Rude receptionist. I could not find the place initially and was going to be a few minutes late. They said that I would need to reschedule. The appointment was still 20 minutes away. Over scheduling is definitely an issue. I will find another provider for my child. I guess overuse of social media has made some individuals less capable of simply being nice.

The doctor herself is great to talk to. But I wanted my son to have therapy which should have been every other week. They do not have enough appointments available and would only give him an appointment once every three months. Also you can call and call and call and leave voicemails and no one will ever answer or get back to you

Called to cancel an appointment 2 weeks before my appointment (I was going on vacation so I knew I was going to be gone, I also discussed it with my provider at my last appointment) they charge for no shows if you dont cancel 24 hours prior to your appointment which is why I made sure to call in advance, well they decided not to make a note of it, now they are still trying to charge me for not coming to the appointment. I had my first appointment one week ago. One of the medications ordered isn’t covered by my insurance. The pharmacy contacted CCNC on Wednesday August 11, 2021. Today is Tuesday August 17, 2021. I have been calling CCNC since Friday. My calls are not returned and here I sit with no medication after a week. I kept calling until someone at the front desk answered, this morning at 8:30. I was advised that the office manager spoke to the nursing supervisor and I will receive a call ASAP. It is 4:45, I just called again and was told someone will call me. This is unbelievable, that a psychiatric facility is actually causing me this much anxiety! All I want is a simply prescription change from an extended release form of medication to regular release so my insurance will pay for it. If CCNC had sent my insurance a request for prior authorization last Wednesday, they may have approved the medication. Instead, CCNC nurses have just totally ignored me!!!Going to CCNC was a huge mistake! I paid them to dramatically increase my anxiety!!!

I had a appointment at CCNC on May 21st. They had called my dad the day before my appointment and told him to come in early so he can fill out my paperwork. We go there at 10:30 which is the time we were suppose to be there. After he turned in my paperwork we sat there for like 20 minutes. They then called my dad up to the front desk and told him that I am going to have to reschedule my appointment because he turned in the paperwork at 11:02 and my appointment was at 11:00 but they could have called me back the whole time I was sitting there. They also said that I couldn’t have my appointment because Friday was there half day but they are the ones that made my appointment at 11:00 am. And to make it even worse my appointment is two months away. The ladies at the front desk are also very rude especially the supervisor. They also did not tell my dad that he had a 30 minute time limit on the paper work.

The wait time for appointments is ridiculous. They have more patients than they have providers available to provide services which leaves you waiting months at a time for follow ups. I changed my office visits over to Tele- Health visits last year when CCNC started Tele- Heath visits last year during Coronavirus Pandemic and I am still doing my visits by Tele-Health. I am so glad this is a option especially since Coronavirus cases are on the rise again and also because of all the people that have not received the vaccine yet because these people continue to believe all the misinformation, rumors and especially the rumor that the Coronavirus is a Government conspiracy. But anyway, I either see Dr.Kahler or Dr. Feinold and they both are great Psychiatrists that listen.well and they ask my input when they think my medications need adjusting or changing. They both have rest helped me deal with all my issues.

They never answer their phone and they never know how to call back or actually care about the patients. The only few people who care at this place are the therapists and Jessica Hardin. The nurses have attitudes, they give you dirty looks, and they don’t genuinely care about the patients. The nurses are literally just working there for the money, not to actually help the patients. When you run out of medicine they take more than a week to call back and give you your meds. This place makes me have more mental health issues than i already have. Im so sorry if you deal with this too. OUR MENTAL HEALTH ACTUALLY MATTERS NOT JUST YOUR MONEY!

If I could give the Wilmington office 0 stars, I would. I showed up with a child patient for a 2nd evaluation appointment and was sent away because they said her case worker had to be there for her 2nd evaluation even though they told the case worker, during the first evaluation, she did not have to be there. So I showed and they turned us away. Then, the date it was rescheduled for turned out to be the last day of school and I didnt realize they coincided. I didnt show up because I didnt realize they were on the same day and I missed it. Totally my fault. They dropped her as a patient because they said she missed TWO appointments even though she only missed ONE. I will be telling everyone I know not to recommend this place or use them, and how they obviously do not care about the children they are treating to just throw them out so quickly. They knew very well we showed up for the first appointment and it was THEIR decision not to see her and absolutely NOT a missed appointment.

