The doctors are contracted no one oversees their inadequate decisions and the advocate is NOT ON THE PATIENTS SIDE. If you dont like it...too bad.You dont have a prayer of getting a different physician. There arent any others available and they threaten you with a trespassing ticket if you dont discharge on THEIR TERMS. WELCOME TO the COVID-19 WAR. I pray you survive. Critical prescriptions go to the pharmacy incomplete and the prescribing doctor wont respond to make it fillable. RUN... dont walk away from this hell.

Our 4 years old spiked a fever of 107.6 and we brought her to Good Samaritans ER. The nurses were kind to her. However there were things I wish they did better:They kept us in the exam room for over an hour after her COVID test. It was excruciatingly long for a 4 years old, who was not feeling well and hungry (It was close to 6pm). After talking to the nurses, they told us we had to wait in the room until we got the test result, which would be in an hour. It seems there was a pretty big miscommunication between the NP and the other nurses -- I specifically asked the NP NOT to do a COVID *rapid* test but a *regular* COVID PCR test, which wont give a result until tomorrow, rather than in an hour. After repeatedly telling them that my child was not feeling well and claustrophobic in the exam room, they just asked us to keep the exam room door shut and telling me that we were in a hospital and we couldnt expose risks to other patients. When my daughter opened the door again, I apologized that it was hard for a 4 years old to stay in a small room for this long. A male nurse yelled back that But you are her parent! -- My guess is he doesnt have or raise any children.(My thoughts on their response:1. They seem to honor the process (whatever that is, no matter if they screwed it up or not in the first place) way over a young patients wellbeing. It seems as long as they keep the patient alive, they wont bother doing anything beyond that.2. Its quite interesting that how after a COVID test, the patient is suddenly posing health risks to other patients in the hospital, whereas she was not before the COVID test. My other child is having hand foot mouth disease, its quite possible that my older daughter caught that too. I agree that we wont know for sure until a test is done, however, its quite interesting that we were not allowed to leave the hospital if we did COVID test, but we would have been allowed if we didnt.3. It seems they never considered staying in the ER for extended time had increased our risks of catching COVID, given who knows how many COVID patients they were treating at the moment)We will go to a different ER next time. Im concerned about how myself and my family may be treated at Good Samaritan.

The Doctor treated him like a drug seeker, gave him antibiotics, and no inhalers or anything else and sent him home. Husband is now being admitted to hospital because all right side of right pleural area is cloudy with possible infection, husband has lymphoma and is immunocompromised.

Went to the ER and got the wrong diagnosis, which resulted in months of continued pain. Then, they didnt do the billing correctly. They billed my primary insurance as my secondary insurance, and my secondary insurance as my primary. So both claims were denied. Despite being given VERY VERY specific instructions on how to re-submit the billing, they still couldnt do it correctly. They kept re-submitting it the same wrong way they did it the first time. We even had a conference call with their billing department and all the insurance companies to tell them how to do it, and they STILL got it wrong. And in the mean time, they sent me to collections because the bill was unpaid. Yeah, thats a real Good Samaritan for you. Given that there are many hospitals in the area, Id go somewhere else.

