Once I saw the valet person running behind our Porsche as we were pulling in, I knew this was going to be different.We had just spent the night at the infamous Hotel Del Coronado and was severely disappointed.From the moment I put the car in park, my expectations were going to be met.Very attentive service personnel.The front desk receptionist even walked us to our room with a gorgeous view and showed us around.Absolutely breath taking.My wife was VERY happy and you know the saying…A happy wife is a happy life 😎We had dinner at The Loft and then enjoyed the musician in the lobby.Looking forward to seeing the other Montage resorts !

This resort should win a gold medal for the service they provided! They were very proactive and did all they could to ensure we had an amazing stay. The resort is stunning! There are beautiful ocean views throughout the hotel, when you first step into the lobby and your room its all that you can see! The beds are extremely comfortable, it was hard leaving them in the morning. The room is spotless and provides a calm atmosphere. The breakfast and dinner at the Loft was delicious. If I could give this a 10 star rating I would! I am definitely a Montage fan and will plan trips to stay at their other locations.

Superior level hotel and gorgeous views in every angle. Exceptional front staff who are well attuned to your needs. Olga is very kind and helpful. Phenomenal cleaning staff who are dedicated. Valet staff could be better. They walk past you without acknowledging you. Daily, hotel customers are confused on whos is being served and who isnt. But overall a great hotel with a very peaceful relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend and we would stay here again.

Excellent food, great head server, overall a Montage experience. Next time please coasters (no water rings on the table), serve Ladys first, then the youngest, etc. (If this is still valid), plus serve to the right person whatever they ordered (we had some mix up). However as superb as it could be. Liked it a lot. The 8 minute egg (sea level altitude taken into consideration), the oatmeal, the eggs serano. Thank you, fun moment!

Its a Montage property, need I say more? From the bell staff, all the way to housekeeping, you wont find better service anywhere in the world. The property is safe, superbly clean and well maintained. Sitting directly on the beach, youll enjoy unbelievable views and easy access to beaches and walkways surrounding the the Pacific coast.

Wow! Had an amazing time at the Montage! Best resort in Laguna beach. Incredible views from every angle of the hotel. Since the moment you walked in you sense joy and peace. Beverly at the front desk checked us in and walked us to our room, she was so sweet and welcoming. She explained everything in so detail that we didn’t have to ask anything. We were celebrating our anniversary and we had dinner at the loft. We had a great view from the balcony Best view ever… and Maren our server just WOW. this lady went above and beyond. She had so much knowledge about every single dish. Made increíble recommendations and not only that, she put a list together of places around the area we should visit! Overall, unforgettable trip and we will never forget our stay at the Montage!

Beautiful, clean, went on a Sunday late afternoon for a walk through the report and a stroll through treasure island beach. Easy parking, no crowds, quiet.

My family and I decided to stay here for Father’s Day weekend. It was our first time here and had heard nothing but amazing things about the resort. Everyone was so nice while checking in. We got 2 rooms, one for us and one for my parents. Their room was done but ours wasn’t so we just hung out in there. While we were waiting, we had noticed ketchup stains on the curtains and couch. The bed wasn’t folded along with a few other things. For what you pay to stay here, you expect the best. Yolanda Jimenez, the supervisor of house keeping came up immediately and was so disappointed in how the room looked and took care of it. But when I say she took care of it, she went above and beyond for my family and I. She also let her fellow coworkers down by the pool know of the situation, Paul and Renzo, and they went above and beyond also. They all made our stay that much more pleasurable. By the end of our stay, they all became friends. We can’t wait to go back soon and see them all. Thank you Yolanda for being an amazing asset to The Montage. Worst place on planet earth; better off eating at McDonalds seriously.. You have been warned, they have such a high turnover that no one knows who you are there anymore, no one will remember you enough to welcome you back and the service is sub par to say the best.. I go and spend $1000 a time for lunch and cocktails with me and my wife 9/5 will be the LAST time i visit here.. Your better off heading to the Ritz where your treated like Family

