November, 2020If you are searching for a Guardian ad Litem for your child, I strongly caution you in regards to acquiring Tina Mayer. She was the volunteer GAL for my grandson in a case that was not Dependency/CASA but agreed upon by both parties. I am aware that she now has partnership in The Resolution Center which offers GAL services. This information compels me morally to caution others seeking her as a GAL, due to our experience with her. The Judge found her testimony NOT credible and dismissed her because her testimony was in direct conflict with 1 court appointed expert (psychologist) and multiple other therapists. St. Johns Court and Judge were very just and fair, and we have absolutely no complaint there. My concerns/review are relative to our experience with Tina Mayers behaviors. Although we have had no interaction with the Resolution Center we have had interactions with Tina Mayer. This poses serious concerns in my opinion because Ms. Mayer does offer GAL services through the Resolution Center.Truth be known I have never posted a negative review however, the actions and inactions by Ms. Mayer in my grandsons case, compel me to warn others. She did come across as professional at the start however, her report left out significant pertinent information about documented domestic abuse by the father which the Judge had directed her to investigate, yet there was no mention of this history (past and present) in her report. In fact, he (my grandson) reported to us more than once that he was tricked by her. My grandson and a witness reported that Ms. Mayer physically removed him from the car at an exchange against his will, threatened to call the police if he didnt get out of the car. Additionally it appeared Ms. Mayer was involved in procuring a prescription by utilizing her VGAL powers to contact a physician that my grandson no longer went to. The pharmacy reported the woman picking the prescription up identified herself as the gramma. Guardian ad Litems yield a lot of power and control and we put our trust in them that they will use it for the childs well being and not the well being of one parent over the other. There are many good hearted, unbiased professionals working for the children. I am grateful there are such advocates. In my opinion Tina Mayer is not one of them and demonstrated that throughout her investigation. If you are looking for a GAL that follows through with the Judges directives for investigation, and reports back to the court as the childs voice, and makes recommendations in and for the BEST interest of the child, then I would strongly urge you to search further.New information of ongoing unethical behavior was recently discovered as a letter was circulated in the school and healthcare providers for my grandson by the father. This letter dated one year post trial was addressed to the Magistrate (not even the original Judge involved) and appeared to be authored by Ms. Mayer. We believe it was used in efforts to circumnavigate the Judicial system. The father knew of this letter but the mother had no knowledge of it until recently. My daughter and grandson had no contact with Tina Mayer since trial judgment. The father did. We found in this report false and libelous statements about my daughter and grandson. To date it appears she is still involved with the Father in this case even though her testimony was discredited and she was officially off the case in 2017. I sincerely and responsibly submit my review with the hope and encouragement that you find someone who is unbiased, honest, fair and thorough as the voice for your child should be.Mary Williams