I would recommend them both!I am only giving 3 stars due to office policies and procedures. They do not answer the phone, and you never know long a response will take. Providing prompt, quality care and assistance to patients should be #1. Its also very difficult for some of us to make babysitting arrangements for our children, especially during times like these. Denying people who have children, and no babysitter, access to care is wrong! These are both common complaints! How long must we wait until the patients are put 1st and policies are changed?

I am offended that someone gave 1 star for the decor!? This is not a interior design project its a Dr office for mentally ill ppl. The bathrooms are clean and have soap and paper towels if you actually used it. I only care about how I am treated there not whats on the walls. I saw another review about not having your kid with you we are in a pandemic and thats why. When this pandemic is over they absolutely allow your kids to be with you. They have been social distancing Im in there every month and a large portion of the chairs that were there are now not due to covid. They have hand sanitizer at the check in window I know bc I use it every month. Masks are required and everyone has 1 on everytime I go in including myself. They never answer the phone or return calls or messages. My doctor obviously doesn’t review notes on my chart before seeing me, making it super impersonal and awkward. I’ve expressed concern about several side effects of my medications, only for them to be ignored, and my dosages tripled in one day, in some cases. It’s like the nurses don’t care either, I’ve withdrawn from medications 4 times in the last 9 months because of mixups on THIER part. Dealing with them is yet another trigger for my anxiety and I spend the middle of every month in chaos and worry, because I’m in fear of the withdrawal symptoms and dying from them. This office is just AWFUL. I’ve never had a doctors office make me feel so unimportant in my life.

Overall, from our experience, most of the staff here are quite nice. The doctors are very friendly and personable, and we haven’t encountered a rude receptionist as of yet. Whoever calls for appointment reminders, on the other hand, always sounds pretty grumpy. But the biggest problem with this office is THE OFFICE itself. It’s VERY outdated and unpleasant. It’s clean, yes. But the waiting room chairs are horribly uncomfortable, especially when you have to wait for a while. The decor is practically non-existent, no relaxing music, no magazines, nothing but a table and chairs for kids to “play” with. The back waiting room is absolutely stifling with the stagnant air. The bathroom is not cleaned properly and missing some basic sanitation and hygiene necessities. I think if this office would spend a little time and money into updating and renovating this facility, it really could be perfect. New paint, interesting decor, reading materials, maybe even a refreshment area, comfortable chairs that cost more than $20 piece...all these things could work wonders.

My doctor was great. It’s the front desk personnel I can’t get past. They are very unprofessional and rude. I think they have no idea on mental illness or else they wouldn’t treat patients the way they do. I’ve complained many times and as I thought, nothing happened, same ole rude ppl still doing the same horrible work ethics every visit. I don’t like that they boot you out the door when you can’t make appointments but cancel in an adequate amount of time. I was away for a family emergency on the other side of the world, cancelled my appointment well over 24 hours, just to find out when I returned that I was booted out of psychiatric care. No one called me to tell me this, I had to find out when I went in to another type of appointment. It’s hard going to a place that suppose to help your illness but yet seem to make it worst. I hate going there and I’m in the process of finding some place elsewhere. Sad thing is mental illness is very hard to cope with and many things can happen without care but they obviously could care less if they talk to people like they do and treat people as if they are just numbers when it comes to not being able to make an appointment due to unexpected emergencies. I give one star for the doctors, but the front desk gets 0 stars, they will eventually push most to go elsewhere with their attitudes.