This is one of the most beautiful hotel in Laguna Beach. My 10 years old son had great time at the beach and also playing at Pain Box, exploring tide pool. The Spa always was busy but service was wonderful. ( I recommend book your appointment in advance). Mosaic restaurant was great having dinner with beautiful sunset. The Loft restaurant was amazing (highly recommend Burrata & Bayonne and Coffee Prime New York)

Its beautiful and most days has clear waters. I love the sunny weather as well - its perfect for swimming and Ive heard that the snorkeling is good too. You can find amazing things in the tide pools as well! It is a lot of times relatively crowded but you can usually find a spot not too close to everyone. The sea is pretty cold and there are riptides and strong currents so not the best place for small children to swim however it has really good life guards. I generally enjoy the ocean when the waves are rough (I like swimming out and diving under the waves) just make sure you swim with someone :)

Montage is one of the premier hotels in one of the premier vacation spots. The dining is extraordinary the views are without equal. What can you say this is 5⭐ in any world

One of my favorite places to go for drinks. Such a beautiful property and they have piano music playing by a very talented musician 7 days a week. There is also an outside bar Mosaic down below that had music playing as well during my visit. Food at the Loft is delicious and seasonal as well. I have always loved the restaurant Studio down below but it is not currently open.

I have been going here for years with my family and until recently, always looked forward to coming back. My wife got food poisoning from the caesar salad, which happens but not usually at a place like this. We called to let them know and they didnt seem too interested in finding out when/where from so they could keep other guests from getting sick. First the person just said okay, do you need me to transfer you to room service to which I told him I only wanted to report it so others didnt get sick also. He still didnt ask where we thought it was from, I had to remind him that was why I was calling. They did comp the nearly $40 salad though.  The next day we asked for the room to be turned over and bathroom disinfected after that fiasco and there was still bits of vomit on the toilet and floor. They also did not change our babys diaper pail or crib sheets, so the aromatics of vomit and fecal matter filled the air for over 24hrs. The next day I was pretty sick as well. I ask for them to come turn over the room for a second time, while I try and sit by the pool, 3 and half hours later no one had cleaned the room. So far from what I had come to expect from this place in the last 22 years, this was the not that experience. The staff by the pool was great, as usual, so were the wait staff at all the restaurants and other staff when we spoke. Those really are just some parts of what makes a 6 star hotel (this is what I expect here because it usually is wonderful), with everything else that happened I would give 2 stars for this trip though. Quite disappointed this time around. Just a fluke? I hope so, because we usually love the Montage.

Lunch at the Loft is like a mini vaca. The large crab cake was all crab, with delicious fruit salsa & greens. The ocean breeze was heavenly. The colors of the ocean, sky & clouds amazing. Service was attentive, always in the background. Very relaxing long lunch.

Really loved this place. The service was 5 stars. The beds are really comfy. The loft restaurant was really good. Make sure you get the dessert.

Came here for a wedding. Amazing venue. Beautiful Pacific Ocean views. Fantastic service from start to finish. Passed Hors d’ouvres were just okay but the dinner service was amazing. Did not stay at the property but saw a room which was definitely nice, but not as extravagant as you might expect for the price point. Still, if you want a beautiful place and you don’t mind spending top dollar, the Montage is for you.

I came here for a family reunion and it was great. The food was good, the rooms were beautiful, the pool was great and the access to the beach was perfect. The employees were also very kind. I wouldn’t have expected anything more! I love how they cleaned the rooms more than once a day. I always felt like I was in a clean place. I will definitely come back!

A rare gem visual beauty and beautiful water. However there are rocks and at times the water can get very very rough with a lot of riptides and deep water. Occasional rough waves That can take down adults! Watch you kids. The life guards (3 in this short strech at times is clue to how the water is.) are phenomenal!

We checked out the lobby lounge. I had a beer and girlfriend had a old fashion. It was good. It was pricy but its expected. Nice customer service and a beautiful view of the beach.

Sunsets and walks along the beach are always great at the park.

My wife, kids and I love this property. From the moment you park and see the beautiful blue ocean, this resort really takes your breath away. My wife and I have celebrated birthdays, our engagement, children on the way, and many other occasions including New Years Eve here. The staff is always friendly, upstairs there is a large entertainment area expansive panoramic views of the ocean.Its a great place to hang out with family and friends, use the resort facilities including the pool and spa and take walks along the ocean.The loft restaurant as well as the outdoor restaurant downstairs have both been very nice places to enjoy a meal. Because we live just minutes away - I cannot give a review with regard to the rooms or staying at the hotel.Highly recommended.

