This Place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGI wish I would have found them sooner. Such AN INCREDIBLE stuff very attentive and sweet.Even tho they are busy they Do Not have a long wait time which is incredible.The doctor she was Amazing and the coolest I’ve met in a long time. Very helpful in my sickness and concerning with suggestive tips to helping me get over being sick.I Can’t say enough Amazing things about this office and how they handle patient care and time :).

I have been at this facility several times but after my visit today (10-22-21), I will not return. I was a walk-in at 10:52am. I sat in the waiting room until 11:20am. and watched a person walked in after me called to the back. I approached the desk to ask for explanation of why haven’t I been called yet. The receptionist said that they would check into it. I sat an additional 20 minutes and watched another person that walked in after me called back. I just got up and left.

Dr.Lovato was enlightening. Hes so comfortable to be with but the fact that i see more of the snippy, rude, impersonal staff when im there for anxiety and depression does not make the experience pleasurable. Sure i got in fast but i would much rather of felt like i was welcomed rather than a burden as im already there feeling like one.The lady at the front desk was the nicest although she seemed annoyed. The ones at check out were so rude i almost cried leaving. I really would love to make Dr.Lovato my primary but i honestly dont know about having to talk more through the rude staff than him.

Ive been here twice. Currently in a room with an IV in. This place is awesome. All the staff are super polite and professional. People are in and out taking care of me. I dont feel like Im waiting in a room forever before Im helped at all. I worked at another urgent care for a few months and star medical blows them out of the watee.

Last month I visited this office for the first time. Prior to visiting this office I went to two urgent centers who wasnt accepting any more patients. It was disappointing and early in the day, just a little after 2pm, Not being from the area I asked a worker at the urgent care center if there were any other urgent centers in the area and was given info for Star Med. I was also advised you werent accepting anyone else.I was so glad I called Star Med and Ms. Patricia answered the phone and was so welcoming. She advise you all were still accepting patients. Ms. Patricia was very professional.The wait was not long and I received great service here. Dr. Paula was so helpful, very thorough, and professional. Shanielle, Ary, and Kimberly was very helpful and nice too.Thank you all for your help and professionalism.The facility was very clean and I also like the informational kiosks in the rooms,Star Med will be my first choice out of the three offices in Jacksonville..

Late last week I brought in my 3 children for Covid testing. They brought us straight in, asked for symptoms, checked vitals, etc. Test was done & we were told when to expect our results. Results came back negative, thankfully! However, 2 of my 3 children were not getting better. I brought them back in this evening and despite them being busy and running around like crazy, EVERYONE from the front desk to the CNA and the NP were absolutely AMAZING! They listened to my children speak, they listened to all my concerns and stories from this stressful week and they provided treatment for not only my sick children but also my broken Mom heart. Thank y’all so much!!

They’re nice. However when it comes to getting tests done they will literally not test you for what you ask for. They have tested me for the same thing twice.I also had to wait over an hour to even get my test results/even see the doctor even after making an appointment.

So I was sent here from the VA clinic and was expecting really what I know which is the VA but it was exceptional they were kind friendly and really helpful.

This doesn’t start great, but stay tuned. It’s a good review. 8/16 I was tested for covid. I waited in my car for about an hour before a room was available. I felt bad and it sucked waiting in the car, and I did have to call them to remind them I was waiting in the car, but people …. we are in the middle of a pandemic! A lot of people are sick! People who are showing up to work, are working short staffed and long hours! Humans make mistakes! I tested positive and was called with results exactly when they said they’d call. It was difficult to get someone to actually email me the results, as I needed documentation for work, but I followed up with Kevin (who is responding to these reviews); he apologized and emailed me almost immediately. Again, I understand, people are busy. I work in a busy office and understand that some things are more important than others. The key to getting what you need…is politely following up. I’ve never once had a bad experience with anyone on the phone or in person here. They’re genuinely nice and helpful. They’re just busy. Anyway, 2 weeks later, I am not recovering from covid like I should. I went back yesterday. I was seen by Dr. Paula Johnson. During this visit I feel like every necessary step was taken. I was actually listened to. I was given proper medical attention. I was given IV fluids. Lab work was ran. A follow up appointment was scheduled for today. I went back today and, again, I was asked how I felt and listened to. Dr. Paula Johnson saw my oxygen levels were slightly low and she ran a chest X-ray. Low and behold, she found EARLY signs of covid pneumonia. I was provided a treatment plan (that I’m very happy with) and was told to call immediately if anything gets worse. And of course, I’m to follow up in a week. I feel like it’s very rare to have a physician actually LISTEN to you and hear your concerns. I am so thankful that this was detected before I had full blown pneumonia. Thank you to all the staff, the nurse who ran my IV, the one who drew blood, the one who took the X-ray, everyone was great and I appreciate you all!

I love how they listen and do not rush you out of the office. They really care about your opinion because you know your body better than we do~K.SI would recommend them to friends, family and anyone looking for medical care.Update: Thank you so much for calling me Mr.Kevin to let me know the phone lines were down. After I had a poor experience Kevin called me personally to understand what happened during my visit. He had me come back in and took care of me personally to ensure that I received care that was up to the standards I have and that he has. I am very glad that he did this for me as he did see something on the new x-rays that he took that they were not able to see on the other x-rays. Kevin made this experience much better than the previous experience that I had. He also explained everything to me very clearly in a way that I was able to understand. I would definitely trust Kevin with upcoming care that I need.

