I have been through 7 rehabs and only stayed sober for 3 months. My 8 attempt was at Genesis, now im am going on 2 years of recovery. It was a true blessing for me and my family. Now I can look at the world straight in the eyes.

The staff really cares and are all genuine as anyone can be. Plus, I’m still sober. I actually miss being there, it really is special.

This program is truly amazing and has made such a positive impact on my life as well as in my recovery. I was a heroin addict for over 13 years and have been to numerous treatment centers and detox facilities with little success. Genesis showed me how to live a life clean as they helped me become integrated into a community of like-minded people. The staff and counselors are all awesome people who helped me in all areas of my life including building a relationship with God and with my family. They helped with transportation to any doctor or legal appointment I had to take care of. By far the best food I’ve had at any of the treatments I’ve been to and the staff members and management are great peoples Ho are always willing to help and share thier experience. I love everything that Genesis has done for me, this program has saved my life!

Ive seen first hand success story after success story of mens whos lives have done a complete 180 after going through Genesis Recovery. I personally stayed in their sober living house for 1 year and 9 months.The Christian community and lifestyle that you are immersed by is what makes sobriety possible. The owner Tommy remains highly involved and does this truly out of a God-given calling.They offer inpatient, outpatient and sober living programs. Id highly recommend Genesis to anyone who wants or needs sobriety. However, their program offers so much more than just sobriety, it will give you the tools to attain a blessed life.

I just completed this program. It changed my life. It became a second home to me. I have been using Alcohol and Drugs for over 25 yrs. I have tried multiple programs with no luck. This place is much different then all the others Ive been too. The one on one care never stopped. I always had some one to help me through what ever struggle, I was feeling. The compassion and aptitude the staff have are unparalleled to any I have seen. The location being in the Mountains helped me to feel peace and not be overwhelmed with the busy outside world. Its far enough away from civilization that when I felt like leaving. I had enough time to think about it and didnt leave and my treatment continued. I cant thank my new family/counselors enough. I wanted to take a moment and share a bit of our sons story and our experience with Genesis Recovery. Our son Hunter had gradually withdrawn from us and 2014 we barely saw him. He wouldnt answer his phone, come to family events, or much of anything else. Then, in late Sept 2014, I received a call from him, he was in jail. He told me his lifestyle had finally caught up with him and I asked him what he meant. He told me what he had been up to and I was in shock. He had been drinking heavily, daily, which wasnt that much of a surprise given what I had witnessed previously, but what was a surprise is he had gotten heavily involved with substance abuse and dealing. His girlfriend at the time bailed him out and unfortunately, he got back to doing what he had before the arrest. What he failed to tell us however, was the judge had ordered him to attend AA/NA meetings regularly, find a therapist, etc. At his next hearing the judge asked Hunter to show proof of what he had done in the three months since these tasks were ordered and he had done none of them. As a result the judge ordered Hunter to 90 days in county jail and 6 months in rehab/sober living. This was the absolute best thing that anyone could have done for him. As his time in jail was coming to an end, Hunters attorney suggested we look into Genesis Recovery and she gave me Tommys number. This program was exactly what we were looking for, Christian based, 12 Step, with therapists on-site. We just had to get our son on board. We posed the idea to him and, after some initial resistance, he agreed to give it a shot. Shortly after he started in the program we began to see changes in him that I thought we never would. He was incredibly positive, thankful, appreciative, and loving. It was amazing! But for me, the most amazing thing is the blessing of Hunter accepting Christ and inviting us to attend church with him and the other guys from the program every Sunday! I know this is a result not only of Hunter being ready for change, but also of the positive influence and association of the therapists, staff, and other residents. I cannot say enough good things about this experience. Not only did Hunter complete the program, but as a result of his attitude, commitment, and positivity, he was asked if he would like to stay on as a member of the staff! We were blown away! My wife and I want to thank Tommy, Dennis, all of the therapists, clinicians, and staff and yes the residents too! You have given us the most precious gift of all, we have our son back!! May God bless you all richly!! I would highly recommend Genesis Recovery to anyone who may find themselves in need of help for a loved one.

Wow. Is all I can say. I will say that a life without a recovery mindset is no life at all. Complete decency on Christ is what I learned here. How to surrender, how to trust, how to self reflect and stop blaming, how to heal and forgive. What I received at Genesis was nothing short of a miracle. I am a huge advocate for this program and this place and I am truly blessed to have been able to go here myself. Life has never been better and that’s no lie, not even a little.

I attended Genesis Recoverys Inpatient program followed by a couple months of outpatient treatment and now I live in one of their sober living houses. I was astounded at how amazing this program was, in my experience there is no comparison with other programs. The staff is very helpful, friendly, u derstanding, and on point with every aspect of recovery. This program offered me much more than just getting clean, it gave me the opportunity to get reconnected with God, a community to help me along in my recovery after treatment, and most importantly it gave me a new chance at life. I am forever grateful for Genesis and for all of the awesome people that work for them. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

I , actually I should say we as an entire family are so very grateful and blessed to have had such an amazing experience with Genesis Recovery San Diego. Tommy and Dennis and the rest of the men who work and run this God Send called Genesis Recovery SD are just incredible , honest, real, brave, faith based God workers! This program gave my son Mark the chance for a new beginning...he went in with doubts but shortly had his world rocked. This was a young man who was struggling with his addiction, who lost sight of his honor and his relationships with his family, his God, and himself. As a parent, and as a sibling, it just rips your heart to shreds when you see your own so lost and struggling. Through this program, my son and their brother has come home to us! He is now a man of faith, honor, respect, and strength who walks with truth and light. This is the fruit that comes from the planting of the seed in rich soils....Genesis Recovery is this rich soil. Genesis is steeped in honesty, tough love, self realization, the 12 step program, group meetings,daily check ins with your own sponsor, a lot of self work, the bible and Christianity.I would recommend this program for anyone who is struggling with addiction. They are the best!

