I have had a wonderful experience with dogpawz. Unfortunately, it can be expensive, but their prices are the same as other places i had also looked into. Each day I brought Rufus, hed come in wagging his tail and the welcoming him and petting him. Often I was jealous of how much he loved them and then I came to the realization that I am so happy and grateful that the people I am trusting my dog with love him and he loves them back. They are also willing to work with you if you ask about training commands and if you ask them how they manage your dog. My dog has fear aggression. He has been going there since he was barely 6m old and hes almost been going there for a year and they have helped me with him so much. Rufus loves going there!

Our dog 🐕 ❤ s Pawz. She is not happy if she doesnt go. She actually has buddies at Pawz who she loves to play with. Of great importance - the staff is comprised of the nicest and most professional group of people that I have ever met. 5 Stars and Cheers!

Im going to be honest here. I have contemplated writing a review for this place since July. Here I am in September writing the review because I regret leaving my dogs here.Firstly, this facility is quite literally a concrete box with concrete rooms. No sunlight, no outside space, and hardly anywhere for your dog to actually relax. (There is maybe 1 or 2 of those hard cot style beds for all of the dogs to use). The smell inside is really bad. Obviously I dont expect it to smell like roses because its a business for dogs, but this is by far the worst smelling dog boarding/ daycare I have ever been to.This business claims that they take your dog on frequent walks, but the lady at the front desk told me it entirely depends on how hot it is. She said if its higher than 90 degrees they dont take the dogs out. Well, in July thats every day. So basically all of the dogs used the bathroom inside every time they needed to go. Not just accidents.The staff does not interact with the dogs like they claim. Honestly, I find it hilarious that they offer live video because it just makes them look bad. I checked the live camera very frequently and never saw someone actually interacting with the dogs.Additionally, BOTH of my dogs came home with an upper respiratory infection that took 2 and half weeks to get rid of. Probably from the gross environment. I now know why this was the only boarding facility to have availability on July 4th weekend.I dont know how this business operates during cooler weather, but I can say in July of 2021 I was not pleased. I felt quite guilty for leaving my dogs there.

I did not have a good first impression when I took my dog to Dog Pawz for his temperament test. For one, the website mentions that there are attendants monitoring each playroom, but on the video feed, it looked like it was just somebody walking around checking in on each playroom every so often. Other similar doggie day camp places we’ve been to have attendants actually inside the playrooms. Things can happen at a moment’s notice with dogs and I was not comfortable leaving my dog to play with others in a playroom that was not sufficiently monitored.Additionally, the front desk person did not provide any sort of overview of the facility to me as a first time client. No information on safety procedures, methods/philosophy, staff and staff training/certifications, cleanliness, etc.There were no outdoor areas for the dogs and even though the website mentioned the dogs get frequent “walks,” nobody offered to explain how frequently they get “walks” or for how long. What if my dog doesn’t do well on a leash or requires a certain kind of leash? What if my dog is reactive to other dogs, cars, etc. on walks? There was no opportunity to explain any of this.Finally, I personally do not like the “open concept” boarding. I think dogs need breaks from each other and leaving them together in the same playroom 24/7 makes me uncomfortable. And I don’t think the wire crates in the playrooms truly offer “privacy.” My dog is not going to willingly go into a wire crate to get a break from the other dogs.So overall not a good impression and not the right fit for us. Maybe some of these concerns could have been alleviated if I were provided more information on this facility, but again, nobody offered to give any sort of overview (besides the fact that the reception is not separate from the daycare area which makes it impossible to have a conversation over the barking).

Hoot and I love Dog Pawz! I take my dog here about once per week to get his socializing hours in. I also board him here when I go out of town. My dog is a lot to handle and I feel they really accommodate him even though he’s craazy. :) The staff is friendly and very helpful always.

So pleased to have found this place! I was concerned because my dog has some anxiety and I wasn’t sure how she would respond, I was able to view her behavior online, took her a little bit to warm up but she did okay! The staff is friendly and attentive, I have my dog scheduled for a day care and boarding, super excited about getting her out of her shell! So grateful to the staff for taking care of my girl!

