I found Dr Huston to be very personable, professional and frank about my condition and the ladies running checkin/checkout to be fantastic! 5 stars. However I need to subtract 2 stars for Sharon, the nurse who ushered me back to the room - attempted to take my blood pressure over my elbow and when I asked her to take it again on my upper arm gave me a bit of attitude - and still didn’t have the cuff placed properly. Needless to say I’m happy I won’t need to revisit this office for OA issues.

I saw Dr Hustons father Kent for years. Now I see him. If it were not for these doctors I would not be here to write this review. With my rare disease I am lucky to be here. They have been nothing but compassionate and caring. Shout out to my Nurse Kyleen and Nurse practitioner Patty Lee. You all are great.

Getting a Diagnosis Before Getting TestedI would give zero stars if I could. I worked as Laboratory Technician for 4 years and PA for over a little 9 years and I worked with so many Internist. I work with a major top 3 hospitals right now. I know how a patient should be diagnosis.Well, I decided to visit this doctor after weeks of complaining about abnormal symptoms, like swollen hand, knees, ankles and lower back pain. He listened patiently as I rattled off my ever-growing list of medical concerns. And he diagnosed me with rheumatoid arthritis and Crest but NEVER suggested or even mentioned getting another Blood test, or an MRI or a nerve conduction test. He simply looked at my referral & assumed he could tell by looking at me what I had.Blood tests needs to be done to check for antibodies-Proteins the immune system makes when it is mounting an attack. But blood test results SHOULDN’T be the sole basis for a diagnosis, because they can be negative in people who do have arthritis, and positive when no disease is present. For example antinuclear antibodies, (ANA) which indicate the body is launching an immune attack on itself, can show up for number of reason. “I’d say that I see patients on a weekly basis who come to see me the Doctor that I work with and say “ I have Lupus because they tested positive for ANA.” (ANAs) may also be a sign of chronic infections like sinusitis. Most healthy people also carry POSITIVE ANAs this is why RHEUMATIC DISEASES that are well known for being TRICKY to detect. Two different Doctors & two surgeries later under the care of UCSF I’m pain free. Its taken me awhile to write this because I dont look forward to giving negative reviews.HE IS INCOMPETENT!

Absolutely the worst response from a doctors office. I should have paid closer attention to the other reviews about their overall lack of response to their patients. I will be on the search for another doctor.

Now I have NEVER had a doctor show blatant negligence of my condition, not properly explain what is wrong and rushed me into a life long medication without any test.In addition to seeking out a 2nd opinion because I dont trust this guy, I also feel compelled to write a review about him. STAY AWAY FROM HIM!!!

Been with Dr. Huston for almost 10 years now. Sometimes play phone tag with front office. Dr. Huston is patient, listens to all my concerns and takes time to discuss treatment options.

Dr. Huston is a good doctor but if you need to contact his office for lab results or test results all you ever get is voicemails. I hate it when you cannot talk to someone. Even if you are returning a message , when you call back you get their voicemails. You play phone tag with their staff. Also if you give them your home number and cell number, they just leave message on your home phone to call them instead of trying you on your cell phone. By the time you get message on home phone their office is closed.

Today was my first visit with Dr. Kent Huston. It was honestly the best doctor’s visit and experience that I’ve ever had. Keylyn in the front office checked me in and was so kind and inviting, even though I was a few minutes late. After filling out my paperwork I was promptly escorted back to a room by Christina, RN, who was so sweet, efficient and welcoming. Next I had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Huston. I simply cannot say enough good things about him. I appreciated his kind, calm and patient bedside manner. He was so thorough and I could tell that he truly cared about my overall well-being. From start to finish, I had absolutely no doubt that I had chosen the right physician and was in the best hands. After that, I saw Ryan, the radiology tech for x-rays. My wait was nil and Ryan was so friendly. Again, this visit was the best experience. Although all were efficient and knowledgeable, they treated me like a friend. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Huston and his staff and will look forward to my next visit at his office.
