Went once and joined. Plenty of ranges to shoot at as a member. Nice to shoot outside. Range safeties check on ranges and other shooters are very helpful. Website is full of information. Can also shoot shotguns, which I had not done in almost 30 years. Each time I go, I meet someone new and enjoy myself more. The comradery is great. Its my escape from the everyday routine.

Awesome place for some outdoor shooting, they offer many different target options as well as distances. The staff is helpful and the prices are reasonable. After one visit youll want to be a member.

Today I experienced basic pistol training the instructor was Ron he was awesome and showed me all the steps for self defense he showed me how to load my pistol he was very patient with me he is someone who I would highly recommend kudos goes out to Mr Ron.

Great ranges. Great Range Safety officers. 2 stars because if you have to deal with Carol in the front office youre going to have a bad time. Watched her yell at a customer for 15 minutes over a misunderstanding. Shame because would be a 5 star range without her.

Gateway is a well-maintained range, including the grounds and facilities. The staff is attentive, helpful, and friendly. Youre required to take a test before being allowed to use the range so everyone has a baseline of proper conduct. Speaking of conduct, most of the customers Ive encountered have been a pleasure to interact with. Its convenient to back into the line to load and unload your vehicle. You can also occupy a lane as long as you want without being rushed to vacate. Theyve added spots for impaired customers and offer priority in specific lanes.

Great place to target practice.

Get a membership here and get access to the 200 yard and the private pistol bays and trap. Trap is unlimited with your own clays with no additional cost. Best outdoor range around Jax.

We joined this range and love the setup. The range safety officers are so friendly. Hours are good. Its exactly what we were looking for! As a member you can utilize your own bay, with shade, a table, and set up area. There is plenty of space so you dont feel crammed. Its perfect

Very good experience at this gun range for a first time shooter.The people are very friendly, both staff and customers are helpful and kind. Its NOT a range where people are nosey and annoying, but are still social and nice. The price is excellent for the services provided.

My father in law enrolled as a member and two of us paid the daily rate. There is a mandatory safety brief with test (~30 minutes), which one has to score 100%. All three of us are experienced and were pretty much on autopilot. We shot rifle in 25, 50 and 100 and pistol. The rifle line had other shooters so we had to coordinate range cold and hot. We were the only shooters on our pistol range so we were faster here. Dont forget tape, binos and florescent stickers.

Always a fun place to go on the weekend with my son and my husband. It is nicely set up and spread out. There are picnic tables at each range. We usually take a little cooler of Waters/sodas and a picnic lunch to enjoy while we shoot.

Great place! Always fun to practice! Clean bathrooms. Everyone there, the staff and the shooters, are always professional.

If you dont mind a small range fee, the facilities are outstanding! If I was stationed a little longer I would definitely become a member!

Always a good experience. Fair warning, the RO are strict. They dont care if youre a new shooter or experienced. FOLLOW THE RULES.They will warn you and it may not be the nicest, but they keep it one of the safest ranges around.

The staff here is great, very friendly. The ranges are well kept and their is plenty of ranges to shoot at. Plus if you get a membership, so does your spouse.

My favorite range by far!Positives :1) More room, benches and shooting space than any range I’ve found near by.Have been a member for a few years and love it.2) Very laid back, but safety oriented.3) Plenty of privacy and space in pistol bays4) Must be a member to enjoy all of the range but benefits of being a member are awesome.5) Area for clay pigeon / shotgun fun6) Excellent silhouette range and pistol ranges which include 15,25,50,75 and 100 yd increments7) Fairly priced membership costs, day costs and targets are cheaper than dirt which I love!8) Very relaxed on your ammo and they don’t dictate whether you shoot steel cases, aluminum or brassDownsides in my personal opinion:1) There’s a 2 second rule on rifle line.I understand, however, wish at least one of the groups of benches was opened up to the more tactical style rifle shooter.2) No steel plates at 100 and/ or 200 yardsI’ve visited almost every range in North Florida and though I have 2 tiny dislikes, it’s my go to range!

