I have nothing but good things to say about theMetabolic Weight Management Program that I was so fortunate to participate in. All the staff I worked with were so helpful and pleasant to work with. If I had any questions, they responded in a timely manner. I felt they really cared about me and the progress I made. They were so encouraging to work with. I met with Tori, the dietitian, twice a month and really was provided with such useful and helpful tips to lose weight. She provided me with excellent emails that were very helpful. Through her efforts, I had great success with this program. A special thanks to Andrea and Tori for all their support and help.

Had to wait over a month to find out what my biopsy results were. Making that appointment took me 6 phone call tries to set up before scheduling got back to me. Then was charged over $130 for a phone call that lasted 6minutes. I never felt heard and sure did not get my issue taken care of but boy could they take my money. Spent almost 3k for them to prescribe me a sleep aid that does nothing and then booked my next follow up for 6months out. Transferring and I DO NOT RECOMMEND

Granted, all patients view their matters as most important, which needs addressed immediately with expediency. Though, it shouldnt take making an 8-minute explanation multiple times to multiple people, who could have gathered the essential information and make the determination which partner in the practice will best entertain the outcome. The business manager or person(s) who specify the office procedures of each branch location should create a process-oriented flowchart so staff employees can identify and address incoming callers needs most efficiently and directly. It shouldnt take 20 minutes or more of being on-hold, transferred, and on-hold, or leave a voicemail and the person will get back with you.Nor should, after consecutive non-ending trails manifest meaningless results, that the last person to speak with you at the end of the day, is as crusty as dried mud in a cow pasture. Would you speak to your boss in that way? No. Then why do employees feel so gifted that they can disregard their offices patients concerns of medical matters? Is this poetry? No.. far from it. When you come with a problem, come with a solution. Will every employee make their constituents feel as though they just came from the spa while getting a full body message? No, but what they should do is be able to cognitively identify who is best able to address the patients concern, and then pre-communicate the patients desire to the recipient by virtue of some variety of messaging app.Once a next step is conceived, then the staff member can let the patient know how they will best help them with their matter or concern. Simple. A little empathy will also go a long way. Tone and inflection will also further a value-add in the communication map and make customer retention more commonplace. One person with an unpleasant experience has the potential to communicate the experience with ten other people, whether someone they know, or someone they happen to meet in the grocery store or other place of business.Key word, place of business. Usually when someone shares information about a terrible experience at a place of business, especially when standing in a checkout line or when people are gathered, other people either accidentally or intentionally overhear the story. Sometimes the other people listening may ask for more information or how the referenced place of business addressed or corrected the miscommunication to their customer/patient.Each employee as per employment agreement should read and understand the Rules of Conduct via the Company Code of Conduct. While some organizations may be too small to have such documents, it is imperative there be either verbal or written (small form) communication outlining the methodology of the who, what, where, when, why, and how of how customers/patients are to be treated and what to do in matters that require escalation to managers or higher, upper-level management.Im not writing a process management SOP, though want to convey that when its the end of the day, youre hot, tired, dont feel well, or just dont give a shyt, then, its not the time to speak to your customers as though they dont care or have meaning to your business. Could it be that your customers feel the same as you? Ever heard of No Fault insurance? When synthesized with bad communication, bad communicators are NOT protected. Meaning? Regardless of if the office staff or the customer/patient poorly communicates during the encounter, the office staff/business still suffers the negative consequences.Time to learn and make excellent customer communications the standard is before the accidental miscommunication, which leads to negative customer retention or worse, loss of new business.

Either you call and wait on hold to leave a message to have someone call you back to schedule, but if you miss the call and need to call back its the same problem.God forbid I try to make an appointment that the G.I. My first contact with KCGI was late 2019 with a referral from my primary care physician for itching, weight loss, and abnormal lab results. The only person with an open appointment was Janay and I was wanting immediate relief and took the appointment. So glad I did, She was very professional with her exam and approach to my condition. She listened and asked questions as well as looked over the information I brought with me. After scheduling for a bank of further testing and several procedures with Dr. Freilich they we able to give me a diagnosis and a treatment regimen. There we some hiccups during my appointments with some of the staff however when I look back on them I believe many of the problems were created by me believing my problems were the only ones they had to deal with each day. The staff I had the most problems with are no longer working there. I would recommend KCGI to anyone needing help.In addition to KCGI I am also involved in the weight loss program since Jan 2021. With exceptional professionalism, sound advise, strong encouragement the staff of the weight loss program has helped me to loose 40 lbs. at this time with more to go. I would like to give special thanks to Andrea, Racheal, and Tori for the knowledge and encouragement they have given me through out this adventure. Thank you very much.. We have a long way to go. I would strongly and highly recommend the weight loss program of KCGI to any one wishing to loss weight to improve their health.

