I had to have an emergency C-section and this was the best place I could’ve ever been for me and my baby. I was checked in on Saturday and told that I was gonna have to have an extended stay. Every nurse every attending doctor every resident doctor was so kind to me - they answered all of my questions and they gave me information at my own pace and in their own words so that I can understand what was happening to me.Although they tried their best to keep me there for longer, for the sake of gestating my baby longer, my baby and my body were not having it.I was deathly scared they took the time to look me in my eyes every step along the way including the getting anesthesia including put in the oxygen mask on me and while the nurse was on top of me holding in my placenta look me in my eyes and let me know that they were going to do their best and take care of me. Words cannot express how gratitude I have for you and I love always people every single nurse even down to the cleaning lady Miss Anna was so nice to me giving me books when I thought I was going to be there for a long time answering all my questions

Good hospital, with Children’s hospital adjacent to hospital. They have level 1 trauma care and that’s the only in the region now. I was admitted to JCMC for 3 days once and the staff was really nice, the doctors was brief and not very thorough. That’s the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars. The doctors bedside manner was bad and not very helpful in explaining my injuries in detail.

The nurses and doctors were good to the person Im a caregiver to. The people were sweet to the people asking for badges with the patients room number and they asked the normal questions concerning the coronavirus. The bathrooms were spotless. I ate at the cafeteria, Lenny was the cashier and was kind and was making sure the plastic silverware machine was stocked and the area was clean. The lady cooking hamburgers did an amazing job as well. She put fresh fries, onion rings, etc. out. I loved my Turkey Burger and she also asked If I wanted seasoning salt on my fries. Both my parents were hospitalized at JCMC with covid. The care they have gotten has saved their lives and they will be returning home to us. I am thankful to God and staff of the hospital for everything they have done. Why I rated only two stars:My father was moved out of ICU yesterday 9/1/21. I was instructed by the nurse in ICU to call the hospital operator to find what wing of the hospital he taken and his room number. Upon calling the hospital operator I was notified that she had no record of his transfer and to call back later to see if the it was registered in the system that he was moved. This phone call was made at 7:30 pm 9/1/21. It is now 11:08 am 9/2/21 and I have called again and the operator STILL DOES NOT CURRENTLY SHOW MY FATHER BEING IN THE HOSPITAL!!! This is PROFOUNDLY UNPROFESSIONAL!! The operator knew of no one else I could speak with to resolve the issue. I am now just at a total loss and appalled.Again, thank you to the medical professionals for saving my parents lives but the administrative staff needs some training. I hope my experience is not shared by any other families.

It was unbelievable the staff Dr. couldnt have given an less of a dam about the person . In 3 weeks they never asked me about any thing I have never experienced any group of people that cared less about what they were doing in any field. I never saw a Veterinarian treat any animal with less humanity than the hillbillies here showed me,I should have run ,to the nearest large city. If this format would let me they would get less than zero, thier gessing at what was wrong was so far off and use of 100 year old Meds. Almost killed me if I hadnt had my phone to find the latest 9 year old treatment my self I would have died. They told me I had a Zero chance of living 30 days and shipped me to a rest home to die. That was over a year and a half ago and my test now dont show any major physical problems. If you are thinking of retirement here THINK AGAIN!!!!

I sat in the ER waiting room for 7 hours. And I’m not complaining about the wait time bc I know there is a shortage of nurses and covid. I asked them if I needed a referral for a mental health facility and if I was in the right place for one. After hours of waiting and calls to inpatient Facilities, I found after that I didn’t need a referral after all and they lead me to believe I needed one. So now I’m on my way to an inpatient facility at 8:30 at night when I could’ve been there at 11 o’clock this morning.

