! It was so easy!!I went in for my post op first thing the next morning, and not even 24 hours after the procedure, I was already seeing 20/15!!! (Which is BETTER than perfect!!!!)Dr. Manger is amazing, and I can’t thank him enough for what he’s given me.

I had surgery here last year only because Im completely blind from my left eye, so I went here and got my right eye fixed so I can see 20/20 with my good eye... I do see better than before but not better than when i was wearing my contacts probably less than that... (I wasnt able to see 20/20 with contacts) I called them earlier to see what can they do and apparently i have to pay them $200 again to examine whats going on and see what they can do, but obviously thatll cost another procedure so Ill have to pay them thousands again... Im not doing it because I think its very unfair after they PROMISED Ill see 20/20 or better and im not giving them more than 2 stars because I do can see better and my eye is not bothering me, but their customer service with past patients is really really bad and shouldnt be like that.. and apparently Dr. Mangers promises werent real, that really sucks because I really liked how he took me step by step on everything that was being done ... anyways I hope they wouldnt promise something and then not fixing the problem after the promise was never there...

I am not exaggerating when I say that visiting Dr. Manger was an absolute miracle and I will forever preach the gospel of him and Saddleback Eye Center! I wrote a lengthy review on Yelp and I thought I would post it on Google as well so more people can see it. Today I am about six months out from having my surgery and I am still in shock. I can go swimming without fear of losing a contact, I can fall asleep without the hassle of taking my contacts out (or worse - having to peel them off when Ive accidentally fallen asleep with them in!), I dont have to worry about if there was an emergency in the middle of the night and I didnt have time to put my contacts in. If youre on the fence about having LASIK done, I dont know how else to convince you other than to shake you by the shoulders and yell, What are you waiting for?!? This was the best decision I have ever made in my life and I even told my husband that the day I had the procedure was the best day of my life (I suppose besides the birth of my children and my wedding day lol). I am forever grateful to Dr. Manger and everyone at the Saddleback Eye Center! Here is an excerpt from my long Yelp review:I had been told TWICE…from another LASIK doctor in Newport Beach that I wasnt a good candidate for LASIK eye surgery in the past because my corneas were too thin and my prescription was really high (my contacts Rx was -9.50 and my glasses were around -14.00). My only option was to have an implantable lens placed in my eyeballs Fast forward a couple of years to this past week and I got a mailer from Dr. Charles Manger from the Saddleback Eye Center (SEC) and I thought, hey, maybe technology has changed or whatever. What did I have to lose?…I went in, not expecting much - I didnt want to have my hopes up. All the staff members were so incredibly nice and I didnt think I was going to be a candidate but lo and behold...BOOM. My corneas were fine. Their thickness was perfectly fine and would leave more than enough left to meet the FDA requirements. I was an excellent candidate and they told me that if I did the surgery that same day, Id save $500. I was not expecting that at all!...I wasnt nervous at all. I had been waiting for this since I can remember. I was legally blind without my contacts and Ive had to wear glasses since I was in the first grade. My poor vision has always been a part of me, and I feel its been a part of my identity. But since I didnt have to drive, I gladly accepted the Valium offered to me ;) Surgery was relatively quick. It was just me, Dr. Manger, and two of his (sorry, I dont know the technical term for them) staff members. My eyes were numb from drops that I recognized from my usual eye doctor appointments so I didnt feel anything, just pressure. But no pain whatsoever. I was a little nervous that I would mess up by not following instructions or not looking at the blinking laser, etc. but I think I just fell into this meditative state (thanks, Valium) and I didnt speak one word. Dr. Mangers staff was next to me the whole time, coaching me through it all with this calming voice: Youre doing a great job, Christine. Stay still like a statue. Remember to keep your right eye open... Before I knew it, it was over and I could see!...Everyone was very throughout, patient, and kind to me. They even had an Uber take me home so my mom didnt have to haul the kids to come pick me up. I rested as much as I could when I went home (hard with two small kids), but I was able to do some light computer work that evening…Surprisingly, I didnt have the worst prescription they had seen out if the 85,000 patients Dr. Manger has worked on! But heres the big number for you: Before surgery my vision was 20/4000. Yep, 4000. I also had astigmatisms. Today, the day after my surgery, my vision is 20/25 and is only going to get better with healing. Im still in shock. I didnt think I was going to be a candidate, let alone have the damn surgery SAME DAY!

****DONT DO IT***My eyes are ruined for life, never achieved 20/20 vision (and they lied when they wrote down that I could read the eye chart, very unethical),my eyes are super light sensitive and almost always dry. Horrible!!! Biggest mistake of my life for sure. Now trying to find a place that will attempt to correct some of it.DONT DO IT!!!!

You know...it’s shady for a business to pay or have their employees post reviews. Scrolling through reading some of these is flat out laughable. People rely on these reviews in choosing the right doctor. Instead of trying to convince people by being deceitful, why not rely on how good you think/say you are and let the honest reviews roll on in. Disgraceful.

