I feel like another number on their chart. I recently moved to Jacksonville and needed to find a doctor to offer guidance on fertility. When I called to make an appointment I explained what I was hoping to learn, and asked if they could help. The woman on the phone seemed to hear me, and said she would make me appointment. I assumed that meant I would have an appointment that would get me started assessing my fertility. Turns out, it was a consultation - which means they read the forms I filled out, took a urine sample they told me later they did nothing with, confirmed my address, asked me questions I could have answered on the phone, and referred me to a specialist. No tests. No labs. No help. I was at the office for an hour, nervous about what I would learn, waiting. The doctor was with me five minutes, asked about my health, and said it sounds like Im healthy. Really?? I left frustrated and very disappointed. Then I got the bill. Then I was really frustrated. So I just called the clinic to ask about the bill, to figure out where the communication breakdown was and to see if they would be willing to reduce it. I was flatly told there was nothing they could do. My insurance had already reduced it. Thats the bill. No help, concern, sympathy, NOTHING. Is this normal?? I hope not. But Im not going back.

After ten years being their patient, I will be finding another OBGYN. This company violated my right to informed consent and pressured me into an unnecessary procedure that I verbalized I did not want to participate in. This resulted in an unexpected $566 out of pocket bill. I believe this company cares more about billing than educating and helping their patients. They told me my procedure results would be read on site, yet I received a second unexpected bill from an external imaging center. I tried to work with the office on a billing correction but keep getting passed off. Sabrina the office manager is condescending and will not call my Baptist patient advocate back. My advocate said the Faben office gets complaints like this often. I’m working on a complaint to file with the Florida Board of Medicine. Please consider doing the same if you experience something similar. Update as of 08/30/2021, since challenging the office and leaving this review, the office has sent me a letter stating they are discharging me from their practice. Like I would have returned anyway.

I’ve never dealt with such an insanely incompetent staff anywhere in my life. Every time I have an appointment I get a text and an email to check in online. So I do. Then I get another text and another email. I’ll check in three different times with a confirmation and still have to check in when I get here. I got a check in for two different times on the same day. I called twice the week of my appointment to confirm the time. Then when I get here they tell me “they’ll probably still do the procedure but your appointment was 45 minutes ago.” The fact that the staff can’t even read the schedule does not give me any kind of confidence to let them operate on me. I will not be returning to FABEN again.

Ive been coming to Faben for over 2 years now and up until my most recent visit always seen Dr. Mormak. She is absolutely wonderful and extremely kind. I was upset about something during one of my visits that was outside of her control and she was so patient and kind, she really helped me feel better about the situation and made the rest of my visit so pleasant that by the time I left I was no longer upset. I also appreciate that I was always seeing the same doctor when the types of visits allowed for that. The billing department has always been very transparent with me and Ive never felt blindsided by anything from them.Any time Ive had to call and speak to the front office staff, everyone has always been easy to talk to. Very poor customer service and ommitting information about services prices. Only communicated with me when it involved getting money from me, but when I needed to speak with someone I was ignored for over two weeks. Also with services provided I got no actual diagnostics, just suggestions to have more procedures done. Again, only money oriented. Do not recommend unless you want to add stress and headache to your life.

I wish i could give this practice 0 stars. At my first ultrasound they didn’t see anything besides gestational sac and said it was too early to detect how far along i was. Ok, fine. I go in 2 weeks later and this was the biggest nightmare of my life. During my ultrasound, the sonagrapher said absolutely nothing to me. Approximately 10 minutes later the first words she says to me are “Hmm... did they see anything the last time you were here?” I said no, just the gestational sac, and then she sent me into the waiting room. I then went back to the exam room and waited a whole hour before the doctor came in. While i was in the room i was so scared and nervous something was wrong with my baby. I had people coming in randomly asking if I’m on medications, taking prenatals, etc. At this point I’m just crying because why didn’t the sonographer see anything?! The doctor finally walks in and sees me crying and is confused. She goes and talks to the sonographer and comes back telling me that she heard a healthy heartbeat and not to be worried! I have gone through 2 previous pregnancies and never had a sonographer leave out a huge detail like that. And still at that point they could not tell me what my due date was and sent me away to come back in ANOTHER two weeks! Please, for the health of you and your child, do not go to this practice. They will scare you and leave you with no information. Went to a new OB and was told my due date and got to hear little baby’s heartbeat myself (this is the norm, but apparently not for Faben). Do your research, listen to the reviews. They are incompetent and you are just another number there.***update: i forgot to mention after my first appt, they called me and said i had BV and prescribed me the antibiotic Flagyl. Lady over the phone told me “do not drink with it!” I was like “uhhh.... that will be easy, I’m pregnant....” and she was like “what?! Omg you can’t take this med while pregnant!” I’m sorry but how can the doctors office that told me i am pregnant just suddenly forget and prescribe me an antibiotic potentially harmful to my baby?

