Love going to this gym. Love that they keep it clean. The hydro massage beds and sauna is what has me come everytime.

Nice gym but always too crowded. Always a bunch of people crowding the equipment, even at 9pm. Gonna cancel my membership due to this.

Best gym Ive been to. Great layout, awesome staff, easy access, and SUPER CLEAN. Affordable with plenty of parking. I love the hydromassage and sauna, too! Combo lockers at the entry make things simple to store your bag. Definitely recommend this place.

Hope is great! The Zumba class is a good workout. Only reason not a 5...not enough mirrors for all to see themselves

Not a lot on offer but a cheap price explains that. Was told I cant curse or grunt because it intimidates other patrons. Im of the opinion that these kind of gyms defeat the purpose of bettering yourself through challenging yourself but if you are on a tight budget it works.

Great gym! Employees are super nice and helpful. Lots of parking spaces. Im not a gym fanatic so my review might not be relevant to some of you.Love that they have the standing tanning booths. The hydromessagers are also a plus.They also have free lockers when you enter and also in the men and women locker rooms. Self check in and out, easy!

Nice spacious gym. Professional staff, only 2 caveats- the Saunas are barely hot and this is the only Chuze in the county without a Theragun or an electric roller. Cmon Chuze La Mesa, stop being cheap!

Ive been a member for almost a year and find it has everything I need to get fit as a self-directed user. My remarks are from someone who does not use a fitness trainer or any classes, so beware. I have never used classes, personal trainers or group workouts and dont miss them at Chuze. I frankly dont know if they offer group fitness classes or not. Its a smaller gym than the huge 24hour Fitness locations I used to use, but their choice of equipment is excellent. Clean, well kept up facility. Convenient location for me at Grossmont Center. That is key.

I was running some errands in La Mesa and Chuze has this location open so I went to get a workout here. They require to make a reservation for one hour till they can increase their capacity. The gym was nice, clean, and all services and machines available. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Youll need to check out with you phone app because they keep control of how many people come in/out so they can open spots for other members. Santee location doesnt require a reservation.

Its great! Wide variety of machines and free weights. Its a shame your limited to only an hour though and you have to schedule appointments, but scheduling is very easy. Also because of scheduling it doesnt get too packed... for the most part. The workers are nice and everything is clean! Highly recommend

It was great! I used a free pass to try it out and I had a great workout. They have great equipment and an open, energetic space with large fans blowing cool air throughout the whole area. The staff was friendly, the whole gym was modern and clean. It was a great place to workout. Im definitely starting a membership next week. The prices are very affordable.

First and last time visiting this place! just doing my workouts...I really can’t believe how Jose / Assistant manager was able to be very rude. Most importantly is how does a Company like Chuze let someone run management this way!As I am running on the treadmill he approaches me and tells me if my mask slips he’s going to kick me out, no one is around I have my mask accordingly, I am running with my mask on it slipped for a second and he tells me I should buy a new mask one that will not slip even when I’m running... Also this only happened once during my whole time I was here so maybe.Aso, I have noticed him starring at me for a while. Hope no one has to go through this feeling harassed.Check your cameras Chuze!

Paid for an upgraded membership, bad idea. Still have to make an appointment for only 1 hour per day, if you are lucky enough to time it. Somehow they still violate fire codes in occupancy. All equipment is occupied at all times. Most college students sleeping on apparatuses. Staff is unapologetic about logistical incompetence. Zero etiquette.

Made not to feel judged, unless youre in shape. Then employee, Toni sarcastically will act intimidated by muscles. Made unwelcome!

Careful! This location is running a scam. They have been telling customers to sign up because this specific gym recognizes and participates in ADA exemptions for individuals. This is a LIE. once you go a few times they tell you that their policy changed. As a result, If you ask for your year fee to be re-funded, they wont, they will refuse. Dont let them talk you in to it. They will say whatever you want to hear until they have your card on file...other then that, very clean, well lit gym.

Charged me $50 annual fee even though I cancelled it before the annual fee date. Don’t have enough equipment and always crowded.

Clearly dense staff. You have to show up just to be told there is anywhere from a 30 min to hour wait, and then sit in your car waiting. No call ins, no reservations (even though other locations have reservations on the actual app). Pathetic, can’t wait for the Mission Valley location to open up indoors again

These guys will rob you... Canceled my membership in April 2020 because of Covid. They kept right on billing me and then I called in September to have them shut it down and they kept right on billing me. It is now January 2021 and they are still billing me. Asked for a refund was told no way. They are CROOKS thats is all I can say. Stay away. Do not sign up.