This was the best gift i every gave myself - Years later very happy with my vision. My Vison was terrible at distance and I couldnt see up close either. Now I can see like an Eagle- I dont need glasses to see my phone or computer. The entire process was easy and very comfortable. The staff was super friendly and Dr. Manger was awesome and explained everything clearly! I highly recommend him and Saddleback Eye Center. I should have done it years ago!

I had LASIK with Dr. Manger less than 24 hours ago and Im already seeing 20/20! It is absolutely incredible! Ive been wearing glasses as long as I can remember and got into contact lenses about 15 years ago which I hate. Ive always felt weighed down and held back by my glasses and my contacts always irritated my eyes. One day I decided I had enough of that and decided to check out Dr. Manger. Im so glad I did and I cant wait to start living my life and doing all the outdoor activities that I couldnt do with poor vision. Thank you Dr. Manger & Saddleback Eye Center!

My experience at Saddleback Eye Center was wonderful! Everybody from the staff to Dr. Manger and all the other doctors and technicians was so professional in every aspect. The procedure itself was painless and I much appreciated someone going through each step as the procedure was done. I would definitely recommend Dr. Manger to anybody who is considering LASIK.

Dont know a thing about this doctor but I would stay away from any doctor that sends unsolicited mass mailings to your home address. I would advise against anyone pursuing an interest in working with any doctor that pursues this type of marketing strategy. Good luck.

The only regret I have was waiting so long for Dr. Manger perform my LASIK procedure. I researched LASIK surgeons prior to coming to Dr. Manger and the reason I choose Dr. Manger was because of his 21 years of LASIK experience. The only procedure Dr. Manger performs everyday is LASIK and I really wanted a dedicated LASIK specialist to work on my eyes. I was also impressed by Dr. Mangers success rate and his military background. It is evident that he runs a very organized LASIK practice and certainly values attention to detail. He was able to correct my astigmatism and farsightedness. My vision 1 day after LASIK is 20/20. If you are considering LASIK at all I highly recommend you have a LASIK consultation with Dr. Manger. He and his team at Saddleback Eye Center are true experts in the field of LASIK eye surgery.

When it came to finally getting LASIK, my only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner! I had avoided having LASIK for years just because I was terrified of the “what if’s”… The most important thing to me in choosing where to have LASIK was the surgeon. The fact Dr. Manger has done over 81,000 LASIK gave me the confidence I needed to finally go through with the procedure. I went from 20/60 to 20/15 and I could not be happier! Easy surgery process- no pain, and I was back at work the next day! I have already told all my friends and family who need LASIK to go here. Thank you Dr. Manger & everyone at Saddleback Eye Center!

I was previously told by another Doctor that I was not a candidate for LASIK - After needing another pair of $500 glasses I called - Saddleback Eye Center - After a great phone conversation, met with Doctor Manger - Scheduled the procedure and was a little nervous - during my visit and exam the team did a great job of comforting me and when I had the surgery it was very easy. The next morning I could read my phone - computer - and TV without Glasses, I now see 20/20 - should have done it years ago!

I am beyond happy I made the decision to have LASIK at Saddleback Eye Center. All the staff and technicians were amazing and made my experience great. From my first call, Pam and Katelynn were great with answering all my questions and providing information. Dr. Manger was excellent during the procedure. Dr. Manger and the technicians were focused but made sure to provide clear instructions on what to expect. I will definitely recommend Saddleback Eye Center to everyone I know.

Never take your vision for granted. I have worn glasses for years, to correct a stigmatism, near sightedness, and a prism. In addition, I have had chronic dry eyes for 7 years which prevented me from being able to wear contact lenses, beside the fact that contacts will not correct a prism. I was told by Dr. Nguyen, who did my pre-op, that I qualified for LASIK. Naturally, I was thrilled, and believed him because he is an optometrist, after all, right? Part of the procedure was traumatizing to begin with, the part where the suction cup was placed into my eye socket so they could cut the flap. It took about 10 tries for Dr. Manger to get it into my right eye socket and about 6 tries for my left, because apparently I have extra small eyes and sockets. Dr. Manger is very robotic and lacks any real emotion or sensitivity, almost like his daily conversation is scripted. His time spent with patients is brief, and he is void of empathy. It feels like Dr. Manger and his office put their patients on an assembly line, and their only interest is in selling their product. My vision is still not corrected fully, I see about 20/50 and I still need to wear a prism in my glasses. Additionally, the recovery has been excruciating with my dry eyes. I have been told that my eyes are still adjusting, and that if in 4 more months things arent better, I should come back in for a touch up. Regardless, there is no way that LASIK surgery can correct my prism issue so I feel like I just got ripped off. $5000 doesnt grow on trees, unless you are Dr. Manger. Im terrified, and dont know how I will proceed when that time comes. I am told that I would not have to endure the painful suction device again, but the recovery with my terribly dry eyes will have to start all over again. Ill repost at the end of the year, hoping that things will shape up, but for now, this is how I feel.