When you expect to come to an OB/GYN office you at least expect common courtesy and sympathy . the customer service is so poor, the Front desk Rep is rude and didn’t show a ounce of empathy. I only had one phone call with them my doctors office referred me to them for a OB/GYN clinic. And the first 30 seconds the rep didn’t care no empathy didn’t show any kind of interest. I just had a question to see if I was able to do a payment plan because of personal reasons I wasn’t able to make the full payment in full . her attitude was like nope oh well that’s not my problem. And kept one wording me. you don’t know what people are going through or what people situations are especially pregnant women to be that rude. . Please listen to the reviews. This is my first pregnancy and being new to Jacksonville I chose FABEN as my provider. I primarily saw Porter and Fox a couple of times. Being a new mom to be I was not given the ins and outs of pregnancy as I’ve been told by friends and associates who’ve had kids. In May I was experiencing dizziness and weakness and made an appt. I seen Fox and she said it was the food I was eating and to cut sugars. I still continued to feel this way and experience bad headaches which I also mentioned a couple times to Porter but there was no deeper examination to figure it out. I summed it up to be a part of pregnancy. Due to the pregnancy issues I’ve been experiencing, I lost my job at the end of July along with my benefits. A couple weeks ago I had an extreme case of fatigue from simply washing dishes and almost fainted. I went to the ER and after numerous tests it was discovered I was anemic. I looked at my portal and checked blood work from May and my hemoglobin was low the entire time and it was overlooked by these doctors. I never felt the need to look at them because I trusted they knew best and were doing their jobs. This could’ve greatly harmed me and my unborn child. The symptoms of anemia affected my work performance and cost me my job which I fault my doctors for. Now they’ve dropped me because I no longer have insurance and would have to self pay the duration of my pregnancy. I am now on the hunt for a new doctor that will accept the state funded insurance I have to take at 6 months of pregnancy being it will be extremely hard for me to find work at this stage. I am beyond frustrated and stressed. DO NOT CHOOSE FABEN!!

I am so disappointed with this facility! Please do not waste your time! The doctors are amazing but the billing process is so messed up. The billing department sometimes doesnt call back or calls back like 5 days later. The reception says one thing and the billing department says another. They made me pay the full amount which was ~$300 in clinic then billed my insurance $550 that I ended up owing another $100 for one appointment. If they were open and honest with me I wouldnt have mind paying but I did not appreciate the lack of professionalism. It makes me so sad to say all these things, I truly wish it wasnt this way! Because I love the idea of an all females clinic with such strong and intelligent doctors.

