Dr Hilmi is amazing. He put in 4 implants for me. During surgery him and his nurse made sure I was comfortable the complete time I was at the office. I was In pain a few days later and he helped me get through it and was there with me every step of the way. He really cared that is was in pain. Use him you won’t be disappointedI wanted more implants and he was completely honest that I could spend $15,000 and it might not work and I would be better off with a partial denture. He could have tried and taken my money but he didn’t because he truly cares about his patients.

At 37 years old, having a debilitating fear of dentists and oral surgery, I had put this off for way too long. Even though Mid-Hudson Oral and Maxillofacial Practice didnt accept my insurance, I was drawn to Dr. Hilmi because of his excellent track record and decades worth of experience. Ive been suffering in bad pain for weeks with a split wisdom tooth & exposure. Ive spent countless hours/days on phone with my insurance company & trying to call to find an oral surgeon in my area (Kingston, NY) that takes my insurance.When I called Dr Hilmis office I was told he only takes 1 type of insurance. Imagine, 1 type of insurance!I have Medicare/Wellcare/Healthplex & I feel horrible enough with my throbbing tooth, throbbing temple, hurting neck & nausea, but now Im also feeling discriminated against too because I cant find any oral surgeons that take my coverage to get the care I so desperately need.

Of course no one looks forward to oral surgery but Dr Hilmi and his assistant Jillian made the process seamless and yes painless. The office and operatory were immaculate and modern. I had 3 teeth extracted and 2 coronectomys done. I am usually a nervous wreck with anything to do with the dentist. Dr. Hilmi was very thorough and answered every question I had. I felt completely relaxed and no pain at all during the procedure. In which Dr. Hilmi asked me multiple times how I was doing. Dr. Hilmi personally called me the first night after my surgery asking me how I was. It is the day after my procedure and I have very minimum soreness and swelling. Dr Hilmi is gentle, regards you with dignity, and treats his patients with compassion. With no prior history with him and being new to the area, I needed a tooth extracted and was in terrible pain. Getting a tooth pulled is never fun, but the day after I am left feeling relieved, with little to no swelling or lingering pain. This might be my best dental experience ever! Oh my goodness, Dr. Hilmi is amazing! I had to have a wisdom tooth and molar extracted. There was also a cyst around the wisdom tooth that needed to be removed and I also needed a bone graft to replace the bone that the cyst had eaten away. I tend to be on the anxious side anyway, but the thought of this surgery was a bit overwhelming to me since the work that needed to be done was close to a nerve and the aortic vein. Dr. Hilmi is so patient and kind, he calmed my fears and surgery was scheduled for last Friday. I was nervous because Ive never been in the hospital for anything other than the birth of my daughter, but he has such a calming presence, I was able to get through it. He made himself available to me for the whole weekend following the surgery and was there for me when I had a reaction to Augmentin. It is five days later and I have no pain and I feel 99% back to myself. Dr. Hilmi and his office manager, Gillian, are both wonderfully warm people. If you need something done, dont hesitate - go here!!

Not that getting oral surgery is the most pleasant experience but Dr. Hilmi sure did make it as pleasant as possible. Dr. Hilmi is an exceptional oral surgeon. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience than with Dr. Hilmi and his staff. After experiencing wisdom tooth related pain, I called my regular dentist at Aspen Dental only to find out that my state employee dental insurance wouldn’t cover a wisdom tooth extraction. To add insult to injury, Aspen required a cash deposit before even booking the surgery. I immediately declined and called my insurance agency directly to find out why a wisdom tooth extraction wasn’t covered in full. Turned out that Aspen does this often but my insurance company recommended Dr. Hilmi who would be fully covered. I am SO glad they recommended him! Jillian answered my call and was able to get me in to see Dr. Hilmi right away. Dr. Hilmi and his staff were punctual, friendly, accommodating, and most importantly professional. He knew exactly what to do. I was booked for surgery as quickly as possible. The staff even worked around my busy personal schedule and got me in swiftly. I healed as quickly as possible and all my needs were taken care of. Dr. Hilmi & his assistant gave me the best treatment possible especially during the difficult to navigate times of Covid-19. They are friendly, professional & kind. They took careful precautions that put me at ease. I called with a painful infected wisdom tooth and they got me in for a consultation the next week when no one else would see me due to the pandemic. I got my two top wisdom teeth out with just a oral seditive and local anesthesia. It was so quick and painless, and they talked me through the whole thing. My teeth healed in a week! I highly reccomend Dr. Hilmi for a tooth extraction.

