At 72 years of age, I had hoped to avoid surgery; but pain from arthritis became so intense over time that I ended up having two hip replacements within a little over three months. I was able to go home immediately after the surgeries and never needed to take any narcotics. The meds that I did take worked extremely well and my pain was minimal. I am so appreciative for what Tim Billings and Dr. Stickney have done for me. My husband and I are looking forward to hiking again, and I am sleeping well after going long stretches with barely any! I have always been terrified of any surgery and never could have imagined such a positive outcome!! I have my life back. I would highly recommend Tim Billings and Dr. Stickney to anyone needing surgery. Sincerely, Cynthia Brickey.

If you want a doctor that quits on his patients then Dr Stickney is the doctor for you. My wife had a total knee replacement in late Sept 2020. At year end she was still experiencing significant pain, her knee was locking up, not able to perform basic tasks around the home, even sleeping was challenging due to the constant throbbing pain. She went in twice outside of the normal six week follow ups, both times Dr Stickney drained bloody fluid from her knee and told her to come back in six weeks. When I asked him what the plan was to determine the cause of the ongoing pain and bloody fluid he said he did not know. I asked if they had a review board where he can take problem cases to be reviewed by other surgeons to get input, they do not. I asked about the likelihood that there was an alignment issue, to which he indicated no. When pressed for a plan, Dr Stickney told us to get a second opinion from another doctor, he quit on his patient. So 2.5 months after the surgery, a week before Christmas, my wife left his office on crutches in serious pain due to her knee having locked up, when she should have been walking normally without assistance not knowing how she was going to be able to walk normally again. We were fortunate to find a skilled PT that has worked with my wife the past 1.5 months and she has made significant progress. The PT attempted several times to contact Dr Stickney to get insight into her situation, but he did not return his calls. We agree with several other reviews, that he does not communicate well and getting information out of him is a challenge. Dr Stickney did call my wife a month after the Dec appt, inquiring about her, acknowledging the last visit did not go well and asking if she wanted a follow up appt, but suggested she should come without her husband. She did have a phone appt with Dr Stickney where he told her she would not allow him to treat her again, due to his inability or unwillingness to provide guidance throughout the entire process including post surgery rehab, not just the surgery. In addition, the fact that he does not like to be held accountable and quit on her when she needed medical guidance the most.

I had a total knee replacement 1 year ago and I can now hike in the mountains, 7+miles. Ive not been able to do this for decades. Im losing weight, feeling fit, and my never-great cholesterol levels are back to normal. Dr. Stickneys surgical skills are top notch. Dont get me wrong, the process is difficult, but the final results of TKR are amazing. I cant recommend him enough. Plus the staff at ProOrtho Kirkland are all kind and caring.

I had a badly torn meniscus and a lot of pain. I had to give up running and power walking. Dr Sticknee did the surgery to fix it and I was up walking comfortably the second day. My knee feels better then ever and I’m back to running! He’s very straight to the point and made sure I was understanding of the whole process. He didn’t jump right into surgery, he had me try some therapy first. In the end I was extremely happy with all his care! I always recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Stickney has done an excellent job in the ongoing management of my right knee. Hes prescribed therapy and injections as interim measures instead of outright surgery. I appreciate this as other Orthos have been more aggressive in just recommending surgery as an immediate next step.Great experience interacting with Jeff and his staff. They were attentive, informative and truly caring.

He is cold, doesnt share information well, and leaves a person with the idea you are taking up his valuable time. I am a retired nurse and I dont expect to be coddled, but when I have to pry information out of a doctor, I wont return.
