Ive had a wonderful experience as a new patient with Femi. She provides a safe and comfortable space for me to be honest about my feelings and personal history. I intend to continue working with her into the future on my mental health and well-being.

You can not call and get a simple question answered. She charges $60 for her cancelation fees. Which is not obvious on her website. I called her 30min before my appt. she text me 20mins later leaving me 10mins to get there if I didnt want to lose my money. The process of getting my appt. was annoying because I had to give financial information before I could even make an appt. Couldnt speak with anyone to gauge if we wete even a good fit for one another... Tbis was the first red flag.

I set and confirmed appointment for today. Was at her office 20 minutes beforehand to fill out paperwork as requested. Office door was locked, she never showed up and her voicemail was full. Took a lot of courage to set up an appointment and this is what she did.

I made my appointment with Olufemi before I saw all the reviews here. I was quite wary but had booked the appointment within less than 48 hours, so I knew I needed to attend or Id be charged. I was hoping that the bad reviews were just exaggerations or something. Unfortunately, I have to believe at this point that the one-stars are legitimate and any positive review is likely purchased/fake. I am considering making a report to the licensing board after my experience. She had me call her on FaceTime for our virtual session, which is a red flag right off the bat. There are tons and tons of HIPAA-compliant programs that any legitimate therapist would be using at this point in a pandemic. Secondly, her phone was positioned in such a way that all I could see were her eyes/forehead. I asked her to adjust the camera so that I could see her face and she then spent the entirety of the session with her video either paused or the phone falling over constantly. Again, over a year into a pandemic...no idea where to put your phone so that you can see your clients and vice versa? I also realized at certain points, she paused the video so she could eat. I could hear her with food in her mouth the few times she responded to me at all. That brings me to a larger issue. It is clear as day to me - this individual makes a living by letting vulnernable people just talk and talk until they are in an emotional tizzy and then she gives the most basic possible advice she can, when forced to. Read a book, she told me. Or Google some blogs. I tried to express some challenges with my partner and her response was Yeah, I dont know...maybe you need couples counseling. There were many moments when I paused to allow her to be a cousenlor and provide some counseling, and she just sat in silence with absolutely nothing to say. I have been to therapists before. I know what it is to hold silence for someone to process or work through something. That is not what this was. She truly had nothing to say. Halfway through our session, when I was just actively sobbing, she interrupted me to say that I left a digit off my insurance paperwork and she needed to see the card again. Glad to know she was trying to do this paperwork while I was trying to bear my soul.I hate to say it, but this is just insurance fraud. Please dont allow her to continue doing this. It is so so so harmful.

Very unprofessional. Door was locked, Eating candy during my session. Made me feel terrible about my situation... Just didn’t seem liked she cared, definitely in it for the money. Ended my session early and we already started late?? I didn’t get any real methods or guidance. Don’t recommend.

I’d you are looking for DBT, contrary to her website, she does not do DBT therapy.Appointment started late. She made a note that session would end 10 past the hour but ended at :55.Rarely made eye contact in session and it felt like she would rather be anywhere but there.

I WAS A DOUBTER! I had gone to several counselors before and never felt any benefit. But there came a time where I needed to talk to someone and I was blessed to have found Dr. Olufemi. I was beyond reluctant to go my first session but I havent looked back since. The healing experience begins at the door. The arrangement of Dr. Sharps office is designed to have a soothing effect. She always greets you with a smile and you can tell she genuinely cares for each and every client. For the first time, I am seeing a real benefit in therapy and I recommend Dr. Olufemi to anyone seeking REAL advice and help.

Olufemi Sharp is a kind, compassionate and caring person and this comes through in her interactions with you. She listens intently and restates things you tell her in a clear and concise way, so you know she understands what you are saying and feeling. In just a short time working with her, I already feel as though I have someone in my corner and someone that is there to help me sort out all the things I am dealing with. She offers advice and tools for you to do your own self-help by referencing things to look at online, YouTube and the like. I look forward to talking to her and I wish the sessions were more than an hour. The time goes by too fast! I will continue to work with Olufemi and look forward to my next visit.

Dr. Sharp has been a great therapist. I have seen her for both couples counseling and personal counseling. For couples counseling, she has helped us communicate more effectively and establish healthy boundaries. For personal counseling, as a POC it was important to me to have a BIPOC therapist. I have appreciated the difference this makes in my therapy. Dr. Sharp has been very effective in helping me manage my emotions, manage depression, practice mindfulness, and improve my overall mental health.