***Updated***I had a very upsetting and emotional experience here. However, the CEO, Kevin, called me and is taking steps to ensure no other patient has to experience the same. It meant a lot that he personally reached out and I truly believe he cares about his business and his patients. He reassured me that this would not happen again and I have the utmost respect for how he handles his facility.

First off I would like to thank Kevin the CEO he cares so much about his patients and you can tell. Thank you Kevin. DR Frank actually listened to me and knew exactly what I was going through and took it seriously. I have a TBI and issues that needed help and he provided me with a treatment plan to help I’m so thankful and blessed for this office, Dr Frank, and Kevin, and the medically assistant was just as amazing I must add. I can go to sleep tonight knowing I have a chance at better quality of life and getting back to my normal because of them. The world needs more doctors like Dr Frank, Kevin and the medically assistant( I’m so sorry I forgot her name) I can’t thank y’all enough for just listening and actually knowing and understanding what I’m going through. I highly recommend star medical I can’t wait to go back to see them first time I have ever felt that comfortable with a doctor and my TBI issues. Thank you all so very much!

Just wanted to publicly say that this CEO cares about his business. No clinic is perfect, but he cares and wants to improve. I will 100% consider using Star Medical in the future because he is leading his team by walking in front of them, not by pushing from the back.

EXCELLENT! I am an RN myself & had an acute back issue needing to get to a place close by as I was too uncomfortable to drive further. The entire waiting room and building were clean and efficiently set up. The staff were all polite and non judgemental. The patients were even helping me limp inside to a wheelchair and another picked up the clipboard when I dropped it on the floor.The nurse, provider, and Radiology tech were polite and very professional. All extremely patient when I cried and verbalized my sadness with not being able to walk without awful hip/back pain .Believe the provider/doc was named Seth and he was very kind and proactive. He even said he would call me directly once he got the full Radiologist report. Appreciate this local and professional facility!

Wait time for walk-ins is fairly decent, and I always get my appointment on time. However, if youre looking for a place to refer you to a higher doctor, surgeon, obgyn, or dentist, Id recommend wasting an entire day at a local hospital, instead of waiting months and months with no updates here. The doctors are friendly as well as the nurses, however I recommend if you want quick results and phone calls to update on referrals or labs to go somewhere else. Its been since 2020 Ive been waiting for a dentist referral thats supposedly been put in twice, and a prenatal appointment that I cant seem to get booked due to them forgetting. At least the medication wait time is usually less than 15 minutes.

I have lived in Jacksonville all my life and have been to many doctors over my lifetime and I must say, this clinic is hands down to best I have been to. From just the overall look of there medical clinic so big and clean , to them having a full pharmacy in there waiting room. The front desk staff were wonderful and caring. The nursing staff were very attune to my medical questions and truly listened to my concerns. The provider was awesome, very kind, smart and funny. My full visit was hands down the best treatment I have ever gotten from a medical clinic. I will be making star medical my new primary care clinic. Thank you staff at star medical for truly caring about me.

I walked in and was called back in about 45 minutes. Med assistant came in and did her questionsThen practitioner came in. Exam and diagnosis about 10 minutes. 3 prescriptions. The pharmacy was right there. One stop shop. Very convenient. Great office staff both Drs office and pharmacy. Being from out of state I didnt really know where to go but I am glad I chose this Dr office.

I found this place online back in January 2021. I had called every where I could think of, and noone could/would see me. I made a call and was in there within 20 mins.Today, I had the same issue. I couldnt even get anyone to even answer my calls. I then remembered this place, and gave them a call. The nice lady was quick to make an appt for my husband and myself. The entire staff is so kind.They spent plenty of time with us. I assure you that I wont forget about Star Med again. I will highly recommend yall to anyone. Thank you!

Waited way too long to be seen for a baby under one year. The doctor Rebecca gave me an attitude because I was mad about waiting. She asked me if there was some thing I had to say. They put my baby on the floor to weigh her they used a tape measure to take her height. My daughter has conjunctivitis she put her glove around her eye and stuck the same finger in her mouth two seconds later. Very disappointed with this visit and I’ve never been disappointed with the doctors visit for a baby I have three kids. She ended up prescribing her amoxicillin for her conjunctivitis when she should have prescribed her antibioticeyedrops.

Terrible experience this morning and just wasted my time! Thought COVID-19 vaccine was free turns out its $135.

I was in for a visit today. Kevin and his team was very courteous, but most of all professional. I was in and out with little wait time. The office was very clean and well organized. I will recommend this team to others!!Way to go guys!!

UPDATE: I am updating my review from 2 to 5 stars. I sincerely appreciate the CEO, Kevin, reaching out personally to resolve my issue/concerns. I am extremely satisfied with the prompt assistance provided. Thank you!Mediocre at best. Wait times for booked appointments are horrible...I’ve waited as long as 1.5 hours to see a provider, just for them to tell me they can’t help me/refer me to a speciality doctor (as a primary provider) because my insurance is with CHAMPVA. As a CHAMPVA beneficiary, I have the option of choosing providers to go to and CAN have non-VA providers as my primary care, so I’m unsure why I was told that. Also, it says “primary care” in Star Medical’s business name...but I digress.And don’t have high hopes on seeing the actual provider you booked your appointment with. I understand things happen, but if a patient booked an appointment with a specific provider who is likely someone they PREFER, please be professional and provide an explanation if another one is sent in their place.

I have used them as the source for VA urgent care and every time has been nothing short of what true medical care should be. The providers here are knowledgeable and work as a team when needed to ensure the best possible level of care. If prescriptions are needed, the pharmacists are knowledgeable and diligent in their work. If you are seeking urgent care, this is the place to go!