I can’t wait to bring my boy back! He passed his assessment today, and with that they gave me a great deal on a package for 7 full daycare days! I loved getting a report card with how he did during the day. Thanks Dog Pawz!

We love Dog Pawz! My Husky mix is always exhausted when he comes home because he gets to play so much. I wish they had an outdoor dog area, but other than that its amazing!

They treat my pup like he is part of their family. He gets so excited when we arrive and never wants to leave when I pick him up. I always feel comfortable dropping him off because I know they take amazing care of him

Dog Pawz is the only place I can take my dog. Though he dislikes most people outside my household, he loves them because they took the time his first visit, years ago, to acclimate him and befriend him. Thereafter, he has been super excited and happy to see them every time. Highly recommended!!

Bella and I love Dog Pawz! I know when I have long days at work, shes happy there, and since shes an older, small dog I appreciate that they customize her experience each day. The people are so nice and friendly, and I trust them completely!

My dog is always excited when I am dropping himoff at Dog Pawz. I feel comfortable knowing there are live cameras to be able to lay eyes on him. When I pick him up and bring him home he is always tired. I would fully recommend this place!

We dropped off our two needy dogs. Both are easily stressed. One is very shy. They seemed to do well when we checked in on the cameras and the staff reported they did well! :-)They were also very quick to respond to my questions via email!

We were in town for the day and didnt want to leave our pup alone in the hotel while we were out and about. They were very accommodating and helpful. The cameras we wonderful to be about to see how she was doing and she got lots of love and attention while she was there.

I just couldn’t recommend this place more. They take SUCH good care of my dogs and I know my dogs are not always the easiest to take care of. Numerous times, they have gone way above and beyond to care for my animals. The communication is great and they are very flexible with drop off and pick up. Great place!!

We have been sending our dog Joy to Dog Pawz for a few years now. Longest she has stayed has been 10 days and we have zero complaints. She LOVES IT! Dog Pawz is great. I take my two dogs there for boarding and day care. I always keep an eye on them with the live cameras and they always look like they’re having fun and getting a lot of love. I get anxious when I have to be away from them but know they are in good hands at dog Pawz Westport. One time my little furry guy Rex was on some ear drops for an ear infection and they had no problem administering that while they stayed for a weekend. Definitely check out dog Pawz for your best friend!

My dogs preference for boarding. He doesnt like storms and there is enough going on in the room that he is unaware of outside storms. He enjoys the other dogs and the crate free boarding is a huge benefit. Have always received good care and service.

The staff is very hard working, kind and caring and they know my dog by sight. He’s always so happy to be here! We love boarding him at Dog Pawz and we can view him on the web cam 24/7. The facility is very clean and well maintained. We won’t board our dog anywhere else. Dog Pawz is truly a Kansas City treasure!

Dog Pawz in Westport is the BEST! Our dog Lucy has been going to work at Dog Pawz since she was a pup. The employees always greet her by name when she walks through the door and she is always excited to see them. Lucy knows exactly where the bucket of treats is and always sits in front of them when she arrives. My wife and I sometimes watch her on the camera app and she always looks like she is having fun playing with the other dogs. The employees at Dog Pawz instill confidence that Lucy is being treated well and we are thankful for that. I would recommend this establishment to any dog owner.

My dog has been here many times. I love the fact that it’s cageless boarding since Kira doesn’t kennel at home either! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I love the option of seeing her on the camera app when I’m away! They may be a little pricey IMO, but I think they are worth it.

My dogs go to Dog Pawz (Westport location) once, sometimes twice a week for daycare. They absolutely love it. Their excitement to go in and play with their dog and human friends is the cutest. The staff knows them by name and are always so courteous to us. When we come home, I have tired and happy pups. I also love that I get email reminders on my account and that you can check in through the cameras as well. Give them a try!

Our dog Missy is a special needs girl. She is a rescue. My husband and I adopted her in April of 2017. We had very little background information about Missy going into the adoption other than she suffers from separation anxiety, and is unfamiliar with ‘how to be a dog.’ She is interested in meeting other dogs, but prefers low stimulation. The staff at Dog Pawz has been incredible from day one! They have very been helpful working with Missy and making efforts to introduced to new friends, and they have treated her like their very own.... being careful with her needs and showering her with love and affection. I’m grateful for the care and professionalism that Dog Pawz has provided us and Missy.

