The doctor my son sees has been hassling me about my child’s weight. At first I was okay and happy that they cared when he lost weight (1 pound right after he learned how to walk and was before hand a chubby baby) but since then I have gotten homework where I’m supposed to record everything he eats for two weeks and then again after that and so on basically every appointment. I have let them know I am constantly feeding my son a variety of foods all day as he is my life as a stay at home mom and it seems they don’t believe me. I am feeling very disrespected as a parent and two days ago after his last appointment there they measured his weight at 18 pounds 14 ounces (he is 9 months old.) when I was accused once again of not feeding my child enough even though he hasn’t lost weight since he learned to walk, just not gained as fast as when he wasn’t mobile it was the last straw for me. I broke down crying while talking to my mother about it and she scheduled my son an appointment for the next day at healthy horizons (I would’ve changed earlier if I had known my insurance would cover it) where they weighed him at 19 pounds 12 ounces. I am very upset with this health center and feel disrespected and exasperated especially because I told them there may be something wrong with their scale and I also have repeatedly told them about my husband who was just like my son in the weight department as a baby. Don’t take your babies here they don’t know what they are talking about.

I had a strange but very incredible visit here today. Andrea from the receptionist on the first floor, went above and beyond for her patients including me, I’m very happy that this establishment has knowledgeable and caring staff

I am new resident to the Lafayette. I have felt very comfortable with the front desk staff. I give it 5 stars due to their professionalism, efficiency, and how fast they are to make my appointment and get the help I need. I have had an amazing experience with Riggs. I received so much information and they have made feel super at ease with my process they made the process super easy for me.

The first time I saw them I was 6 months pregnant I had an appointment the same day where I let them know I was in pain for the past month they said my baby was fine after letting me hear the “heart beat” (which was really mine). My baby had passed almost a month prior! This is the second time seeing them I had an ultrasound done at the hospital they sent over my results to Riggs I’ve had pain and bleeding for them to not tell me the results before closing Friday and being told I could try back Monday! The care here is horrible!

I wanted to say I appreciate the staff at Riggs. I went into my appointment as a new patient hoping I could afford the visit and I walked out eligible for their sliding scale fee and temporary insurance, along with an appointment to finalize my insurance application. The front desk was excellent. I saw Practitioner Shanley for my visit and she/her staff were incredible. I walked out of the office with a plan and hope to get my diabetes under control. After reading about Riggs in previous reviews I was nervous but the care I received was outstanding.

I had an appointment at the womens center and they were the nicest and most reassuring staff I have seen in my life. From the receptionist, to the nurse, and the phlebotomist in the lab too, I usually have anxiety about dr.s appointments but they all made me feel so comfortable.

This place is awful. Ive been with them for a month, and theyve already screwed up my prescription three times in a row, cancelled my appt that Id waited a month for, the doctor didnt give me the referral that I need, and they called me to tell me I dont have arthritis in my shoulder...good to know, but they were supposed to be looking for an impingement. A lot of incompetence at Riggs.

This is one of the worst community health centers that I have ever been a patient at. The administrator Don Phillips does his best to fix things when he is on site but he cant be there 24-7. The staff is lazy rude unprofessional and seems poorly trained at best. Even the Medical Records clerk Gail is rude condescending and lazy. It literally takes her over 3 weeks to gather records. Records needed to change physicians. The turn over rate there is awful and there is no continuity of care which is very important to most teenagers. A familiar face always helps. But you go to one person a month or so have to go back and they are literally gone. And they are the worst for loosing paper work. I thought it would be a great choice for our medical needs but it has truly only been a long drawn out nightmare. And the administrator cant do his job and everyone elses man this place needs to be shook up....

My daughters doctor and her nurse are great. I have a major problem with taking my daughter in for her appointment and finding out her doctor is leaving in a couple days. I asked why we we were not notified and was told they were told not to say anything. Very very unhappy about this.