One of the only ranges around NE FL area where you can bring young kids to and there is no charge for them also. There is plenty of space and options for shooting and even more for members, but it can get busy fast depending on the day/time you go. If you plan on shooting at paper targets then bring some tape or a stapler to fasten your targets to their board they provide. They do have tape and staplers for sale in their shop if you forget to bring some. Overall, its the most affordable range around.

I was able to shoot my steel ammo which was nice. You do need to bring your own staples or tape for your targets.

Fantastic collection of ranges, and the shop is reasonably priced. Signed up for an annual membership the first day.

Great Monthly Matches. Check out the calendar on their website and go get some trigger time at a great facility. Experienced staff will help, and they have everything you need to get on target.

Have been a member of many clubs throughout the US during my military service, this club has really taken off and become a top rated facility. They’ve always been a safe and respectful place to shoot and bring your friends and family since I first came in the 90’s; however, after a 9-year absence from 2008-2018 they’ve grown exponentially and added many really awesome ranges but maintained the top safety and service standards they had as a small range/club from “back then.” Hats off to this wonderful facility and the staff that ensures safety and fun for all. By the way, photo is 200 yards, Smith & Wesson M&P .223/5.56Nato, 55 grain, standing at 200 yards, iron sights. Non sibi sed patriae!

Great pistol rifle and shotgun range, but the price is a little high for membership

Recently joined with annual membership. Ranges are well maintained and the staff is likeable. I appreciate the overall feeling of be safe, be responsible, and enjoy. Range Officers are present but not bossy or intrusive. I, personally, am comfortable with having them present.

Great staff with friendly RSOs. The range itself is also pretty awesome. I will most certainly be returning.

Great experience, lots of fun with two friends and my 18 years old grandson. Range personnel were wearing masks and taking necessary precautions. I only wish you allow silhouete type targets in the 7 and 15 yds pistol ranges (you could sell them) and offer military discount. Keep it up👍

We recently bought a gun at a local gun shop. That experience was poor and the people were extremely rude. Our experience at Gateway was the complete opposite. The people were friendly and helpful. We loved our experience and will return.

Gateway has some of the best outdoor shooting around. To truly enjoy this range you should become a member and gain access to the back pistol ranges. There you will find the freedom and space to truly hone your craft.

When you sign in to use the range ensure they write up a ticket. You are not in line to shoot if there is no ticket regualess of you signing up. During covid lanes are reduced to 4 so be prepared to wait.

The best place in Jacksonville to shoot by yourself or with family and friends.

Well run outdoor range. Open to the public for the front pistol and rifle ranges, members only on the back ranges. Reasonable membership fees, with first year initiation fee. Safety video and passing a test on it required. Jax West Well Armed Woman Shooting Club chapter meets there on the 3rd Saturday each month.

They have really fixed the place up, bigger office is much better but they need more cashiers to avoid standing in 15 minute lines! Smoking should be banned on the property since irresponsible adults cant keep their butts picked up, makes the grounds look trashy😔 Excellent place for shooting and target practice!

Very easy to use range. Separates the daily and annual/life members. Nice shooting areas, friendly users, excellent staff and Range Officers. Everyone is helpful and if asked willing to give pointers. Prices are high for ammo and membership. Steel targets are fun when visiting friends join you. The cowboy shooting is fun to watch on Saturday mornings.

Best place to shoot in jax

I understand they want to maintain safety but when Im spending my money at a business or non-profit I need to be talked to respectfully.

This place was friendly and big! They dont rent guns though (and not much ammunition for sale) so if youre trying to figure out what youre most comfortable with its not the place to go.

Im an NRA certified instructor, a RO, and a military instructor. A friend and i went here today despite their reputation, and they did not disappoint. My friend got screemed at and cursed at for a VERY minor (safe) breach of etiquette. Will not return. If you like power crazed ROs and ridiculous rules, knock yourself out but youll have a far better experience at a different range. These guys are NOT new shooter friendly.

Pretty dang awesome outdoor facilities. Great covered pavillion for those just observing or tagging along. Clean restrooms.