I was treated in the ER at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette CO. I underwent a procedure that I have had completed over 100 times since I was young, and on this occasion the doctor that treated me did not perform the procedure correctly which resulted in me having to undergo 3 more very painful procedures, almost 10 days in bed and missed time from work.Upon receiving the ridiculous bill for the procedure that they did not perform correctly, I immediately contacted the hospital and was trying to find out how I can dispute the bill as I should not have to pay for services not rendered as well as the three additional procedures and time off work that I incurred. I spoke with Helena in the patient advocacy department on 6/2/21 who took all details of my visit to the ER and advised that the information would be submitted to the medical director for review and a response would be provided in 7-10 business days.A full month goes by where the hospital is still attempting to collect on the bill as I am awaiting a response from patient advocacy department which I have attempted to contact more than 5 times with no luck! Finally Helena from the patient advocacy department calls me back, and I am advising her that I never received a response and she refuses to give me the response over the phone and claims that they mailed me a letter. I advised I never received a letter in the mail at which time she offers to mail it again, I advised her I was not going to wait for her to attempt to mail it again and that I wanted to know what the response was as I have been waiting over a month vs. the 7-10 days as promised in our initial conversation! Once again she declines to provide me the response, so I ask her to email the response to me which was like pulling teeth to get that accomplished! Its almost as tho they purposely did not want to provide the response and just hoped that I would go away and not pursue it.I finally receive the email I requested with the response from the Medical Directors and the response was that it is not uncommon for my procedure to require subsequent visits. Well Mr/Mrs Medical Director, you are full of it!!!! as I have had this procedure performed over 100 times in my lifetime and NEVER have I required three subsequent procedures and furthermore my primary doctor confirmed that the initial procedure that was performed in the ER was not adequate which resulted in the necessary subsequent visits.I am now faced with almost a $3k bill for services not rendered! I contacted the billing department today to see if the bill could be negotiated as I cannot afford to pay the $3k and I was told that they do not settle or do negotiations of any kind. I might add that there was zero empathy or any level of customer service provided during this interaction. In short, think extra hard before seeking care at this facility as it is clear from my ER visit and every interaction I have experienced thereafter with patient advocacy, Medical Director, and the billing department, that there is not one person that works here that has any adequate knowledge, any empathy for providing the proper care for their patients, and additionally zero responsibility or accountability for the level of medical care they are providing in their facility! Maybe an attorney can hold these folks accountable for their malpractice?!A little hint for all of you people at Bad Samaritan, if you cannot provide adequate medical care, and serve patients with respect and empathy, and be accountable for your actions..maybe you should consider a career change...maybe a morgue! With All of My Sincerity,A truly upset patient!

Had a surgery and overnight there and was the best stay I have ever experienced in a hospital. Between the tech now used for anesthesia, the kind and caring nurses, and the unbelievable meal menu, I almost hated to go by the time all was said and done. If there is any complaint, it might be something my surgeon says happens all the time because of the differing opinions of surgeons and the overwork of nurses: I was instructed not to take off the hard neck brace until the surgeon’s office said otherwise even while sleeping. The instructions left with the hospital, however gave the exception of sleeping. But, as I said, the surgeon is use to hearing this. Erring on the side of caution is a good thing in the medical profession.

I took my son to the Good Samaritan Emergency Room in the middle of the night for a bad sunburn. We got registered and moved into a room quickly. When the physician came in, he examined my son and said to take 2 Tylenol and they would observe him for a bit, then left. An hour passed and a nurse finally came in to see how the Tylenol was working and was surprised to find out no one brought us any. She got the Tylenol, and then we waited for another hour before the nurse came back to tell us we can go home now. No one ever monitored my son and we lost almost three hours in the ER, got two over the counter Tylenol, and paid a $500 co-pay/deductible. The hospital bill (not including the physician bill) was nearly $3,700!! That was for 2 minutes of interaction with a doctor, 5 minutes with a nurse, and another 5 minutes with the front desk person. Their customer service and value for the “service” they provided was atrocious! What’s wrong with medical care in the United States?? This is a start of that conversation.