Beautiful setting, wonderful atmosphere. We had lunch at the restaurant by the pool and it was outrageously expensive. Four salads 2 small appetizers 2 drinks....$275!! Insane!

Beautiful resort and extremely accommodating staff. I was there for s conference and the Montage executed on everything flawlessly.

What else can I say besides STUNNING. We walked the path that lines the cliff at sunset and it took my breath away. Perfect little benches line the cliff with vegetation to block the direct wind. Beautifully landscaped, to transport you to a tropical paradise.

Beautiful common area, where you can go even if you are not staying there! Beautiful view especially at nights! There is a huge light directed to the ocean which makes the view even more beautiful. Take your drink and enjoy a walk there!

Wonderful beach. Many places, to stop and take beautiful photos. There are several areas here, too get in the water and enjoy the sand. The rocky outcrops, make the area unique and gives you something to remember.

Right on the beach & on the sand ! It goes right up on the cliff & they have a private Home community too ! The Valet are great !Its mainly for Tourism ! But locals love it also ! Nice place for Lunch or a nice Gourmet Dinner ! They have live, talented musicia ns ! The smell of the salty fresh air !

Even if you don’t stay here, I advise you to grab a drink at their balcony. View is priceless.

I had one of the most Disappointing, frustrating, dreadful experiences ever at the Montage Lounge bar.We went there to enjoy the music, have a bite and a one or five cocktails lol...We were refused food services in the lounge even after being told the night before we could in fact eat there! We were Completely ignored by the bar wait staff, even after introducing ourself and explaining wed be back after having to go downstairs to eat at the restaurant instead of up there. The reason we wanted to eat in the lounge was to hear the performer playing the piano and guitar...I almost wish, we had just stayed in the restaurant (which was a very nice experience) Because the Acoustics, singing, playing was not good in my and my parties opinion, in fact it was down right Disappointing especially because that was the main reason we went to the 5 star? Montage. Lastly DO NOT go there unless your a guest and or to visit the restaurants. Will Garcia

Nice park with beautiful views. Some picnic areas shaded by trees. Several access areas to the beach. Parking can be a pain, unless you pay the hefty valet fees at the hotel.

I wanted to take a quick moment to thank you and your team for a truly memorable experience at your property a week ago. I had hoped to get to this review sooner, but I guess that fact that I am finding time to write this much after our stay could potentially make it even more impactful. When people ask me about our stay I say it was one of the best VALUES I have ever received for the unsurpassed service and overall quality vacations I have ever had. Almost every single employee interaction, of which there were many because I love to chat, I felt like the employee truly cared and truly wanted us to have a fantastic stay.Let me get into the specifics, I would like to name a few individuals who went way above and beyond and we left thinking of them as friends. Renzo at the Spa pool was one of the most genuine, kind, professional and likeable people I have ever met. Every request we had he followed through on with a genuine smile, and he usually went even beyond whatever we were looking for to exceed our expectations. Alongside his sister, Camilla, they made the 2 days we spent at the spa pool some of the best days my wife and I have had in a long time. We also had really great experiences with Elias and Johnny who were attentive and also very personable.We started off on a great foot at the hotel with Spencer at the front desk too. He was remarkably friendly and kind and it was the perfect start to our stay. Malina, the hostess at Mosaic was very friendly and also made us feel welcomed and like friends every interaction we had. John Dean music played some amazingly fun tunes and created a vibe that we ended up eating dinner at Mosaic both nights and missed our reservations off property. Matt, one of the attendants at the Main pool, was also super cool and friendly and I think someone who could really grow in your organization after he finishes college with his great service and genuine demeanor. I must also thank housekeeping because the only time they ever get mentioned is when something is wrong. But our room was clean and organized, and the turndown service was very nice.Overall it was a truly special stay for us and I wanted you to know. I know there are some real challenges with running a hotel right now, but with the staff shortages and other covid related issues you have built a team to exceed expectations and leave your guests with great memories as they leave your property.Please share this review with your team, I hope that it fills them with a small piece of the joy they bestowed on us.