I believe it is disgusting that a place who plays Christian music, and act like they care about their patients charges them $10 for a piece of paper. Ive worked in the medical field and there is always exceptions, however this place, even though they are ALREADY getting paid by insurance companies for patient care, they are also double dipping by charging patients when they request their own records! Regardless of it being legally okay to charge, that doesnt make it right. This place should stop playing Christian music, and start playing their true hearts desired music, maybe something like rap music about money and hustling people. I wouldnt recommend coming here by any means.*****Theres a no smoking sign by the front door, people still stand out by the front door and smoke and the staff doesnt say anything to stop them!******Also, the restroom facilities are always disgusting and stink like urine.******They are always over crowded and their staff in the front always ignore patients waiting to check in or check out.

Ive been taking my son here for a few months now. So far, our experiences have been mixed. The therapists he has seen have all been wonderful and sweet. A bit patronizing at times, but I suppose thats to be expected from any sort of doctor thats required to dumb down their knowledge when talking to you. Still unsure if his sessions are actually benefiting him, though. As for the front desk, its an absolute nightmare almost every visit. Anticipate unorganized lines and long waits. There are a few women who are excellent when checking you in, but others who come across very rude and snobbish. They have charged us extra (on more than one occasion!) for clerical errors that were their own doing. Some of these mistakes are corrected over time. Honestly, this most recent experience has put me off from this place, as the woman at the desk laughed at me whilst charging us money for their own error. Ridiculous. Currently undecided if the quality of the therapists outweighs the sheer lack of professionalism displayed in a few of their receptionists. We shall see.

My sons doctors office referred us here, but after a year of disappointment we decided to pay out of pocket to go somewhere that cares. My son did not benefit from over a years worth of appointments ( when we could get them because it would take two months sometimes to get an appointment.) Also, you have to pay to wait an hour to see someone for 5 minutes just to get an appointment with any of the different “departments” because the departments don’t intermingle. It’s all just a money racket, they don’t really care about anything else. The employees were rarely friendly, the waiting area and restrooms were disgusting, and even showing up 15 min before scheduled time they always made us wait for over 45min for our appointment. I see a lot of bad reviews, but Ive been going here since I was 13. Dr. Mhkail is by far the greatest psychiatrist Ive ever had. He has gotten me through some really rough times. Ive had a big mishap with my medicine because my husband is in the army and he has been working his hardest to work with me and get me the help I need. If nothing else see him for your medical needs you wont be disappointed. Hes the kind of doctor that doesnt make you feel ashamed and treats you with respect.

My Daughter left our home in a very happy mood. She went to see her Therapist at the Morehead City office and returned having a total Melt Down. We had to request to see a Doctor in Jacksonville, NC the next day!!! Her meds seem to help but obviously the Therapist is not helping.

I dont want to give them 1start at all. But no choice if i dont give 1star i cant write comments. First of all very bad attitude on the phone. when they leave msg , i cant hear what they speaking well. They are rude. Always changing Therapists . My kid going there since she was 5years old. Now she is 15years old. It was very good place before. But our favorite therapist had leave CCNC. And we met new therapist and 3month later therapist had move to different place. And finally we met Different therapist again!! And it was getting comfortable to see therapist. But 2019 January therapist told me going to move. Have to change different therapist OMG.... again again again. Not even a year therapists changing 3times we going to see next therapist on May. Almost 2month cant make appointment after school hour. Really ridiculous. CCNC OWNER never reply all patients reviews. I dont think they are care about patients. Bad place. I should change CCNC to different Neurosychiatric.

After seeing that two other doctors had prescribed me the same medicine Dr. Kahler refused to refill my script. Instead she wanted to cut me off cold turkey from a Med that you should not do that with. I explained to her that it would send me into a whirlwind but she did not care. She said she wanted a urine test which I said was more than ok and the only thing that would show up in my system was the meds that I was prescribed. I will not be going back here since she wanted to accuse me of med seeking instead of continuing me on meds that two other doctors have kept me on and found to have worked for me. She does not listen to the patient, instead she feels like she knows what’s best for everyone.

