Im a regular at another salon near my home; however, I was leaving town and they were booked. I decided to try King J Nail.The overall appearance and organization of the business seemed nice. I was told to sign up on the tablet upon entry. The gentleman at the desk pointed out where to go next. I was paired with Cindy.I requested a pedicure and manicure with dip powder. Cindy began running the water. She signaled for me to put my feet in. The water was very hot. I told her, and she did adjust the temperature. She asked if I wanted to cut down my nails.Please note that I did have dip powder on my nails from my regular salon. Keep in mind, this typically last 3 weeks for me with my regular salon. I was at about 3 1/2 weeks. I needed a manicure and trim. The powder was still in tack...nails were just too long.She began trimming. She then signaled for me to place my hands in the soaker. She returned to my feet to began pedicure. This was okay. I wish that she would have been a bit more detail oriented because some sides werent polished. Of course, I didnt notice everything until after.We moved to the nail table. Where she called over another young lady who needed to learn how to perform the dip powder. She went right into the process. I asked for a manicure, but I guess you cant do both here. She continued to mess up nails and redo them.To make matters worse, she did not match nail lengths to both hands. There was also an additional clear polish that was applied. This began to peel while I was away on my trip. By the third day, the nail polish was chipping.I have been getting the dip powder for at least 6 months. As I mentioned before, It always last about 3 weeks and my nails are fully protected.The color of the polish that I picked out was the only thing that I liked. At check out, the gentlemen added a $5 charge. I assume it was a tip. I still left Cindy a $13 tip because I believe in tipping. I paid with cash, and I told him that I didnt need change. It was Cindys tip. He counted the money twice and then proceeded to tell me okay good. Some times when all you focus on is your tip thats all you get. Unfortunately, I do not plan on returning.

Does the second time I came here first time it was phenomenal this time delay for rust I told which packers I wanted which included the milk be warmed importance of my legs I didn’t know that at the time but that’s fine that’s what I chose she was like oh you talk now that’s it milk done ha haI mean maybe because I’m a male and I don’t come often but it states that I get a 15 minute massage but she gets up so it’s OK you’re done when I mentioned the massage she said no it’s part of the whole process when your feet in the water ani was like no you were cleaning off the clay or what ever o no you done thank you.Maybe it was just who was assigned to me idk but for the price I expected a little more than laughter because I over paid for 2 seconds of milk poured on my feet I’m ok with that I’m ok with the no massage but it was kinda rushed idk not my cup of teaStill have wax on my feet man look at this w.e

I’ve been going here for a few months now. I’ve always had a great experience until today’s visit. Mindy did a great job on my pedicure as always. What the issue is, the tech who did my nails (I think her name is Alaina) started to become rude when I asked her to fix a few nails because they weren’t to my liking. I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary after leaving the shop and my nails are already chipping and look horrible. For the extra $30 just for the set alone, I will not return for this service…

This is my absolute favorite nail salon in the Lafayette area and I’ve been coming as a regular customer since they opened post covid. This was my first time having an experience not up to their usual standards. Within two days of getting a full set with color acrylic I lost a nail. I don’t blame anyone but myself on the first one because I thought I just hit my hand too hard. However, within the first week of having my new set the acrylic began to pop up around my nail bed on almost all of my nails. It has been a very painful and aggravating two weeks. I usually can get at least 3-4 weeks before getting a new set but not after this appointment. Very disappointed but I will be returning because everyone has an off day. If this appointment isn’t up to my standard I may have to switch salons.

Oh how I love this place!! Lynn is the absolute BEST!!!! I showed her what I wanted and she did it and MORE!! Going forward, she’s the nail tech I’ll always go to. She’s great at what she does. Definitely recommending this place to all my family and friends! 10/10!!

The best place to get pedicures. The nail salon is so clean and they have so many options nail colors and service wise. The lady i had today for my detox pedicure was so attentive and kind. Would def recommend for a treat yourself kind of day!