My introduction into the operating room was… just find a room to go in. This was my first day. The rest of my days there were horrible. I see why they are short staffed. They show no patient care at all. You as a patient are just a number. The nurses constantly fuss and argue. With my own eyes I’ve witnessed nurses talking horribly about patients. The list goes on. Once again another bad experience at this wannabe level one trauma center. I went to the ER via ambulance because I kept taking nasty falls in the middle of April. My blood pressure was also extremely high, which they did get that under control. I kept complaining that my lower back really hurt and I had a painful lump near my left knee. They didnt do any xrays of my lower back just the upper and they did do an ultrasound on that lump which they misdiagnosed as a hematoma. I was there 5 days afterwards I went to rehab. I told the nurse practitioner at rehab about my back which she did order xrays and it turned out that I have degenerative disk disease. She also ordered another ultrasound on my knee and found out it was actually just fluid buildup which could have been drained! This place is such a joke. AVOID. Their ER visits are almost all deemed level 5 (most expensive). If you go and have an X-Ray and blood draw done to confirm what you already knew was the problem, they will make you a level 5 to charge you as much as they can. Went through a review of my bill (which took 3 months) and they didn’t even call me to tell me the review was done or the rationale for why the bill was still level 5 other than “we did an x ray and drew blood so level 5”. This hospital is a true scam and should be ashamed of their point system for ER visits. It is a cash grab plain and simple.

Horrible hospital!! Wouldnt come back here even if I was dying. I came in the ER with chest pains and shortness of breath among other symptoms and all they did was stick me on a heart monitor and leave me in the waiting room for almost 9 hours. No one came to check on me, even with my erratic heart beats dropping to below 40 bpm and the monitor beeping and turning yellow. The waiting room was full of people, including a diabetic elderly woman in a wheelchair who had came in by herself by ambulance for falling and they had her in the waiting room for nearly 24 hours, she had to stay the night in the waiting room, in a wheelchair, and the only thing they brought her was a blanket to sleep with. No food or drinks. My aunt actually left and got her something to eat because she was so disoriented from starving. The nurses who originally hooked me up to the monitor and the receptionist lady were the best interactions I had all day from the staff, the man asking the covid questions was extremely rude and the doctor and nurse who tended to me later were apathetic and seriously need to work on their bedside manners. The doctor didnt seem to care, he seemed more concerned with getting me out of there to free up the bed. Which was ironic given the amount of people who were waiting and I counted 4 open beds as i was leaving and coming in. Nurses standing around talking to each other or on their phones. Every question i asked the doctor, he responded with the same robotic answer. He told me at least 3 different things that he thought was wrong with me, none of which would coincide with each other. Then on my paperwork it pretty much says inconclusive and to follow up with my primary care provider. He said that if I felt worse later and if I decided that I needed to come back that he wouldnt do anything for me. Real comforting! Glad my insurance is paying these people to do absolutely nothing productive. The nurse that took out my IV wrapped the bandage on too tight and my arm started becoming red and swelling up within minutes of her wrapping it. I told her thank you anyway and she walked off and ignored me. I dont care if this is the closest hospital to me and Im dying. After my experience and reading others experiences and seeing that the only trauma hospital in our area has maintained a 2 star review for awhile, I will NOT be back. Shame on you jcmc, if you dont care about people and genuinely want to help others...find a different profession. Myself and others are suffering due to your lack of diligence and care. Probably should have read the reviews before going here, however when you’re in a state of panic, and new to the area, it’s not really the first thing you do. First and foremost; my grandmother and aunts are all EMT’s and nurses, and have been my entire life; so I have the most respect for the profession. This experience however was pretty disappointing, to say the least. We arrived around midnight and just left 4 hours later still without being seen (my girlfriend discharged herself). It was an extremely slow night, considering we watched MANY nurses just stand around and bs. My girlfriend got through triage fairly quickly.. after that we waited about an hour to be brought back, after being brought to the back we sat there for 2 1/2 hours. She was/is bleeding where and when she should not be.. as a woman that’s something that is very serious and should probably be treated as such... after being brought to the back the ONLY thing they did was have her give a urine sample and that was AFTER 2 hours of waiting and her having to ASK for one. When the woman came in to gather insurance info she had told us that we still didn’t even have a doctor assigned. After going on and reading all the reviews; we decided to not sit and wait around for another 5+ hours just for a nurse to even make themselves known. This is absolutely ridiculous and whoever is okay with the hospital being at a steady 2 star rating clearly does not care to change anything considering the same exact complaints go back as far as I can see. So just like everyone else, we will be taking our health concerns to a hospital that actually cares.