Femi Sharp is a great couples counselor. She’s helped me and my partner overcome a few major hurdles allowing us to reconnect and build effective tools to communicate. We are able to be more loving and emotionally vulnerable with one another. We practice Mindfulness as a way of life in being present, polite and actively listening to each other’s needs, wants and desires. Olufemi has been a lighthouse for us. I strongly recommend her services!!!

I’ve been through around 30 therapists in my life through all my years of treatments and programs. I have found Femi to be one of the best I have worked with. She respects privacy, is focused and engaged in my sessions, and is able to validate me while teaching me new coping skills. She is extremely kind and very flexible. Never once have I felt judged by her, and she has never been rude with me, even when I brought my fussy daughter into a session cause I couldn’t find a babysitter. She works hard to create a therapeutic space that is soothing, calm, and positive. Plus, she has taught me some very effective skills with learning how to let go of resentment and anger that have helped me a lot. I am truly impressed with her and she is a phenomenal therapist.

I have been working with Olufemi for a couple of years, and I find her very encouraging, empathetic, and understanding. Shes worked with me when I needed flexibility in scheduling and in payment. Shes made discount fees available, so I wouldnt have to halt our sessions and impede progress. The impact Olufemi has had is most apparent when Im not in her office--when Im out in the world, treating others and myself with more grace and mindfulness.

I have been seeing Olufemi Sharp for a couple of months now and it has been a very positive experience. What I like most is she assigns homework at the end of each session. In past experiences with counselors I felt like we did successfully work through issues, but only while in session. During the last few minutes of the session, Olufemi gives me actionable steps to continue the progress we have made during the 45 minute session. At the start of the next session we go over the homework at talk about my progress, or the lack thereof. I think if you are ready to share you issues openly and take input back from Olufemi, she can help you work through what is troubling you. Again, very pleased with the work we have done together so far.

Ive been seeing Olufemi since Oct of last year. I love everything she has to say. She gives such great advice and listen to your problems. She is very real and will not give you an answer to baby you, or sugar coat things; although you may be going through a tough time. She will listen and guide you to the correct path. Her way of teaching is very relaxing and mindfulness which helps me a lot in the real world. Talking to her takes a heavy load off my shoulders. Book with her!!!! I was late once and she did not charge me, she made me aware that I needed to be on time or I will be charged for a no show. She also works with my work schedule. She will work with you as long as you work with her.

She just wants your money. She will hook into your account and charge ridiculous fees. She wont even let you finish your thought before interrupting and telling you your time is up.She wont remember anything you tell her from the previous appointment. She will hang up on you when youre trying to explain that you thought it was a 24 hour cancellation, not 48 hours and then shell have taken the damn fee for cancelling before you even get off the phone. She also hung up on me because I wasnt processing the disbelief fast enough for her. My therapist HUNG UP ON ME after saying she hopes I decide to reschedule.

Olufemi Sharp was one of several that was referred to me by my insurance company, EAP. I decided to go with Olufemi because I felt like she and I had similar views and she specialized in depression and anxiety (after looking at her website). I booked the appointment with her and on her website you must put in your credit card information to reserve a day. It made sense in case someone didnt show up and her time was wasted. Olufemi NEVER asked about which insurance I used after taking my credit card information. I use EAP, which for me is 8 free sessions with her. On the day of my appointment, I searched her address in Google maps and up pops an address. I am assuming she used to be in a totally different office because, lucky me got directions to an office that wasnt hers. After several min searching and confused, I tried calling Ms. Sharp and explaining to her what had happened. No answer. So I emailed her. No answer. At this point Im almost about to say oh well, Ill just have to reschedule. I ended up making it 20 min later. When I showed up she explained to me that she charged my credit card for a no show of $180 (I believe). What? Im using her through EAP! I am supposed to have 8 free sessions. After I explained this to her, she then refunded me half of the amount she charged. I had booked the appointment for an hour, so 20 min late should not have been charged as a no show! The remaining of that hour should count as a session. We talked a little about what I have in mind for the sessions and I made a second appointment. Heres where I get really upset. My next session was scheduled the next week. Through out the session she seemed bored and not interested in anything I had to say. She asked me three times if I wanted to end the session early. After the third time, I cried and agreed. She said not to make an appointment unless I had something to say. I DO NOT recommend Olufemi as a counselor. This was my first experience with a counselor and I feel it may be awhile before I gain the courage to go to another.

I strongly recommend people of color (African American women)visit Ms. Femi. People of color dont typically use counseling services and we owe ourselves an opportunity to seek mental and emotional healing where traditional churching and unhealthy self medicating lack. I refer people to her all the time! Try it out at least once. I sure did it for myself, my future and my family.