My son went to this place up in the Mountains. He came back an entirely different person. On 2/2/2018 he celebrated a year of being clean and sober. The setting was peaceful and when I visited him, I could feel something special in this place. The whole job of the Genesis community is to love the men who come there broken and shattered from addictions, and they do that and more.They followed a comprehensive plan that included connection with God, both individual and group therapy and the 12 step program to help show my son how to be a strong man of Christ. He mentioned the food was very good as well. Thank you Genesis for what God is doing through you... Thank you for my son back...

I cant even begin to describe what a miraculous transformation my son is undergoing thanks 100% to Genesis recovery. Weve tried other places and none compare. Its a multilevel approach that combines AA 12 step, spiritual and psychological work. Its this perfect combination along with the staff who are fully invested in each of the residents. From the drive up to serene and secluded location you can feel God at work here. My son is once again the fine young man I knew. Hes healthy happy but most important, hes in recovery. We are so grateful that Tommy answered the phone late that night, the call that ended the nightmare, and began the journey of healing for our son. Genesis is a wonderful facility with an amazing staff. They routinely go above and beyond to help their clients. They provide a family atmosphere with top of the line treatment, including a variety of groups and one-on-one counseling. All of their staff are well educated about addiction and alcoholism and empathetic to the clients situation. I have had several clients who attended Genesis Recovery and they have nothing but positive things to say about their time at Genesis. I would highly recommend to family and friends.

As a resident at Genesis Recovery I was an active participant in the 12-step and general recovery based educational groups, and the faith-based spiritual skill building activities. As an addict and alcoholic of 15 years, I used drugs and alcohol to mask my insecurities and to cope with life. I needed an inpatient program where I could build a strong foundation to support a healthy sober life, and at Genesis they foster a safe, nurturing, encouraging environment that allowed me to thrive in early recovery. I gave my life to Christ while on a hike on one of the countless trails carving through the vast landscape; the heavens opened and the angels where singing...as an atheist/agnostic I was living in darkness for my entire life, so accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior was a big deal. I am eternally grateful to everyone at Genesis.

Genesis saved my life. I was on the verge of death and had no one and nothing left in my life. After many failed attempts to get clean I found Genesis. I See Genesis now as something like a recovery school. All the groups and the morning devotional keeps recovery and God in your mind all the time. The team in place at Genesis addresses the recovering person as a whole, offering hope, encourgement, fellowship, validation, clinical follow through and Christ like love.Our son has been set free from discouragement and failed attempts at a sober life. Genesis recovery gave me a chance when everyone in my life didn’t want anything to do with me, through the program here I was shown a new way to live. I am a huge fan of Tommy Hathorn and Dennis Morgan, the directors. They are very active in San Diegos recovery community and with the Rock Church. They have guided countless men through the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and many families have shared how grateful they are for helping their sons get clean and sober. If you or a loved one (men only) are struggling with drinking or drugging, need substance abuse treatment, and are open to the concept of God, then I highly recommend this non-profit, state licensed, faith-based, 12-step inpatient drug rehab. Theyre affordable and even have scholarships for those that cant afford treatment.

I went to visit Genesis Recovery Last Friday 6/12/2015 and it was amazing. They offer such a unique experience. I was so impressed. Thank you Genesis for such an amazing tour and experience.

To say were HUGE fans of Genesis Recovery, its directors and staff, is a huge understatement! The work that is being done at Genesis Recovery is saving and transforming lives of men of all ages. For someone who is broken and in the grip of addiction (as our son was), there is no better place for them to go. At Genesis they will receive three elements of substance abuse treatment.....it is a faith based, 12 step program that includes clinical treatment as well. We feel one of the greatest aspects of someone going to Genesis is that they are guided thru treatment by a staff that all personally understand recovery, have powerful testimonies and personal experiences to share, and lastly it is an environment where they will be loved on and learn to love themselves again. We would not hesitate for one second to recommend Genesis Recovery to ANYONE who needs substance abuse treatment!

I have worked in the field of addiction and mental health for over 8 years. Personally I feel Genesis is an asset to the community. Their 90-day program is specialized in treating men and I have had great success with the clients that I have placed there and they have been able to maintain sobriety. Key factor that stands out are: fellowship, support, brotherhood, and this is something that the client receives long after graduation. Tommy and Dennis have committed so much of their lives to help others. They are very kind, compassionate and generous. Genesis isnt just treatment, its sobriety and support.

Genesis Recovery, saved my sons life. He was tormented with drug addiction that he could not overcome alone. I was not certain this path would work, as my son did not believe in God. In December 3016 our grandson, John, was given a 2nd chance at life through Genesis Recovery. John went straight to Featherstone camp in a serene location in San Diego County. He was treated by all with kindness, in a community of those going through rehab, and others free from addiction.When we visited John the first time, we saw a young man full of joy.