I had to bring it to the staffs attention that she had edema in her hands (from the kidney failure) days before. It was brushed off and a nurse even said Ill just change the sheets then. Her wedding ring went missing as well as flowers, cards, gifts and other personal belongings. Because of covid, it has all been brushed off the same way they ignored her condition. They intubated her twice against her written wishes and without even an attempt to gain consent of her legal POA. They later botched a tracheotomy that required a second surgery. It was extremely difficult to get updates about our mother and step-father who were both infected with covid. The hospital refused to volunteer info and required us to call daily and beg for information.Ballads visitation rules are inconsistent. In some cases they will let the family suit up and go into covid ICU. But once a patient is no longer contagious, only one family member can visit through the remainder of a patients stay. There are good people in this place but it all seems to be overshadowed by apathetic ones and an apparent theft issue. The wait in the ER is unreasonably long (2 hours), the guy at the ER desk was apathetic and employees walking around came across as unhelpful and uncaring. Once we got back into the ER area things improved thank God! This hospital could be so much better and I really hope and pray they work on improving things! Patients are people who are in desperate need of help and good care by the time they come to the hospital, and they are grateful for hospital employees who are able to get them better and be helpful, gentle and kind in the process.

Years ago JCMC was an excellent care facility; sadly that is no longer true. My husband was admitted Wednesday night due to severe abdominal pain. From the time he was sent to a room until being released this afternoon noon, not one dr came to his room to discuss what was causing his pain. His bed was not changed, no one offered him a shower/sponge bath, he waited 2 1/2 hours for a cup of ice. Mind you when he finally did get it, it wasn’t his nurse or CNA it was a respiratory therapist. When he asked his nurse this morning about seeing a dr or what they might have documented in his chart she told him she didn’t have time. When she brought his discharge papers she said you can read this when you get home and do whatever you want with it. I understand everyone is overworked due to COVID, but this IS NOT the first time he has been treated this way. He was in there just a few months ago and the service was the same. Basically he wasted time and money because he doesn’t know anymore about his condition now than he did before he went.

My husband kelvin coffey was put in here due to bleeding ulcers. He coded out we almost lost him. Thank the dr that saved him. But my review is based on the fact they have nasty rooms a nasty waiting area that hasnt been cleaned or wiped down in a week. If something happens again he wont be back here. I wanna thank ICU nurses calvin, shane,an allison for being the best an caring.

You would be better off taking your family member to the local vet and having them euthanized. Never had a pharmacist prescribe medication? The medical care is poor at its best.

My mother-in-law has been in ICU and the family has held meetings with the doctor to discuss options for trying to keep her alive. Today was supposed to be the final meeting to decide her future and whether or not we take her off everything and let her go peacefully. Not only were the nurses rude and insensitive to our situation, they only wanted her two sons and father up there, leaving me and her sisters in the dark and unable to voice our opinions. After quite a bit of fighting to go up, her sisters were able to go up with a lot of resistance but only for the meeting, leaving me alone. I have been there for my mother-in-law while she has been sick before. I am just as much her son as the others. The doctor previously had said we ALL could be present for this meeting as well as visiting her in the future. Now because of these nurses and whatever claims they spew, I may not even get to say goodbye to the woman who accepted me more than my own parents on some stuff.

The nurses and doctors are exceptional and professional in treatING me and other family members.I cant believe the stupid comments that people write saying we should pay people based on their reviews. Then that dude should get paid thr same way - or people who think its the same as a regular doctors office - that are increasing the cost of medicine for everyone because they are stupid.

My husband had a Heart Cath test yesterday - the nurse called me on my cell stating she called in a prescription and my husband HAD to start taking this medication tonight or his stint would close - the medication was very expensive and it provided us with some financial problems with his prescriptions - we are retired and on medicare. Also the nurse told me she explained to my husband what to do and how to take care of the wound - according to my husband he was told nothing - received some papers in a plastic bag - they DID not have him sign anything - wheeled him out the front door to our car.Today he tried to call the doctor - received a recording - he also tried to call the nurse - no answer. Why is it the older senior citizens have to pay the price of a corrupted health care system?

