If you apply for the energy assistance and you get a case worker named Mandy Morgan PLEASE request another case worker. She is one of the most horrible people I have ever met, she laughed in my face the entire time and all she did was accuse me of lying. When I gave all my information and they can do a better search on me and my husband to see I have nothing to hide. This woman is just horrible she should NOT be working for trying to help the public like I said all she will do is laugh in your face when you are clearly needing help. Worst experience of my life with someone working to help the public.

The place isn’t bad but trying to reach anyone over the phone is absolutely impossible! All it is are voicemails which are black holes and every number you press is a forwarding button to another voicemail. It’s trash.Nvm I realize now that it’s the economic number which is a dumpster fire but there is another number and the lady is the sweetest!!

They sent out a letter saying they needed to discuss something pertaining to my child. The letter came in after business hours on a Friday, and due to the time zone difference, I couldn’t get ahold of anyone for days afterwards. Even during work hours when I call, I don’t even get sent to a voice mailbox. I just get thrown right back to the beginning of recording. No humans ever answer.

Even though COVID-19 they are friendly and accommodating. They temperature check at the door and send you on your way. Security is helpful and friendly. What staff is there is masked up and ready to help.

Do not trust this system. They will not help your child at all. They put my daughter back in the house to live with the guy who she said was doing things to her. I even found out in the investigation that my daughter told CPS about what was going on and they hid it from me. Told me it was a co-parenting problem. Later to get an attorney and find out about this. Come to find out the case worker kajsa had her children taken from her and DSS got her children back from her. Then DSS gave her a job. Facts! DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE, THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR CHILD. THEY JUST WANT TO CLOSE THE CASE AND GET PAID

It is very hard to get someone to answer the phone but when you go into the office they inform you that you need an appointment. They need a dedicated phone operator.

Just wanted to share that you have an amazing worker at this facility. Mrs. Chandler went above and beyond to help assist my family after I got laid off from my job. She truly is the most hard-working, sweetest worker I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with there. I really hope she gets the recognition she deserves. Thank you!

Be careful with Heather Huckaby; she is short-tempered and will fabricate lies. She works with intimidation, lies, and rushes families during her house calls with no regards to the families concerns or stresses. We have been treated with no dignity or respect at all. She has made it a point to let us know that her interest is not our family, rather her job, which she feels there are many other house calls she needs to attend to and not focused on finding a solution or helping families. It is sickening to know that DSS have personnel like her working for them. I attempted to contact her supervisor and left multiple messages to which to this point (days later) there is no response. We are going through hard times trying to deal with this person who has no regards for the well being of our family.Additionally, the answer to our concerns is non-existent. On top of it all, she is using illegal tactics to gather information outside the limits of the law. We plan on writing a formal complaint above her supervisor in hopes of preventing this catastrophe and add-on stresses to other families.

It truly amazed me that a goverment/county service cant follow the law and rules. Please explain to me how you let your employees take a child out of the house with out court documents. By law the dss case worker needs court documents to have to child removed from the home. So how can these people do as the please? Why is it I have to do what the law says and they dont?

I went on 10/31 for engery assistance I was due to cut off on 11/5. I was told that I didnt need to worry that it would be covered. Day of shut off they still havent done anything. Ive called everyday for nearly 2 weeks for an answer. Never once have they returned a phone call. Had to have an extension in my electric bill. I am a single working mom with 4 kids. 2 of which are disabled. And here I am again day of cut off and they wont return my call. I work. I pay taxes. Havent asked for help in 10 years! Yet people who dont work dont try and help themselves get free housing and dont have to worry about not having electric for there children. This system is set up for people who dont try and refuse to work and not for those of us who just rarely need alittle help for the well being of our children. This is pathetic. Thanks for nothing.

My personal experience is that they dont do full investigations and they always side with the mom, despite gratuitous evidence against her. When a complaint is submitted, again, there is zero follow through. Thank god I have custody now, thanks to a good lawyer and a smart and fair judge. They dont care about what is good for the kids nor the input of their dad. They always go with the mom, even with the lack of evidence and proven history. This was back in 2012-2013. I truly hope things have improved.

If I could give zero stars I would!! All Im trying to do is ask a simple question and got hung up on twice!! Then when I did get someone, in the middle of my question, she tells me to hold, she has another call!!! Very rude and unprofessional and its not their personal assistance we are asking for!!

Hold times are unacceptable over 20 minutes just to get someone on the phone. After hurricane Florence it has been impossible to receive any assistance and there has been all types of excuses as to why they havent been able to help out mostly system error. Its been weeks now and I disaster food stamps have still not been received.

I had the worst experience with the dss of Jacksonville because of the fault of a worker called Julie Ryan now I have to pay back $8000 because she was not doing her job and because she wasnt doing her job I was told that it doesnt matter whose fault it was I still have to pay back $8000 something should be done about these workers that dont care about the people and how they inconvenience them