What I dont understand is how is the staff there working when 1 ..nobody never or should I say rarely answers the phone...2..if everyone works at the same place..than why so many confusion on the same topic! Why tell me to bring in a form for them to fill out so my son can ply sports only to go up there and do as I was told only to inform me that whoever I spoke to got it wrong that it actually take up to five days..now my son cant play because of deadline issues that this silly place wanna take when it really dont take much to fill out a physical especially if the patient has been already seen..smh..if you dont like yall job change it..simple

I have been trying to get ahold of them for awhile just to talk to ONE person i have left multiple voice messages and they never call me back. Im glad its not a consenting reason. So just a heads up if you go to riggs and your trying to contact your doctor about something you might think it concerning DONT just go to the hospital.

The worst service I have ever received,I was referred to them as a post surgery check-up,I had a 1:00 pm appointment sat in the waiting room full of sick people for 4 hours before being taken to an exam room where I again sat for 45 minutes only to be see by a nurse practitioner, who said they couldnt get my records from the hospital, was sent on my way with really no service. A few days later I was sick from what the people n the waiting room had. and to top it off they stewed up my bill, I will never go back!

Oh where to begin. Ive put up with this system for several years now. I am SO happy that my doctor decided to leave! I can now see her elsewhere (already have an appointment scheduled) and at last am free of Riggs. Let me be clear that there are/were some good people at Riggs, But the SYSTEM is outrageous. Let the rant begin.Trying to get through by phone is an exercise in futility. Callbacks? Maybe...if youre lucky. The final straw was today, when I called to see where I should pick up a controlled substance script which my doctor had kindly written at my last appointment, a month ago, so that I would not have to go without my meds for a month and would have time to schedule an appointment with her at her new place for my regular 3-month check.I tried to call several times and when I finally DID get through they dropped my call while transferring it. About an hour later I get a call from them. I said Oh, I was just trying to reach you, I need to find out where to pick up my script. To which the woman responds Thats why Im calling, theyre not giving any more controlled substance scripts till you see doctor so-and-so, the CEO. First appointment available? Halfway through September! I tried to explain that my doctor had written the script and was leaving it for me to AVOID just such a situation, but she was having none of it.Now my controlled substance is Adderall, which makes my life a great deal easier, but at least if I am without it I dont go through withdrawals, I just get a little nuttier. But what about the people taking pain meds and such which would produce SEVERE withdrawal symptoms if stopped suddenly? Is that a lawsuit or two I smell in the making? This is beyond outrageous. If theyre angry at my doctor for leaving what good is it to take it out on her patients by making it difficult for them? If its all about the see-how-were-cracking-down-on-this-drug-thing it STILL makes no sense. Im all for cracking down on people getting scripts they shouldnt be getting. But somehow this isnt being done across the board, no matter HOW big a noise theyre making about it. Im here to tell you, if they kept EVERYONE on as tight a leash as they did me, there wouldnt be anyone sliding through the cracks.Dont get me wrong, aside from the inconvenience I dont mind a bit because I have nothing to hide. I dont even drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes. Test me any time, no problem. Youll find exactly whats prescribed to me AND NOTHING ELSE. But somehow as I said this isnt practiced without prejudice. Some people, for whatever reason, are evidently more testable than others. So the end of it is that they are just going through all this gobbly-gook for show, or to be douche bags or whatever. They said to me that since my doctor isnt there they arent handing out prescriptions from her. Soo...what about my blood pressure meds? Thyroid? Anti-depressant? Because if its liability theyre trying to avoid, ANY drug would qualify, not just controlled substances. And if the doctor is able to write those OTHER prescriptions and Riggs is honoring THOSE refills, then the others should be just as valid. Either the doctor is licensed to write the prescriptions or not.I hardly think any reasonable person would penalize a doctor for trying to make a smooth transition for her patients. But then Riggs does not fit the category of reasonable.

I have been going to the Riggs since the beginning of my pregnancy and everyone has been very nice. I was informed about the browser for not having insurance. I made an appointment with Miss Michelle Lopez on June 2 and I cant thank her enough for all the help she gave me. He even called me to reassure me about the cost of my own payment. She made me aware of my payments and even gave me resources that I could use during my pregnancy.