I recently joined and so far I like this gym it’s nice and has variety of machines to use.

I dont know whats wrong with these people. They make you wait one hour in your car at the gym. They refuse to let you make a reservation over the phone or online. I only came to this gym because they were the only ones that were opened. It is small, crowed, and barley has the basics.You guys really need to learn from this and have a way where customers can wait at home via one hour in there car.

I really enjoy this gym. I was previously a 24Hour member but it wasnt my cup of tea. Came here and I cant stop. Friendly, helpful, and a constantly moving staff keeps the place running and there plenty to do. I want to give this place a bad review just so people wont join and overcrowd but Chuze deserves the 5 stars and the new years crowd is dying down so I think Im safe to post this now.Thank you for being a great gym and having a great staff!

At least an hr long wait in line no matter what time of day. They refuse to have reservations online like other gyms. Will be canceling membership and going to 24hr. With reservations, there is no wait in line and you can plan your day accordingly.

Gym is super clean , staff is really friendly. 5-7 pm on weekdays is usually packed , avoid those hours if you can for a better workout or if you don’t like alternating exercises based on what’s open . Cannot speak on the classes since I don’t attend, but the majority of complaints / bad reviews come from people wanting more free weights , which I agree , and they are currently renovating to provide that so obviously management listens to demands.Pros:-Good air movement inside-Plenty of cardio machines at all times-Very friendly to beginner level gym-goer-Equipment gets repaired quicklyCons:-Shouldn’t be any left after the renovation to add more space and free weights. Great gym for the price overall.

ChuzeFitness is a great place to work out. The employees and members both keep the place clean. Plenty of equipment for everyone.

Great place to workout. The only disadvantage for me is its a 12 month contract. But other than that its worth the price. Theres lots of equipment so even when its busy theres open machines from what I have seen. Also theres classes, hydro massage and the staff is friendly.

Love this gym. It’s really quiet and you don’t have to worry about randos popping into your workout to “chat”.There are plenty of cardio machines on the first and second floor. I can usually keep a treadmill of save between me and the next person.You MUST TRY the hydro massage tables. You get 10 minutes for each visit , but if there is no one waiting (which there rarely is), you can ask for more time. It really does feels like a luxury after a light workout.The staff is just the right amount of friendly. You’re greeted everyone you come and go and they don’t try to have full blown conversations with you at the door before your workout.Seriously all the staff have really great 👍🏾 smiles and personalities.You won’t regret signing up here!!!!

Great staff, lots of machines and free weights, and very clean and orderly facilities. It gets a little cramped here as the floorspace is lacking, but you can usually find an open machine or some empty corner for your free weights. Parking is plentiful, but you have to fight the mall traffic for it.

Place is kept pretty well, employees are cool but the amount of people that go here during peak is a bit much, gets to the point where you are really limited to what you can do unless you want to spend a few hours at the gym waiting to use your desired equipment.

Love this gym! Inexpensive, lots of equipment, and group classes. They even have tanning beds and hydro massage included in your membership! My only complaint is that it seems to get pretty busy so I have to make sure I come as early as possible or else it kind of gets a little crowded. I never have to wait for a machine though, so thats really nice! Customer service is great, as well!

The employees are very nice and you cant beat the price. I was looking for just a basic gym membership but they offer so much more. Love the hydro massage and the machines are easy to use with the pictures on each machine.

I signed a two year contract two years ago for a great price (9.99 a month). Also every six months a 40.00 maintenance fee.I was okay with that. However within about 7 months I had decided to start jogging. I never returned back to the gym for over a year. The 9.99 fee was cool. What I got pissed about is they kept charging me the 40.00 maintenance fees.Look we all know they fill those slots with other members (bodies allowable for size of building at any one time / fire code). So to keep charging me this 40.00 was over kill.Im not happy with that type of business practice. Theyve lost my business. Id never join again even without a contract. Greeeeeed

Great place for a casual workout. Pretty much anything you want is available. The one thing I would change would be to put a larger focus on free weights, it always seems like people are waiting for a bench or a rack

My husband signed up for this location. Staff was very friendly. Although Carlos was his favorite. He did not have a problem finding equipment to fill his needs. He was going to La Mesa LA fitness, and they closed the gym. He found Chuze to be more customer friendly than LA fitness.

By far the most helpful group of gym staff in San Diego! Randy was supportive, informative, and an overall pleasure to work with while choosing the right gym for me. Chuze staff is very welcoming as well as the environment. Highly recommend!