All of the nurses and doctors were very nice to my little brother when he got to the hospital, but Theo next thing that makes me kind of sad is that they won’t let me stay with my brother because I’m not a 18 and older but I totally get it because of all of the COVID-19 thing. They nurses and doctors were very kind towards us! ❤️

A Dr. callously told my sister to put an inflatable mattress in a Uhaul to get herself home after she broke her leg in two places. She was allowed 2 days of hospital stay and no pain relief before kicking her out (with good insurance). I sincerely pray that God in His infinite mercy allow the type of judgment that would inspire this physician to no longer inflict the indifference and suffering he prescribed to her (and no doubt others). Thank you sincerely to the EMT, PT and OT staff for their exquisite kindness and care. So if you should find yourself being cared for by this unfortunate spirit, I suggest you wear a garlic necklace and carry some Holy Water in a spray bottle to keep the Snake away.

Amazes me how rude the nurses and doctors are. Im always honest and open about my history and instead of them appreciating the honesty Im treated like scum. Even though I tell them from the get go that I am not asking for any type of pain meds Im treated like a pill seeker. Nurses as well as doctors are rude. Its humiliating to be treated like that. Several times Ive went in with pneumonia and they tell me nothing is wrong only to go back days later and have to be admitted because they wont do the testing to see it. Tonight when I complained about the way I was treated by them I was told well your still getting treatment arent ya. Not to mention my BP was 2 something over 1something. They did nothing to try to get it down and when they discharged me it was still 190 something over 1 something. Crazy

Don’t take your family members here. ever. they lied to us about a loved one waking up and responding, lied about her status, and even lied about when we could call, saying they “no longer take calls”. Pathetic excuse of a hospital. take your family member to the vet before here. Awful people.

This is for the ER. I am actually here now. I had a call ahead from nurses at a dialysis center. They told me they were expecting me. So I have been here for over 3 hours IN THE WAITING AREA. I have been checked in and they took blood and I even have an IV Port, but Ive not been put in a room or anything. I am not the only one, there are at least 3 people with IV ports, one person thats puked her guts up and other random people. When I got here the waiting room was empty. A few people have gone back,u but its been avery few. This is UNACCEPTABLE!

If I could give zero starts I would, we came in with my fiance over severe migraines that he kept having for over a week. They took him into the back room for his info and blood work. They sent him back to the waiting room and we waited for 2 hours for them to call him in and literally speak to him for 5 minutes. The physician assistant that saw him was extremely rude, she walked in like she was doing us a favor. Never once explained what was checked in his blood work, all she said was everything seemed fine. Come back of you still having issues. I have never experience anything like these in other hospitals that Ive been to. Horrible.

THEN THEY DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO HELP ME...this last time I was there for 3 and a half hours before I left. My mother was brought here from assisted living for chest pain, since she got here I have been witness to the worst hospital care I have ever seen. I have heard nothing but excuses for very sub par care, we have been here 36 hours and my 84 year old mother was not even offered food we have had to ask for a tray for her every meal. There is absolutely no communication between the staff and patients or family as to diagnosis, and a seriously evident lack of care expressed by the staff. I do not in any way recommend this facility and will not ever use it again. I think their 2 star Google rating is probably more than deserved.

Total waste of time and money! Went to the Emergency Room for sever anorectal pain and all they did was taking tone of blood from me and a stool sample just to make sure that I wasnt bleeding! When I asked the nurse practitioner about the diagnostic tests that they should have made to diagnose my condition she replied we dont do that here! Just got discharged with 15 pills of NSAIDs for pain and no diagnosis whatsoever; proves my point that most nurse practitioners should stay at home and cook for their husbands.

Went there last night with my adult son and they left him in the room for two hours. I would tell the nurses stuff about him the looked at me like it was an inconvenience and I was interrupting their conversation with other nurses and security guard. And they didnt do anything until my best friend came to see me and they actually listened to her and the doc came five min after she got there. And they discharged him without seeing if he could walk or anything. I used to recommend jc medical but I do not now. And I will not be back. I will try Franklin woods and if we get the same treatment then I guess I will try a different hospital til I get one that gives a damn about their patients.