Actually I would give 4 & 1/2 stars. I was able to get an emergency appointment for a consultation the very same day I had a problem. Dr. Hilmi knew exactly what I needed done. His assistant Gillian worked very hard to get a COVID-19 appt. scheduled and then my appt. for a tooth extraction. Everything was extremely clean and safe. When I got my negative COVID test back I was able to proceed with my appt. It took longer for the anesthetic to take effect than for the tooth removal. I could not believe how quickly the procedure was. The only criticism I had was that the oral directions I received afterwards did not match the one on the written instructions for day 2 & 3. When Gillian did a follow-up call, I mentioned this to help clear up confusion for others. Listen well as you get out of the chair. I would go back to this office any time I had a problem and highly recommend Dr. Hilmi to others. He was also recommended by my childrens dentist and a local nurse both whose opinions I trust.

This is by far the best oral surgeon facility! Dr Hilmi and his assistant Jillian make you feel very comfortable the entire time you are there and also answer any questions you have. They do not rush you in and out of the office like most places would, they take their time to make sure all questions are answered. I went to them with a upper right wisdom tooth pain. called the week before and they were able to get me in the next week! I heard horror stories about getting a wisdom tooth pulled but with Dr Hilmi it was a breeze. The procedure wasnt very long and the pain was not nearly as bad as everyone had told me it was going to be! I think a lot had to do with how great the doctor is at what he does. I didnt even need any stitches! Dr Hilmi walked me through everything he was doing during the surgery and was a very knowledgable doctor. If any dental work is needed on my teeth or my families teeth again, Dr Hilmi will be getting the call for sure! Very glad I chose to go here!

EXCELLENT CARE AND SERVICE! I cannot express enough what a wonderful experience I had with Dr. Hilmi. I had a complicated extraction of a baby and adult tooth which affected my sinus. He made me comfortable and at ease through the whole experience. But more importantly, he cared about my concern that I am still nursing my little one and worked with me on treatment so that I would not have to stop or interrupt nursing. He did the whole procedure with local anesthetic only - no pain meds or sedation - and I didnt feel any pain! He always asked if I was ok and if I wanted more numbing, he gave it to me right away. He is continuing to follow up with me while I heal and has answered and returned calls all times of day and took time out of his Sunday to see me to follow up. When I had some swelling thereafter, he found a medication I could take that wouldnt impact my nursing. This is a good guy! And Jillian is just as wonderful! Ive appreciated all of their efforts in putting me back together and the kindness theyve extended to me. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I had two teeth extracted and I honestly didnt feel a thing during or after the procedure, I didnt even think that was possible. Let me add that I only had local anesthesia and I healed up completely within a week. I procrastinated for about a year having this dental work done and I likely turned a one tooth extraction into a two tooth extraction with my procrastination. Dont hesitate like I did. This review is coming many months too late--sorry Dr. Hilmi!I have had two wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Hilmi over a period of about a year. Let me tell you: I experienced NO pain after EITHER of the procedures!! I did not even take a single motrin at home, there was no need. This is in stark contrast to two other extractions that I had done in NYC (back when I used to live there), both of which resulted in weeks of pain afterwards.Obviously, I cannot make any guarantee regarding anyone elses dental work, as I am sure that the circumstances vary from one procedure to the next, and some discomfort is probably unavoidable at times. However, I was simply astonished that there was NO pain at all after either extraction.As for the experience of the surgery itself, Dr. Hilmi and his assistant were both genuinely friendly and calm, which helped relieve some of the anxiety that we all feel during dental work. They have great teamwork together, and both of my procedures were over and done after about 10 minutes.Dr. Hilmi, thank you. I will definitely be returning should I need any other dental work in the future.

