I called to book an appointment on 10/20/21 in the am for a facial . Who ever I talked to said they had a 12 noon appointment so I agreed .I got there 30 mins before my appointment time like they asked me too . The women checked me in took me to the relaxation room . It’s about 12:37 and my appointment is at 12 so I go down to the receptionist and it’s a new girl on . I explain to her i have an appointment at noon and it’s already 1237 she looks up my information and come to find out my appointment is for 10/22/21 at noon .1. How did the lady make the mistake of booking me for Friday when I said I need an appointment today a million times2. Even if she did make that mistake when I came in and gave her my info. She should have seen when my appointment was .3. What was in the folder she took up with her while getting me ready for my appointment.I had an event that I have to attend to today so now I have no time to go else where .This mistake should have been caught . The first time I went I had a great experience and that is why I came back .I will not return .I have a few wedding in my family coming up and some girl spa days as well .We will find else where to go.I work with a lot of bridal parties who want spa days and I definitely will direct them else where .The best they could do was book me at 4pm .Why would I come back after that . She also seem to not care about what happened but was not very surprised the lady in the sweater dress working 10/20/21 in the am did what she did

I have been going to wood house for over a decade and even though I dont live in the area anymore I choose their spa when I am visiting. I got a facial from Mary this past weekend and once again Absolutely Incredible experience ! So pleased to know that even after all this time Woodhouse Day spa still creates the most relaxing atmosphere with an experienced team!

First of all - I was over charged after giving them a gift card of $80, they charged my bank card in full, waiting for a call back on that.. but honestly this spa is lucky that I was even willing to pay. In the middle of my nail service, the concierge said “they moved an appointment right after yours last minute, do you mind if I only do a manicure and not the spa treatment?” Leaving out the details of payment and difference in treatment. Completely unprofessional. I will never return here for service again.Also, the treatment itself was subpar. Don’t waste your time here. Go to another area for a better spa treatment.

I had the worst pedicure that I ever had. I only had my nails clipped and my nails painted. My cuticles were untouched and my nails are all uneven. I could have done a better job at home. I will be getting another pedicure next week at a different place. I will not be returning for a pedicure here.

I have been an patron of the woodhouse day spa for years. I have had many facials, massages, nail care etc. all services and staff being wonderful. Recently, the spa introduced the Hydrafacial. For those that don’t know, the Hydrafacial machine is the Rolls Royce of facials. I was hesitant with the price, as it is pricer than your typical facial. I immediately jumped on an appointment when I saw the spa debuted a mini Hydrafacial for $50 during their December open house. I have had many facials, though nothing had prepared me for the Hydrafacial I had received at the Woodhouse Day Spa. So what is the Hydrafacial? In my words, it is a hydrating microdermabrasion on steroids, yet gentle and kind. The Hydrafacial uses technology to cleanse, deep clean, and hydrate. My phrase post appointment was “my skin feels so much lighter/cleaner”. I am now 3 days post Hydrafacial and I continue to see/feel results. I actually think I heard my skin thank me for the treatment. My pores are smaller (and cleaner). My skin is soft and smooth. With being in the mist of winter, my skin shows no signs of dulliness or dryness. So is the Hydrafacial worth it? Yes yes yes. I was skeptical due to having sensitive skin, allergies, and the cost but as soon as I finished my appointment, I sought out the staff to book another. I suffered minimal redness that was gone within a half hour, there was no downtime. Thank you Woodhouse for bringing such an amazing service to the area.If there is any doubt about treating yourself to a Hydrafacial, don’t be skeptical. Reward yourself, your skin will thank you.P.S Another added bonus shop their showroom for recently added Skinceutical products.

I had the worst Brazilian wax I’ve ever had. It hurt like hell, and I still have patches of hair. It’s been hours and it still hurts. On top of that, it was more expensive than any of my previous waxes. Not worth it. I regret going there in the first place.