This is by far the best place I have been in town.I have taken my child there when most offices wouldnt even physically see children. All the staff from the front to the back is amazing! The front desk was very nice and speedy when it came to getting us back. The Nurses were so good and very sweet to my little one! they defiantly made the trip a lot easier. The provider was very knowledgeable and really listened to the complaints that I had about my child. The best part is I was in and out pretty quick!I will defiantly be bringing the rest of my child and family here.Thank You so much for all the care and making the visit a breeze!

Great medical clinic, hands down the best in town. I have been to many in town and by far this practice truly cares about its patients and there health. I set hear and read some post and really start laughing about what they state due to the fact it is far from the truth of how good star medical is. I am able to go in as a walk in or appointment and they always get me in. The staff are super friendly and caring. Please star keep up the great work.

My husband and I received our first COVID Vaccine on Friday, 2/26/21. They were efficient, kind, and the EMT Richard gave us our vaccine was AMAZING! He is a real asset to what your are doing in the community. Thank you for all that are working tirelessly to keep our community safe.

Front office staff are extremely rude and unprofessional. Not helpful whatsoever. The nurses and physicians are very good at what they do and are super helpful!

I visited Star Medical on Saturday, September 5, 2020. It being my first time and a Veteran I must admit I had my reservations. However, from the time I walked in, and signing in at the front desk on the appointed side. I was dealt with Friendliness, Courtesy, Professionalism, Genuine Concern and more. On a Saturday and being understaffed everyone I came in contact with was Awesome to say the least. The PA explained everything to me where I could understand what she was saying, (She was Phenomenal). The nurse who gave me the shot and xray tech...Wow! Right down to exiting out...She was wonderful as well. Everyones positive and uplifting attitude really blew me away. Kudos to You All! You All Made My First Visit An Outstanding One! If need be I would not hesitate to return. Thank You for The Phenomenal Service! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

Update: the ceo personally called me, and apologized, and reassured me that this problem was NOT okay. I’ve always got amazing care here, so I don’t believe it was a care issue. The doctors are amazing. It was an office issue that he will handling. It was very reassuring that the CEO personally called me after my review. I still suggest them for care, and still see this office as a great facility. Every business has flaws, but he seemed like he genuinely cared and wouldn’t allow this to happen again.I personally love my doctor here, Frank always listens to my questions and concerns and handles them. However. I was literally going blind in my eye, their referral lady, Laura called me YESTERDAY. TWO months later. However, I had already reported them to my insurance. And had another clinic take care of it.This was a time sensitive case, Frank even said it was an emergency referral and the office itself put it on the back burner.Luckily, I got to see a specialist, and now receiving eye treatment. With no help from Stars Medical.Don’t go here if you have any urgent concern, regular care is fine. But waiting on referrals, to even be requested is ridiculous. My insurance got calls from me every day. I also called the clinic every day for TWO weeks, before giving up.

My experiences were great overall up until having to call yesterday to make an appointment. The lady I spoke with mumbled, sounded like she was sleeping and wasnt professional at all. Im not going to base my entire experience on this one thing, but if I have to deal with her again I likely wont be so kind.

Its a battle to get prescriptions refilled every month. Ive NEVER been able to get a prescription with less than 5 phone calls. They do not respond to pharmacy faxes at all. Each time Ive needed a prescription renewed Ive gone 3 to 7 days with no medication. I asked to speak to the CEO once because this habit of allowing patients to go days with no medication regularly could be dangerous. He only attempted to placate my concerns. Going without blood pressure meds for days just leads to a bad headache but what about patients on insulin or blood thinners or anti-depressants? Some patients health could be seriously endangered by miscommunication and unreasonable delays. Its not only prescriptions that take longer than at other practices. My stat referral took 5 weeks. Same with sending records anywhere or getting test results. Most of the PAs are very courteous but either theyre overloaded with work and cant keep up or have no support staff.

My husband has been failed and provided poor healthcare at this facility. If you care for your loved ones and their health don’t take them here. I loved this place until Seth Jaussen was supposed to be my husband provider. Poor poor poor reflection of what true healthcare is supposed to be. He should be ashamed and disappointed in himself and his incompetency.

Great medical care here. Ms Rebecca my provider was wonderful and the staff are great. I was able to get in and out pretty quickly and you can tell they truly care. I will be coming hear form now on. Thank you guys for taking care of me and my son today. Keep up the great work.

I did not have a good experience overall. Dr. Regina took the necessary time to review my case, and was very helpful. However, at check out I was billed even after questioning the girl multiple times as I shouldnt have been billed. I was able to resolve the matter with the billing department. Prescriptions were sent to wrong pharmacy. Wait time for my scheduled appt was aprx 45 minutes after said appointment.

Please save your time, money, and health. Go anywhere else in Jacksonville. Masks sparse between employees and patients. Wait times are always astronomical. You cant get test results over the phone (security, ok fine) but their patient portal is down and has been for quite some time. You can get a copy at no cost, but they refuse to just read your results without an exam/triage. MAYBE WAIT TIMES WOULD BE LESS IF PEOPLE WHO DIDNT NEED TRIAGE WERE NOT GIVEN IT. No, I dont want to pay my copay again for the second set of results (which almost didnt include the 1 reason for the test, had to ask day of draw only to find out they hadnt labeled it for thyroid). I was told by one of the nurses I cant have my results read without an exam and I could get a copy up front. When I explained that I would do that if I were trained in the medical field, she agreed and said I could wait for triage or leave. I left.An hour of waiting in either their germ infested waiting room (because nothing is disinfected and half of people arent wearing masks) for nothing.To SM directly, you have a duty to the public to enforce the state mask mandate both among your employees and patients. You know better than most that there is no medical reason someone couldnt wear a mask. Stop taking walk ins before appointments. Fix your portal or let people have results explained over the phone. Dont force unnecessary examination upon people that arent medically necessary or other people will report you to their insurance like I am.