I have been taking my dog to daycare here for a few years. Ive tried other places in the past but nothing compares to Dog Pawz. The staff is amazing, so friendly and caring. The staff is always so nice! My senior dog doesn’t really like to play but he sure loves him some lovin’! The staff always remember him and give him plenty of pets! We had to board him for a week and having the camera to check on him was great! I really wish they had an outside area for the pups to enjoy. Josh loves just sitting outside and enjoying the breeze in his face.

If you are looking for place to leave your dog, whether it be for day care or overnight stay, look no further than Dog Pawz. My dog, Lenny, has done both. He loves it there. I know, because every time we even get near the place he gets excited. Theres only two places I trust to care for Lenny over night. One is his vets, and the other is Dog Pawz. When I bring Lenny home, hes pooped. Thats how I know hes had a great day. The other reason I LOVE Dog Pawz, is the 24/7 cameras to peek in on your dog. Every time Ive monitored Lenny he is clearly having a ball. The staff there is amazing. You can tell the employees enjoy what they do, so you know your dog is in good hands.

I take my rottweiler to Dog Pawz often for cageless boarding. The staff is wonderful and he loves it there. The prices are lower than other boarding places yet the care is outstanding. They feed him top of the line food too. I never worry about him while out of town and he always comes home a clean, happy, and tired dog!

Great place! They take great care of my dog. He is a pit bull mix and they love pitties here. Can’t say that about every doggy day care.

Hershey, our AussieCollie mix loves doggy day care at Dog Pawz! He has tons of friends and always comes back tired. They are kind and friendly to the dogs. Super clean place. Weve dropped Hershey off often for over night stay where he can roam as he pleases. We can view him on video, which is so comforting! He also gets a free bath after 3 days.

The staff is amazing. I live in the northland and I drive down to Dog Pawz in Westport because they take such great care of my Toby. Staff is very attentive to his needs. I trust no place else. I love that someone is always there and that he doesnt have to be in a kennel.

As a former employee, I have nothing but respect and admiration for the love they have for the doggies. When they say they are their own, and treat them as such? They mean it, my bad for leaving. Just being 100!

Whether it is boarding or daycare, the staff is great with our dog and attentive to us. Champ always comes home exhausted, and a tired dog is a happy dog! The staff really goes the extra mile and is working with us to make Champ a better behaved dog.UPDATE: the update from Tricia Bushne;; has all the details. In short, the staff is great but the policies and decision to keep a couple of aggressive dogs at the facility have made us look elsewhere. Ill miss Dog Pawz, but I dont feel like my dog is safe there anymore. It really is a shame.

Before finding dog paws, boarding my dog was always a terrible, stressful time for both of us. She always came home anxious and in a sour mood and would throw a tantrum when I was dropping her off. When we get to dog paws she cant get out of the car fast enough and she is always happy and sleepy when she comes home. They have cameras so you can watch your dog playing or check up on them 24/7. Great prices when compared to other boarding facilities in KC.

There is something truly so so special about the people at Dog Pawz. The love they show my very overwhelming border collie puppy is unparalleled. the staff here is truly like part of our family and i couldn’t imagine bringing her elsewhere

Its fine for daycare, but a long boarding I wouldnt recommend. The dogs are basically locked inside and I dont consider a person walking into the room standing there, interaction. They dont have an outside play area, so the only time the dogs see the the light of day is their quick walks.

Great place :) would only be better if they had some outdoor areas for the dogs.

Rosie, our 1 year old golden lab, HATED it. We boarded her there over the 4th and I should have listened to my gut when I dropped her off. It was EXTREMELY loud! Basically a concrete box of a building echoing the barking of 70 dogs. It literally hurt my ears. They basically keep the dogs in what looks like a 12x12 holding cell although I wasnt allowed to see it other than on the puppy cam (7-11 has better quality security cameras) Anyway, our normally well adjusted happy dog apparently had a two day anxiety attack thanks to my lack in judgement. Ill bet the sound approaches 140db. No joke. Front row of a concert loud. That cant be good for dogs and certainly wasnt for ours. We wont be back and dont recommend.

