Love my hair style so much!!!!So we have been out of power since this morning. I couldnt imagine how to use the hairdryer and curling iron without any power at home. Not sure when the power will be back, I called the salon nearby and checked if they have any openings.Praise the Lord, I was able to get an appointment at this salon. My hairdresser (Gaddy? Hope I spelled her name correctly 😂) was professional and good at communicating with her customers. And the most important of all is that this salon follows the CDC guidelines for COVID-19 very well (which impressed me a lot!)I enjoyed their service (the greetings, free beverage, the clean environment, spacing out the customers, shampoo massage, hair products, hot towel...,etc) so much. There wasnt anything that I could complain about. I have been to several salons in Jackson, and this Barnetts salon is the best salon in town! Why didnt I visit them earlier? The entire service I received was definitely 10 out of 10❤️❤️

Merry has been taking care of my hair needs since I moved to Jackson three years ago - I’ve never left unsatisfied from any appointment! Today was my first balayage appointment, and I honestly could not have been happier with the results! She took the picture I had and customized it to fit with my hair color and skin tone. I cannot wait to go back for my next appointment!

I had a shampoo, haircut and style. Bethany, as always, was friendly and professional. She always took time to make sure I was pleased with her work. And I was. I would be glad to recommend Bethany and Barnett’s to anyone.

I had one of the most pleasant experiences I’ve ever had in a salon in a while. I went in a week prior for a hair consultation to go over hair expectations. The stylist and I collaborated ideas, the stylist also assured me my expectations would be met. I felt at ease making an appointment and coming back the following week to get the lions mane tamed. When I tell you the look I was expecting, I left speechless. Which is hard to quiet my mouth. I got far more than what I anticipated, my imagination and my eyes are wide open. I left with a new found confidence. I was extremely confident to step out of the chair serving this look and continue on with the rest of my day.

I came to Barnette’s hoping to find someone with experience cutting and styling thick, curly hair. I’ve been searching for the right stylist for a long time. It had gotten to the point I dreaded going to any salon for fear of what I might end up with! Today I found a gem! Eddie gave me the best cut I’ve had in years. I get my hair done here about once every 1-2 months by Merry. She always cuts my hair very cleanly and does a fantastic job every time! At other salons I’ve been to the stylist is usually more focused on talking than the actual hair cutting but you can tell Merry is always paying close attention to what she is doing, I would highly recommend her services to anyone. She is very friendly, professional, talented, and considerate of the customer.Yes it is a bit pricey but you get the quality service that you pay for every time. They take COVID-19 very seriously and there are temperature checks before every appointment to make sure everyone who enters is healthy for the safety of their customers and staff. The environment of the salon is always very clean and it’s located in a very convenient area, I always grab something to eat downstairs after my appointment is done.

Ralph Barnette has cut my hair for 30+ years. His skill in cutting my curly hair has given me the gift of time over these decades, time not spent “doing” my hair. I do so appreciate him.

Words cannot adequately describe my experience with Eddie. I am so impressed and in love with my new haircut. This was my first time at Barnette’s and I am so glad I booked my appointment with Eddie. Eddie listened to what I was looking for and made his professional recommendations. I had an idea of what I wanted but really needed guidance. Eddie provided the perfect guidance. Everything from the manner he handled my hair to the precision in his technique is superb! I have moved quite a bit and I have had different hair stylists in different states. Eddie by far the best one out there! Even if I have to travel, I will always go to Eddie!

Barnett’s salon is very eloquent and the employees are very professional and friendly. I consulted with a stylist about extensions and I loved how knowledgeable she was about the services I am looking to receive and how knowledgeable she was about my hair type and texture. Loved getting my hair cut and style yesterday. Everyone there is courteous and professional. Eddie, my stylist always does a great job. I’m glad he’s back at Barnett’s. Also everyone was carful to make sure the areas are clean and masks are worn. Your temp is checked at the door and customers only go inside the salon when the stylist is ready to work with the client. This keeps social distancing in force. I felt as safe as possible given our current climate.

I’ve been a many many year customer here and they have always treated me so very nicely. I’ve gotten know several to include Ralph the owner from way back before I started my own business. If this will be your first time using then call and ask for Margo. She will handle it all from there but if you want names of stylists that I have used and trusted either tell her you want in with Bethany, Lucy or Bridget. All three are the best. You will like it there and the atmospheres it exudes.

I have visited Barnettes twice now. The first time I had an appointment this last time I actually waited til the last minute Friday my birthday today, and called and luckily they had an open slot an hour later. Went received a wash, cut, and straightened with curls. Was only charged $35 so my hair dresser received a large tip!! She did an amazing job as well. Request her by name McKenna Outlaw!!

Ashleigh really pays attention to not only the style cut you like, but how your hair lays/ parts etc. Got exactly what I wanted plus great styling advice. Ive had good experiences with other stylists at both locations, too, though they keep people long enough Ive only changed every five to seven years.

Other than my appointment being 45 minutes late; I loved Tenisha. She was great! I loved my hair cut. Time management for her is an issue for the administration. They gave my mom a gift to say sorry but didn’t give me anything. Watch the time when you go.

I had a trim and blow out today with Taneisha she is fantastic. I loved the shampoo and the hot towel treatment. I have already scheduled my return appointment. The receptionist was so friendly and made me feel very welcome.

Great haircut as always. Special hair services today a luxury worth paying for! There was a bit longer wait today, but life happens. There is a reason why this is the oldest and best in Jackson. Great service staff. Attention to detail and wonderful stylists. Ralph Barnette has worked very hard to make this place top of the food chain. The reviewers who are complaining about prices dont seem to realize that each stylist has their own price based on experience. Mary,my stylist, is awesome,kind and smart. This is a real salon with real care for the client. Comfortable,spacious...not crowded claustrophobic like many small salons..Relaxing!

If youre a guy getting a haircut, you may want to consider another place. The prices fluctuate all over (Ive had my hair cut from $25 all the way to $45) and no one usually bothers to tell you that even if your stylist is out and they substitute someone else in.Thats another thing. I like a little consistency. I think if I visited this place 12 times in a year (once a month) and scheduled the same stylist, Id see that person probably 6-8 times and someone else the others.Also, if youre a guy, get ready to listen to the chatter all around you, theres going to be a lot of it.
