Yesterday I had to turn in my resignation due to health complications.I can honestly say every effort is given to provide loving, quality care for the clients and the employees are outstanding. Comfort Keepers provided a care giver for my father for over 5 years. They started in our home and when my dad moved to an assisted living facility they went there as well. The aides were wonderful. I needed help and I needed it NOW. Mom was coming to stay with me after a bad fall and I was terrified of some of the caregiving she needed. What if she slipped in the shower? I called Comfort Keepers and they were Johnny on the spot. Got visits lined up right away. It was the same caregiver each visit. Anyone who has dealt with this knows how important it is to have the same person especially with Mom and the onset of dementia. She knew just how to handle everything, including putting in the hearing aids. I felt safe leaving Mom alone to do errands while Ty was with us. Comfort Keepers were a salvation for our mom. Unfortunately, her health had been on a downward spiral all of 2019. In the hospital, then out, and then back again. We were able to get mom rehab to strengthen her and get her walking again so that she was finally able to return home. She was home for a few weeks and that is just where she wanted to be! I called Kathee Murphy at Comfort Keepers for her assistance. She was able to arrange a home health aide right away. She was fabulous. In December of 2019, I was finally able to convince my very independent 98 year old father whose health was failing to get some help at home. I suggested that he consider Comfort Keepers. When I told him that Kathee Murphy, the President and CEO of Comfort Keepers was a Retired Commander who served as a nurse in the Navy- that information got his attention. My father was a WWII Veteran who also served in the Navy. When he spoke to Kathee he was so impressed with her kind way and professionalism that he agreed to get some assistance. I was thrilled. Kathee and Cassandra (Scheduling Coordinator)) listened to my fathers needs and choose Shelley as his caregiver. What an excellent choice. My father was happy and so was I. Although it was a short time that Shelley was with my father before he passed away, I had some peace of mind that I sorely needed. Comfort Keepers is a blessing to families and to our community.