Im pretty sure if it wasnt for the great doctors at FABEN that the billing department would run ALL the patients away. I was told that that are not setting up any payment arrangements due to the Corona Virus & that they needed all the money upfront even after me trying to explain during the pandemic that I couldnt afford to pay what they were asking. The Manager of the billing department told the rep that was on the line with me that if I couldnt pay over $300 then call them back when I can. And I was trying to make an appointment concerning a serious health issues. Ive Never experienced the LEVEL of rudeness ever in life until I started coming to FABEN. So excuse me but my original post still stands true. It was very unprofessional and uncaring the way my friend was treated. They are the worst. If you want get dropped as a patient in your third trimester, this is the place for you. I started my prenatal care here in March. Went to every appointment and billed my insurance accordingly. But somehow they failed to disclose that Baptist Health does not take my insurance. In the their word, I slipped through the cracks. So I changed my insurance plan to Florida Blue Select to Aetna, called to get back on the schedule, and they tell me I need to get re-approved by a doctor I havent seen for my entire prenatal care (Porter). The next day, I got voicemail saying I was denied with no explanation or reason! This stressed me out significantly! It took three days of calling this Rachel person that the nursing dept. keeps sending me to, but no one can tell me her role. In addition, they were incredibly rude and blatantly lied to me stating that she was the only one that help. ( wish I remembered her name, but I know voice)I called the appointment dept. pleading for assistance and God bless her, Shanitha, I think, actually took the time to hear me and get her manager involved. She actually knows the definition of patient care. Finally, I was advised by the office manager that Faben was at capacity and I would have to find somewhere else to finish my care. How does that make sense? I missed my August appointment because of your office neglect and now I had to be penalized and dropped as a patient in my THIRD TRIMESTER OF PREGNANCY! I will never go back there. How can you treat a pregnant woman like this? After much searching, I found a way better Obgyn, that allows my partner in the appointments and the people are so much kinder. Good luck to the current patients there.

I’d like to start by saying the Doctors I’ve come across were nice especially Dr. porter & Dr. Fox the other one I can’t remember her name but I haven’t had a issue with them, however the nurses/ whoever answers the phone are just not friendly.starting from the top I’m a FTM and I expected the drs to give me information & what to expect and what not to do/ eat because I don’t really know it’s not until about my third appointment where I had to ask. There was also a time where I had to have a telehealth visit which I thought was unnecessary because honestly those questions could’ve been asked at the appointment prior but anyway the time came for the appointment no one called so I had to keep emailing and calling the office (no one answered) to figure everything out, which was frustrating because I took time off to have a 10 minute conversation but I had it make 2-3 hours later. A had a ultrasound tech that didn’t speak at all or explain to me what I was seeing around 10 weeks again I’m a FTM so I just expected them to dumb things down and explan things to me. Also my drs failed to tell me I was considered “high risk” i found out on my patient portal vs from a dr. I ended up changing offices for many reason but mainly because they were a bit unorganized in fact they “lost” some of my blood & they had to redraw it they can’t tell me what happened with it exactly. Something that I also didn’t like is they didn’t let spouses in for even just the ultrasound while my new office does, I’m a first time mom and I just feel like they neglected to explain & treat me as a valued patient. Hope they can do better.

I recently visited as a new patient the Southpoint Office location, and If I had the option to give them a ZERO starts I would. This place is horrible, the front office staff are the most UN-PROFESSIONAL and UNFRIENDLY people that I have ever seen on any type of office environment, especial a doctors office where they supposed to deal with your health and personal information. I will never return at this practice, and I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. The office staff dont care about you or any of your problems, they seem to be there to gossip and talk about other people in front of you. If you have an appointment, plan to be seen at least an hour after your scheduled time. If you try to question them about the time, they will unprofessionally talk you down. There is an office manager with the name MEESHA, she is the worst of all. I do not even know how they have given her that position. She does not know how to talk to patients, she is very rude, and does NOT care of your concerns. Another red flag that I witnessed during my visit with this office is that, all the office staff and the nurses/patient care personnel they DO NOT wear name tags. You really do not know who is taking care of you. If you ask them what is their name, they hesitate to tell you. If you ask them for their last name, they will definitely not tell you. Save your self a trouble and a long office visit, and look for a match better clinic where they truly care about you and your needs. This office is definitely not one. If you look at their negative reviews, they have not even responded to other former patient negative reviews, because they do not care. However they have responded to positive reviews. This is a honest review, from self experience. Somebody from their corporate needs to do something urgently to fix all the mess that they have at their Southpoint Office location.

