I have been going to Chequers for over a year and have experienced nothing but an excellent cut and a wonderful experience. Joyce, the shop owner, cuts my hair. During my first visit, she listened and took notes as to the kind of hair style I wanted, and she gets it right every time. She is on schedule and courteous and friendly. We always have a good discussion about various topics. The small, boutique shop is clean, well lighted and easy to find. In my opinion, she works best with teens and up. not as well with kids. I highly recommend Chequers Hair Studio as a place to try. Michael

Ive come here twice while visiting my best friend who lives just a mile away. Both times my hair has been cut perfectly. The first time I had long hair and cut it short for donation, and the second time I got a super cute short haircut again. Both times I let them do whatever they pleased and it turned out great. They have a good sense for what works best for you as a client. You wont come out of here regretting anything! Well worth the price.

Joyce has colored and styled my hair for almost 20 years. She does a fantastic job with the color and has always cut my hair so that I do not have to fuss with it. I have followed her as she has opened her own business over the years and always enjoy going for my monthly appointment to chat and relax. Joyce is pretty much a SUPER HERO when it comes to hair. She saved my hair! I was in bad bad shape. She spent the time to consult about what my options were, did multiple test strips, and ended up SAVING my hair. Im so glad I found this salon, everyone is super friendly and just flat out amazing. Unfortunately I have moved since I saw her originally, but I am more than happy to make the hour drive to see her for my next visit, because ITS WORTH IT. Good prices and they care about their clients. Try the tint for your eyebrows and lashes, I love it!

I recently became a new client at Chequers and I wish I had found them sooner! Small and cozy, so you always get the best service. Joyce did a fantastic job on my haircut and color (the haircut I received at my last salon was horrendous), and was so pleasant to talk to. Olivia was so gentle when waxing my eyebrows that I almost fell asleep! I will definitely go back to get my hair done by Joyce again, and cant wait to schedule a facial with Olivia.

While in Los Angeles recently I did go to a couple different places for cuts and they were not even close to what I consistently receive from Chequers. Joyce has been cutting and highlighting my hair for about 5 years now. I usually wait too long between appointments, so I typically feel horribly drab and dull when I walk in, but I always walk out looking fabulous! Joyce is so knowledgeable about all the latest tips and tricks for making everyones hair look its best, too, so she always has great suggestions for any questions or concerns I have about keeping my hair looking great!

Made room for me right away, talked me through what I wanted, gave great suggestions, and I ended up with a great cut.

I had a very negative experience at this salon. There are so many other, better salons out there. Save yourself the heartburn and go elsewhere.