The staff/ nurses abs doctors did the bare minimum besides giving her a covid test for our 2 year old and today August 17, 2021 we took her in to her doctor and has informed us that she has a sinus infection which she obviously did not just get today, she been having a sinus infection and the fact that the hospital could not diagnose her properly is beyond disappointing and completely unacceptable. How is that the hospital could not do their job correctly abs treat my child properly? It doesnt make sense. The staff and whoever the supervisor is are clearly not doing their job and do not seem to care for their patients but care only for their paycheck. This is the worst hospital abs the worst experience I ever had at a hospital. I will never recommend this hospital for anyone. This place again did the bare minimum for my 2 year old the did not try to check her and go above and beyond to make sure she was okay. The day I delivered my SECOND babe this time being via c section (8/16/21), I had very great experiences but very bad. First off, the doctor was extremely rude. Telling me how I obviously couldn’t handle my pain and I should probably get an epidural. She had no remorse and was downgraded.Nurse MaryEllen was a godsent angel and made things way better.During the procedure everyone else was amazing. The first night, My night nurse, (can’t remember her name) was extremely rude!! She YANKED my catheter out. She man handled my newborn, without really holding his head, and was just awful. The next day, The doctors kept telling me I had to pee, and when I did, it wasn’t enough. They did a bladder scanner and said I had like 500 ml of fluid and I needed it out now even though I peed 400!!!.I told them I didn’t have to pee, and they made me do a straight catheter even though I didn’t need one.even though I’ve mentioned and put on my plan that I DONT want students in my room or even doing my examinations, she proceeded to bring one in. This student stabbed and didn’t put it in correctly which I now, 2 weeks later, have DAMAGE to my urethra. This was the absolute worse thing that could happen. I would’ve rather had tears from a vaginal delivery than to have potentially permanent damage to my urethra. The doctor was nice but made snarky remarks and somewhat made me feel terrible for HER students mistake.By the way, once they put a catheter in again after the failed straight catheter, I didn’t have more than 30 ml. Which I literally had just drank water. The second night was amazing with our night nurse, Jena? (I believed that’s her name). She was so sweet and took really good care of me and my baby.I’m glad I’m not having more babies, I wouldn’t come back again, honestly.

Looks like it was the only doctor for the entire emergency room. The doctor seemed to be in a hurry, he didnt do anything to my dad and he left. The doctor didnt give us a chance to ask him any questions. The only thing the Dr told us that my dad was ok and he can just put his socks on and there was the door. He didnt let me ask any questions and he quicky left.My dad had the same issue years ago we went to another emergency room and the doctor stitched him up and took care of him and addressed all of our concerns and he gave him pills for the pain but this hospital was by far the worst. No advice or anything. My dad has kaiser permanente as his insurance and its one of the closest hospitals that we could go as an emergency. I swear kaiser chose the wrong hospital. This hospital needs to put more doctors in the emergency room. Theres ppl waiting for hours and not getting the help they need. Yet they love to take thousands of dollars off from patients. I hope the government puts a stop to these money mobsters and control and limit the prices they love to take on patients who can no longer afford one hospital bill. Enough is enough. My elderly father has again been released in big trouble. Admitted for pneumonia, which was apparently forgotten. His kidney function is down, so they spent three days pumping him full of fluid, then released him with pitting edema and lungs so fluid filled that he is requiring triple the oxygen he was on when admitted. Fluid was literally leaking out of the skin on his swollen arms. We’re now at another hospital. His ekg is now abnormal. They have to admit him to get his fluid balanced. His first admission was worse. They literally released him with a blood infection and pneumonia. He almost died. It resulted in a lengthy stay, where he wasMisdiagnosed and given an unnecessary surgical procedure, which later had to be reversed. The patient rep pretended to care, and promised to send me a summary of their investigation. Nothing. Also, they do the bare minimum if there is no family present. Too busy to help him walk to the bathroom, and they don’t do prescribed breathing treatments unless they know you’re watching.Keep family with your patient at ALL times, ask questions, and call them out when several different docs tell you several different things. They keep trying to kill my Dad.Update: he has been admitted to a different hospital, where they will correct the edema and check out his heart. His lungs are drowning in excess fluid, gasping for breath.Update: New hospital got the fluid off of him, and now he can breathe again. Good Sam also missed a problem with his heart. Now SCL made a mistake and listed him as a woman, resulting in their claim being denied. Do they answer the billing phone numbers? No! They “can’t” answer today, per their message. They refer everybody to this Helena. I went through the whole process with her supervisor, and was promised an investigation (of the time they released him unable to breathe and failed to diagnose a serious blood infection) which apparently never happened. He has gotten beautiful, thorough, attentive care at Saint Joe’s, praise God.

