Small slice of heaven with everything youd ever want and need. Everything about this place is amazing! And it backs up to Buttermilk Falls State Park. Too many things to list in this review but I cannot wait to go back....the couples massage with CBD is incredible, thank you Krista

Nice establishment that was a nice place to stay while we attended our friends wedding reception being hosted there. We were unable to find a boarding place for our dog, but the hotel was happy to host our pupper in addition to us for a small cleaning fee.Food and wedding reception were very nice. The indoor area was a bit cramped, but it was a fairly large wedding party with over a dozen tables. Bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. Happy to have attended and stayed at the location even with the rather expensive price for a one night stay.

My wife and I stayed at La Tourelle for an overnight anniversary celebration. We brought our dog and stayed in a special pet-friendly room with a deck and private access to the grounds. If our Sheltie could write this review he would give it an A++ rating. He loved the pet bed and the grounds. The room was very clean and spacious with no odor. The facilities are a bit worn and dated but still charming. The staff were friendly and solicitous. We enjoyed the spa and found the pricing very reasonable. One downside is that the spa is operated independently from the hotel. Even if you book a spa package with the hotel, it just provides you with a voucher to use, with no guarantee of availability at the spa. My advice is to check availability with the spa first before booking with the hotel. The steak house on the property is gone, but the hotel cafe has been moved to it, providing ample and gracious seating for breakfast and lunch. Our breakfast was expansive and delicious. The hotel advertises it path to Buttermilk Falls. It is pleasant but note that it connects to the southern portion and is miles from the gorge and falls are. But the park, city and numerous attractions are a very short drive away. Though one hopes for some upgrades post-Covid, La Tourelle remains a luxurious resort with great amenities at a very reasonable price.

Grounds were gorgeous and staff was friendly. However, our room was not the cleanest, and it almost seemed like someone had slept in the bed before (hairs, stains, particles). This is a gorgeous destination for a nature oriented retreat, so don’t expect that stable of wifi or cell signal unless you go to the lobby. Great rooms with access to trails of Buttermilk Falls park. Happy hour 5-6 with free wine or discounted beer. Friendly staffall around. Very good breakfasts at the Bistro with great service from Katie.

Greta bedrooms, social areas and gardens. Service was really nice and breakfast wonderful! I only wished the restaurant opened in the evening when we didnt want to go out to eat. Great to rest, disconnect and relax.

We stayed in the yellow barn suite and we enjoyed our stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It was very pricey for weekend but the rates for weekdays was ok. I hope they can offer more food options for guests for dinner. Other than that we had no issues and we are planning to go back again.

Very nice rooms, ac unit in each guest room. Courtyard access from room was great with an uncovered back patio. Happy hour is from 5 to 6 and included free glasses of wine from local wineries that were great and half-priced beer and cocktails. (Though the full prices were still not bad at all!)

Food and drink was very good. Lavender lemonade was wonderful. It was a bit chilly and took awhile to get our food. We didnt realize there was a deck we could have ate at. Which would have been nice on the nice day. I had to change tp in bathroom as it was empty and floor looked like it needed to be swept desperately. There were also fingerprints on seat of toilet when I went in and I had to clean them off before I used it.

The hotel inside is beautiful and the staff went out of their way to help me. The breakfast we had was delicious. My only fault was the Landscaping needed a lot of work

​We had stayed at La Tourelle while visitng our daughter at Cornell. Very nice boutique hotel, great staff and food. Easy access to downtown, Cornell, and direct hiking from the property into Buttermill Falls State Park. When our daughter decided to get married in Ithaca, she looked around a wedding venues and chose La Tourelle. We are SO happy that she did. The quality of the food, staff, and service was great. The value was amazing, half the cost of other venues. We were able to have or wedding and reception outside on their covered terrace. The venue was beautiful with views of the valley, mountains, forest, and gazebos. Our guests were able to stay onsite so we had everyone together for the entrire weekend. The engagement was a year and a half, then Covid hit and the wedding was deferred another year. So for more than two years we worked with the staff at La Tourelle. They were responsive, flexible, adaptive, and a perfect combination of professional and down to earth. I would suggest that anyone looking to hold an event or visit Ithaca consider La Tourelle!

The staff here is amazing. There was a problem with the room we were staying in and I notified the front desk and the staff came up immediately and without hesitation was very apologetic and moved us to a different room. I can say that they are a well run hotel and they take pride in making your stay perfect. In which they definitely did.

The classiest place to stay while in Ithaca. Its quiet and the rooms are very nice. You can eat off the floors its so clean. I am also impressed theyre using Beekman 1802 products in the bathroom. We will be returning and recommending people to stay there.

Enjoyed a massage at the spa and a night at the hotel and a wonderful breakfast at the bistro all in a lovely package. Everything was perfect!!