Patient Beware!!As a concerned husband I have to say the ability for this establishment to provide quality care is lacking.For starters my wife has been seen for a problem for 10 months to bad they never knew what it was but did run pointless tests just to charge the insurance company more. When you call to ask test results, they say you have to have an appointment. You make one to find out your tests results aren’t back. Couldn’t that have been told over the phone? But again, a waisted charge both to me and my insurance company sounds like fraud, right?When they did finally send her out for a consultation, they never sent what they were being sent for or any tests results. Causing even more of a delay.Prescriptions this place doesn’t do refills you have to make an appointment to just get refills I understand this for certain drugs but not everything again another waste of money being build to insurance companies.Don’t even try to call in for a prescription refill you will wait a week last one my wife called in when I went to pick it up, they never sent it to the pharmacy. When she called about it, they said it takes two days for the doctor to send prescriptions (which is a joke). My wife explained its been two days well guess what no refill yet day three. I would hate for this to happen to someone who could have serious medical problems without there medicine this place.Nothing against the PA’s that work there the good ones all left and this place has an extreme turn over of employees. That’s the excuse you get when you call asking why haven’t my consultation been put 3 weeks later.One in particular PA well he is rude and talks down to patients he forgot what his job is.Never have seen a doctor once always a PA. Wife is finally seeing a surgeon to bad the surgeon had no tests sent from this clinic or any other consultations. They send nothing this place is nothing more than a headache.

I have been in the Jacksonville area most of my life and have been to many medical clinics. I started to come to star medical clinic over 2 years now and I have to say they have truly cared for me as if I was part of there family. I have a lot of medical conduction which most other medical office write me off and say they can not handle them all but Star medical clinic even from my first visit took the time to listen and to review my chart from other providers and set up a game plan to help set up a treatment plan for all my medical problems. I thank GOD every day for Star Medical Clinic and the staff they have here . Without them I would like be here today . I truly thank you all at star medical clinic for all you do and for what you have to deal with. People can be mean and rude I have seen it but you guys keep trying to help and be there for each patient. I truly thank you all for being there for me . This place is awesome. Hands down the best medical care anywhere. .

Been to Star Medical a couple of times in the past year. They treat you great. Good staff. I will be going back if I need.

I have never had an issue with Star medical. Have seen great physicians, however when it came to a medical emergency with my daughter swelling of her head. The new physician Jessica raised her voice and yelled at me was very mean in front of my daughter. I was not pleased with her actions. I bring her to star medical for a reason. I am a single mother and work my a$$ off to provide for my daughter. My only child!! Y’all are open Saturday when I am scheduled off... no you are not a pediatrician however I was told you accept all ages and her and I are typically seen at the same time. The conduct of this physician and lack of concern was not acceptable.....my daughter head is swelling what parent would not be upset and not to mention she can not see out of one eye. We are currently at the hospital trying to figure out what is going on and why my daughter eye is bulging out from swelling.

I would Like to give a big THANK YOU to all the staff of Star Medical Clinic. This clinic is wonderful and all the staff that work there are great. They truly care and treat you with respect. I will be making this clinic my new PCM.

The staff here is great !! From the front desk all the way to providers, i feel so welcomed! It’s constantly busy when I go but i just love that the front desk checks us in gets us seen and nurses make it all go smooth.. in like 30 minutes !! . I LOVE STAR MEDICAL

Such a PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. The doctor I saw, the staff and the pharmacist were genuinely kind. Been to many quick cares and this is by far the nicest one Ive ever been to. Will definitely go back and refer my family and friends.

I must say that I have been to star medical clinic many times and not once have I ever been treated by anyone at that office rudely. All the staff have always been very kind and caring. But I have witnessed so patients being very rude and disrespect but yet the staff continued to be caring and tried there best to help them. So I find it very funny peopke come on here and say negative things. But to each is there own. All I can say is I have been going to star medical for almost 2 years and never had any staff member be rude or give me Attitude to anyone even if i felt they deserved it. So I hope anyone reading post will truky read mine and you will find this clinic and the staff there are amazing.

Thank you!I am honestly appalled by the way this place handled my wife as a patient today! I am not the type to usually leave a bad review, but the treatment was absolutely horrendous. We have brought our daughter here before, and no it wasn’t THE best but nothing compared to today. I understand covid has our health care givers running ragged, I truly do. However, when this is the ONLY urgent care covered by the VA for our veterans, I expect some sort of treatment. She left without a diagnosis today. They were out of smaller needles for IVs which, again I understand (I worked the medical field myself a few years ago I know things happen). Using the larger needle they had, her vien was blown, common, fine. But to leave it bleed, shocked, and telling the patient they need to just stay calm and grabbing their arm to stay still. Eh not so much. After giving them the symptoms of what was happening, automatically assume it was covid, it wasn’t. Or that it is food poisoning, after being asked if anything new had been eaten, it hadn’t seeing as we cook at home. I was sitting in the car with our toddler so there was less people inside, after being told she wasn’t tested for the flu or covid I called the front desk and was told they would finally give a flu test. I was then notified by my wife that they had no flu tests, and finally DID do a covid rapid test which was negative. They then said, well then it must be a bowel obstruction, again no testing done to confirm nor deny. And then wrapped it up to oh it’s probably just a bug. Now, I will say she refused another IV attempt simply due to the fact of how the previous time went, I don’t blame her. She was simply sent home with a medicine for vomiting. I’ll also add when she had asked for a flu test before I called she was basically giggled at and left in the room, that’s what urged me to call the desk, because it was absolutely unprofessional how she was being treated. We didn’t wish to go to the hospital due to covid and knowing beds are limited recently, but I suppose that’s the best option next time she can’t get into the VA directly.

