My mother moved in at the end of July 2021. She moved to the 3rd floor which means after they assessed her, they felt like she would do okay on her own. There is a nurse on that floor if she needs help. However, after having been there for 2 months they moved her to the 2nd floor WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME. She went to the hospital for breathing problems and was supposed to isolate. The first time she had to go to the hospital she was allowed to isolate in her room. I have no idea why she is not allowed to return to her room. I cant imagine that shes gone downhill so muchin 2 months that she needed to be moved. And even if she did why wouldnt they alert family? Ive tried to call but dont get anyone to return my calls. Im not on Kansas so I cant just go there. Meanwhile, all of her belongings are in her room and she is not allowed to go there. Im currently looking for another place for her but I can say that I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they just dont care about thier family members. It shouldnt be that hard to get information or get notified about your family member whom you have entrusted to the care of a facility. Attached is a photo of my call log to show how many times Ive tried to call.Also, a lady named Jessica supposedly applied for her Kansas Medicaid and said she was accepted. Now my mother is saying she owes over $2000. She only gets Social Security and doesnt have that kind of money. Why would they say that her Medicaid would take care of it but they arent accepting it or taking it? Im so over it. I dont have time to deal with this! Keep looking if youre considering this place. Save yourself the headache.

Staple of the community that keeps getting better. I know 2020 was a hard year on all nursing homes but the staff at riverbend post acute continue to show perseverance and refuse to give up on their residents. Heroes walk the halls everyday. Its a pleasure to visit as my work occasionally allows me to spend time in this facility and witness the passion from the nursing staff. They have recently started several new therapy programs that have me excited to see where they are headed. Big things on the horizon for this great community.

Staff have an amazing passion for the elderly in this facility. The love, commitment and hard work was evident during the covid crisis and beyond. The residents are LOVED and cherished.Activities department is always on their A game and fill the facility with LIFE and energy. I have loved every minute of my time in this facility!

Riverbend has been a top provider of care in the Kansas City area. They have done such a great job caring for SO many people. They have a great staff which is a direct reflection of their leadership team!

I currently am employed at Riverbend. I love going to work everyday!! I am amazed every single day when I walk through that door. The staff are friendly, compassionate and caring. It honestly feels at home. The RESIDENTS ARE AMAZING!!! To see them smile everyday and call you by name when walking by is an awesome feeling! The Activities team is always coming up with awesome and creative ideas for the residents and they love it!!! Those residents just love their daily Chronicles and Perks :) Just today they had the St. Patrick’s Day carts going around door to door with fun games and snacks and refreshments for the residents and the residents were so happy!! The Therapy team is AMAZING!!!! These residents look forward to working with them and keep getting stronger and stronger. The Nurses, CMAs and CNAs take great care of these residents firsthand!!!! The Housekeeping crew do an awesome job keeping the facility clean. The Maintenance crew, Dietary, the Social Workers, Marketing/Admissions, Business Office, HR, Sherri at the front desk, Administration!!! All amazing!!! I am so proud to be apart of such an amazing team and enjoy getting to spend time with your loved ones that we get to take care of everyday!!!!!

The building may be old, but has lots of character and the residents, staff, volunteers, families and friends make up for it in heart! Care is their top priority, not a fancy new building like other facilities. Under the new management, there has been a complete 180 degree turnaround. Those on the leadership team come with a great deal of experience, knowledge, education and passion for what they are doing. I would highly recommend coming to take a tour, and you wont be disappointed, as I was pleasantly surprised! The Admissions team will give you a warm welcome and will have you feeling like part of the family in no time! And the food is remarkable! I have been to other facilities in the area, and residents at other facilities have raved about how amazing the food is at Riverbend and how other facilities cant compete! And the therapy team is like no other! Several families just marvel at how fast their loved ones are progressing and improving just days after the hospital. I would highly recommend checking out Riverbend for your loved one!

Would highly recommend for a loved one! Staff is very accommodating and make you feel at home. Loved the therapy and nursing teams! Administrator is always available for any questions or concerns. Great and much needed addition to KCK!

This place is something special! I would definitely recommend Riverbend to anyone looking for a new home for their loved ones. The staff is warm, attentive and always makes you feel like youre in good hands!

When this place was Presbyterian Manor the residents were treared like humans. Now my mother in law cant get her showers. The hall leading to her room smells like urine. She can not transfer from her wheelchair to the toilet without assistance. She pushes the button and waits. And waits. And waits. Until it is too late and she has messed herself. Then she might still sit there in a mess until she is blessed with help. The help spends too much time on their cell phones or out on break smoking or just out on break. It is humiliating and down right disgusting the way they treat the residents.

This is a sad place! No human should have to live in such filthy conditions! I dont understand how its even allowed to operate..

Nursing and management is a JOKE!! If u need care for a loved one with dementia or Alzheimers this is NOT the place for them. Any aggressive behavior shown they wont them out even if u have a PRN ordered to be given. They wont give it and want the person taken to hospital. Also, the nurse is not always on the floor due to short staffed so the nurse works 2 areas even with the patients that need watched closer such as my dad. Bad bad situation! Dont go there if u care about your loved ones!!