This place is so horrible it has forced me to leave my first review, I am very nervous leaving this review before I am done with KCGI, but this is by far the worst experience I have had with any medical facility. I wish I could say this was a one off experience, but unfortunately I have had to deal with them for over a year now, and its an every time experience. I do not know how they have any reviews that are not 1 star. Its so bad, I would assume those are fake or paid reviews. let me go into some of my experiences with KCGI. They will not answer the phone, they will not call you back, they do not respect patients time. They will forget to send orders to get tests run or they will send the wrong order or even to the wrong place. I have literally had all 3 happen. They will make you wait forever when you visit and then rush you out the door without answering all of your questions. Also, I have had to have the same test run multiple times due to lack of communication at KCGI. I literally called the minute their phones were on I am currently on hold for 30 minutes and no answer. Finally after 30 minutes I was forwarded to a voicemail and I do not expect a return phone call. As someone new to KC this place scares me that the healthcare in all of KC is this bad. Can someone please recommend me a GI doctor that is not associated with KCGI. I feel like I am being scammed and it is not a good feeling. If you value your life stay as far away from this place as possible. I cannot stress enough how horrible this place has been to deal with. Please do not make the same mistakes I did. It will be very expensive and very frustrating. Please learn from my mistakes and do not do this to yourself.

I was referred here by my PCP and never actually got an appointment. First, they said they didnt receive the fax (send twice by my PCP), then said they had a new fax number so my PCP send a 3rd time. My PCPs nurse called and waited on hold for 20 minutes and finally spoke to someone (Mary Ann) who said she would call me by the end of the business day which was 2 days ago. This whole process has been almost 2 weeks since the initial referral and I was told by KCGI it would take 72 hours to get the referral and contact me. I called 3 different times and was on hold for no less than 20 minutes every time. When I finally got through they told me as soon as Mary Ann got off of the phone call she was on, she would call me back. Never received a call. My PCP sent another referral to Summit GI and I received a call the SAME day and have an appt for 2 days from now. Waste of 2 weeks. I would go somewhere else - especially after reading the rest of the negative reviews.

Janay Kissinger NP lacks basic bedside manners, communication skills, and medical knowledge. She did not even perform a simple physical exam. After spending no more than 6 minutes with me, she said she’d use the Michael Jackson drug on me. She lacks basic empathy, feels the need to roll her eyes and sigh when I said “I have a question”. Some would think she’s a politician given the way she avoids simple medical questions and gives unrelated answers.I’m glad I walked out and canceled any follow ups; I will never return here and would recommend any potential patients to find another GI clinic - you do not deserve this kind of treatment especially since you’re paying money to be seen.

Thankful that I was able to get in somewhere with BOTH better care, AND customer service after my awful experience here. Pam, the receptionist was very rude and discouraging—however, after asking for her name on the phone so she may be identified, she became much more helpful... I have EOE and have been unable to swallow food for over a month—I lost 15 pounds (originally only weighing 90) and called multiple times to speak with nursing staff regarding these serious health issues only to NEVER HEAR BACK. I am so thankful to have other physicians caring for me and working to get me into a better gastro to help solve my health problems. Bottom line: if you want good, professional care, look elsewhere.

I would have to agree on the lack of care from the reception/scheduler ladies. Ive left messages to get in to see the doctor and the only person who has called had been from Dr. Patels office on the KS side. Per my insurance, I need to be scheduled for the procedure at Research but communication is horrible at the front desk at this location. I left a messaged after consulting with the gal in Patels office and no one called me back. I called the office a little later and actually got ahold of someone in scheduling who did not give her name, even after I had tried to confirm if she was one of the two names mentioned by the gal in Patels office. She just laughed and said no. Instead of just scheduling me with the doctor I had been needing to be scheduled with, she just transferred me to Janet (the previous gal gave me dates and times and told me to speak with Janet or Sierra, but anyone could get you scheduled) and went to Janets voicemail that said she was on the other line and to leave a message. Upon no communication, I called at 4:23pm and the phones had been SHUT OFF for the day and said I had called afterhours and said they are in the office m-th, 830-430. I have worked in medical offices before and it just blows my mind that this is the kind of standards this office holds if it plans to keep any patients. I will update this review if I ever get in to see the doctor.

Front desk lady was really unpleasant. I am not sure how the doctors are, since the scheduler wouldnt allow me to see the providers. We have great insurance, which doesnt require a referral to a specialist. My doctor also put in a referral, which I can see in the portal, last week. However, the front desk lady is especially curt and rude and refuses to make me an appointment without a full medical file, even though their next free appointments are over a month away. I have never had this experience, but wouldnt trust them with my care after being treated so poorly just trying to be seen.

While the staff and Nurse Practitioner seemed nice enough, I came to my first appointment with heartburn issues and they immediately ordered a scope....which I ended up not needing so Im out my entire insurance deductible for no reason. They need to do more research before ordering expensive procedures where they put people under. The doctor who was over the Nurse Practitioner was also a jerk. The nurse line was also very rude when I told them my medication wasnt reacting well (they asked if I was positive that it was this medication; I wasnt taking anything else new at all), but supposedly they switched to a new nurse line. Janay Kissinger is knowledgeable and quick to determine what is needed, providing information about treatment protocols, things to look for and how to deal with problems.