I don’t understand the bad reviews. I’ve delivered 2 of my 3 children using Faben and it’s been wonderful. Women treating women! Every pregnancy is different and I happen to be a “high risk” pregnancy due to blood clots and they were all still wonderful! They recommend I see a high risk OB in addition to them and I did for a while, but it got too expensive so I opted to just see Faben. They didn’t agree, but it’s the patients right to choose and they respected that.I wouldn’t go anywhere else but Faben. Yes, wait times can be long because OB appointments take a while and they spend time in the room with you. And if your insurance isn’t good, copays will be a lot, but that’s not Fabens fault.Ignore the bad reviews and give them a try! I’m glad I did :)

Been here a few times. The very first and only time was pretty good. Wait time was short. Quick in and out. After that, it was kind of bad. Had to do some tests... and the lab they sent to didnt even performed it properly (not sure if they forgot to order it or what, but that was a waste of 3 hours of my life). Then they were billing to my old house. I didnt get notices from the office or anything about that payment, no call, no online/email notices. And all the meetings with the doctor has been a terribly long wait. Anywhere from 45 to more than an hour wait.... I check in and all. Its even more obnoxious after all that wait, you see the doctor for less than 5 minutes, and get billed $160. And their appointment systems been bad. They contact you to contact them back... but the phone line always seem busy.... the online isnt much better. It been how long now? And theyre sending my prescription to the wrong pharmacy.... =/ Theyre not organized. I have never been charged more for absolutely nothing. Im gonna switch.

I do not even give one star to this facility. They have the worst billing department ever that I see. They charged more then 2k before the baby was born by saying that it is their company rule. But I had friends who went to same facility and did not charged any thing like this before the baby was born. But they kept saying I had to pay it otherwise they would not see my wife. So I paid. It seems like they claimed to insurance company and insurance company paid them most of their claim. Which means the money that they got it before was not necessary. But they did not reach me or told me anything. Even I took my wife twice to that place 5 and 6 months after baby was born. They still charged money for those visits and did not even tell me that they have money that they owe me. Later I got a bill from hospital and wanted to check my insurance claims and saw that I overpaid them. I called them and asked for the money. On that time they accepted that they took more that what I supposed to pay. They also said it was my fault to not to let them know that they owe money. Now they sent a check and the lady said that it would take 30 days to reach me! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY TO ANYBODY! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH. THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY

After my procedure(no insurance, paid thousands completely out of pocket)went to my post-op visit and I wasnt told I owed anything and then a month later received a bill. I immediately called to ask why this wasnt included in the initial fee knowing I dont have INS and knowing theres always a post-op surgery visit. This is a mixed review, because there were things I liked and didn’t like about the practice but ultimately I left about halfway through my pregnancy and found a different doctor group I felt more comfortable with.I’ll start on the positive: extremely clean and updated facilities, great online portal system and communication, very nice ultrasound technicians and for the most part the doctors were very kind (while meetings were brief, I’ll get to that next). Now the negative: it is a big practice and I personally felt like just a number. This is my first pregnancy and came in with lots of questions, concerns, etc and always felt rushed and that my long list of questions was more of an annoyance than anything. One doctor actually dismissed some research I had done as “hogwash” shaking her head as I was speaking. I felt incredibly unheard and dismissed. She went on to say that I had probably learned this from mom blogs and that everyone loves to share their birth story, this wasn’t the case as I had done research on birthing techniques from speaking to my doula, taking webinars, and reading Mayo Clinic books. If they were this dismissive in meetings, imagine how they would be during the actual birth. They were extremely cavalier when I asked about their C section rate just stating that if it has to happen women are generally happy because it saves baby but yes it happens very frequently. One thing important to know in their practice is you can only give birth when it’s time for the baby to come on your back with your legs in stirrups. This is fairly common with doctor/ hospital practices I’ve learned, however it is not necessarily the most comfortable for mothers or the most effective for getting the baby out. While being in a hospital to deliver was important to me I found a doctor group that has 2 doctors and 2 midwives and you can labor and push in any position that is healthy and comfortable for you and baby.I implore women to do research and not just take what the doctor says as law. I’m incredibly happy I switched practices and feel so much more confident leading up to my birth now.