This is a very nice and friendly place. Someone is always willing to help out is you need it. The place is huge and you never have to wait. As a 1 day shooter they give you 2 free targets to use. The people there are great

Safe place to shoot with range officers patrolling regularly. They have a small store for members that offers fantastic pricing on ammo. There are regularly scheduled events monthly as well as a yard sale a few times a year. They have many different ranges to choose from and are all handicap assessable. You can get a daily pass that allows you limited access to different ranges or a membership that is more than reasonable in cost. We paid more at a different range and got far less.

Went to shoot today. Was very good experience. For first time. Only wish I had brought more ammo. Good yard rules. Good. Experience will go back for annual pass well worth it.

I have only been to the part of the range that is for non members. But was good for sighting in the 22 I recently purchased. Everyone was professional and safety minded. Had a good time. Went through about 500 rounds of 22. Also they have some steel targets to shoot as well. That was a lot of fun. It kind of reminded me of an old time shooting gallery.

Join in on the amazing adventure. Expert staff, great facility, and some the nicest patrons you will meet. The people coming to this place feel like family and create a community of good neighbors.

Great family friendly gun range. The yearly fee may seem pricey until you check out the cost of other gun ranges within 75 miles. They are CHEAP! Love this place! Something for everyone here - even cowboys!

This was my first time at the club, brought my wife and daughter for their first shoot. The people were real friendly, informative and I love how they stress safety. Family friendly which is important and full members have their own section. The range officer was in charge, which is so important and appreciated. Great day of shooting with the family. Has ranges for every discipline. I am not interested in pistol bullseye but theyve do it. I am restarting small bore rifle 50/50 bench rest and look forward to general enjoyment of carefully pulling trigger. Look on Internet specific site. A lot of safety rules but not a place to be sorry. I enjoy handgun and rifle ranges.UPDATE Treat people like you want to be treated. From first day I was respectful to RO and he was helpful to me. I have always found staff to be helpful, as well as other members be friendly.

Such a great facility!! I love the staff the range masters are very friendly. My family and I go frequently and even if we have to wait a while we always leave happy. Very reasonable pricing for membership and guest passes.

Read the reviews before going and honestly was a little hesitant to make the drive after seeing some of the negative reviews. Figured I would give it a try anyways. This place is great. Staff was excellent. Range officer was friendly and was not standing over anyone’s shoulders. He drove around in a golf cart and checked in from time to time. Going to u lock all the options they offer by joining as a member next time I go. Took 2 kids and they had a blast as well. I will definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a great range to enjoy. Please don’t let the few negative reviews stop you from going. I’m glad I didn’t.

I have been a member since 1991 and love this place. After the first year the dues are ridiculously inexpensive. For the non member ranges the rules are what they are. If you dont like those rules become a member or stay home. The range and club is safe and if that means strict adherence to rules so be it. Ive seen a lot of novice shooters over the years and like that the range officers do their jobs so I can shoot more and babysit less. Thank you gateway staff and board for keeping our range safe and modern.

I loved this place and highly recommend it to all that love shooting. This is a members club but you can enter as a guest. You have to watch a 20 minute video and take a test but they are very safety oriented and have a lot to offer. Best of all the price is fair.

I like outdoor ranges, this facility has ranges for pistols, rifles(100 and 200 yards) shotguns( including clay pigeons). Its well run and well maintained.

Great place to go shooting. You can bring your own bullets. You do need to pass a safety test before you can shoot so be ready for that. Also they do not rent ear protection.

Customer Service, was right on time! The attention to safety was very good! Prices where a little up there, but you all know what I alway say; you will always get what you pay for!! They had the place all painted up and clean as a whistle! Im always looking out for very clean places, quality and clean is my thing. all of the employees were very friendly and cordial but they didnt hover and sit over your shoulder, I like that very much about this range. I highly recommend this place to all of my friends out there, also all my employees must get some time here, at least once a month. Keep them in the Ten Rings my friends?

Best run gun range in my area. Good safety rules, range officers, and facilities. And the office staff is very helpful and pleasant.

This place is awesome for members. A little crowded in the day area if you just want to shoot for the day. They are all about safety! And they have a lot of tournaments. We are happy with it.
