We have been going to Dr. Matechak since we moved to GA and they are fantastic. My appointments always go without a hitch and they are always great to deal with. Dr. actually sits down and talks to me about everything and takes his time. The nurse is alway so pleasant to talk to and does a great job drawing my blood. I am very happy with them and i am hoping the doctor doesnt retire for a long time to come. If you find someone good, stay with them.

Dr. Matechak was friendly and the nurse/MA was very friendly as well but I am upset with the functions of the office. I called and scheduled a routine yearly check up which includes blood work. The main reason I wanted the appointment was for the blood work because I have had irregular results from a doctor in the past so I wanted a second opinion. After taking my PTO from work to come and have this appointment, I arrive and the nurse and doctor ask me if I fasted before the appointment to which I say no because I was never told do so when scheduling. They say it is fine and I can schedule another appointment to come in for the bloodwork and ANOTHER appointment to come in and discuss the findings from the bloodwork (so two more times of using my PTO).I was annoyed but looked past it because they were kind and just figured Ill call another time when I have more time to come in but then I receive a bill for $130 in the mail yesterday for the appointment. I call the office and explain to them what happened and they agree I shouldnt be billed for the visit however since I am a new patient and I saw the doctor there is nothing they can do to write off the charge?I work in a doctors office and I am not trying to bash anyone but if the error is on the practice themselves then I should not be penalized or made to pay a fee for an appointment that I didnt want or need.Hopefully they find a way to resolve this issue moving forward.

Great practice. I have been a patient for 3+ years and have always had a good experience. Im a medical professional myself and I know excellent clinical care alongside great customer service is difficult to find in the medical world these days. Not only does Dr. Matchak take the time to listen to you and address your questions, Samantha, Mandy and the rest of his team are always incredibly helpful. Five Star service all the way around!

I have been going to Dr. Matechak ( I call him Dr. Mat) for almost 10 years now, and I would not want to go anywhere else. The staff is friendly, wonderful, and they ALWAYS know who I am, remember things about me, AND they always ask about my son (relevant, up to date questions, not the superficial ones someone would ask if they didnt know you). Mr. Mat has the BEST bedside manner. He explains everything in laymans terms and makes me feel comfortable telling him anything. I feel more like hes a friend which eases any tensions about any problems Im experiencing. Dr. Mat doesnt take anything for granted. One example...before starting with Kennesaw Mountain Medical Group, I was a patient of Kaiser and others. There was a knot in my arm that would swell and hurt at certain times. Kaiser and one other doc told me its just a vein, dont worry about it. They even attempted for several years to take blood from it every time I went to the doctor. Each time, they would get a little then have to switch arms. Well, this went on for over ten years. So, I thought I just had to deal with it. Oh well, they told me it was nothing. A little bothersome, but thats ok. Right? Well...I started going to Dr. Mat years later, and I said to him the same exact thing I said to the other doctors. The difference was that Dr. Mat didnt say, oh its just a vein, nothing to worry about...as the others did. He said, I dont like that, its not normal for a vein to do that. Lets have it checked out. He sent me to a specialist. I ended up having surgery and they removed a tumor the size of a quarter that was wrapped around my vein. Then while they were in there, the surgeon found another one the size of a dime right under it. He had gone out to the waiting room to talk to my partner because it was going to take a bit longer than he thought. He was glad they caught it. He said it was akin to an aneurysm in my arm, and if it had burst, lets just say it would not have been good. I am grateful to Dr. Matechak every day for taking the time to listen to me and care enough to send me to a specialist to have it checked out. I trust him implicitly with my health and wellbeing. Thats not the only situation, but one of the first that I found myself thankful for. I plan to move from Kennesaw soon, and Ive decided that I will take whatever the drive time is to stay with Dr. Mat. Sorry for the lengthy review, however; I just wanted to give my personal experience.