My first visit here would have been a 5 star rating if I wouldnt have done eyelashes, which I never do! The tech I had for my nails and pedi was excellent, gonna call him Ben bc I dont want to spell it wrong. Best pedi I ever had!! When it came to my lashes, it burned the whole time I was getting them done. 1.5 hours later still red and burning and started falling off by the end of the day. They did try to make it right by fixing them with no charge. The girl who fixed them did better, no burning, but she did a more dramatic look when I wanted natural. They looked ok so I didnt complain but again they did not last more than 3-4 days when told they last at least 10-14 depending on care. Also, my daughter got her lashes done and they only lasted a few days. Nails lasted a good 3 weeks before I went in for my refill, but when I realized I couldnt get a regular refill bc I had color acrylic, I said I wanted to redo them. Apparently I was misunderstood bc the girl started doing a refill with regular acrylic. Before she got to far into it I asked if that was the right way but again must not have understood what I was asking so we keep going. I picked a dark gel polish so I figured it would be ok. The polish was not ok so she had to put a black base under the color to not see a difference in color from color acrylic to regular. I didnt have time to start over with a new set so I agreed it was ok and would get a new set next time. The next night I noticed a bubble in the polish that started peeling. I called and they said they would fix the polish but if I wanted to do a new set, since I wasnt happy with them from start, Id have to pay the difference from the refill. Now its been just 4 days since my refill and 2 more nails have peeled and the refilled acrylic chipped. So I now have 3 broken nails. I dont live in Lafayette so I cant just up and go whenever to get 1 nail fixed. It is a very nice place so even though a little higher priced than my normal place, I may continue to go for pedicures strictly from Ben.

Be very aware ladies. These people are charging for gel polish whether you want it or not!!!!! Price list in the business and online says 35.00 and up for full set. I wanted a regular set, nothing special and REGULAR polish and was charged 45.00. Their explanation was it doesn’t matter what polish you choose it is 45.00 and up🤦🏾‍♀️ And they asked about a tip. So sorry false advertisement was the tip

So, I paid 50$ for this mess yesterday 2/10/2021. I asked for dip and apparently they dont know how to do it. Anyways, I went to this nail salon because my wedding is this Sunday. When I saw my nails I literally cried as soon as I stepped out the door and even my friend that was with me said that they look like MOUNTAINS.Not Clean- she use the nail cuticle spoon pusher and the cuticle nipper and didnt even clean it with alcohol for the next person. *** NOTE: SOME TIMES YALL MAKE PEOPLE BLEED WITH THOSE TOOLS.

The people in there are so nice. It was my first time there and it most definitely wont be my last. They will be my go to for now on .

I have been a loyal customer to another salon for 4 years, but I heard good things about this place and decided to switch it up. Everybody is SO kind and the lady who did my eyebrows did an amazing job. I’d probably go back just for that! Unfortunately, my gel polish came off within a week of getting them done and my pedicure was pretty close to terrible, it doesn’t even look like my heels were touched. Their prices are great, but I guess you get what you pay for. Will not be returning .

My pedicure was relaxing... the lavender scrub and lotion was soothing and fragrant which added to my relaxation and enjoyment of my pedi... i love the large selection of gel polish and will return in 2 weeks for another pedicure... thank you King J Salon for a relaxing Sunday afternoon!!!

First time going. Beautiful place just felt like a rush job our nail tech did. Got gel nails they started lifting had bubbles within a few hours. But I will give them another shot.

The place was very nice and inviting. I decided to get the $45 detox pedicure, worst pedicure ever. The lady that did my pedicure didnt do a good job and the $45 detox pedicure is just a bunch of liquids they put on your feet and the massage was supposed to be for 10 minutes she did 5 minutes cause she was in a rush for the next customer. Ive had better pedicures in the past and this one was not one of them.

The price for a gel manicure was $25. I found that to be quite reasonable. The place is very well laid out there are plenty of pedicure chairs and manicure stations. I like the fact that they have two waiting areas and they also have two waxing rooms as well as a facial room. The place is very bright very clean and elegant. The reason for my lower rating is that my gel manicure is a very simple manicure however I had dust particles left on my finish. my manicurist didnt allow me to watch my hands until she was done with the manicure. This is why there are dust particles from when she was buffing my nails that ended up on the top coat. Anyone who gets regular manicures knows that this can be an issue. I only get clear on my nails so its not as visible as it would have been if it was a color. That is still no reason to have a sub par finish.

Was very pleased with the fact they were able to match my wish pic for my nails almost exactly, however the price was outrageous and I wish I would have known before. The manicure on my boyfriend along with his pedicure was great the lady did a wonderful job, however my pedicure was not and my toe polish was awful, my toe nails are a tad smaller so I understand it takes a little patience to get them correctly but two of my toes were only partially polished and after I specifically told the lady not to cut my nails down she did anyways.

The prices are a little steep, but I was very satisfied with all the services. Mrs. Lin, Mr. Henry, and Kelly all are awesome. It was my first time here, and I will be coming back from now on.

Expensive and they didnt do the best job. Didnt clean up when getting the polish on your fingers or toes. Really dissatisfied with the manicure. Stayed in the pedicure chair and it was very rushed. Expected better for 30 bucks. Cuticle care and cut down just wasnt great. The wait was long and they basically tell everyone 30 minutes and tell you over and over that you are next. More about in and out give me your money then quality. Disappointed we cant find a good quality salon around Lafayette.

