I want to thank all Jackson House Staff from the bottom of my heart. Theyve helped my adult son (and me) in so many ways. My son was in a very dark place and JH staff came alongside to guide him through the challenges. Hes benefited from their comprehensive program and especially from their genuine care about his well-being. Thank you once again for everything Jackson House Staff!

Look being here is hard, and the work is hard, but that is also what makes it a fantastic place. The staff here actually care about you, they listen, and they want you to keep getting better. I am terrified to post this because of the stigma surrounding mental health, and honestly its taken me some time to actually do it. However, I truly believe the staff deserve to be recognized as the amazing people they are, and the wonderful place they work. Im not all better, and Im not going to be for quite some time but these people are an awesome team and they are good at what they do.

This is an update to a previous review that I wrote. My experience here was memorable and challenging. Most of the staff members here are caring and inspiring people especially the medical staff and the director. There were tense moments for me with some of the staff members and patients but that’s okay. I had a difficult time adjusting to the fact that I was discharging because I didn’t want to make the same mistakes that I have many times before but now I’m feeling a lot better and changing. Staying here is one of the reasons why and I’m content.

I went to Jackson House when I was lost and in a horrible place and I came out set up and hopeful for my future. The staff, counselors, and supervisor are absolutely the best anyone could ask for, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have gone there. HIGHLY recommend if you are in need of help, Jackson House saved my life!

This Place is amazing. Seriously. There is always hardships in life, but the people you meet here, at times, will be all you need to find the light of your potential. Thank you to Caroline and Lauren for everything you have done. Shout out to Vicky, who is hands down the best, most inspiring nurse I have ever met (even with what feels like a lifetime of hospitalizations.) Thanks for being my guiding light, even when times are under guise. You people are what the world needs. If youre reading this and unsure about the next step is... Jackson House is the answer. I had a family member who received care and support through the Jackson house in La Mesa. My family and I were praying endlessly for good mental health support, feeling exhausted and hopeless at times with how broken our system is. And then we heard about the Jackson House! Lauren and the whole team here were just beyond incredible. Not only did they go to great lengths to advocate for my family member but they also provided the very environment he needed- where mental health was approached without stigma and with real tools to help stabilize and restore lives. I will forever be grateful for the integrity and love with which they do their work.

This is an amazing facility. The staff are all super nice and accomodating. They also like to laugh and lighten things up as well. It took me barely a few days to feel super comfortable here and that was largely dependent on the staff. They treat us with dignity and respect always which is different compared to other mental health facilities. I highly recommend this place. They really helped me stabilize.

This place saved me. They helped with my mental health so much and I left in so much better condition than when I came in. Lauren Tozzi the program director was very involved in my treatment and even helped set up an amazing aftercare plan when I had nowhere to go. Would definitely recommend! 10/10

This place is great. I came in experiencing SI and in denial of my lifelong journey with my mental health. The staff helped a lot with their empathy and compassion. Charde was my counselor and she was wonderful. Chris was there the first night I got to Jackson house and made me feel at ease. All the staff is awesome I’m just really bad with names! I left Jackson house with acceptance and the tools I needed to continue my journey. Thanks everyone!

Jackson House saved my life. It can help save your life or your loved one’s!Look no further. Jackson House is THE answer for mental health! They care for individuals who are in mental health crises but post stabilization from a hospital. The facility is a beautiful open format building that was formerly a bank. Expect working utilities and very nice living spaces. The staff are all completely wonderful, each in their own way.NO JUDGMENTS, from staff and housemates. One will only get out of the program what they put into it. The days are rigidly structured from specific shower times, group meetings, and one on ones, cooking, and cleaning. Expect a communal style living environment where you are expected to contribute. They will not hound you, you have to take the responsibility yourself. There is always free time throughout the day. For the smokers, there are scheduled smoke breaks. One of the highlights is the 24/7 nursing care. Each nurse I interacted with really cared about each individual in the house. They make up a stellar team! I used nursing services constantly because most of my goals of care centered on medications and having the right regimen for my body. Make sure to work with the nurse and get what you need medication wise, always tell your side effects and if they are working or not. Medication is half your responsibility. Take your meds!! They work. The cooking and cleaning is done by the residents, expect to participate. This was a great way to work on life skills. The unexpected, best part of Jackson House was the group therapy. This was led by different staff members and covered an assortment of simple and easy activities that are non-intimidating. I gained an enormous amount of insight about myself from the therapy. You are also assigned a 1 on 1 counselor for therapy sessions. These were also integral in my recovery.Every staff member is invested into each and every individual who walks through those doors. But it is your responsibility to take the initiative and to want to heal and recover.Special thanks to all the staff for each being an incredible and integral part in my care. Each one of you helped me more than you know. From setting limits to listening to me at 4 am in the morning for 3 hours (Thanks Leonor!)REMEMBER you only get what you put into it! You have to want to get better. The resources all exist in this place, you only need to ask. Ask questions. Get the resources you need.Thank you to each and every staff member. You all played an important role in my recovery. Lauren, Leonor, Elaine, Mama Rita, Chris, Kari, Eva, Farzana, Nick, Honey, Vicky, Kay, Diane, Brandon, Dot, Izzy, and O’shea,

My stay at Jackson House was fantastic. I was able to engage in several group sessions where we worked through our fears and stepped out of our comfort zones by participating in exercises that challenge our status quo actions and reactions to real life experiences. Being a part of the community meal times helped me to overcome rejection issues. The main purpose for my stay here, to stabilize my bi-polar disorder medications was relatively simple due to the knowledge of the nursing team. The Invega injection along with the comfortable family - like atmosphere accomplished my goal of leaving Jackson House with a positive outlook on my future and a realistic ongoing treatment plan. Thank you to Lauren and the staff at Jackson House, La Mesa!