The incompetence of this ER is astounding. I was an EMT-B in 911 and an ER tech for several years. In all that time I have never been more disappointed at the lack of medical intelligence. The term triage is used to give priority to patients based on need. The “triage” here is a pathetic excuse. I brought my Wife into the ER who presented with 10/10 pelvic pain and she was not given priority. The fact that our on-call physician who works here told us to come here because they would be “expecting us”. The staff sang a different tune. The male receptionist stated that we were not actually expected but that the term expected is used internally for doctor’s notes. Truly astounding. I’ve worked at several different ERs and at all of them we took the term “expected” to mean expect a patient. That means have a space for them in a reasonable about of time. The drive to this ER took over 20 minutes, a reasonable amount of time when a physician told the staff the expect a patient. After roughly 30 minutes of sitting in the lobby -my Wife literally writhing in pain- the triage nurses brought her back to a triage space as they stated no rooms were available. I’m sure Good Samaritan has a myriad of excuses for how a patient could sit in their ER in 10/10 pain but bottom line is that is poor medicine. Very very poor medicine. As if the the utter lack of a sense of urgency wasn’t enough for this ER, their triage staff -seemed to be nurses- did not know what an anembryonic pregnancy (blighted ovum) was..... disappointing. Deeply disappointing as this condition is the leading causes of first trimester miscarriage in the world according to a mid 2000’s study found on nih.gov. It’s one thing to simply not know such a condition but the “nurse” felt it necessary for some reason to repeatedly ask my wife if she meant an ectopic pregnancy. Those don’t even almost sound similar. It is clear the triage staff do not actually listen to the words of patients and they just try to push people through a triage form they likely have a minimal understanding of. When someone presents with 10/10 pain, especially pelvic pain after taking medication to induce the miscarriage, you do not ask them the general entrance questions for a an ER walk-in. Another indicator that the triage staff likely does not know how to handle situations or administer medical care, rather they simply complete a form with apparently no empathy towards patients. I would urge any potential patients to not walk into this ER, apparently having a physician let them now you’ll be there also means nothing to them. I’d suggest driving here and calling an ambulance to take you the 100ft from the parking lot to the ER so that the triage staff cannot interfere with their abundant incompetence. The EMS staff have authority to walk you directly into the ER. Not to mention they will actually have empathy, at least everyone I ever worked with in EMS always did. Do not come here unless your situation is near trivial and you have an abundance of time to waste.

Dec. 30, 2020 I was told by E.R. Dr. Brooks, from SCL Health Northglenn, to go to Good Samaritan , Lafayette or Lutheran to get an MRI. I chose GoodSamaritan, Lafayette. I was checked in to the E.R. and soon learned of my Nurse Katie and Physicians Assistant Boone. Boone along side of nurse Katie told me that I am not supposed to use the E.R. for an express MRI. I told them that DR. Brooks recommended I do because he was concerned of an aneurysm. They said they were going to send me home with a prescription of Valium. I argued that was not the reason I am here. I said, Dr. Brooks wants me to receive an MRI. I did get the MRI. The ladies in the imaging room were very kind. When the MRI was finished I was put back in the E.R. room. Boone and Nurse Katie (Katherine L.) told me there was nothing on the MRI but an old aneurysm in my neck. I was given a prescription for Valium and told to go home. I had a bunch of questions and at that time Boone left the room. I continued to ask questions to Nurse Katie, her response to me...YOU JUST WANT ME TO TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE GOING TO DIE!!! I SAID , EXCUSE ME? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME? SHE SAID, YOU JUST WANT ME TO TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE GOING TO DIE!!!!! THE DOOR OF THE ROOM WAS WIDE OPEN, I RIPPED OFF MY HOSPITAL ROBE, IM STARK NAKED, I DID NOT CARE, EVERYONE COULD SEE ME, I PUT MY CLOTHES ON AS FAST AS I COULD AND GOT OUT OF THERE AS FAST AS I COULD. I HAVE CONTACTED THE PEOPLE THAT HANDLE THIS TREATMENT AND NOTHING, I MEAN NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. WHAT IF I WAS A COVID PATIENT? WOULD NURSE KATIE TELL THEM THAT ?????? TOTAL UNPROFESSIONAL AND THIS IS NOT OVER BY ANY MEANS. CHOOSE LUTHERAN! AND THIS IS A RELIGIOUS HOSPITAL???? TELLING PATIENTS THAT THEY WANT TO HEAR THEY ARE GOING TO DIE????? GIVE ME A BREAK.