The pedicure was okay. I purchased the most expensive one the King J. I know how it is you have to know who is good and who is not when you go in so getting the top notch service will usually get you a decent job until you learn what’s what. I’m new in town and went there on a referral. I didn’t have an appointment so I know I would not get the most experienced technician but the tech didn’t even put a base coat the polish is uneven thick in some areas and see through in others. They didn’t even get under the nail with the cleaning. A beautiful establishment but for the $70 I spent for a pedicure and eyebrow wax it should have been much better even with an inexperienced technician. Eyebrows are okay though.

Service was fast and amazing! Trang and Austin gave great customer service and both were awesome! My pedicure was above excellent and my nails came out beautiful! Everyone complimented them! I’ll definitely be returning for more services!

Sooooooo love King J Nails and Spa, this was my first experience. They caught me and seated me as soon as I entered. Very friendly staff, I did pedi and mani. I love both. The inside is breathtaking, very peaceful and elegant. The only thing is their a little steep in price a little more higher than I paid in other nail shops. But I paid cheaper at other nail shops and was unsatisfied so Im really contemplating the both for return visit.

I have been a customer of this family (Cathy’s Nails as well) since I moved to Lafayette 4 years ago. It’s nice to see how much they have grown but unfortunately their customer service has suffered greatly. There’s no personal experience with the tech and the job is rusher. Not to mention they are very overpriced!!!!!! Disappointed....

Horrible! First and last time going here! Yes beautiful ambiance but they try to upcharge everything..just a toe nail polish change 15.00...tech told me got 20 people working..beautiful place..U GOTTA PAY EVERYTHING EXPENSIVE HERE...SAD! Horrible just Horrible Im a long time customer there and im very very disappointed and unhappy with my nails they are all misshapen 75 dollars wasted im not sure if im going to go back thinking of finding a new nail place not to mention that the staff was rude and told me one price before i started doing my nails and when I got to the front desk to pay it was way higher than what was said earlier it was supposed to be 65 and i got charged 75 im seriously considering finding a new place to have my nails done

I want to get a pedicure and gel polish. I spent $70. The nail tech asked what kind of pedicure I wanted. She didn’t understand what I was saying so I pointed to the one I wanted. Milk and honey but instead I got oranges. I wanted white nails with glitter on the big toe. That never happened. I got gel polish on my nails. She never asked the shape or if they needed to be cut down she just did them. The next day they started peeing offf. It’s now 4 days later and all my nails are peeling. It’s a very nice place. Clean clean and elegant but the services are horrible. I’m so disappointed.

My nail tech Lynn was amazing, she was so patient and took time to make sure my nails looked good and didnt make me feel bad when i wanted to change something, she even let me borrow her phone charger lol

Today everything that could go wrong did. On top of that my usual nail tech turned me away (I’m a regular). I was ready to cry so I just wanted to be pampered. I heard about this place from my sister and decided to try for myself. KAVEN greeted me at the door along with the receptionist. I was seated instantly! KAVEN made sure to make me feel comfortable (not knowing of my day)! I’m so pleased that I will now come here instead! Thank you so much! You turned my day around!

Basic pedicure was $30 and horrible. My heels look rough like I’ve scraped them across jagged concrete and my polish is uneven on my toes & misshapen. Will look for a different place for pedicures. The place is beautiful though.

Ok so this is my HORRIBLE experience with King J. I got my nails done Tuesday, Aug 4th. It was a new set and I was charged 80 dollars (not including tip) because two nails had diamonds. I usually dont pay that much for my nails but I did because I THOUGHT it was quality work. Two days later a lot of my diamonds were falling off. Three days later my nail completely broke off and blood was everywhere. On Monday, August 10 I went to get it fixed. They charged me 15 dollars because they said it was the nail with the diamonds I thought that was unfair because I had just got them done and my diamonds had mostly fallen off anyway AND I paid a lot of money for the diamonds. The guy at the front desk told me if I would have came when It started cracking or lifting it would have been free but since my nail broke in half he has to charge. Literally the next day my other finger with diamonds started to crack so I went back so they could fix it before It completely broke in half. They refused to fix it without me paying 10 dollars. I even told them I was told it would be free to fix any nails (including nails with diamonds) if I came before it completely broke off. The manager Ms. Cathy was very rude, had a nasty attitude, and kept cutting me off. She made it very clear she could care less. She would not even listen to me. I even tried to show her pictures of how bad my nails were breaking and she barely glanced. Now an additional nail has broken. In conclusion, in 9 days of getting a new set, 3 nails have broken. I completely wasted my money. This place needs to work on their customer service. It is very evident they only care about money. Not the customers. No one has time and money to just throw around. If my nails were done correctly the first time I wouldnt have these problems. I will attach pics of how badly my nail broke and how my diamonds didnt even last a few days . Please dont waste your time going over there, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND HAVE NO RESPECT FOR CUSTOMERS. I hope this review stops someone from making the same mistake as me.

