Bosco and I took the foundations class with Anne and she was awesome! Great instruction and I am more confident working with my dog than ever. I brought my new Malinois puppy to Anne for the 6 week obedience course and had a great time. The class was fun, we looked forward to it every week, my pup learned a ton and Anne really knows what she’s doing!

My dog, Clyde and I completed the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program foundation classes and the AKC Basic Obedient Classes. Clyde also passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test last week. Im so glad I went to see Anne for advice. I have a small breed dog that recently has started showing signs of aggression, which included biting my guests and myself. He also had a bad barking habit that was particularly annoying while in the car. Id tried all sorts of things from things I saw on TV shows, hiring another trainer and reading online. Anne has given me practical advice and how to implement it. Shes explained it to me from a dogs perspective, which is especially helpful when trying to change behaviors. While training with my dog is still a work in progress, I am already seeing very positive results.

They wont be staying in the crate the entire time, like at most boarding facilities. Theyll be trained while theyre there, and they get to play with the daycare dogs as well. Many pups from the year 2020 have missed out on much needed social skills and group settings to help them become good with the basics and being around other dogs. Our adopted Doberman was one of those COVID pups who ended up in rescue at 10 months, and DOG provided just what we needed for him on his way to being a great all around boy. Hes super smart, and now weve the basics to build on to keep his mind and body properly engaged so we can survive his high-energy youthful years! Highly recommend Anne and her team.

We took our 11mth puppy here. She was so excited and the first class was a struggle. By the 3rd class she was still excited but her listening behavior was noticeably improved. The staff offer a lot of good advice when you have specific problems. I would absolutely recommend, it was a great class. They found a way for everyone to still maintain social distancing and get the individual attention your pet needed. We plan on coming back for more lessons.

Great place to take your dog for learning new skills. I learned a lot and had a pleasure watching not only myself and my pup grow but everyone else in class grow over six weeks of basic obedience training class.

We couldnt have been happier with our experience here - the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. They do a great job of explaining the why and methodology in the training and break it down so you know how to keep up the training. Our dog Sarge loves being there. Would highly recommend.

We initially completed the puppy class and we loved the results that we saw with our dog. However, we felt that she needed more training and we needed sanity!! We decided to further her training by doing their in-home training program. Our trainer was Jo McKay and we cannot express how amazing, professional and knowledgeable she is. She made the training program easy and clear for us to understand and follow. She was always available to answer questions and was receptive with our schedule. Good training can be expensive but this was definitely worth every penny.The owner, Anne is extremely helpful and accommodating. She always makes you feel welcomed and is very knowledgeable. One of the things that I love about Dog Obedience Group of Jax is that they also have the training tools (prong collar, place board, etc.), which is extremely convenient.We recently boarded our dog, since conveniently they provide boarding if you are one of their clients. It was a wonderful experience and our doggie appeared pretty happy at pick up!Honestly, this review does not capture how happy we are with their services. Just before our move to Jacksonville last year I got a German Shepherd puppy (Francis).Not my first GSD but definitely my most challenging I knew when he insisted on bringing his red light saber on our walks, I needed to up my game and find a trainer ASAP. I knew he had limitless potential but I was clueless on what to do.After extensive research I found DOG of JAX and Anne who in a nutshell is the Jedi master of dog training!!! what ever your situation with your dog she has the knowledge and expertise to get the results you’ve always wanted.I started with private lessons which were invaluable for Francis and especially for me. We’ve also completed several groups classes.Francis and I go everywhere together and are always looking for more challenges to take on. I highly recommend DOG of JAX!!!

I, Kathy Sims, have been involved in taking two basic obedience classes with my corgi puppy and most recently participated with her to earn her canine good citizen dog! Having had a lifetime history of owning and training show dogs, and now quality “pet” dogs, I can say that Anne Baxter (D.O.G of Jax) is VERY knowledgeable regarding dog behaviors. She is so knowledgeable and caring about the all the dogs in her care and in her classes. The dogs all LOVE her!!!!!I will continue to take more classes with her and highly recommend D.O.G. Of Jax for board and train or classes to take with your dog.I keep reviewing additional upcoming dog training classes to take with Anne. My dogs love the training, and I love the interaction with the trainers and fellow participants. I particularly love that my dogs are well behaved and listen to me. We got a rescue dog from the animal shelter. She was about 8 months old. She had no training whats so ever. She was almost like a wild dog. Took her to the obedience classes. What a difference it has made! She still is a work in progress but now I have the tools to help her become a better dog!

