Do NOT seek care here if you are African-American and on Kansas Medicaid. The doctors, and many of the nurses, could care less about you or your needs.

My OB was doctor French she was the sweetest most compassionate person. Unfortunately I went into labor a week early and she didn’t get to deliver my son, but came to visit the day after I gave birth to check on me. Currently pregnant with baby #2 and she’s booked solid so have to try another doctor. :(

Ive had two IUD insertions here and Dr. French has been amazing during both procedures. My first IUD was partially expelled and thus had to be taken out. Dr. French and her team were really compassionate and helped ease my nerves. I would definitely recommend Dr. French for those looking into contraceptives.

University of Kansas Physicians OBGYN has been absolutely amazing. Each and every Doctor, Nurse and Resident has been attentive, supportive, knowledgeable and thorough in all examinations and visits. I saw Dr. French and her resident, Dr. Estrada and her resident, several nurses, all made me feel very comfortable and made both good times and bad as enjoyable as possible. I couldnt recommend this office of healthcare professionals more!

Ladies, I have some interesting information to share. My well-woman annual exam is covered by my insurance with no co-pay or so I thought. I was seen in August of this year went in, had my exam, checked out and was told no co-pay. One month later I got a bill for my co-pay amount. I called billing to ask why and was informed my doctor coded that I had another diagnosis. I had been seen in the past for a problem which was greatly improved and did not need any further intervention, however, since that was coded, I was to pay a co-pay. Never before has this happened to me. This visit is a venue to ask questions to your doctor. The female billing person told me that during a well woman exam, you are to go in, get your exam and not ask any questions or you will be billed a copay. This is not where you discuss any problems. I called the GYN office manager who read off this big long sign that is supposedly posted in all exam rooms about the well woman visit (my fault for not reading it). The office manger informed me that when she goes for her exam she tells the doctor she cant discuss anything since this is a well woman exam . My doctor had asked me how I was doing (related to my previous problem) and I answered her question. There was no prescription, no change in care or no further information provided and I am getting billed!!! This is very sad and destroys the patient/doctor relationship. I am posting this so women will know what to expect and hopefully do not get billed when it is not warranted. Bottom line, it was my fault for NOT reading my insurance policy thoroughly, not reading a sign posted in the exam room (which I do not recall) AND the fact that I answered my doctors question. I wonder if the doctors are aware of what their patients are being told? Loved my doctor, but I wont be back.

My experience is that the doctor was really rude. And that she didnt help me with my problem. I would not be returning to this place.

I had complications during my pregnancy. I had multiple ER visits and my OB Dr. Sarah Baldassaro didnt think I needed to follow up with her. I went to Providence ER once because it was closer. They made me a follow up with Dr. Baldassaro. I got there and Steph, her nurse, said she didnt need to see me. They lost my blood sample, and multiple urine samples. I eventually delivered my stillborn baby on the labor and delivery triage unit by myself. NO STAFF WERE ON THE UNIT DURING MY DELIVERY. NO CALL LIGHT AND NO WAY TO CALL FOR HELP. I had to scream for help for minutes before anyone returned to the triage unit. I already contacted Patient Relations because I would hate for this to happen to anyone else. I was told they would look into this and contact me the following day. I called them again with additional issues, and no call back until I contacted Bob Pages office. Im disgusted and disappointed by the lack of safety in this hospital and the OB/Labor and Delivery area.
