I absolutely love working for Vista Grande Villa! The staff are welcoming, the food is great and the residents are so involved within the organization. Since working here I have met many great people and am happy to continue to be apart of the VGV Family.

If your loved one goes to their nursing home, say your goodbyes. Quickly. Staff would rather let a patient lay there, wither away, and die than actually do their jobs. And they can get away with it by not letting visitors in “due to COVID” so that nobody can see how poor the care is.

I have lived at Vista Grande Villa in independent living for four years now and I love being here. My husband passed away some time ago and I could see some health problems arising. I decided I should get myself into Vista and I am so glad I did. Now I dont have to worry about all those housing cares and any forthcoming health issues. The care center here is amazing. When the nurses there told me I would return to my apartment in two days after breaking my hip, I didnt want to leave. There is a certain element of being cared for correctly that makes being here that much more enjoyable.People here are very friendly and accepting. You have the opportunity to join in the many activities or not. Vista;s laundry will do all your flat items and is included in the monthly rent.Im happy to call Vista home.

Awesome staff on the rehab unit. Shout out to the amazing Cenas who took care of my dad. Best dang therapy department in the area! The PTA and Cota are amazing with my dad. The dietary staff are amazing and so friendly. No complaints other than family need more warning on care conference meeting and option of a morning and afternoon meetings. I can not do afternoon at all. I know the staff are busy but so are the family.

My mother-in-law has resided at the Villa for over 20 years. The experience has been excellent. She is very happy, well taken care of. We recently visited her (she is 96). I asked if she was happy, she smiled and said very much so. We live a distance away from her and it is comforting to know she is in good hands and she is being taken care as we would if we were there with her.

One Star is to much this place is HORRIBLE. Rehab here is a joke and when you push the call button for the nurse good luck getting one to come into a room. Short staffed two ladies got injured in this place one just over the past weekend. Stay away if you want your loved ones to be safe.

Extremely poor place. The aids were aggressive towards my aunt. They were abusive and I had to take her out . The food portions are small and puiney. After talking with staff to address the multiple grievances, not issues were resolved. I wouldnt take my enemies to this place.Look elsewhere for care.

Updating my review of VG. We have seen some improvements in the Assisted Living portion, Trellis Garden. The food is much improved over a year ago. Some meals are tasteless, but some meals are quite good. Med dispensing is still a concern to us, but the number of times Dads meds are dispensed wrong is very infrequent, only once in the last couple of months. We still order Dads meds rather than rely on the staff. The staff continues to be caring and thoughtful, but they continue to be understaffed with lots of help seeming to be working mandated overtime. They had some recent turnover in administration so we are hoping for more improvements...My review from 2019: My Father has been at Vista Grande and Trellis Garden for a while now, and myself and my siblings have spent many days and nights there, so I feel we are in a good position to evaluate the care and conditions there. In general, the people there a caring bunch, but there is not enough staff, too much turnover, and they are not well enough trained to provide a premium level of care.My Dad began his stay at Vista Grande. That experience went well. The accommodations for his needs by the staff were excellent. The facility and the services well met his needs. The food options were many and varied, and the food quality was good.Later Father moved into Trellis Gardens due to declining health, and the need for more attentive care. That experience has not been as positive, and in many cases quite worrisome. First is the food. Trellis food is not prepared in the Trellis wings, and can run from OK to awful. Residents are supposed to have a choice of 2 menu items for each meal, with various standardized options. In practice, the residents dont always get to make a choice or their choice may not be available. The food is generally flavorless and overcooked. That said, the desserts are good.Meds. A major concern is the attention to meds distributed to residents at Trellis. We have seen too many incidents where meds are dispensed incorrectly. Sometimes meds are double dosed, we have seen residents meds given to the wrong resident, some times meds are missed. There is apparently no system for reordering meds in a timely manner, so our family orders Dads meds so that they dont run out. Vista Grande has recently fired most of the nurses that dispensed meds, and they are now dispensed by less trained staff, which is even more worrisome. Fortunately Dad does not require injections, as untrained staff is now responsible for insulin injections.Laundry. We have labeled EVERY item of Dads (clothes, linens, etc.) to try and assure his laundry returns when laundered. Nevertheless, items get lost, and other residents items end up in Dads apartment.Care. By and Large the resident assistants (RAs) are friendly and caring. However, there is persistent turnover and even when at full staffing are still understaffed for the workload. Mornings and evenings are worse as the overloaded RAs try to get all the residents up and dressed for breakfast, and bathed and dressed for bed. All residents wear call buttons for attention. Response times are purported to be 5 minutes or less. Our experience is that 5 minute responses are rare, and sometimes can be over 30 minutes.Cleanliness. The staff is responsible for cleaning apartments and changing linens. This can be haphazard. Sometimes linens are not changed on schedule, and apartment cleaning is not done to a very high standard, carpets are only cleaned in traffic areas, dusting is not very comprehensive, and bath rooms are only spot cleaned.Emergency prep. Do not take an apartment on the 3rd floor. The inability to escape in an emergency is almost guaranteed. There is only one escape wheelchair, and as far as we know none of the RAs have been trained in its use.In conclusion it is conventional wisdom that Vista Grande/Trellis Gardens is one of the best retirement communities in the area. That may be the case, but they have a long way to go to brag about unambiguously high quality care.

I just tried calling to find out some information about placing my mother into Vista grand villa, and Malinda, was very rude she asked me about my mothers financial situation and when I started to talk about it telling her what kind of insurance my mother had, I was interrupted in a rude manor, telling me she would be able to stay there at all and hung up on me,