Did not have a good experience at all. Since it wont let me delete my original review, Im updating to say that I was quickly contacted by the CEO of the company within minutes after i posted my review. I explained what happened and he settled everything with me while I was on the phone with him, making calls and made sure my childrens prescription was sent in and accepted right then and there. Not happy with my over all experience but very impressed with how he dealt with it very professionally and quick. I suggest anyone who has any problems, he will immediatly tske care of you! Thanks again Kevin!

I dont normal post on line but i must say this clinic is great. I have been coming to this clinic for 2 years now and not once have I ever had a problem. The staff are wonder snd caring. This office is one of the cleanest offices I have seen in this area. Its sad that while we are going though this health pandemic and this clinic has been on the front lines here and open to help us as patients and to have patients come on hear and stating false claims sad very sad. Please read my post this place is wonderful and truly cares about each patient. For all who dont have anything good to say please go find another medical office its that simple. I will be honest! I had a not so nice review even though it was truthful! No matter its validity I’m sure it’s something that is changeable! Still I had to change my review because it’s well deserving! It was completely necessary to give credit to the CEO, Kevin. The staff should’ve been proficient. We are human and make mistakes! If you make a mistake, it’s what you do after that’s meaningful! I read some of the reviews and recognized that Kevin is not only the CEO, he is the heart of his organization! He backs up his staff 💯 percent! That’s what a good leader does! He also recognizes and accepts accountability! It’s not every day you have a CEO that has your back! In all my 20 years experience, whether I’m the employee or client, have I EVER experienced anyone like Kevin! I hope your staff is appreciative of you Kevin! They don’t see if they were working anywhere else the turn out and working experience could be devastating and unremarkable! Don’t take advantage of Kevin, he totally has y’all back! He also is greatly affected by y’all actions! Just that little conversation, I can tell he’s a person I would want as my employer and take a few tips from. This medical clinic is by far the best in town. I have been living in this area for over 10 years and have always had a hard time finding a medical doctor that would listen to me and just let me explain what is going on with my health. I was so blown away by how all the staff at this office from the time I signed in to the time I left how caring they all were. The provider I saw was very sweet and caring and I truly felt they heard me and wantex to get to the bottom of what was going on with me. And gues what they did. After 10 + plus years I finally have a diagnosis. In three visit to star they were able to listen to me , get my records from my other providers, review them and order there own test and I know have a diagnosis. I am finally feeling better and each day getting better. Thank you guys so much for taking care of me. I have made them my new PCM. And will highly recommend them to anyone.

I went in for a severe headache 10 minutes before my appointment time and waited 40 minutes to be seen. No one was wearing a mask, nothing was being wiped down. The TVs were too loud showing religious tv while my head is pounding. The lady behind the counter was rude. The nurse who took me back was extremely unprofessional- opening doors to see if patients were inside exam rooms- quick turn around with the doctor- only good part about my visit. Then the nurse talked about inappropriate personal things while getting my blood drawn. Then they forgot to submit my prescription- nothing was URGENT about my medical care. So not really sure what the hell they did for me besides waste my time and my money. Wish I had gone somewhere else. I won’t be going back except to get my test results, because I don’t have the strength to wait for new ones elsewhere while I’m in pain.

Was their 3rd patient to be seen when they were on country club over 3 years ago and have been with them since!!! Frank is AWAZING!!! And ALWAYS wonderful to see KEVINS happy chirpy smiling face when i come!!! Highly recommended!!!! So very proud of this establishment and how far they have came for our community ❤

Honestly I didn’t feel welcomed when I went, the nurse who brought me to the room was rude, she was slamming doors and was acting like she didn’t want to be there, (I understand that work is stressful but working in the healthcare field You can’t act like you don’t care, you have to make the patients feel welcomed) then most of the staff act like they don’t know how to say welcome and thank you. They can do better there.

I’ve been going here for almost four years. They treat us like family here. Best medical clinic I have EVER been to.

I had an appt and arrived 15 mins early for paperwork, waited almost 10 minutes before someone was at the front window, waited just under an hour past my appt time without ever seeing a provider before finally leaving. Im not sure if it was poor scheduling and staffing or if this is the norm but I switched PCMs upon leaving.

This place is amazing! My baby was sick and I took him to the Memorial! Terrible mistake! I took him to the Star and they confirmed my suspecting: pneumonia!The doctors are amazing as well the entire staff! We are so grateful for these place!

I FINALLY found a GREAT place to be seen!! I had a great experience and I am very happy with all the care I received with week!

I thought they were great when they were at other location. Now since they got bigger the level of service is lacking. I made an appointment with Dr Frank on Saturday. I got there. Dr. Frank was not in.I asked why they confirmed the appointment with me if he wasnt going to there. They said 2 others could help. Allison used to be my doctor but I dontKnow what happened to her. I have a few health issues and want to stay with one doctor but feel that this now is the wrong place to get that service.