I love this place. So do my dogs. It is a cageless dog kennel. They have daycare too. Sometimes you need to take the dogs there during the day to get projects done, like vacuuming. Lol

I take my pup here for daycare a couple times a week. Staff is very friendly and always excited to see my dog. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for somewhere to let their dog burn off some energy during the day.

We boarded our dog for 2 nights and she came back covered in dry dog pee! She is a white dog and she came back with all these gross yellow patches on her and smelled terrible. we had to give her a bath right away when we got home. In addition to being absolutely filthy when we got her back she was completely exhausted like she hadnt slept at all.I will say that the live feed they provide is really nice. We liked being able to check in on her. However, I would not leave my dog here overnight again.

Our dog loves coming to Dog Pawz. All the staff greet him by name, and know which room (rooms sorted roughly by dog size and personality) he enjoys the most. He always comes home tired after his day at Dog Pawz.

Always seems clean and organized. Recently got rid of the rewards program unfortunately. My dog always comes back tired which is a good thing. Pricing seems on par with other places.

We have three dogs -- two seniors and one just leaving his puppy days behind. All three dogs have been to dog pawz and because they are different, they get different experiences. Thats how it should be and how you know youre at a great place. Our littlest dog isnt really into other dogs, so she and others like her stay up front with staff checking pups in. Our pup wants to play -- hard -- so hes out with the big dogs. And the old man, well, he thinks he wants to play, but its hard on his joints, so medium dogs for him it is. Nowadays, our seniors are too old to want to go, but youve never seen a dog more excited than Champ when he knows hes on his way in. The staff knows and cares about our pups and all their quirks. Our pups love it here, and we cannot thank them enough for that.UPDATE: We ultimately had to part from Dog Pawz. In October our dog, Champ was attacked while at DogPawz. According to staff, he went to play with another dog, that dog gave him a back off teeth bare, Champ backed off, and another dog came lunging at him across the room and tore into his neck. The staff called us, we picked him up, and because he has such a high pain tolerance he seemed fine, but in the end, his neck had been completely torn open and he needed surgery to have stitches in all the way across his neck. He looked like Frankensteins monster, and had to have a drain attached for two weeks.After it happened, we contacted Dog Pawz for the owners information. The contract says you are responsible for medical bills caused by your dog and that your information as owner may be given to the other owner for that reason. Dog Pawz would not give us that info. They would not tell us what kind of dog it was, but agreed to facilitate payment of the medical bills. We got a check in the mail directly from Dog Pawz. During and after that, I kept asking staff if they could just tell me what kind of dog it was so I could watch for reactivity in Champ on walks. We had sent Champ away to a training camp several months back and we didnt want all that work to be undone because we didnt know what he might be afraid of. They would not tell us. We asked if the dog who had attacked had been removed. They said no, but that Champ and that dog would never be in the same play room in the future.I was super hesitant about sending him back. There had also been staff turn over at the front, but the folks in the back still knew and love Champ. In the end, I took him back the day we had to put our other dog to sleep because I didnt want the stress of it all in the same day. He seemed fine when he got back and we were leaving town for Christmas and literally everywhere else I called had no availability, so I opted to board him there (I justified it with the fact that he knew the place and the staff knows him), and he again seemed fine when I picked him up and so I figured all was fine, it was just a one off accident.Unfortunately, we recently took him for daycare and when we picked him up, we learned he had been bullied and had been rotated in and out of a crate all day. Apparently, some large dogs were bullying other dogs. But rather than remove those dogs, the bullied dogs, including Champ, were put in crates and rotated in and out. The other aggressive dogs were allowed to stay. When we asked the staff if one of the dogs was the same one that attacked Champ, the worker nodded and said they had been instructed not to tell us about the dog. While Dog Pawz had said they didnt need to tell us what kind of dog it was because Champ wouldnt be in a room with it, that was a lie. That is dangerous.We wouldnt even have known this was happening if not for some of the incredible staff at Dog Pawz. And we will miss them. But the fact that Champ hasnt been hurt again is pure luck. They know there is at least one dangerous dog; a dog strong enough to rip Champs neck apart, and its allowed to stay there and stay out. That is not safe.