Lovely, romantic, relaxed elegant vibe with an inspiring connection to the nature around you. La Tourelle is the perfect place to go when you want a pleasant and restorative getaway. The hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly and engaging. The bistro is very well done with cheerful staff and excellent food with many fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Highly reccommend.

The hotel had computer problems the night we went. It was raining steady and it was located in a small town. The girl attempted to run my credit card repeatedly causing my card company to lock my account. This forced me to use my debit card. I have had call the credit union to insure they dont attempt multiple charges from my account there as well. Very poor service in my opinion.

Had an amazing stay at La Tourelle for a romantic long weekend in Ithaca. Our room was cozy and clean and all hotel staff and guests carefully followed COVID precautions. The hotel grounds are beautiful and offer a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of downtown. The spa on premise, August Moon, was fabulous and a must! The location was an easy drive away from everything we wanted to do and see. We had an incredible time and would definitely stay again on future travels to Ithaca!

Everything about our stay was PERFECT! The hotel is absolutely stunning with the most incredible breathtaking views. The room and entire facility were always impeccably clean and hand sanitizer readily available. Its also in a great location in relation to many restaurants and vineyards. The bistro also does a yummy breakfast where you can enjoy the view from outside- we ate there three times. 😊. Definitely would recommend!!

Stayed in a suite with a king size bed and a fire place you usually dont find such a place with an exceptional service, staff was super friendly and eagered to assist. First time coming to this place to experience a little get away for my birthday and it was incredible. Jessica the hotel bar manager was so insightful Ive been sober and made suggestions with delicious mocktails to cheers with. A must stay if youre looking for an upscale and friendly place to stay. Breakfast in bed was just the icing on the cake. Thank you for everything I will be back and would highly recommend to my family and friends.

Two night stay on 12/30 and NYE 2020. Stayed in the Paris Room. Cool seeing all the musicians and acts that come thru Ithaca and stay at this beautiful establishment. Room was comfortable, service was great. Balcony has a great view. Great bathroom. Warm fireplace. Fun bookshelf.Only a few things I would complain about... But nothing is perfect!The Autumn spa was a great activity. First time, has beyond relaxed.

The spot is amazing each room is quaint and different. I expected more of a hotel feel but really I felt like I was staying in someones guest house. there is a trail to buttermilk falls State Park which is in the campground located right behind the hotel so no need to drive anywhere an hours hike will bring you to the bottom of the park where there is a swimming hole there is also glamping behind the hotel for friends that may not want the hotel experience. Theyre cute little gazebos and chairs surrounding lily pad ponds. within 5-minute drive of the Ithaca Commons which hosts excellent eateries and little shops and a one-hour drive from Corning where you can visit the Corning museum of glass. if Vikings not your thing take up 10-minute drive to the base of Robert treatment State Park where there is a swimming hole and diving board into natural waters at the bottom of a waterfall.

Great fun, the grounds are lovely. I would visit again.

My boyfriend (turned fiancé) and I stayed at la tourelle in January for a covid friendly get away. We stayed in the king fireplace room. It was amazing! Clean, cozy, and comfortable. We liked it so much we added an extra night. The room was huge and beautiful! The fireplace was great and cozy. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly and quick to answer to get us whatever we needed. We will definitely be staying there again!

Attended a wedding there it was wonderful.

My boyfriend lives a few states away, and I wanted a special Valentines get away. So we did a Monday Valentines Day. Our room was adorable and very clean, the mini lotion they give you has become my favorite. Then we had a very fun wine tasting, where we actually got to sample some liquor as well (this was a treat, I wouldnt expect it), and there was a great little cheese platter. We had breakfast at the Bistro and relaxed until check out. Might be back in April (: , but definitely will be returning

My girlfriend and I went on a “moms getaway” here and absolutely loved our first stay. We did the breakfast package as well and we’re really happy with Anne’s cooking at the Bistro. We also had an adventurous time on the trail to buttermilk Falls and were pleased with the fact that hotel staff picked us up at the end of our trail as we didn’t have time to hike back and make it in time for our spa treatments (which were amazing). Some of the other touches that really stood out were the comfortable bed, the fresh roses everywhere as well as the complimentary wine tasting hour in which we spent a lot of time with the owner and really loved the history behind this family-run business! Do yourself a favor and visit!

Clean, great location. Excellent customer service. Quiet setting on large property with their own hiking trail to Buttermilk Falls state park.Bed was incredibly comfortable. Only ding was the bathroom could use some updating but best pet friendly lodging I have found in Ithaca and I will return for sure!

Country setting was beautiful. Staff was fantastic. However, rooms and lobby, outdoor areas do not look like they appear in online photographs. I want to know who is the photographer who took the photos for the hotels website because he or she is excellent and really; however, put a false spin on what the hotel would be like and the pics were very misleading.