Laguna Beech very cleaning and a lot of different type restaurants.I love Laguna Beech and I am going one or two times a week.

Beautiful location just take note on public showers since they are far and few between. Most of Laguna is on resort sides which are kept up by HOA and resorts. Clean even public restrooms!

GOOD SERVICE. ROOMS ARE NICE. PROBABLY NOT WORTH 1300 PER NIGHT BUT AS A RESORT ITS TOP NOTCH.

We spent the weekend celebrating my wife’s birthday, fantastic Hotel with beautiful rooms and the staff was very friendly and profesional, they new our names and they greeted us wherever we were on the hotel premises, the food was amazing also!

The Montage Resort is without a doubt one of my favorite destinations in Laguna Beach. I recommend that you start your visit at the Spa Montage for an hour long message followed by an hour in the sauna and the spa’s indoor jacuzzi pool, then finish unwinding with an hour outside at the private pool with a grand ocean view for spa patrons only, not pictured here. Then make your way to the piano bar in the lobby lounge to enjoy a glass of champagne or wine or your favorite mixed drink which will be served to you by one of their delightful staff. Here you will be able to relax as you sip your drink while listening to songs performed by master pianist Steve Siu. Then after the sunset you can make your way down to “The Studio” which is an amazing oceanfront restaurant on the property. There is also “The Loft” which is another fantastic ocean view restaurant located downstairs from the piano bar. The Montage Resort is truly a 5 star resort that never disappoints.

I mean. Its pretty. But not THAT pretty. Not particularly remarkable. I expected way different accoutrements, service, style for the price that says dripping in luxury. Its just not. One thing. The bathrooms are nice. Deep soaking tubs. Lovely vanities. And yet..... nothing to write home about in terms of soaps, shampoos, body wash. Just your every day fare in the usual teensy tiny bottles and bars. Lobby is big and expansive, but the same scrambled eggs carpeting as every place else. Oh well. Now we know.

Probably one of the most beautiful beachfront resorts in Southern California. Conveniently located in South Laguna Beach. Its an easy drive to Disneyland, or Fashion Island in Newport Beach for lunch and some shopping.

Amazing atmosphere and a great place to get drinks or have a nice and relaxing afternoon or have dinner. Five star service no matter where you are at on this property and also five stars across the board for food and drink!

I didnt stay at the Montage (which by the way looks spectacular), but the beach, cliffs, views and pathway in that area is a must. I highly recommend taking a bottle of wine, some crackers and Cheese, a cozy sweater and good company to watch the sunset. You get an amazing view from anywhere along the Montage beach / cliff area. Cheers!

Like always, Montage properties stand as the high standard of quality and service while only being in the very best and most stunning of locations. It is no wonder that Laguna Beach is the flagship of the Montage brand. From the poolside cocktails(thanks Vivian), 24hr jacuzzi, and oceanview fireplace to the breathtaking views from the in house restuarant, The Loft and the gorgeously manicured gardens, this is definitely my new favourite Montage!!

This is one of the best lobby longs Ive ever been to. Wonderful seating areas, comfortable chairs, live piano, a fire in the fireplace to tame the chill — all with a spectacular sunset view. And the staff are fast and friendly. Great place to end a day and watch the sun set.

I recently photographed a wedding over Labor Day Weekend at the Montage Laguna Beach. All I can say is, WOW! What an amazing experience! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our bride and groom, making sure their every need was met so they enjoyed a magical wedding day on the oceanfront property. The couple opted for a private outdoor reception in the garden, and it was the perfect location that felt secluded yet still in full view of the water. The chef served a multi course dinner experience that satisfied the guests. The ambience was beautiful, and string lights completed the look for a softly lit tablescape. Finally, there were no end to stunning locations for photos all around the hotel. From the beautiful beach to the gardens with plenty of greenery and benches, we were able to create a variety of photographs that the couple loves from their time at the Montage. Thank you to the Montage for being so easy to work with and making sure we were taken care of from start to finish! I highly recommend this property for any wedding or event you may be considering.
