I first encountered Dr. Lacey during my consultation regarding my sons severe heart condition found in utero. He would have to endure many surgeries, procedures, and tests throughout his life. Dr. Lacey was very clear and concise in describing his condition and my options. I later chose to have her has my sons pediatric cardiologist to continue monitoring her care. In 2009, Dr. Lacey waited to the last minute for my son to have a second surgery to remove a sub aortic membrane that grew so large that it was attaching itself to the mitral valve. I felt that we were not getting all the information about my sons situation. All that was said at every check up every two months was that we dont want to cut too soon, lets wait until hes bigger. Finally, in the September check up, Dr. Lacey decided to take my sons case to the board of doctors to discuss and he was in surgery within a two weeks. As a result of this long wait to remove the membrane, my son had to have another surgery three months later due to severe mitral valve regurgitation.
