He is the worst orthopedic surgeon I have had. He messed up my right leg. Didnt attach the muscle back over my knee. Walked in the hospital and came out with crutches. Still on the crutches. Cant walk with my right leg because there is no muscle and everytime I get an air born staff infection.

I had to have emergency back surgery my spinal cord was unattached and severed in 3 places and Dr Dennis McGowan had five minutes to save me from being paralyzed. I won’t let anyone but Dr McGowan do the surgeries that is done on my neck or back. He is the best surgeon I know. In fact my primary doctor told me years ago if I wanted my back fixed that I cracked in the Army he would send me to the best surgeon he knew and he made me a appointment with Dr McGowan. He knows what he is doing and has excellent bed side manners. He listens to his patients. I will forever be thankful for not being paralyzed

The office is disgusting. I had to have an epidural injection done by him and it was definitely not done in a sterile environment there was trash all over the operatingroom. I have had much better care since I left and went elsewhere. His idea of pain control after a major surgery is a joke. It took a different surgeon in the hospital checking in on me to get actual pain medication. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy! I should have known better when his sister who does all of his book keeping and insurance claims and lives in another state would insist time and time again that he really is the best.

Dr. McGowan himself is a polite and knowledgeable specialist. However, his office set-up and staffing are below average and unacceptable for a medical facility. When you call Dr. McGowan’s office, you generally are pushed to Voicemail. After forgoing erroneous behavior from this office, I am looking forward to seeing a different local physician with greater availability and an on-call receptionist.

He did my 1st hip replacement in98, it lasted 19 years! An awesome job! Love his caring attitude & expertise! He is doin the upgrade this month, am look In forward to it!!