Dr Hilmi saw me at a moments notice for an emergency at the end of the day. He made a difficult and painful procedure bearable and, dare I say, enjoyable. The next day, to my surprise, Dr Hilmi actually called me to see how I was doing and to check up on me. I cant remember the last time a physician did that. Five stars, hands down.

He listened to my concerns, and took them into consideration when preparing for the extraction, during the actual procedure, and in the post-operative care. I was recently recommended by my dentist to have wisdom tooth extraction and after meeting with their in-house oral surgeon who recommended extraction of my two lowers, I left the dental office feeling uneasy and like they were trying to rush me into a surgery that I was not prepared for. Flash forward to a couple of months later, at the high recommendation of several of my coworkers I booked a consultation with Dr. Hilmi and I AM SO GLAD I DID. Dr. Hilmis professionalism and knowledge were above and beyond what I expected, given my most recent encounter with an oral surgeon. He was friendly, personable and created an environment where I felt comfortable expressing my concerns and he very patiently addressed all of them. I met with him twice prior to my extraction and each time he took the time to answer all of my questions and I never felt like I had anything but his undivided attention. At his recommendation, I just recently had 3 out of 4 wisdom teeth extracted and I was amazed out how minimal the discomfort and swelling was! I had some mild discomfort the day of the surgery but slept through most of it and by the next day I had almost no pain and minimal swelling, which is amazing as we expected a difficult extraction! The best part about my encounter with Dr. Hilmi, and I cant emphasize this enough, is the confidence and peace of mind I had going into my surgery knowing that I was in the most capable hands. My boyfriend had 2 broken bones in his face after an accident. His jaws and teeth where destroyed after an atv tumble. Dr. Hilmi put him back together in the operating room. Visited him every day while he was in the hospital. He is extremely dedicated to his patients and the work he does. Returns calls whenever you have questions. Dr. Hilmi has extracted three of my wisdom teeth over the course of 14 years. I always joke with him that I dont let anyone rip my teeth out but him, haha! But, its true :) Like many of you reading this, by the time I land in his office Im in a great deal of pain. He takes the pain away! He is a wonderful oral surgeon, skilled & precise, yet also a kind and compassionate doctor, very personable. As a cancer survivor, I had special considerations for a tooth extraction. I am so thankful that I was referred to Dr Hilmi by my wonderful dentist, Dr. Hottum (also of Kingston.)Dr. Hilmi is a skilled oral surgeon- caring and detail oriented. He explained the procedure and assured me that it would go well. He has a calm manner and his kindness and concern are amazing. Over the summer, an infection developed near one of my bottom wisdom teeth. My dentist recommended that I go to an oral surgeon due to the proximity of the tooths roots to a nerve. I did extensive research and ultimately chose Dr. Hilmi. Im so glad I did. As a wind instrumentalist, I was worried about lasting numbness in my lower lip and tongue. Dr. Hilmi respected my concerns, took a number of x-rays and developed an approach that fit me personally. Together, we decided to perform a coronectomy, which went perfectly. Dr. Hilmi also scheduled several free follow-ups to make sure everything was okay. Thanks to his excellent care and expertise, everything is healing nicely, and Im back at my rehearsals. I recently had an amazing experience with Dr. Hilmi. I had to have a wisdom tooth extracted and have never had one taken out before. I suffer from TMJD and anxiety so naturally I was a little nervous that it would further irritate my tmj. The procedure took literally 5 minutes and he was so gentle and mindful of keeping my jaw open too long or too wide. The procedure was done quickly, painlessly, and with no irritation to my tmj. I had no pain or swelling aftward either. I will recommend Dr Hilmi to everyone I know.