My wife took her dogs here and just about walked out the door the moment she came in. It was loud and smelled (this coming from folks who work a farm) its all concrete and since they were putting the beds on the walls all the time the dogs didnt have anywhere to lay. I NEVER saw them check on the small dog pen. I saw a dog on the camera attack on of our guys and since nobody was there to witness it nobody could tell my why my dog came out limping. I watched one of their employees pin this big black and white dog against the wall and smacked it several times. I dont know whose dog that was but it definitely gave me a reason to not come back. I take my sweeties to a new place in overland park called 4Paws Sports Club and Lodge, no concrete and the staff is very caring. Also, better bang for your buck.

I love taking Albus to Dog Pawz! The staff are very welcoming and clearly know what they are doing. Albus feels like a part of the pack. Getting to check in and watch him online is a great bonus as well. Plus Albus always comes home tired and happy. 10/10 would recommend.

Horrible manager! She is rude and inexperienced. Ill be happy to pay more elsewhere. She would sit in the office area and yell at staff in front of customers. No class nor experience at all.

I will only use this as a last resort. After my dog falling off a table and gashing his head, I decided to give them a try again after almost a year. This last time I got him home after a day at dog pawz only to find his claws completely worn down to the quick and bleeding. The only thing I can think of is he was pulling during a walk. I just dont think I can trust this place. I really wish I could.

Dan the owner is a liar and dog abuser. He doesnt care about the workers or the animals. Only the overpriced amount he charges the parents. Watch the cameras. They dont lie. Everything he advertises is A LIE. you pay to have you dog abused. Neglected and sprayed with water. He withholds tips given to workers and keeps Animals housed in areas by law he cant. And if you dont believe me Im a worker who QUIT because I couldnt watch anymore and the other workers who still work there call me daily to say what else is going on.

Its pretty busy, which is good for dog socialization, though the dogs are kept in cement rooms except for when they are taken out for walks or to go to the bathroom. I prefer day cares that allow dogs to run around outside of leash, like a dog park, in addition to being able to run around or relax inside

We dropped our dog off on a Thursday and than picked him up on a Tuesday and since we have picked him up hes been acting really strange.. Harley is not a beggar nor is he very vocal and when we were eating dinner he started so they were giving him people food after I had asked them not to! He has slept all day like he hasnt slept at all nor will he eat his own food!! He will not be taken back! Not to mention they were going to charge us 5 dollars a day for his medication!

They got us in that day. But my dog stunk. He didn’t get played with and he was in a concrete room. I was scared to leave him.

Okay so I’m not from the area and I have never broaded my dogs here and quite frankly I would NEVER even consider it! I walked in here on accident cause I thought it was a different store.I have worked at quite a few boarding faculties across the state due to my husband being military. I have experienced many styles and set ups of boarding facility’s, day cares and vets offices. HOWEVER I WALKED IN AND THIS FACILITY REAKED HORRIBLY OF FECES AND URINE!!!! IF IT SMELLS THIS WAY YOUR BELOVED PETS ARE PROBABLY LIVING IN IT!!! Practically blasted you in the face when you walked in! The dogs on the camera were sleeping on concrete with not a blanket or even a kraunda bed. Then I saw the worst part CAGELESS DOG BOARDING!! To anyone considering this is possibly the worst thing to do to your dog. Way to many possibilities of disaster. I’m assuming all dogs drink out of the same water bucket most of the day. If you want you dog to stay in horrible conditions and have a 50% chance to get sick, board your dogs in this type of facility.****REPLY TO THE MANAGER ****Since Google will not allow me to respond to your reply I am adding this to my original comment. I do understand you are trying to defend your facility. However, the smell of the facility was unjustifiable. If your staff is truly cleaning the way you feel confident in them, I would retain them. I can tell the difference between new and old urine, and the entire room filled with the stench of old urine. Also readdressing the cageless boarding from a veterinary medicine standpoint this is a high risk for transmitting diseases (especially if the kennel is not being cleaned properly) and personally not recommend to anyone and couldnt imagine any of the Vets I have worked with doing the same.
