I’m new to Lafayette so when I needed care I googled nearest emergency room and ended up at Lafayette General. I walked in and to be honest the lobby looked a bit scetch. I was taken back and triaged and taken directly to my room. The doctor and nurses came in and explained everything and ordered the tests needed. They were so thorough and caring. I was so very impressed by their level of professionalism and empathy. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars.A month later I had to go back to the emergency room and under the advice of a coworker went instead to The Heart Hospital. I have to say I was unimpressed. It was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with medical care. They were dismissive and uncaring and told me quite frankly that as long as they treat the emergency and it’s no longer life threatening they will send me home regardless of the pain and regardless if they know what the problem is or not. Needless to say I will NEVER be going there again for anything.Thank you Lafayette General you are the best hospital I’ve ever had to visit.

I had a wonderful experience at this hospital on 4-17-2021, I had injured two of my fingers, one being partially amputated. Arrived on a Saturday night and was in surgery within an hour. Staff was excellent, sympathetic and courteous. Couldn’t really ask for much better treatment than I received! Great job

I can’t decide what was worse - the staff’s breathtaking level of incompetence, or how unapologetic they were about it.

While being here for surgery is no fun, the hospital is nice overall and staff is very friendly. If you’re ever going to die, I guess this is just as good of a place as any

Worst hospital in Lafayette! Don’t go to the ER and do not have your child there. Completely inconsiderate, rude, uncaring, and sociopathic staff. If you ever find yourself at this place lookout for a certain male ER doctor and then make sure to get a copy of any charges and do a follow up for magical charges that may not appear immediately. Don’t expect quality of care, this place has no regard for their patients.

Lafayette General Medical Center ICU. The ICU was the best place for my Son after his accident. They took such great care of Him. My Husband and I couldn’t ask for better. The morning shift and the evening shift would call me after every shift to give me the updates before they switched.

Lafayette General Medical Center is the best hospital in Lafayette, LA. I have used this hospital for at least 40 years. Most everyone in Lafayette knows this is the best hospital. No hospital is perfect. The negative reviews shown here is an overkill.

My husband had surgery here 7/1/2020, heart stent surgery then on 7/2/2020 emergency surgery to replace the failed new stent from the day before and to remove a DVT...Was told i would not be able to stay after 8pm on 7/2/2020 because they have reverted back to a no visitors policy apparently from the increased covid activityAnd then he finds this in his bathroom and YES that is a BEDBUG...In his bathroomIn his hospital roomRm# 319On the 3rd floorThis is very unsanitary, a call will be made Monday morning to address this and the treatment he is recieving or should i say is not recieving like he should be

A 4hr wait just for blood test. Was told it would be no more than 2hours maybe shorter. Will be looking elsewhere from now on

Horrible, DO NOT come here! The wait is long & not worth the time & money! Cant even see a doctor, you will see a NP that doesnt know anything. They forgot to test me for several things, they dont care!

Hospital is new and updated, but theyre either understaffed or slow at taking in new patients in the emergency room. Been waiting here for more than a few hours with the same patients now.