Went here on a buddies guest pass. Always love a gym with two stories where one overlooks the floor. Reception was friendly, everything was clean, plenty of machines. No scales in the locker room!

Not too busy, always clean, equipment always working, staff is always friendly and they memorize your name. Best gym I have ever been to hands down.

I visited Chuze La Mesa this morning. I just became eligible for Silver Sneakers and wanted to sign up for my free membership. Upon entering, I immediately was greeted by Parker. I wanted to get my questions answered. This young man was a wealth of knowledge! He told me of the services offered; classes, hydromassage, cardio equipment, strength training, machines/free weights, and most important, the cleanliness of the gym. He took me for a tour and finished with getting me signed up.I managed customer service for a Fortune 500 company before retiring. Parker demonstrated all the strengths of someone you/I want interacting with your/my customers/clients; intelligent, friendly, great interpersonal skills, etc. Chuze is lucky to have him as an associate. (Thank you again Parker for your assistance. It was much APPRECIATED!)

Staff is friendly and always smiling and the gym is just about spotless. Good place to get a good sweat on. Problem I have is that they dont sell workout gloves and and the management is subpar

Ended up joining as a result of LA Fitness gyms being either closed or deteriorating due to lack of maintenance. Will soon cancel my membership of nearly 8 years with LA Fitness as I have found Chuze to be far superior at a fraction of the cost. Only wish they had more locations!

Remodeling is finished and it is much brighter work out area and the locker rooms have been redone. Just wish that they had seen fix to replace the lockers.

It is a real pain to cancel a membership with them. They charge a 50 fee to cancel and that is every location. They also have very little locations to offer the people.This location is very busy all the time and half the machines are broken and out of order.The managers are all like 20 years old and dont know much of anything. They try hard to have good custome service to make up for the 5 employees standing around just to clean one machine.Crunch is cheaper offers more things with better classes and trainers.After my long Exuasting battle to cancel a membership with a doctor note I will have to say I will never sign up with a chuze in the future.

Staff is top notch, always greeted with a welcome and told have a good day on the way out. They keep the place clean and organized. I normally avoid peak hours as its difficult to get machines.

This location strives at being clean and friendly. Their staff is always attentive and their guest capacity doesnt ever overload. Machines due get used often, so a short wait may be required, but nothing out of the ordinary for a gym.

I love this gym, the hours kind of hurt with my schedule but everyone is kind and have everything for a great workout. My only issue is they have a strict squat rack instead of a free weight.

Not crowded, inexpensive and has everything I need for a great workout.

Clean and well equipped gym with a healthy two racks of dumbbells, two smith machines, and plenty of other equipment. Staff is always on point about keeping the place well preserved. Bathroom, showers, and locker room are also surprisingly clean.Only downside would be the lack of variety of equipment (nothing that stands out from the other $10 gyms) and often the lockers are all occupied at peak hours.

Not sure how 24h is still in business. Chuze is better, nicer, friendlier.

Its a good low commitment gym. Clean. Friendly staff. Ellipticals and treadmills always available. Circuit room, showers/locker rooms, electronic locks (no keys required) hydro massage beds, sun tanning and a few classes everyday. If you pay for the sightly more expensive membership you can bring a friend and use any chuze you, well choose I suppose.

It sounds like a great deal, but its not much better than the other chain gyms. Online they advertise as no commitment and easy to sign up. Yet you still spend 30-50 bucks to sign up (depending on if you provide your routine number for automatic monthly payments) and its a one year commitment. AND you have to pay it again 3 months after signing up...$9.99 per month is not bad at all for just weights and cardio and the services for the upgraded membership are well worth it...my only problem is all the start up fees and contract length, which is what this place advertises its NOT about :/

Clean facility, attentive staff, and decent gym equipment.

The staff is amazing, the machines are well kept, and the gym never seems to be too crowded. I love that I can work out, and then get a hydro massage, and its covered under my membership.

Gets super packed from 5:00 pm until 7:00pm. Not worth going during said happy hour, you will not even be able to workout lol

I had negative preconceptions about this place as someone who likes freeweights and doesnt do a lot of gym cardio. I signed up last week when my LA Fitness closed and Ive honestly been loving it. I usually go mid day, so its not too crowded, and the staff are awesome!

I was reluctant to go to a gym for a long, long time. So glad I chose to join a friend at this one. Super nice, friendly staff. Everything is clean. The only thing I would change is the replace some of the older machines for new ones that move smoother.