I only have good things to say about this group. Ive loved all the doctors Ive met. Majority of my appointments Ive been seen on time or even taken back early. When Ive had questions after hours or on weekends, Ive left a message and had my call returned in a timely manner. The new location is beautiful! This was my post prior to delivery. As my due date approached and baby grew, we decided to induce because she was measuring on the larger side. My husband and I checked into Baptist and everything went pretty smoothe. We started with cervadil to ripen my cervix and hours later, got an epidural. About 8-9 hours in to the 12 hour medicine, the babys heart rate began a roller coaster ride. The RN ended up stopping it a few hours early because baby just wasnt tolerating it well. Dr. Caldow came in after and we spoke about possibly doing an elective c-section. I was really against it initially but told her i would do whats best for my baby. We decided on trying the pitocin and just seeing how things went. Baby did well with the pitocin but as we got more dilated, it seemed the epidural stopped working and I was in a lot of pain. After another 10 hours or so of pitocin, we FINALLY get to 10 cm about 9 pm the day after our check-in. The RN calls Dr. Caldow who apparently had just gone in on an emergency c-section. We were told we could NOT push and the pitocin infusion was STOPPED. The RN assured us that c-sections generally are short and it shouldnt effect our progress. Hours pass as my contraction strength dwindles. Approx 1 am the nurse returns and says she got the ok to continue. Pitocin is started AGAIN at the lowest amount and works its way back up to the amount we ended at. For nearly 3 hours I push, never once seeing Dr. Caldow nearly 16 hours previously. Suddenly, babys heart rate is dropping then unable to be detected by 2 nurses. Dr. Caldow was paged once it dropped and guess what, SHES AT HOME. When she finally arrives, she checks baby and decides we need to do an emergency C-section. I am rushed to the OR. Quickly I am cleaned and drapped and anesthesia works on my spinal tap. Unable to get me numb (I feel the first cuts) they quickly put me under and intubated. An hour goes by as my husband and family sit wondering if baby and I are alive. No one updates them, not even Dr. Caldow after she finished my surgery. Finally baby is handed to dad and hes told by a nurse Im still being worked on. After 2 hours, I am finally wheeled to recovery when Im pale as a ghost and shaking uncontrollably. Never once does Dr. Caldow check on me or speak to us about what had happened. Baby had a low apgar score but was doing ok. Post discharge I review my records through baptist and notice my hemoglobin levels were extremely low and really should have received a blood transfusion. I was never treated for my blood loss nor notified of it. When I met with Dr. Caldow for my post partum care, I began to question her about my experience. SHE DIDNT EVEN KNOW WHO I WAS. Why are you seeing me post-op with not even checking my record???? I work in a hospital and see patients and I would never do that without knowing their medical history, otherwise things get MISSED. I truly believe she could have killed me and my baby with her negligence. I delivered 7 months ago and still to this day am traumatized by this experince. I wouldnt recommend my worst enemy to deliver here!

I had called and asked if this group takes high risk patients and was advised yes, so I make an appointment. I leave work early, get there and pay my copay and find out in fact they dont want me as a patient because I am high risk. As someone whos already feeling overwhelmed and lost due to having an unplanned pregnancy this visit just really made me feel defeated. I fear for anyone coming to this office feeling hopeless, like I was, thinking about abortion because they will surely make you want one.

Faben Obgyn is a money hungry practice to say the least. They charge insurances using which ever method that will financially benefit them the most. They even make their patients pay for services such as circumcision for newborns out of pocket even if your insurance covers it and leave it up to you t go through your insurance to get reimbursed. Not only is this practice money hungry they arent quite honest as well. When I first started seeking prenatal care I specifically asked about their views regarding VBACS since my situation was a little different before being that my last delivery was vaginal although before that I had 2 prev C sections. The first Dr. I saw told me that basically if she was the one delivering that day as long as baby and I were fine she wouldnt mind me trying for a vaginal again. The second Dr. I saw basically told me that it wasnt up to them but up to the hospital and their policy. Well I contacted the hospital and as I figured the hospital stated it was up to my Dr. to make that call. So then I see a 3rd Dr. and she basically stated that a Vbac was out the question but instead of scheduling at 39 weeks they could wait till 40 weeks and see if I go into labor on my own. The only thing I can say about the 3rd Dr. I saw which was Dr. Hicks was at least she was honest..she did not lead me to believe that they would be willing to try a Vbac but just flat out told me that was not an option. Your doctor(s) are suppose to be trustworthy people not deceitful and to be honest this practice is full of deceitful Doctors. There was also a incident with one of their MAs/nurses.. I went in to take my glucose tolerance test and that morning I was drinking a smoothie.. The MA/nurse came and said I had to reschedule because of this when I told her that no one told me that I could not eat/drink before the test She had the nerve to reply But you have other kids. That was so unprofessional!! Especially since its their job to inform their patients about specific instructions when it comes to any lab test or procedure. Also I would make sure you check your visit notes for each visit, there was a time were the wrong vitals were inputted for my vitals. I understand completely that this is their career and its ok to be about your money but you should at least ACT like you care about your patients. Im just happy to say that after wasting my time and money with this practice I was able to find a trustworthy, caring, VBAC friendly doctor/practice!! I switched at 33 weeks, so ladies just know if you dont feel comfortable with your current provider its never too late to try and switch!!

