My mother has been a resident in the independent living building for two years. We moved her from out of state following the death of my father to be closer to our family. The staff has been so caring and supportive throughout the move and subsequent pandemic. She has met wonderful residents who share her interests and keep her active. The community has allowed her to age gracefully and safe rather than just “get old.”I thoroughly educated myself about senior living options in the area. My father had a horrible experience in a rural out of state facility until we were able to medically move him to a larger city care home. McCrite was highly recommended to me and I fully support that recommendation after my experience with them. It is never easy to transition, but the staff and residents made it much easier.

5 stars for Ms. Nicole! Nicole was extremely resourceful and very informative. Her phone mannerisms had impressed me so much I wanted to give her a compliment. Come to find out, NICOLE IS NEW!! I’m looking forward to building a relationship with McCrite at Briarcliff Plaza!

Moved my mom in and they were very helpful.

I work in a different facility but have had many interactions with the staff at McCrite. They are so kind and their residents love it there. It is nice to work with a facility that cares so much for their residents and has their best interest at heart.

I work with a number of senior living facilities and I can say that McCrite does an excellent job in the care they provide. They are keeping residents safe through their protocols and they do a great job communicating with families. I have friends and former clients who have family members residing at McCrite and theyve been very happy.

Staff is great and skilled and facility is clean and well taken care.

Its a prison for senior people just like any other home care places. They are still hiding my friend. They took his phone and now I dont even know whats going on with him. Dont take your parents or relatives to any places like this. They wont last there long. Take care of them yourself like they took care of you when you were young.Owner stop hiding my friend. We put my mom in for rehab. Everyone there is ok except for the nurses and higher up. They wouldn’t give her the medication she takes every day. She was ignored by the nurses. They put her life in danger I would like to give them zero stars but I will let our attorney take care of them with the lawsuit we are filing for negligence.

Our family couldn’t be happier with McCrite Plaza at Briarcliff. They facility is amazing and very clean. Food is fantastic. But most importantly the staff are so kind, so loving, and treat you like family!

The food was really good, big plus that they have a “non red meat” option for someone like me who enjoys a turkey Reuben. Very classy with lots of attention to detail. The staff was very pleasant.

At first I was alittle upset. But after seeing how much the staff and management handled this recent epidemic. Im am very impressed to see how much they care about their residents and staff.I want to thank you guys for doing a good job.

I’ve worked at Mccrite for about 6months and I can honestly say this is one of the most up-kept and nicest facilities I’ve been at. They are very attentive to the patients, families and any issues or concerns , these people truly care about our community. Not only for our patients but us as employees and that’s something you don’t come across often . If I had to place any of my family in a retirement community McCrite would be 1st on my list. My grandma stayed there first rehab but her health declined rapidly so we had the house she and my grandfather lived in for 60 plus years to do private pay so that she could stay in the most comfortable setting we could give her as it was no longer safe for her in our home due to her health. The nurses were amazing and I never felt I was leaving her in bad hands. She passed away on January 3rd in the evening and my mother and myself were able to be with her along with the hospice nurse. We got her room cleared out within 3 days after losing her. Planned a funeral and Kansas City hospice was amazing. Unfortunately afterwards Mcrite has failed to file the insurance claims or if they have get them resolved let alone clue our family in as to why we are now at 5 months past her passing and why they are holding onto almost 8 grand that was paid to them in January with only three days of that month spent. We have tried repeatedly to get a hold of Cassidy Mcrite to resolve this issue so we can close this challenging time and move forward but ae met with nothing but ignored phone calls emails and letters. We have reached out to Department of aging to try to resolve this but most likely it seems we will have to hire a lawyer to resolve this issue. Its saddens me to think we have to resort to that when I had such respect and admiration for the nurses and doctors who cared for my grandma and once she passed they have refused to clue us in or even give us a copy of what insurance claims may be pending. I am severely dissappointed in the admiration especially Cassidy Mcrite who runs the Briarcliff facility and dragged out unnecessary such a difficult time for my family that seems to be headed towards not only losing my grandma an my moms mother but a court case to boot. The nurses and doctors are wonderful the administration needs much more traimning on how to handle the their end which is why I am forced to give the facility one star. Mainly due to Cassidy Mcrite

I have had the opportunity to assist several clients with the sale of their homes prior to moving to McCrite Plaza at Briarcliff. Every time I have the chance to visit this facility, I have found it friendly, patient oriented and spotless. Whether you are looking for unassisted, assisted or memory care for your loved one, please take a tour of this facility.

When we first saw this place for my grandfather we loved the place. But after a month of him being here the nurses don’t respond to any of his calls. They ignore everyone. It’s not just one person most of the residents have felt the same way. Especially at night they go somewhere and fall asleep. It’s so crazy how you sign up to be a CNA OR A RN and you don’t respond quick enough for your patients. On the second note my grandfather phone in him room wasn’t working for about a week the nurses knew all about it but when the owner son came up here he got the process don’t faster than the nurses did. All he did was call about the phone, and the man came right up and fixed it. But back to the nurses, all of the residents have a button to push. My grandpa and other members have to push it multiple times now I understand you be with other resident but it shouldn’t talk a nurse a “HOUR” to get to a person. The wait limit is 15 and trust I did ask them. DON’T BECOME A NURSE IF YOU DONT VALUE YOUR PATIENCE NEEDS OR WANTS. My grandpa doesn’t call any problems, he is very easy to work with. My aunt had to call up here and tell them that, but after that call all of the sudden he’s getting treated like this is his first day here. It’s one nurse that always makes sure my grandpa is well token care of and her name is Monay or Moyna. It sounds like Monae, she always makes sure the pt here is well token care of but we haven’t seen her in a while. So if you do come here please ask for monae and be aware of a HOUR wait. To owner, lovely place but please have a talk with your staff...I’ll love to here from you thanks 😊

Boo to you for not taking care of your workers

To Owner: since my father is now on hospice and it took you over a month to ever reach out to me. I stay with my 1 star review if I could give zero I would. Anyone can PM me so I can send documents to show you to stay away. Please research and check nights and weekends. Residents live 24/7 not just business hours. This is suppose to be their home

During the earlier months of the SARS2/COVID-19 outbreak, this facility was negligent and made the local news for its non compliance of local mandates.I called to check on my mother, got to run around. Called the owner, son called back, eventually he said I dont give a s*** about your family. Criminal Negligence, while the MCrite family were safe at home many were nfected in their facilities and many died.

Such a beautiful facility and a great addition to the Briarcliff area!