I think this place has taken my girlfriend away from me. On 10/2 she checked into this facility. She told me that the psychiatrist there had added 2 new medications on top of her regular antidepressants. I talked to her 4 times after she checked in, and each call she sounded more terrified and convinced she needed to be there. I tried calling this past week to get her to call me, and I understand that the staff cant technically tell me if shes there or not. Itd be nice to actually have them give her my message. Theres something very sketchy happening. I think. I mean do know that she had checked in there, and gradually sounded more disoriented and paranoid the longer she was there. And now shes completely disappeared. The last time I spoke with her she sounded drunk. Shes been clean from drugs and alcohol for 2 years now, but sounded like a slurring mess the last time we spoke This place took my girlfriend from me.

Our transgender son recently spent 10 days at Jackson House. We found all the staff to be extremely supportive and professional. Their follow thru in helping our son find a suitable next step facility was excellent. And as parents we felt well care for. They really care and it comes across. We would highly recommend this facility if the need demands.

I went hear with very high anxiety and depression...I had some episodes of panic attacks but that staff were very helpful. Everyone is super chill and nice. The two people that stood out the most was Juan and Lenore. Juan is really understanding and is always willing to listen and gives good advice. Lenore has a good head on her shoulders and can get you out of your funk. She went above and beyond for me and I appreciate her so much. She was able to get me to stop me overthinking of things. Overall this place is awesome if you need some help and the groups are good. You do have planned meals that you help cook and have group 5 times a day.

I had a great experience at Jackson House before, but this time was different. I watched the new director trigger my room mate, she was extremely suicidal when she left, she was not at this Jackson House location for longer than 24hrs and she left still in tears. The staff here is able to order food for themselves, but for some reason the clients cant, citing covid-19 pandemic. I made a grievance form about this, and was basically told that staff can do as they please. It doesnt seem fair that they get to order Texas roadhouse and we are stuck with processed frozen lasagna. I once thought this was a place where clients and staff were equal or, on the same page.. but I was proved wrong. I will not be returning once discharge.Only reason I am giving 2 stars is for Jackson Houses psychiatrist and select staff.

A close friend was a recent client of Jackson House. From my observation and my friends comments, this is an excellent crisis treatment center. Mental health treatment is so challenging. Its not like the therapists can administer an antibiotic or put a cast on a leg and call it a success. Good mental health care depends on the quality of the staff. The Jackson House therapists, administrators, and house staff Ive interacted with are skillful, compassionate, and kind. I recommend it highly.

I started the year of 2020 in a dark place, experiencing suicidal Ideation and periods of strong Mania and Depression, through my experiences at jacksonhouse I was able to find a safe place to rest my body, soul, and mind, today I’m doing significantly better and I’m on a path of self care and self improvement that began at Jacksonhouse. All my appreciation goes to the techs, peer support, and therapists and psychiatrists at jacksonhouse that truly cared about me and showed me a path through the most difficult point in my life. Thank you Jacksonhouse for all that you have done and still do for me.

A friend of ours had gone to the Jackson House for some treatment. She was going through a tough time in her life, and her friends and family knew she needed help. She was at the facility for about 2 weeks, and during her time there, the staff was such a pleasant part of the program. Her recovery was 180 degrees, and we can all see the difference in her. We can’t thank Jackson House enough for helping her get back up again.

So I loved JH the staff was great with me especially Nurse Juan ,Chirs , staff DJ, Farzana, Leonora, Sam, Shardee Thank you especially to these people who always had time for me. They did more theraphy with me than ths Therapist did besides Shardee. YOU NEED NEW COUNCELORS they dont come out the back office to help at all they can care less all i got was a BP something an 1 1on1 i was their 14 days ridicoulous. An the Rude Mean lady at the front desk who yells answer phone to staff while she gossiping or on her personal phone. I sat their heard her talk to one staff about a staff then to anothers staff to another. Yes about eachother or changing up stories shes drama an very mean shes jealous of certain staff yoou can see it. Shes either a secretary or a staff she need to stay in 1 lane stop b eing involved in everyones business. Your councelor the one that thinks shes all that can continue to sit back their thinking she looks pretty an the other one needs a bed here also Farzana not nurse is so little an cute she is great. The place is beautiful staff mentioned above help me soo much. But their are things going on with clients that people should be getting kicked out or introuble for their actions. I noticed no staff in the evening but 2 an with 10 staff i believe more than 2 is necesaary i asked about Peers an their is only 1 Elenor she got hired as aftercare she does chat with clients beautiful story always available hard worker but whers are other peers well i relate to them more than any other staff. Also i really feel we needed.more councelor groups i only saw diana. An shardee the other one alison did 1 group. Arent you therapeutic well why isiant their more counvelor acticity daily check ins. Over all i would recommend the menu looked over it SUCKS but JH is better thN the other crisis centers. I would recommend it.