Had a bit of an extended stay at La Tourelle and the whole experience was great. It was very clean, and the staff were very attentive and kind. Being close to Ithaca while also having access to the buttermilk falls trail made the stay completely ideal. 10/10 would stay there again.

Covid review. Nice hospitality. Fireplace in lobby and in rooms were great. Bistro had the most amazing breakfast. Got the sunset view/woods instead of parking lot.small upcharge. Bed was comfy with 6 pillows. Small balcony to watch snow. Not much to do onsite during covid, but relax.

Hotel is dated appears and appears to be from the 80’s. Hotel service was average and a little less than friendly. We were charged an extra $25/night for our dog even though the hotel was advertised as pet friendly on a national booking site because the pet rooms were sold out. We booked pet friendly, and it should have been honored. The television was placed in an armoire which made for an uncomfortable viewing angle. The location offers a brunch restaurant that could not cook eggs to order and a customer should not have a chase the wait staff down multiple times for a coffee refill. All being said, my family and I will never return.

My partner and I stayed here for two nights on our anniversary weekend. All I can say is we were more than impressed with the service we received! There was a huge snow storm blowing through the northeast that weekend and the owner and staff were very accommodating, making sure our car was cleaned off and we were safe and ready to travel all the way back home (to nj). The rooms were clean and pristine. The bed was as comfortable as could be and the bathroom was beautiful. Did I mention that the rates were more than reasonable? Bc they were! We will definitely be back! This place was the perfect gem we gratefully stumbled upon.

Spent a night at La Tourelle recently, and it was a wonderful experience. The room was gorgeous, the spa (at least the sauna, steam room, and Zen rooms) were lovely, and I can tell in the summer, the grounds are beautiful. However, it was the staff that made the experience so lovely. Every single person we met was so warm and friendly. Scott, the owner, clearly goes above and beyond to ensure his guests have the best stay they can. Fantastic experience all around, and I cant wait to come back.

We stayed at La Tourelle for a long weekend getaway. This hotel is in a very good location, as it it close to Cayuga Lake, Ithaka, and the state parks. They even have direct access to the hiking trails of Buttermilk falls park. Last but not least, the hotel is in close proximity to both the Cayuga and the Seneka Lake Wine Trails. This is the kind of family business that you want to support, especially at the moment. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, and rooms are very cozy. I recommend booking the breakfast option. They cook it in house, and it is very yummy. We also used their Spa, and we can really recommend it. Overall, this is a place I would definitely come back to.

We had a super stay and spa day! The rooms were cozy and the linens super comfy! It was a blustery night so the fireplace was a nice added feature. Were greated with their wine hour and a complimentary glass of wine. We had breakfast at the Bistro before our spa treatments. Fresh fruit, a Danish and a nice hearty meal. Definitely recommend morning spa appointments as weve done later in the day and it was much more relaxing and less congested in the tranquility rooms. Our therapists were both great. My husband had hot stone and I had relaxation massages. We added the foot therapy which is a nice warm treat for your toes. Looking forward to our next time!

The complimentary wine hour was a nice addition after our massages.We had breakfast at the Bistro before we left and it was delicious! The cranberry mimosa was perfect.Can’t wait to go back. This place is so good! I just left the spa where Ellie and Kirstyn took such good care of me, Im in heaven. The staff here in the hotel, bistro and spa really is unlike any Ive ever seen. The service is beyond excellent and the food is incredible. This is my first 3rd time staying and its one of my favorite places to come. The pic is from my balcony :)

Good place for brunch. We like the small outside patio. Oatmeal crusted French toast and build your own breakfast burrito were tasty. Prices are decent - $10-15 per person. They have duck eggs too if you are into them.

Second time Ive stayed here and it was just as great as the first! The rooms are pretty and the beds so comfortable. The breakfast is incredible. The bistro might be my favorite part! The spa is really nice and the staff of the entire place really makes you feel at home. Cant wait to go back 😀

My husband and I went for one night just to getaway. It was nice. Staff were very nice. We would probably like it better in the summer. The grounds are so nice and to be able to walk around town in the warmer weather. All in all it was a nice experience.

Just like that! You open the door and you r back in time. Thats what happened to me when I stepped inside. Beautiful place! The room was so large and well organized. Huge windows, beautifully carved and painted wooden furniture, even real wooden floor!There were even books under the night stands. It is not your usual hotel and you wont feel like you are at the hotel. I really enjoyed the experience! Though there was no time for spa, I did get to enjoy their bistro with magnificent bright stained glass ceiling! Makes the room so cheerful!They also have another restaurant in a separate building. Read their family history of how it all started, explore the gardens, and trails and so much more! Take your time and stop the clock! This place is to slow down and enjoy every second!