When I first started going to this practice I was about 16 weeks along in my pregnancy. I was coming from a terrible office in yulee, FL.. so coming here I was very excited to have a new doctor. At first I was treated phenomely! It wasnt ever a long wait, they were catching me up in treatments that my old doctor lacked in doing for me, and I felt reassured. Now Im 30 weeks along and the last 2 appointments have been... uh... questionable. Im not sure if the staff communicates with eachother or not because Ill get phone calls trying to set up an appointment when I literally just set one up the day before or have an appointment literally the next day... or the woman at the front desk will be unsure of what Ill be getting done on my appointment. They also messed up my lab results somehow someway for my glucose test so I had to do it twice. The second time around the woman who took my blood asked me if my name was the name on the tube and I realized they didnt ask me that last time. Unorganized maybe??? Also I have tricare insurance and I shouldnt be paying upfront for a circumcision yet they keep telling me I have to pay it regardless and that Ill get the money back ... then why make me pay it ????I also have a few issues in my pregnancy so they have to keep a closer eye on my baby, meaning ultrasounds every visit... But at my last visit they didnt give me one since I was redoing my glucose test due to their mistake. At the end of my appointment, the lady at the checkout desk was confused in why I didnt get a ultrasound. Clearly theres no communication amongst the staff.Would I recommend this office? You tell me.

This OB/GYN is extremely unprofessional from the staff and down to Dr. Mormack. The staff is rude! They NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONE! Wait time is absolutely ridiculous! And you are asked every time, what you are here for whenever you go inside of the office! It seems like nobody’s ever on the same page here! I have had to wait two hours before because somehow my appointment was not in the computer AFTER I checked in AND want in the back. Me and my husband are having issues getting pregnant, that’s why I went to this office! I was advised that they can do three cycles Then they will send me to a fertility specialist. I was diagnosed with PCOS by Dr. Mormack however every time I went to a appointment Dr.Mormack kept bringing up my weight, Which made me very anxious and very nervous to go to my appointments because I knew she would bring up my weight! Even with all the red flags and feeling the way I did! We went and started our first cycle , I had a extremely good follicle my first cycle however due to Dr.Mormack not sending my prescription for my hCG shot, and the office not answering their phones I was not able to advise anybody of that until my cycle day 12 appointment. When I brought it up to Dr.Mormack , she was annoyed with me and of course I was blamed for her mistake! So my first cycle and my follicle went down the drain because I didn’t have what I needed to possibly have a better outcome! Cycle number two I had no good follicles, and the 3ed cycle that I actually used my hCG shot for I unfortunately didn’t end up pregnant! I feel like she should have it done it 2 more times due to the fact that I only used my hCG shot for one cycle. I didn’t get my three cycles like I was advised in the beginning of this whole process. At my last appointment she told me if I don’t end up pregnant this cycle she’s going to send me to a specialist, I was very upset about that because if I had the money I would have went to a specialist from the beginning and not her! After my last cycle there was no follow up or anything. Due to this being a ALL female OB/GYN office I thought there would be a bit more understanding and more compassion when it comes to women having difficulties with fertility, but unfortunately I was completely wrong and it was the complete opposite. I must say I did have one inquire with Dr.Fox and she is amazing I wish that it was a possibility for me just to see her instead of seeing Dr.Mormack I feel like she is a more understanding versus the rest of the office !

Horrible and incompetent!Aside from the Dr. Ava hitting my cervix and causing excruciating pain, this office screwed up the billing.I’ve gone through hell to get them to correct their mistakes.I will NEVER return to this office.