I was not happy with there service at all! The front desk woman where wonderful! Yet after being taken back it went way down hill! I took my test and then was sent back to my exam room where I waited over a hour and thirty minutes to where I personally opened the door and asked “how much longer till I was seen?” After five minutes of this lady running around she found someone to come to my room and try to figure out what had happened! Still wasn’t give a for sure answer besides “oh we thought someone had already been in here” was told the issue then was told they send my prescription to the pharmacy! I arrived at the pharmacy a hour and half later to find out they never sent it and had to call Star medical personality to get my prescription sent over after being put on hold for 5 minutes! Needless to say after my follow up appointment I will be changing my PCM immediately! If I could give them zero stars for organization I would!

This was my first time at Star Medical and I was sent there today from my work due to a injury. It is a very nice facility and it was busy but I have to say the staff front the front desk ladies to the medical staff were great. They worked me in due to being a walkin and i got back and got the medical care i needed. Hands down the best medical clinic I have been to in Jacksonville. I have to give credit to the people in the medical field who do there best to keep wait times down and still give great care.

Excellent provider. It was the first time I was seen by her. I go in routinely once a month for my bloodwork and refills. I have never had an issue. Today I didnt have a wait either.

Wonderful care from all the providers whenever we visit this clinic. We have known Dr. Frank from the times he worked with our previous family doctor who is now retired. Just prior to our previous doctors clinic closing I searched out Dr. Frank (last name Lovato) because my wife and I were as comfortable with him as we had been with our previous physician. When we found him at the Star Medical Clinic and we transferred all of our records there so we could continue our familys care with someone we truly trusted. I must admit I do know know all of the providers at the clinic but we have seen 3 or 4 others in addition to Dr. Frank and have been very pleased with the level of care we have received. If you wish to establish a good foundational level of care for the long term for yourself or your family I would highly recommend the Star Medical Clinic. I also want to add we know Kevin who is the CEO of Star Medical Clinic from his past stint of employment at our previous doctors practice. I can say that he is very dedicated to providing the highest level of care to the people who choose the Star Medical Clinic.

Disabled Veteran, service-related. This clinic provides more consideration than what Ive received through the VA. Many dismissive and indifferent minds at the VA. The staff at Star seem to carry less assumptions and subjective theories than those at the VA. Government folks seem to relish in their authority. Question it.

I have to say I came to this clinic today due to not feeling well and I was truly blown away on how caring they are. From the time I walked into the clinic and filled out my paper work they got me back and got me on a breathing treatment. I was having trouble breathing and after the breathing treatment and the shot they gave me I left there feeling 80 % better. Thank you all at start medical clinic for caring about me and getting me on the way to feeling better.

WOW is all I can say. Thanks to Star Medical Clinic I am breathing so much better. I came in Tuesday due to not feeling well and having sob and wheezing for a few days. I did not realize how sick I was until i got in my car and got half way into town. I lucky got to there office and once I walked in the door I guess from the way I looked a young guy who I find out later is the CEO of the company runs out into the waiting room and ask if I am ok. When I was not really able to answer him , he got me right back into a room and got my vitals , hx etc and they got me started on a breathing treatment. Come to find out i had pneumonia. Thank you star medical for being there for me today. From the time I walked in the door until the time I checked out every staff member was so helpful and kind. Thank you all.

This place has gone downhill since they moved locations.Dr. Frank has managed to misdiagnose me twice now and I had to see two other doctors in order for them to stop brushing me off with asthma or allergies (despite both of those tests coming back normal) and finally dig deeper to realize I had metabolic acidosis. I enjoyed my third doctor until I learned that it’s been almost a month and she still hasn’t finished the paperwork to get a referral done for a pulmonologist and a biopsy for an abnormal breast tumor.

My daughter appointment was at :4:45 it is now 6:30 an still no nurse or doctor they are usually on time this is Absolutely the worst visit!!!!!!!!!!!

Good clinic, the nurses I had were very nice. The only issue I experienced is some receptionists aren’t very personable, but after talking with the CEO hopefully it improves. I’ve been here twice and both practitioners I saw were kind and helpful! They were also very quick and efficient with my appointment.

I would like to sincerely say thank you to Frank and Kevin for providing such good care to my elderly parents. I would especially like to thank them for coming to our house and for getting on the phone when we need them to to answer all the questions and deal with my elderly parents many health problems.

What can I say about Star Medical clinic. Hum well simply this place saved my life. I and not been feeling well for a few days and started to get worse so I went to my normal pcm in town who just said its just a cold, go home and rest which I did. But about 4 hours later my family had to call 911 and they took me to the er where i set for 11 + hours and they really never did anything. I got so mad I walked out. My daughter who was with me ar the time said mom go to my doctors at Star Medical if anyone can find out whats wrong it will be them. So I showed up to there office as a walkin and it was busy but as soon as there CEO who happen to be at the front desk talking tonhis staff saw me and how I was breathing jumped up and toom me right back. They did not even have me register or know if I had insurance they just saw that I needed help and jumped to get it for me. After they did my vitals and medical history they got Mr. Frank one of tve providers to see me. Now mine you the CEO of the company is still in my room doing my vitals and helping with my exam. After Mr.Frank did his exam he ordered a simple xray and cbc and guess what my cbc was very high and xray showed I had server pneumonia. They got me hooked up to Iv fluids and breathing treatments as I thought the ER would have done but didnt. They truly cared about me and made sure my health was there number one concern. I felt better after treatment the first day and f/u with them the next 3 days. It is now day 5 and I feel 97% better. They even called me each day at home to check on me. Hands down this medical clinic and the staff there are angels 😇. Thank you so much for what you did for me. I will forever be thankful. I will be making this clinic my new doctors office.

