Horrible experience with the billing. I informed them the moment I found out I was still on my parents insurance and that my husbands insurance was going to be requesting the money they had paid on a previous claim back. Informed them that they would need to file the claim with my parents insurance as my parents is primary (its a very odd case, I know, but none the less its reality Im still on my parents insurance). The receptionist stated that she still had my parents insurance on file and she would make note of it and let the billing department handle the matter. Today, I received a call from, Jennifer, in the billing department demanding I pay the balance on the account as my husbands insurance has requested the money back. I asked if they ever filed the claim to my parents insurance and was informed no and that too much time had passed by and that I was now responsible. I kept demanding that they file the claim with my parents insurance and that was the phone call. They do not care nor do they listen or follow direction or understand how filing claims work. I have been working filing dental claims for the last 17 years of my life. I know how the process works. I also know that a doctors office only has x amount of time to file a claim and if it is not done in a timely manner during the allotted time frame, the patient is not responsible for the money. Its the provider fault and they have to eat the cost. Next time might I suggest you be on top of your responsibilities and listen to your patient when they state what is going on.