Disappointed with Mrs. Martinez-Sanchez, she pulled up previous private and confidential information and put it in one of the reports that I didnt get until after I left the practice. That report was made public and all my previous information told in a confidential meeting she exposed ( the meeting wasnt even with her, she rewrote what was in my confidential file), I have never felt more betrayed by anyone in the medical field. This makes me not want to seek mental health again. She constantly prescribed medication to my daughter that caused worse problems and side effects where I almost lost my child, even after repeatedly making her aware! We both switched doctors and refused to see her again.I called after my local doctor gave me a copy of my records, asked to speak to a supervisor or management and never heard anything. The good was from my therapist and the front office staff.Long lines just to check in.

Where do I start? From the very first visitI go in for first introductory meetingThen appt date was set for a full month away. The day gets here & I get a call the same morning cancelling it. The next date a valuable was like 2 weeks I think - I ask for one sooner - she said she would check and call me back.Get a call back can get in with someone else at 1:00 or 1:45. I get there - get called back, the therapist tells me she running 20 mins behind already a couple of times - At least once while walking back to her office then again IN her office & another time I believe - she gives me papers to sign - asks me what I want to get accomplish - I think I was there all of 10 mins. And the appointment is over - its out the door - back to the front desk --- When is my next appt. ---- Yea you got it!! another 4 weeks away -To me that was an unprofessional way to do businessI want to give it a chance - yet Would I be disappointed once again - could I take the same disappointment again? No wayDo I want to go back?I think not

I was told I needed lab work but when I went to CCNC, they said the lab request was already send to the Lab. But when I got to the lab, they did not have the request. so I went back to CCNC and the girl at the desk was really rude. Being a Doctor, I would never have someone like her working in my clinic.

I moved to NC from NJ, and this was the first place I called because they accept Medicare. I plan on switching as soon as I can. CCNC has an overly strict no cancellation policy, in which they threaten to drop you as a patient if you have to cancel an appointment on the same day. Emergencies happen--I have a medical condition that my psychiatrist at CCNC knows about that was recently diagnosed. I was scheduled to see her, but 2 days before my appointment, I had my first shot of Xolair to treat my chronic urticaria. I had a reaction to this medication--an asthma attack, severe hives, and vomiting. I had to cancel my appointment with Dr. Kahler on the same day. Well, my Lamictal was up for refill, and CVS called Dr. Kahler to have it refilled (for some reason, she only prescribes one month at a time). She denied the refill. Now I am out of medication and cant go back until after 3/24. I could understand not refilling the medication if I had not seen her in 6 months, but I saw her on 1/24, and have been taking Lamictal for years. I saw her 5 weeks ago and she denied my refill. It is irresponsible to let a psych patient go off medication. I have been hospitalized 6 times for bipolar disorder. I am disgusted with the lackadaisical attitude of CCNC. They never even asked to see my medical records from NJ. It seems like they expect me to see the psychiatrist every month in order to get refills...my co-pay is $60. I cant afford to come every month. Most doctors will give 1-3 refills for a prescription, but CCNC doesnt.

Where to even start honestly. Not the worst large scale psychiatric place I have been to but it could do with a bit more compassion. People at the windows dont even bother to look up at you. No support animals allowed but I guess staff can have their 4 dogs wandering around no problem. A large Christian bias here, really alienates any non Christian customers they might have with the religious music and jesus statue. As a first visit I was thoroughly interviewed by a nurse who then counseled outside of the room with the doctor who came in and claimed from that to have a good idea of me. Without even talking to me herself. Prescriped something I couldnt even take which mightve been avoided if she had actually...talked to her patient at all. Bizarre and uncompassionate. Also on a racist note they think that Indian is a language. Tip here: theres multiple languages in India. How backwoods and ignorant can a PROFESSIONAL place really be?