Sadly can’t give them zero stars . This place is horrible they don’t know how to sanitize anything nor do they separate COVID patients from regular patients. They take forever to get the smallest things done I have came in at about 10 am it’s 12 pm now and have yet to be seen but patients who were here after me went in before I did and I was there to be treated for COVID. I have since left I would rather go else where to get checked I don’t wanna risk giving anyone anything or catching something from one of they’re seats. Would not recommend you coming here it’s a waste of time all they want is money

I took someone here, who was really sick. I put my mask on And did the responsible and kind thing. Insensitive and heartless attendant in the hospital Told me that nobody could wait inside but that I had to be outside in the cold. Yet he allowed others to be outside. Just kind of heartless treatment lets me know that this institution is only about money and they really do not care about human beings. I will never go here or take anybody here again. This is disgraceful.

Unfortunately the ER last night was not nice or understanding and was extremely rude because someone had OD... makes me upset because regardless its a person an everyone makes mistakes.

I had horrible pains and went to an urgent care by my house. The doctor there said I needed a CT scan immediately and she couldnt help me anymore. She sent me to the emergency room at Good Samaritans. From walking in, I felt well taken care of. I absolutely hate going to the doctor and going to the ER is the worst for me. Being in the hospital is never pleasant for anyone however, the staff at Good Sams made it much more tolerable. The staff there was able to explain everything so a normal person could understand it. My wife delivered our baby here and I cant give any higher praise to the entire crew at Good Sam. I coached two births at North suburban and its truly incredible to see how much better the service, amenities, and capacity there is at Good Sam in comparison. Our baby spent time in the NICU and every person involved was incredible. The nurses couldnt be more helpful, especially Stacy, who taught our classes and eventually delivered our baby. If you are deciding where to have your baby look no further.

I would not recommend this hospital. The end of life care my aunt recieved on the ICU was deplorable. RN (Grace), MDs & the Priest (Ron Brouer) extremely lacked compassion and the sheer ability of communication. I have reached out to the chief operating officer as our request for a hospital advocate was ignored. Unfortunately, no one has returned my calls. I guess the only way training and change will happen is to contact @fox31news.

Just left good Samaritan Hospital emergency room. I went there because the urgent care center refused to see me because they thought I had Covid symptoms. I was given IV fluids, a strep test, a chest X-ray, an EKG, heart monitor, a lot of blood tests but none of them were a test for Covid. I was seen by Dr Flynn and nurse Katie who left me in an 8 x 8 room for quite a long time. I tried to call out to a nurse because the blood pressure cuff was put on around my elbow instead of my upper arm and was really painful but no one would answer me even though I could hear them socializing outside the room. When I asked Dr Flynn if he tested me for Covid he responded no but we can do that. I feel very frustrated with this place! I would not of come there and unless I was really worried about having Covid.

A family member recently had the opportunity to check in here. First it was the ER, then transfer to a private room. The entire time my family member was here, he was treated very well. The ER was absolutely packed the night he was taken there, but everything was done in an orderly fashion. There were plenty of employees on hand, which helped to make thing run smoothly. As I have already stated, my family member was transferred to a private room late that night. When we visited the next day, everything was orderly, clean, quiet, and nice. The hospital is very clean, things are marked with easy to read signage too.We had the opportunity to eat in the cafeteria, which is your average cafeteria. There is a Grill, for burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, and fries. There are ready made salads, as well as a salad bar, drinks, and other snacks. The price is a little high, but its what you expect. There is plenty of parking, so dont worry about that. They are open all hours, and ready to help you with any of your needs. When it came time to check out, the nurse noticed something else about my family member, which was immediately taken care of. Thank goodness! Thanks, Good Samaritan, for taking wonderful care of my family member. It was truly appreciated at a very stressful time.