So this is a hard one....the staff was pretty nice, very accommodating but when I was there King J would scream across the building which I find very unprofessional. This nail set was the best LOOKING one Ive ever had in my life, they do the best ballerina shaped nails in Lafayette BUT they only lasted 1.5 weeks before they stated breaking. AND the prices are ridiculously expensive, they will try to up sell EVERYTHING, and pretty much guilt trip you into getting more expensive polish, designs etc...IF I ever go back (kinda in the fence about it) Im sticking to what I want and not what they want. 2 stars for beautiful look if nails and decent customer service from MOST of the staff.

They were pretty okay, not quite the design I was hoping for and not worth $110. I got a mani/pedi. Had my nails cane out better I wouldnt have minded the price, but theyre still cute!

I pay my deposit online with Johnny. When I get there I had to wait outside 30 minutes then they actually forgot about me!I have to go back in and remind them about my appointment with Johnny which I did not get! I had to wait for his mother to do my nails Because he book me and another lady at the same time. Which my nails broke the following week! I feel they are not organized and I will not be returning back to this nail shop!

On Monday I went in to enjoy a spa day. Before I arrived, I called King J to ask if I could use the Cathy’s Nail gift card I have there being that the provider is in both locations. I was told that it would not be a problem and to come in when I was ready. I enjoyed my pedicure and manicure and when it was time to pay, I presented the gift card and told the staff member that I called before coming in and was told I was allowed to use the gift card. The staff member then called Cathy Nails to make sure they would be able to give the money in lieu of the gift card. I was then told no that couldn’t be done and I would have to pay out of pocket. The issue is not having to pay out of pocket, the issue is I was told there would be no problem. I’m a frequent patron of both salons and it’s disappointing

Well let me start by saying my nails by King J are always on point. However, I went in for a pedicure and it was HORRIBLE. A lady named Lynn did my pedi, and it took about 10 minutes total. Super rushed. When I walked out my my feet were DRY and my cuticles were so bad,it looked as though I was due for a pedicure and I had just gotten one. She polished them unevenly and told me it looks this way because it in not gel. I have used regular polish for pedicures that past 10 years. Later that day I had to end up going to another business in Lafayette to re-do my pedicure. I will NOT be returning.

I needed a refill and two nails repaired. My shapes don’t even match my nails look unfinished and rushed i hate the color they are not pearly white and when i said j was unhappy with them i was ignored. Also for a refill and 2 nail repairs I don’t understand why it was $65 when barely any work was done to my nails I’m highly Disappointed and i will not be returning or recommending ever.

Okay place and facility is awesome but service is very poor . Dip nails are uneven, acrylic nails they leave acrylic all ok your skin . they don’t bring your shoes when switching from pedi to mani . Gel toes went from 25 for regular polish and 40 for gel . That is ridiculous. I usually pay 40 for mani and pedi all tg this time I had to pay 65 . makes no since ‘ will not be returning. don’t go there . u have been warned .

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE !!!!1. I got shellac($15.00) & a pedicure ($50.00)2. The pedicure was not worth the $50.00 they charged3. I left and 1 hour later &the shellac on my nails started chipping4. The next day two more fingers started chipping5. I checked my bank statement and they’d charged me $76.00, my total should’ve been $65.00When I called they offered a 10% discount off my next visit( I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THAT PLACE AGAIN) and they wouldn’t refund the extra $11.00 they charged me. I Live out of town so there was nothing I could doPLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. It looks nice but the looks are certainly deceiving!!!!YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

I just been to their new place on Johnston. I like the place, vibe, smiling front staff and their new products, its refreshing. But the service itself is very poor. I got dip nails done and the person doing it was careless, breaking nails through the process, not getting them even, extra product on nails leaving edges rough and ragged. Overall very disappointed with the result. They focused on everything except the quality of service.

Love them! My tech was super cautious and did my nails exactly as the inspirational image shown. She ensured I was satisfied with the length and design throughout the entire time, as well. Even with the current restrictions in place, I didn’t feel as if she rushed my service at all. My pedicure also was a treat. I messed up 1 toenail and she fixed 3 coats of polish without any hesitation before I left the salon. Usually I get gel, but I like to switch back to regular polish from time to time... this was one of those times and we laughed about it. There was a wait period; however, I chucked it off to the masses needing mania and pedis coming out of 2 month shelter in place restriction, so I was ok about it bc my service wasn’t rushed despite the slight delay. Love them and will be back!

This is ridiculous, I get nails often & this never happens.My nails should last at least a week & a half. My sister experienced the same. She referred to the nails as press ons..Im sorry I wont use this place again.