I was out of town for a feuneral and I was contacted about some paperwork that was ready, asked for a release form to be faxed to me since phone call #1 said it was possible. Now I know HIPPA laws, I understand confidentiality; however, I am in a time crunch for my sons IEP meeting, his Teacher is even trying to help me. On his release forms I am able to receive anything through text, email, fax, and physically. So after the second phone call they tell me, there is nothing I can do and nothing they can do to be released this form. This not only puts a wrench in the planning of the IEP but also shows with 2 different stories on what I am told are my rights as my childs mother and being I was the one that dropped the form off to begin with. It is starting to become frustrating, and setting is back to where rushing to do an IEP meeting and needing accuracy to ensure my son continues his journey on the AU spectrum and building his legacy to independence. I will now have to physically pick up these papers and believe me, I will have a few things to address with Dr. Mikhail and Mel as well as Therapist Tim since they are the heros my son has had for so many years. ADMINISTRATION STAFF, GET YOUR STORIES STRAIGHT AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU READ THOSE HIPPA LAWS AGAIN. Or maybe next time let me speak to Dr. Mikhail. Im not only his patient but also a family friend.

This place is garbage. my daughter was being seen there (i wont go in to detail) but when i asked for them to look for signs of something (not an evaluation, just to watch for signs) they discharged her without even doing a pretermination counseling with her so now my daughter thinks her doctor just dropped her. talk about causing more problems now she has trust issues and abandonment issues. I wouldnt refer this place to anyone unless you want to leave with even more problems than you went in with

I went to ask if they took tricare and if I could have a new patient packet to fill out. The people at the front desk were EXTREMELY rude. Long story short they apparently just stopped printing the packets and expect you to just know youre suppose to go online and get it.*update*I feels it’s important to update this post as this is a mental health facility. I no longer go here in any capacity. I was being charged an extra $50 for talking even though it never went over 5 minutes. I was never informed that this “changes” the appointment type. I had to ask why every time I can in I had to pay more for the last appointment.I spent months telling the psychiatrist there that the meds she had me on made me dizzy, so dizzy in fact I was regularly sent home from work. Her solution? Up my dosage and “try to wait it out.” She was insistent that this was the medication for me no matter how much I begged to change it. Her solution to my stress level at the time? Quit your job. That’s it. Then do what exactly? Look for a similar job where I’ll be paid less because I’m starting out new?I ended up missing an appointment due to confusion on her vacation. Was told they would call to reschedule when she got back. They never called. I was so done I just found another psychiatrist in Wilmington. My new psychiatrist in Wilmington is all over this stuff. The second I told her my meds make me feel even the slightest bit funky she was already looking at alternatives if I asked for it. She never pushed me to stay on the same medication. She actively calls me to make sure I’m doing alright because I don’t talk much or complain about my meds. My god if I miss an appointment or I’m late you would think the world is ending. She absolutely cares about her patients.I would also like to state that the stress test they gave me and the autism test my new psychiatrist had me take at another facility were incredibly close to being the same. The fact that this woman gave me that stress test, spoke to me for months, had me on meds, ignored my concerns, etc and still couldn’t figure out I might be a bit mentally handicapped is astounding. My new psychiatrist spent 2 sessions with me and was like “hey I’m not trying to insult you, but I think you should go here and get tested.” Bam I’m autistic. My ultimate point is find a doctor, therapist, psychiatrist, whatever you need in any place besides Jacksonville. The lack of care this place has is just sad. People go here for help, but they clearly only care about money and how much they can make off you by pushing whatever meds they have a deal with. It doesn’t matter if those meds make you nonfunctioning as long as they get their money from the company.

This place is often crazy and chaotic but that is most Psychiatry practices. They do their best to keep up with the patient load. My children and I have been patients of CCNC for over 2 years now, and they understand us. As a psych/science major, I know you only get out of a place what you put into it. If you are not cooperative with them how can they be helpful to you? Sometimes people see themselves as the only patient when they walk into a place filled with many. In a perfect world that scenario would work but unfortunately we are not all perfect and that world does not exist. I love being treated as a person and my kids love the care and attention they receive at CCNC. The Drs there are very compassionate when they see their patients, and they do not pass judgement and do their best. The field of psychiatry/psychology is not an easy career choice. I commend them for their effort.
