Don’t use unless you have thoroughly researched your options. I was sent from another St. Vincent location for a spinal x-ray. I have a Catholic insurer, and this lab and my doctor are both apart of St. Vincent. I can ignore the long wait in the waiting room and dismissive staff- these are things that could just amount to a bad day. However, I was charged over $300 for an X-ray that I had to have repeated, because it failed to capture my entire spine. When I went for my 2nd x-ray, I went to advanced medical imaging (AMI)- this is a provider that is not in network and did not take my insurance; my 2nd x-ray not only provided a complete image, but also cost only $79 without involving insurance. My doctor, another employee of St, Vincent, stated he does not recommend their radiology services and would encourage me to continue to use an out of network provider as it would be cheaper and he preferred working with AMI as opposed to in-network. I highly recommend using a 3rd party imaging service for any medical imaging necessary- it could be substantially cheaper regardless of insurance or in-network status, and in my experience it also has better care and customer service. My experience with the radiological services here have made me question the quality and value of care I am receiving by the Ascension/St. Vincent system as a whole.