This was a perfect place to treat myself and my daughters to relax and rejuvenate. We had the package that included the massage, facial and pedicure. It was amazing. All of the practitioners were awesome and could not do enough for us! The house is cozy, serene and you feel the stress melt off of you as soon as you cross the threshold. There is no pressure to purchase anything. You really get the feeling they are there to meet your needs with no hidden agenda. Go and treat yourself ... this is a wonderful gem that I just happen to stumble upon and so glad I did.

My friend and I went for a side-by-side Woodhouse pedicure. Our nail technicians were very attentive to our needs. They adjusted certain aspects of the pedicure to suit our preferences (we don’t like the seaweed wrap), and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and relaxation. Our service providers made sure we were satisfied with our polish color and even fixed an entire toe when I accidentally smudged it.Yes, it’s expensive, but we were fortunate to have received gift cards that we used. The experience is wonderful and sincerely appreciated.

We had a rocky start, the facility lost our bookings due to computer issues but the owner was able to get us back in which we were thankful for. The massage therapists are nothing but professional and the entire atmosphere is wonderfully relaxing. I reccomend to anyone needing a place to unwind!

The only place Ill go for a massage in the area. The staff is attentive, friendly, and professional. The do everything right, from the aromatherapy when you first walk in, to the calm music, to the dim lighting, to the subtle water trickling noises. The therapists are absolutely wonderful and listen to your needs. The gift shop is pricey, but the tea selection is excellent.

The massage I had with Ian was just ok. I dont know if he had a cold that day but he stopped to blow his nose 3 times during the massage. He never offered a word of apology either or reassured me that he wasnt spreading his germs on me. Also, it was an 80 minute massage and only maybe the last 10 minutes were spent on my back?!?! That was really disappointing. Isnt that where most of the stress relief comes from?? A back and neck massage?On the other hand the facial I had that day was excellent. Dont know if Ill go back though.

My wife and I have come here multiple times, and each time we are impressed by how wonderful an experience it is. The atmosphere is utterly tranquil and rejuvenating, and the quality and quantity of amazing spa services they offer are second to none. Youll feel like a new person when you leave and youll definitely come back for more. We sure have, and well continue to as well.

She is very knowledgeable and such a kind soul who makes my visits feel special. She really takes the time to educate me about my own personal skin care concerns. The whole entire atmosphere of this spa is so relaxing and everyone who works here makes you feel important and special. You will definitely leave feeling relaxed and super pampered. I always recommend coming here to people and especially if they are looking for a great aesthetician.

I looked at the clock in the room at it read 9:03...I paid for a 120 min (2hr) and when it was over, the clock was covered by 2 small massage oil bottles...I moved one at it read 11:58. I was cut short exactly 5 min. That was not cool. One thing I liked about J. Madison is that they offed a 2hr massage...Woodhouse offers a 1hr 50 min and for the extra 10 minutes at J. Madison, it only cost $10 more. Woodhouse however did not short change me on the time...I got what I paid for. The main reason why I tried both places out within a week of each other is that I want to find a place that I can join their monthly membership. The other differences I mentioned (see previous review) were not deal breakers but being shortchanged 5 min was not cool. And I gave a 55% tip because the actual massage was very good...but getting shortchanged that 5 min makes me want to think twice about starting a monthly membership. (why did I tip so well?) Also, when I booked at J. Madison I told them I was testing them next to Woodhouse and I was going to pick one for a monthly membership. With that in mind, I was told I would be getting Bianca...and she was one of their best. When I got there...I got someone else. However, Jolene was good...I was just expecting someone else based upon what they indicated when I booked it. To the owners of both Woodhouse and J. Madison...in the spa world...I would think attention to detail is critical. No small think should be left to chance. Overall...I think Woodhouse wins my personal test...but not by much. The better overall spa experience and atmosphere. The extra 5 min paid for at J. Madison and not received (as indicated by their own clock in the room) just rubs me the wrong way (no pun intended). To the owners of Woodhouse....please consider a 2 hr message max instead of 1hr 50 min...Id pay the extra money and you would match the 2hr J. Madison offers and your attention to detail has the overall edge. If J. Madison made some minor changes...and they gave what I paid for...I would probably consider them first. They just need to do a better job at doing what they say, tweaking the process (see previous review) and giving the client what they paid for.

