When I was looking for a treatment program, C-Star was recommended by both professionals and lay people. I was hesitant at first naturally, but soon I became quite pleased with my decision. The location, in the Islander building was close and the hours were convenient. While the program is seriously dedicated to each person getting well, it is presented with room for fun. Most, if not all of the counselors are ex-users with experience and knowledge of substance abuse, so they know what they are talking about . With their sobriety, education and training fueling their passion for helping those who suffer from substance abuseC-Star is an excellent place for those seeking to get well.

Ive been going to T.A.P for a little over 2 yrs and I never thought that something like this would ever happen to me. One day in group therapy I discussed a situation that happened with my kids to my therapist Hyla. One hour after leaving group, ACS is knocking on my door saying that they got a call regarding abuse in the home. Now, Im under a month long investigation. The case worker is going to call my family memebers to verify my parenting and I cant be alone with my kids. All because I hit my oldest son for hitting his 3 yr old brother. When I spoke to the staff at T.A.P all they had to say was it was protocol. Is it protocol to knock down a mother that is already struggling with depression, who goes to group to help herself and her family, so she doesnt do anything to herself or her family? Group was my safe place where I could go and not feel ashamed for how Im feeling and now I feel so betrayed! When I first started going to group the staff was great. Now, they just seem to have lost their compassion or empathy for other people because its definitely not the same. If Hyla, the therapist, would of spoken to me or tried to offer other help I would have respected her more but because of her I will never trust another therapist for a while. So, this is to just let other fellow patients that have kids or a serious situation going on in their lives, think twice before you speak to or around Hyla. #ProtectiveMother

Its a great place to go when you can be serious and also at times lightin up and have fun.