I was vacationing in the area and was experiencing a great deal of pain and discomfort from a partial root canal that was abandoned and needed to be fully extracted. Not only did his assistant Nicole get me an appt and into his office right away, Dr. Hilmis care was compassionate and gentle. Which goes a long way for someone like me who is TERRIFIED of any and all dental procedures. He also did not shame me in any way like my usual dentist does. He was understanding and never made me feel like a fool for letting the situation get to the point it had. The extraction went perfectly and he had me on my way in less than an hour. He also called me unprompted two days after the procedure to check on me which was greatly appreciated.Several days later I started experiencing pain from other teeth and was worried something was going awry with my healing. Again, Dr Hilmi was able to see me right away and assess the situation. We couldnt figure out the source of the pain but he gave me several recommendations to try and figure it out. He suggested I get a teeth cleaning from my usual dentist and today that is what I did and can already feel some of the pain alleviating. He saved me from another week of unimaginable pain and I am forever indebted.I hope this review can help anyone on the fence about picking a new oral surgeon. You wont regret it with Dr. Hilmi.

I came across Dr. Hilmi by luck this past Saturday, September 8th 2017. I developed a tooth ache from a broken tooth and needed to have it extracted. I could not find one Dr available in Eastern Dutchess County or Poughkeepsie/Fishkill area for an emergency extraction . When I called Dr. Himlis office he actually answered the phone and I asked if he had an emergency appointment available today. His response was I am actually just doing paper work in the office today but I do not want you in pain so come see me and I will help comfort you with Medication and see whats going on.The drive was 1 hour 15 minutes from my house to go to Kingston and I am so glad I made that choice. Dr Hilmi not only Prescribed antibiotics and pain medicine but booked me first thing Monday Morning to extract the tooth.Dr, Hilmi went above and beyond on his day of just doing paperwork to help me. He did not charge for an emergency office visit as well! You dont hear of Dr.s doing this. I cannot express how patient and sincere Dr Hilmi is to patients.Today , Monday September 11th 2017 i had the tooth extracted with no complications at all. I even went to work with very little discomfort.His office is spotless, and decorated with unique antiques, even a fish.tank. I am so glad I found an amazing Oral Surgeon. All I can say is Dr. Hilmi and his staff are amazing! I was in serous pain when I called his office and he made sure that he saw me that day. He did an Xray and determined the tooth had to come out. I was a little concerned about how much it was going to hurt, but he reassured me I wouldnt feel a thing. Sure enough he was right, I was in and out with in an hour with no pain during or after the procedure. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Hilmi and suggest everyone go see him. A great dentist with great prices as well!

I was referred to Dr. Hilmi from my dentist for the removal and other work to be done. I went in for the consult and was greeted by hid very friendly staff, who assured me I had come to the right place.I met with Dr. Hilmi I told him I was extremely nervous, he said trust me you will feel no pain. I had an apt. Later that week but the pain was to much so I called and they went out of there way to fit me in. I had NO pain as he promised. I went for checkups since when he advised me that if I was in pain that he would be there for me over the weekend to contact if needed....wow how often do you hear that!Anyhow, you can rest easy knowing if you choose to see Dr. Hilmi you will be greeted with smiles and nothing but professionalism. 🙂

I would like to inform Ulster residents that Matthew Hilmi is an excellent oral surgeon. I had developed a large cyst in my maxillofacial area that was undetected for many years. After consultations with several surgeons, Dr Hilmi was my obvious choice. After researching and examining my problem, he explained in detail what needed to be done. He was knowledgeable, available, and compassionate. Even when my issue became an emergency operation, I felt confident in Dr. Hilmi as he had prepared me for all possible outcomes. I am very fortunate to have had him as my surgeon, because I am now doing great even a year after surgery. In addition to excellent post operative care, he continued follow up for well over a year to ensure my total recovery. Dr. Hilmi is an excellent choice for any oral surgery needs.

I recently had to have my 89 year old mother visit Dr Hilmi due to a problem with a few of her teeth.The experience with Dr Hilmi and his office staff was wonderful. He made my mom feel very relaxed.He preformed oral surgery and removed 4 of her teeth. My Moms recovery was great and Dr Hilmi was very kind. We would highly recommend Dr Hilmi .