I received a gift card for a pedicure and massage from my family for mother’s Day . I was able to schedule the pedicure and had a wonderful experience with Maria . However, I attempted to schedule the massage and was told there was no availability till sometime in July . Very disappointed!! The lack of availability should be disclosed upon purchasing the service . My family could have purchased a massage elsewhere that I could use timely .

My boyfriend surprised me with a spa day for my 23rd birthday in February which was my first time going here and I thoroughly enjoyed it! All the staff were wonderful, the facial was my favorite and I even went back a second time just to buy the aloe face cleanser. While I don’t remember the names of the other amazing people who did my services, Nada Elbattah helped me find the face wash I ordered while being there and she was outstanding! Definitely recommend 10/10 and I’ll be surprising my boyfriend with a couple spa date for our 2 year anniversary in October! (Shhhhh!) thanks so much to everyone at woodgouse spa in Kingston :)

Had my first visit to Woodhouse and overall my experience was positive. I am by no means a spa expert and so take my review for what its worth. I will compare J. Madison to the Woodhouse which is next store. I visited Woodhouse two weeks ago and J. Madison this week, both for a sweetish massage. Ill base my review on the pre-massage and then the actual massage itself.J. Madison vs. Woodhouse pre massage. They both are on busy wyoming ave. Upon entering J. Madison, the two gals at the front desk were pleasant and inviting. Woodhouse was also pleasant but more business like...splitting hairs here..the gals at J. Madison were just a bit more outgoing and friendly. Woodhouse waiting area is more spa like. J. Madison was not bad however I would recommend having relaxing spa music played int he waiting area...to get in a relaxing mood. The street traffic was loud and if there was inviting music being played in the waiting area...it would set the mood. Woodhouse wins in this area...very relaxing area before the actual massage and street traffic could not be heard. After completing a client form at both...I was escorted up stairs. Woodhouse has a better locker area that is separate from the toilet area. J. Madison locker and toilet area is combined into one space. Also, Woodhouse locker felt like it was ready for just me. They had one rope hanging and slippers for a man. J. Madison had 6 or 7 robes hanging all in one area and the one issue is that all the slippers were closed inside the robes. I picked one...opened it up...ladies slippers...chose another...same thing...I ended up putting on what was probably a size 7 ladies slipper because I did not want to open up each robe that was tied closed in order to find a robe that had slippers for a man inside. You could not see that unless you untied each robe. Not a big deal...just an observation that if I owned J. Madison I would make an adjustment with that presentation. Also, Woodhouse had combs and hair gel/moose in the bathroom area. This was very helpful because after a long massage at both places, the therapists at both places did an awesome job on the head/scalp area and my hair that already had gel in it...made it looked like I had serious bed headwhen It was over. Woodhouse must be aware of this and had sterile combs there to use along with hair moose to fix the hair... If I was heading back to the office after J. Madison, it would have been an issue as I had no way of fixing a messy head of hair. That attention to detail by Woodhouse was a nice touch. I would encourage J. Madison to make this very easy fix for the client. One other thing to mention, when I left the locker area at J. Madison to look for the therapist, I stumbled onto a storage room and employee break room since that door was wide open. That room is obviously not for a client to see as it looks like what it is...a storage and or break room. That door should be kept closed...it takes from that relaxing spa atmosphere that I think clients look for. Its like seeing a messy kitchen for a high end restaurant....just dont want to see that and I am sure it was not for me to see....the door was just left wide open. Again, its that attention to detail. Overall...I feel like Woodhouse won the pre-massageexperience but its not a major issue...just something I think J. Madison should be made aware of.The actual massage: J. Madison vs Woodhouse. First let me say, I think both were really good. I also understand that each therapist has their own technique...like a snowflake...no two are alike. If I had to pick on the actual massage...I am leaning toward J. Madison on this particular day. I had Nichole at Woodhouse and she was really good....I had Jolene at J. Madison and she was really good too...maybe just a tad better. But one MAJOR ISSUE I had with J. Madison is that when the actual massage started....(continued on next review...running out of space)