What a difference in our Loki in just 6 weeks! D.O.G. of Jax, specifically Anne and Mariah, were incredible. They were patient with us humans, and I have truly been amazed at how effective their techniques are. No doubt they are the best in their field!

We sent our six month old German Shepard, Lucy, for the four week board & train program. Prior to the training, Lucy was difficult to control, a little destructive, would jump up on folks, and was a struggle to keep under control on walks.After the four weeks, it’s like we have a different dog. Lucy is responsive to commands, much calmer, so much easier to walk, and we have no more concerns with her jumping up on people.Ann and her staff, especially Mariah, were wonderful communicators, calming our fears, and we could see Lucy liked them on our weekly visits.We highly recommend the D.O.G. training program. We have built a base with Lucy that makes us feel sure she will be a trustworthy dog we can be proud of for years to come.

Anne is very knowledgeable about all dogs! She and her team are patient and kind but all about training and practice with the pups. I took her basic puppy training class and it helped me with my very suborn terrier schnauzer mix puppy, Ollie. I’m grateful to Anne and her team for all of the support and help they provide. Anne and her team have helped me so much in learning how to help my German shepherd with his whining and helping me gain his attention through fun interactive classes ! The thing is that this is a training place to grow along side your dog ! Basic OB class really helped me gain a better understanding of my dog thanks to Annes knowledge and ability. After that I had even more opportunities to grow through trick dog and advanced obedience classes. Great instructors. Charlie went from a puppy that wouldnt listen to being a lot better behaved and he listens so much better than before. They train you how to train your dog.

We have a Lab/Boarder Collie/Pit mix.Trainers are awesome. They are helping us with our dog to socialize her. She is making great progress. We were so afraid that we had sheltered her and babied her to the point of her being aggressive towards others. But these trainers are showing us there is hope.Update: We just finished the training and we are well on our way to having a fully functioning animal that we can take into public without the fear of her tearing off after someone. We honestly thought she was too far gone, almost to the point of isolation or having her put down. But the trainers showed us it was possible to bring her around and show her were in charge but still have fun with her.Thank you so much for all your help and I hope if someone else who may have a similar situation will see this and realize there is hope!PRAISES!!!

I haven’t taken any of the classes yet! I am leaving a review on the first experience with this group and will update accordingly. I called several places for training of my new GSD 13 week old puppy. They were mostly canned responses that were meh at best. I need a support animal and have lots of questions. When I spoke to the young lady, forgot your name so sorry, she was amazing!! Spent 23 mins I think on the phone with her. I have bad anxiety, depression and social anxiety. She took the time to explain EVERYTHING she could in that time. Made me feel very comfortable and got me signed up for the late July class!!! So impressed so far, very excited to start. Will update after the class...I’m thinking it’s gonna be a great one :)))

D.O.G. of Jax is a great place to take your dog for training, especially if they have behavior issues. Anne is a great trainer who really knows how dogs minds work. She has over 30 years of experience, and it absolutely shows. The basic obedience classes are great for socialization, but private lessons are tailored to your lifestyle and more advanced commands you want your dog to learn. Board and trains are great for those who dont have the time or energy to learn to train their dogs. I highly recommend D.O.G. of Jax for all of your dog training needs!

Just brought my 14 wk old puppy home from a two week board and train. Thank you, Anne and staff for the great work you did with Thor! We are so impressed. In six short and enjoyable weeks, my two year old Australian Terrier was transformed from a rambunctious dog to a fairly well-trained (and getting better every day) slightly-less rambunctious dog. The ladies are very good at educating both dogs and owners. Classes were both very enjoyable and very informative.I highly recommend this to any dog owner.

I found D.O.G. Obedience Group of Jax about five months ago after being unsatisfied with the training of another professional. Ann Baxter and her trainers are wonderful. What a difference it has made! We are training using an ecollar and Ann worked with me by even putting the collar on my arm so I could feel what my dog was going to experience. There are all types of classes, including trick dog and rally. We even take our dogs to lunch!
