Anna is very knowledgeable and very helpful to seniors. If you have a question, she always has the answers and very fast at getting back to you. I really appreciate all she does for the elderly and their love ones.

Leaf blowers (at least 2 at once) start at 7am multiple times a week. That is way too early to be starting. At least delay until 9am.

You will be overworked at this place. Its not worth the pay they give you, trust me. Kitchen staff, janitors, caregivers, and housekeepers, are all very stressful jobs here. There are other retirement homes you can work at, which are way better and less stressful than this place. Proof that this is not a good place to work, employees are constantly quiting all the time. The supervisors and the management here never listen to their employees, they dont care if were happy here or not.

My husband and I have lived at Grossmont Gardens/Elmcroft for 7 months. When we first walked though the door, we felt welcome. The entire staff is here to help us in any way possible. There is an openness,. Every month residents are invited to join the staff, the directors from all departments, where we are encouraged to give input, concerns, criticisms and suggestions.Dining is a pleasure. We love the extensive menu options that we have to choose from. Every day we have a homemade soup that is outstanding. The food is so good that we both have gained 10 lbs, and now we have to diet!!We have had nursing assistance several times and even our Dr. Is pleased with the care we are getting at Grossmont Gardens.Lastly, the grounds are so beautiful and well maintained. We love our new home, no cooking, no gardening, no cleaning. It is perfect for an 80 year old couple

Our experience with Grossmont Gardens has been very positive. While visiting potential communities we found Grossmonts staff to be informative and concerned in understanding our needs and preferences. In follow up questions, we found them timely and responsive. For our family member their flexible dining schedule and varied menu options were a real plus. The facility seems to be well maintained. There are a number of activities for residents to participate in.Since moving in, our family member has found the residents to be friendly; the meals enjoyable; and the staff pleasant and willing to work with residents to help meet their needs.

A thoroughly professional and well-run organization. We toured this assisted living for our grandmother and the staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable; the facilities are clean, menu is varied and delicious. My family asked many questions and we put the poor marketing director Anna through the grinder but she was always courteous, never showed annoyance and answered all our concerns, Anna is a trooper for sure! Were fortunate to have found this place and most important of all-- Nana likes it and thats all that matters

My husband received different levels of care during his stay at Grossmont Gardens. From assisted living to skilled nursing, the care was heartfelt as well as professional. When I could no longer care for my husband at home, I entrusted his care into the hands of the caregivers, nurses and facility staff who treated him with respect, and never stopped trying to meet his needs. Their love for what they do is obvious each and every day. I never stopped feeling supported and cared about. I would highly recommend this facility. I am thankful everyday for what they did for my husband, for me, and for our family.

This is a lousy place to work, and to live at. Just recently they got rid of an amazing outstanding worker named Daniel Loya. He was one of the best janitors Grossmont Gardens had to offer. He was such a hard worker. All of the residents here including myself loved him and the work he did for this place. Word is going around that its the supervisors fault for making very poor judgement on Daniels work. I believe the supervisors name was Miriam. She was rarely to be seen outside, but us residents were always out and about, and we seen and noticed all of the good work Daniel Loya has done. Daniel was so nice to us. He was a very honest and caring young man. Grossmont Gardens will never be the same. Please bring back Daniel Loya, we miss him as our janitor.

This place doesnt deserve one star. They hire unskilled workers from dining to caregiving. They allow very sick elderly with advanced stages of alzheimers/dementia to be placed in independent and assisted living instead of acute care. Even the supervisors have the education of a kindergartner and are incompetent. Its no wonder this is a low-budget facility with a history of high turnover rates.

Ive worked with Grossmont Gardens for about 2 years as a provider of home health through GrandCare. Lisa Weiss has been a strong advocate for the residents health and the onsite Therapy Specialists (Bethany and Vicki) are amazing and loved by this community. The care and ambiance of this community can be felt walking through the doors and being surrounded by the happy smiles of all the residents. I highly recommend this community to anyone who is looking for a place to live. You and or your loved ones will be taken care of by a highly skilled professional team of advocates who dedicate their time and energy to constantly improving our elders lives each day. Thank you Grossmont Gardens for all the care you give each day to your residents!

Rebecca (the director) is absolutely unprofessional. She discusses residents private information in the hallways without regard to any privacy. She is confrontational and does not care for the well being of residents. The food needs to be healthier, tablecloths dont get changed but maybe once a month. Elevators dont work properly and have trapped residents then the residents get blamed for it. She talks to residents in a condescending manner. Residents have been billed for services that were not provided. The dining room staff have a negative attitude.

My 86 yo mother lived here Sept 2017 - April 2018. The grounds are lovely, the staff helpful and friendly. However, there were ongoing issues with the elevators. They were out of service for a week in April. Her last night there, she was stuck in one for 20 mins. GG did not respond in a timely manner. A caregiver, not associated with GG, was finally able to open the door. The other issue turned out to be multi-level care facility. Know and understand ahead of time that it is the facilitys decision, NOT yours about the level of care needed. GG wanted full-time escort. I didnt agree.Mom now lives in nearby Waterford Terrace, a senior apartment complex which has partnered with A Better Solution which provides care as desired. Mom is getting along beautifully with 30 mins assistance mornings. Shes free to enjoy all activites offered. Full time escort is unnecessary.Had I truly understood the full implications of multi-level care I would not have placed Mom at GG. A close friend, who had had a similar experience with her Dad at another facility, warned me. Im sorry I didnt heed her advice. I could have avoided the extra expence and aggravation associated with having to leave GG.UPDATE: I just received notice (6/13/18) that GG suffered a security data breach 5/10/2018. Name, DOB, address, health records, and possible SS# may have been accessed. GG offered identity theft monitoring for 1 yr, which I will use. I am shocked it took them a month to notify me. Due to these 3 issues, I have changed my initial review from 5 stars to 2 stars.

I am recommending Grossmont Gardens after visiting. They have a lot of things my Mom can do to keep her happy and involved with others, the sales people were great and they have nurses there 24 hours a day, which I found out a lot of places do not.