This reply is typical of a practice that takes no responsibility for anything and is run by nurses, not doctors.Update: upon further research, I have learned that Frank Lovato has faced disciplinary action from the NC Medical board for improproperly prescribing anabolic steroids. Star is probably the only place that would hire someone like that. Photos added and you can find this info on the ncmedboard website. Many orher complaints there for Frank and others at this place, too.Original review: Totally incompetent. There is no reason it should take NINE WEEKS to get a referral for a large breast lump and swollen armpit lymph nodes. There is no reason it should take 4 DAYS to send a prescription to the pharmacy that sits in your lobby. There is no reason it should take 2.5 HOURS to be seen when you have an appointment.They were quick to bill my insurance and charge my copay, but everything else here is painfully slow.

The staff and Drs are always nice and knowledgeable but every time I need my monthly refill it always seems to be a hassle getting the correct dosage called in to my pharmacy. I had finally found a great provider there (Bill) who was able to always get it correct. ( He always took time with me to fully understand my condition during my visits ) I always seem to see different Drs and with my Type 1 Diabetes and Seizures I wish I could just stick to one provider so I dont have to explain each time. The wait time isnt bad at all.

My wife has been seen here several times. She absolutely loves her primary provider Regina. However, when my wife calls for test results or has a question for her provider, they are trying to schedule and charge her for a televisit. She has done multiple televisits that literally last a minute. And then we are being charged a copay each time. It has been 7 weeks and my wife is having trouble breathing. Regina is taking steps to figure out what the underlining issue is, but this facility is just trying to line the pockets rather than be concerned about her well being. I was in the military and have seen a multitude of doctors and medical staff. Even after getting out of the military, I have seen my fair share of medical personnel. NEVER have I seen a facility so fixated on trying to make money over a question for a provider or getting results. They literally told her that she need to schedule an appointment to get test results. I am very appalled by the lack of concern of the well being of the patient. We asked if there was a patient portal so that we would be able to see the results and contact if we had further questions. They told us we do but we can’t keep up with it so.... I understand this is a business but I’m sorry to say but this can not be a good medical facility if money is the #1 goal.

This place was just my urgent care but I loved it so much it became my primary care. You don’t have to schedule an appointment, just walk in. I have yet to wait more than 20 minutes, even on a busy day! They are fast and efficient and even have a pharmacy on site!! They moved to their new location about 2 months again is definitely a huge upgrade from where they were before! Would recommend 100000%!

Today 6/2/2020. I came in to the office feeling like the info I wrote below. But Thank God the Dr. I seen today has changed my opinion about Star MedicalI am a diabetic with high blood pressure. I been coming to this office since I moved here from Charlotte NC. The first visit was great!!! After that staff is not friendly. It seems like no one know what they are doing if you need to get things done you have to hold their hands. And the thing that gets me is this is one of the highest rated office in Jacksonville NC. That is very scary to me.

So obviously we spend more time now a days making sure we review places or things we are no satisfied with and little to no time when something good happens. So let’s get “the bad” out. Wait times even with an appointment can be longer than anyone cares to wait for. You can either take into account that they also do walk-ins to try and help EVERYONE that needs assistance, or just be upset that you set an appointment two days ago and the person who woke up this morning with difficulty breathing isn’t as important as you and your scheduled appointment. Now that we’ve addressed that I’d like to highlight one member of the staff specifically. Mrs. Mitchell is one of if not the best person working here. She doesn’t just feed you medications on what might be wrong she actually works with you and cares what’s wrong. I had her seen her twice randomly and now when give. The option I only see her. Mrs. Mitchell thank you for your care!!

Was considering leaving this practice after several issues which made me feel no one here cared about their patients. But once the CEO Kevin was made aware of the problems he reached out to me and assured me he was personally handling the situation. I’m confident my experiences moving forward will be much better

I can in two weeks earlier to get done my results and I was told theyll call after a week no one bothered to call me until I called two weeks later for follow up... And I had for two hours to get the results when I came.. I was even sick I thought it could be quicker cause it was just a mere paperwork. I just didnt like the services I got.

The staff at Star Medical are first-rate. From Amanda and Q at the receptionist desk to Kevin in administrative they are all efficient and so friendly. The PAs are excellent - always answer my questions and take their time to make sure all of my needs and concerns are met. I highly recommend Star Medical!

I absolutely love this doctors office. I love the staff and the service, and that was before I started working there and I love it even more now that I do. Its so great.

UPDATE: Kevin promptly responded to my review and was so kind and compassionate about my problem. I definitely will be here if I ever need urgent care again. I have never been so disgusted with a clinic before in my entire life.I came in needing care and was extremely sick I ended up going to the hospital which was needed but ,what happened in my opinion at this establishment was completely unacceptable. My mom is a doctor and I was a paramedic for years and I’ve never seen such a highly reviewed clinic so disorganized & seeing so many inexperienced people in one place. All they want is your money they don’t care about your problems. I explained to whoever was helping me that I was able to pay my deductible I was just getting the money transferred into my account I needed care and I was miserable but they would not help me until I gave them that money. Prior to this once I walked in I sat and waited and was greeted by nobody, then took another 20 minutes to even ask if I have been here before, asked for insurance then gave me papers and left, diddnt ask my symptoms or vials nothing. RUN. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE MONEY!!!! Maybe it’s time to reevaluate your employees.