Delivered our baby here and we had an awesome experience with the doctors/nurses/hospital stay, however, everything afterward has been terrible. To summarize, Good Samaritan gave us our hospital bill before leaving, which we paid in full, as I would find it to be the correct thing to do for the services rendered. It looked reasonable for matching what our insurance plan was (they were unable to provide an itemized receipt upon request). However, it turns out that we were not supposed to pay anything close to what our bill was. Unsuccessfully, I attempted to have a productive conversation with them over the phone and in person. Consider this odd, but I was told by the staff at Good Sam that they do not look at or have access to my health insurance plan copays/coinsurance through Kaiser and that the bill we received was just an estimate. They have also found it necessary to professionally point the finger at Kaiser because they had not yet paid Good Sam (Kaiser has informed us that they have yet to receive a statement from Good Sam... 6 weeks later. Kaiser has also informed us that Good Sam does, in fact, have access to our insurance plan and we were told that Good Sam is notorious for doing exactly what they did with us). All in all, this has just been a big case of poor communication between 2 large companies. Kaiser has been helpfully informative and polite throughout the process, while the staff at Good Samaritan has been more worried about defending their decisions, pointing fingers with excuses, and uninterested in improving upon the problems I have brought to their attention. Again, from what weve heard this is not uncommon practice for this hospital, so I would advise caution and further inquiry.

My mom went to the E.R three times and was admitted two of those times this month. She was on the fourth floor the first admission and from beginning to end the stay was pleasant. Second admit she started out on 2nd floor Observation and the care there was amazing I wish I could remember all the nurses, Techs, Respiratory, Dialysiss names> I stood the night with my mom and she got the best care. The Doctor was just so informative and Gentle. When the staff said they would be back to check on my mom or give her a treatment they kept their word. Dialysis nurse was busy when I went to go see my mom during her treatment and he got me in the hall to see if I had a questions and let me know what was going on with my mom. They kept me in the loop and we made a plan to get my mom better. The communication was amazing and lets dont forget about the monitor techs that monitored my moms telemetry and 02 sat. They called the nurse right away when they seen oxygen go down. They deserve so much recognition for they are life savers that are not seen. The hospital was so clean and quiet. Every department was so nice and offered assistants if needed. even respiratory offered to get me a blanket. I cant say enough good things about the staff but Thank you It ment so much to me and my mom felt safe.Thank youHappy HolidaysRenee Morgan Daughter

Towards the end it seemed as though I was there a little longer than I needed to be. I have had two family members ages 69 and 75 come to this hospital within weeks of each other needing surgery because of cancer. One who is in the hospital now after needing ER surgery twice. Is there a reason why staff forget to feed them when family is not around? Is there a reason why my family can not get a shower after days of being in bed after surgery unless a family member asks when we come and visit? When we ask staff for a shower the response was oh you want a shower. Is there a reason why staff got upset when one of my family members could not reach the call button because it fell and they had to scream for help? Once visiting family was able to visit and told about the incident the family member tried to justify their actions by saying they were busy. I know that their is a staffing matrix for this reason, so that patients are cared for in a safe manner and their health needs can be met. I am very disappointed with this hospital and if I could move my family hospitals I would do it in a heartbeat. When family is not there to speak for the family members in time of need we are at home hoping and expecting staff to provide the basic needs for our family members so they can continue to get healthy so they can reach their goal of going home. Im just shocked that this has happened to both my family members and that it is happening at all. From reading the comments I need to take my family to the labor and delivery floor for good care.

Update: The hospital confirms that this disregard of proper medical practice is their normal standard of care. Not surprising. Their doctors have a very poor grasp of pharmacology, which is terrifying given the setting.Their doctors flagrantly perform malpractice and lie in their medical records. This hospital is a disgrace to the medical profession. They told me the wound on the left would heal fine, did a mental health eval while I was still sedated, and shipped me to a hospital where I wouldn’t have access to medical care. The photo on the right is a week later, when a surgeon evaluated it as needing immediate surgical treatment and IV antibiotics as at that point I was going septic.ETA: The photos are graphic so Google isnt posting them.
