I cant say enough good things about Dr. James. Before going to Essential I had spent over a year going to physical therapy for back pain after being in a car accident. I stuck with the program because they said it would probably take a year for me to recover from the accident, but after the year was up I was still in constant pain and they wiped their hands clean of me saying I was all better even without asking me if I was still in pain and without doing any kind of scan to show that I had actually improved over the year.Thinking that I should try a different physical therapy center in hopes of getting some personalized attention I started going to another one, only to discover the new place paid even less attention to me and tried to get me in and out the door as quick as possible so they could stuff as many patients in there as possible. If the massage therapist was busy with a patient they would have the doctor fill in for the muscle work, and the she was the worst I have ever come across. I would leave that place so jarred and out of place after she was pulling and pushing and shoving my neck into all sorts of awkward positions and then blame the stiffness in my neck for the reason she couldnt crack it. Terrified I was going to spend another year of my life in pain from crappy impersonal physical therapy centers that care more about filling their office rather than actually making people feel better, I found Dr. James.My experience with him is night and day compared to what Ive been going through with these other places. James is hands down the best there is. Not only is he super friendly and personable, but he will take the time to sit down and listen to you. Its amazing the difference when your doctor actually cares about you getting better! Im 110% convinced that Im FINALLY on the road to recovery now that Ive been working with James and I only wish I didnt waste my time at the other places. I would recommend him in a heart beat!

I would recommend Dr.James any day. He is honest and friendly and has a real passion for chiropractic health . He is working with my 5 year old daughter. I went in as a last resort for her unusual pains before going back to specialist. Dr. James truly wants to help. Not only has her pain minimized but also less frequent. She loves going to him because she knows it will help.

Very nice people! I was involved in a car accident in February and my back hurt so bad to the point of needing to take pain a reliever 3 times a day. I started going to Essential and immediately I noticed after a few visits that my anxiety and pain started to decrease. I stopped taking pain meds soon after my third visit. I go there 2 times a week now and I love it. I feel like a million bucks.

Ive been going to James for a couple years now and as an active person who occasionally suffers sports related injuries, his treatment and knowledge of sports physiology have made my recoveries and continued maintenance of past injuries an enjoyable process. Every time Ive seen him in La Mesa Ive left there feeling better than I went in.

Dr James has been my chiropractor for about 2 years now. He is an excellent adjuster, which I have found is hard to find. I feel very confident that they are experts in what they do at Essential Chiropractic and Im glad I found their office.

I just found this place for my girlfriend. Shes pregnant and feeling it. A girl I work with recommended we go to a chiropractor and more specifically we go to Essential.Drs Tira and James are specialists with pregnancy and they are super nice. I went in with my girl for the first few visits and they checked her out and did these scans and had her all set to feel better. After the first visit, she was happy and feeling great. She loves it there, and Im thinking Im gonna get myself checked out too. Ill let you know.

Ive always believed in chiropractic as a natural form of healing and maintenance, but my neck would continue to bother me when I was just going in once or twice a month.When I was referred to Essential Chiropractic, I was delighted with the plan that they offered. By making the visits affordable I was able to begin by going three times a week, then moving to twice a week. Now, almost a year later all of my chronic neck pain is gone! I have just an occasional migraine instead of several per month. It is apparent not only by how I feel, but by the scans that have been done about every 3 months how much better aligned I am. I am so grateful for the referral and will continue treatment in this clinic. Thank you James!

Ive been seeing Dr. James and Dr. Tira in La Mesa for almost a year. Although I originally sought treatment from them in order to alleviate pain (former collegiate football player). My treatment with them has evolved to so much more than that. Dr. James and Dr. Tira have helped me understand about living a healthy lifestyle and have worked to not only alleviate my pain SYMPTOMS but also to work on what causes it. I cant imagine where my health would be without them and their practice.

I went in after having an auto collision, with a previous back injury from work. I went to physical therapy and had acupuncture for the work injury for about 4 months it was ok and they said time will heal it well no...after the collision I decided to see a chiropractor for the first time. Im telling you it works and it feels great!! These adjustments are just what I needed the pain has greatly reduced and I no longer feel as much pain as I did before...this is what Ive needed all this time!!