One time I came here and got treated fine, the next the receptionist had the worst attitude and was super impatient. Highly disappointed with that, but the doctors actually care...Updated: Right after this post, the CEO personally came to me and talked to me (I was still getting seen) he very sincerely apologized and made sure I was taken care of. The nurses and doctor were all very nice as usual. I appreciate the effort to make sure patients get the best and fastest care!

Save your time. Don’t go to this place. I went in a month ago on a Saturday, and I had my insurance cards. My insurance was closed on Saturday, so I had to pay full price, no big deal. I was told the lady would call on Monday and talk to my insurance. Wonderful. A week passes by, nothing. So I call on the Friday, and ask of the status of my refund. They inform me the lady hasn’t called my insurance yet. Ok, cool. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Call again the following Monday, still hasn’t called. Called again on that Friday, and she says “after we get off the phone, I’ll call.”... after a full week of not hearing anything, I call to check the status of my refund, if they’re sending it in the mail, if I have to go in, whatever works. The lady tells me she will forward my message on to the CEO. I expect to get a call. The week comes and goes, and I hear nothing. I call again this week, on Monday. They tell me they’ll leave a message for the ceo to call me. It is now Friday, and I haven’t heard anything. I called this morning at 8 am, and someone told me she will check on the status, and call me back. It’s now 4, and I have yet to hear from them. They just flat out don’t care. Extremely unprofessional. Will never come here again.Edit: Kevin, the CEO called. He made things right. He was able to own up to the mistakes that his employees made. Were all human, and at the end of the day it was handled in a professional way.

Walk-ins are always quick and easy. Service is top notch. They provide great pricing for those like me that are self-insured and dont try to rip me off like other places. Making an appointment is quick and I am seen pretty much right away. No more making an appointment for 11 am and not being seen until 1... those days are over with this place!!!

It’s been 3 weeks since my appt. and they still haven’t sent my referral to OBGYN. I was told at my appt that it would only take a week to two weeks before it would all be taken care of and I’d hear from who they had referred me to. I called Star almost every day last week and was told that it was my insurances fault. I called insurance multiple times and checked my portal and there had never been a referral sent to begin with. They finally admitted they hadn’t even sent it yet. 3 WEEKS LATER. I even called and explained that I was having complications and needed to try and get things going. Just kept getting told someone would call me and never heard back. Finally my husband called today and was given the same run around. We called insurance today and changed my PCP. I am confident I’ll be seen and get a whole new referral sent in half the time it’s taken this clinic to get their stuff together. I will never be returning to them.Edit to add: I did speak to my insurance TODAY. When I first got insurance I had another PCM and transferred to Starr because I preferred them. Therefore at the time of this post, Starr WAS my PCP. After the constant run around to have my referral sent, I have since changed my PCP to a different provider which is why insurance does not show me having Starr and why your records do not show Starr as my PCP. I’d like to add ALL the calls I got from starr trying to contact me about this issue have been after my review and after I had already changed my PCP. I never received a call back trying to solve this issue prior to my review which makes me feel as though the only reason it was ever looked into was because of the review. I also do not appreciate being called untruthful by a “CEO”. Thank you for looking into my case. I appreciate it and will continue my needs with my new provider.

The female doctor is amazing and things move very smooth with her. Shes the only reason I keep coming here. Unfortunately the male doctor holds up everyone. Expect to wait in a room for at least and hour if hes working. Last time I was here I was in the back waiting for almost 2 hours before I got seen and when I was seen he wouldnt stop talking about random things not concerning the reason for the visit. Today Ive been waiting over an hour and a half AGAIN, while I can hear him talking to other patients about random things. Its infuriating. For someone to be so Ill they have to go to urgant care, you might as well go to the ER. They will probably have the same waiting Time but at least there you get a bed and blankets.*update* I was called by the CO of the company and that is a first! They were incredibly helpful and understanding and the issue should be resolved very quickly! 100% go here and see Jessica. Shes by far one of the best doctors Ive ever had which is why I keep going back. This company actually cares for peopl not just the money and after talking with the CO I wont be going anywhere else! I came here because of the good reviews, and Im glad I did. All of the staff are wonderful. They made me feel like they genuinely cared about my situation, and they made sure I was informed about every step that was taken before it was put into action.

My first time here was last Saturday 11/6/2018. I knew that they took walk-ins and I knew going to a walk-in clinic on a Saturday it had the possibility to be a good wait. When I walked in I was immediately greeted and was given the first timer paperwork. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Im a newer Onslow County employee and didnt have my new insurance cards but the gentleman working the window didnt hesitate looking me up in the system. I had about 6 people in front of me, like I said I knew what I was getting into being a walk-in. With only one PA on duty for a Saturday I was very surprised how fast she was able to get through everyone that was there. She was very friendly and even though very busy took the time she needed with me before moving onto the next person. I enjoyed my first visit and being a county employee I dont mind going back. Thank You guys!!

The owner of star medical called me today. He was very upset amd took my concerns seriously. Turns out he was out of town due to a family issue. He has reassured me that steps will be taken to remedy my complaints. Tha k you sir for your help.

Hands down the best Urgent Care/Family Practice in Jacksonville. I have been seeing Frank for years and send everybody I know here because they always listen to me and I legit feel like they care about my health. It’s well managed by their CEO Kevin and my waits are always short, even when I walk in. Their new office is beautiful and welcoming and the pharmacy in the waiting room is great. This place was the first to find my dad’s cancer, they liased with other medical companies to help us get him home care, they called us to check on him, and even visited him in the hospital. No other practice has ever gone above and beyond to take care of me and my family. Thank you Star Medical!