La Tourelle was the perfect place to relax for a night with our pup. The staff were so friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The dog friendly rooms have direct access to a large lawn, which is great. The rooms were really reasonably priced (esp. during a busy weekend). Wed come again!

The rooms are nice enough. The staff is excellent. There are no safes in the rooms so any valuables must be locked in your car which is so inconvenient. The rooms are far too expensive considering the lack of a safe and the cut up confusing layout of the resort. The spa however is excellent. With a few signs at the stairs and elevator explaining where the rooms are and putting the room numbers in large script on the door instead of in very small script on the keypad and safes in the rooms would make things much more convenient.

If you want a unique experience of NYS, then you got to visit this hotel. The staff is very nice, the bistro food is exquisite and they have vegan dishes that are delicious. August Moon Spa is a great place to relax. Definitely, La Tourelle is the place to have a wonderful time.

We were delighted to stay in the most wonderful room overlooking the snow failing over the yard with the mountains in the distance. We went for the hike suggested andJust loved it! Beautiful. The hotel staff was lovely and helpful. We had drinks at the bar during their happy hour and lovely conversation. We played chess on the big chess board and used the gym! We will be back!

We always enjoy coming here. Its starting to show its age and is time for some renovations. Cameron, the bartender during the daily happy hour, is excellent. Breakfasts are pretty good, but they should heat the plates. The rooms are dated but the beds are wonderful and its quiet. The spa is excellent.

The Yellow Barn was a great place to stay with some good features. Huge beds and spacious bathrooms. Very fun for a group at a great price. Unfortunately, the sound system was not great and the overhead projector wasnt either. Still a super fun time and very good food. All employees were very nice and accommodating.

Recently spent two wonderful days at La Tourelle. This boutique hotel in the hills above Ithaca, NY has the feel of a French country inn with large comfortable rooms, attentive staff, beautiful grounds and gardens. The Bistro located in the main hotel offers breakfast and lunch prepared by a Culinary Institute executive chef. The John Thomas Steakhouse located in the old farmhouse is world class. Complimentary wine tastings offered nightly in the cozy lobby bar feature local wines. La Tourelle is a great place for a romantic getaway or just to recharge your soul and enjoy the best that the Finger Lakes region has to offer.

Sort of rustic European feel to this hotel. I thought it was going to be kind of dated and stuffy but I loved it. Loved that there was no carpet and instead what seemed like laminate flooring looking like wood. Such felt so much cleaner. Room and bathroom were clean (and I have very high standards), and the beds were so comfortable. Mattresses were on the softer side which I loved. Nice property and I really have no complaints. Oh, and breakfast was very tasty.

This is a wonderful hotel with great prices. The Bistro and the nearby steakhouse have very good food. And you MUST visit the spa!

My boyfriend and I visited the spa over the weekend and it was awesome!! I called the day before and they managed to squeeze us in on a Saturday for a couples massage. The massage was AMAZING I got a Swedish while my boyfriend got a deep tissue and we were both in love. It is very pretty and relaxing I loved going and will definitely be back!! Thanks for an amazing time for a great price.

My wife an I hadnt had a vacation in 4 years. We chose this place. Everything was wonderful. Had a great massage. Our last night we joined the wine tasting at the lobby bar. Got to me mingle with part of the staff and the gentleman at the bar was great. He made us feel like been belonged there. We will definitely be back. If you dont rate this place a 5 out of 5 your crazy.

A group of us, most of whom hadnt seen each other for decades after graduating from the TV-Radio Department at Ithaca College, chose La Tourelle as our three-day base camp. We chose well. Service was impeccable, the beds were soft and comfy, and the lobby offered a quiet den-like sitting area for impromptu discussions. The crown jewel, in my opinion, was La Tourelles terrace, where a lovingly prepared breakfast - one of the finest that Ive had in years - helped fuel easygoing conversation in a light breeze. And for those who wanted to work off calories, a pleasant hiking trail down to Buttermilk Falls began just steps away. Theres also an old-fashioned swing hanging from a large tree behind the inn to bring out your inner child. Given the participants, our reunion was going to be memorable. But La Tourelle made it even more so, and I look forward to returning to this quiet and captivating retreat the next time Im in the region.

The hotel is old and beautiful. The rooms are nicely decorated and the bed was so comfortable! Loved that its not a chain hotel. All meals are available on site, as well as a spa!

Our stay was great, very pleased with the courtious and helpful staff. The food was excellent. Our room was exceptional, clean, quiet and larger than most. There is a choice of many different types of rooms to choose from. The grounds are well manicured with several ponds with waterfalls or fountains. We will most definitely return.

La Tourelle is a beautiful Inn with 35 rooms..it is classy, sweet and welcoming. The staff was very kind, respectful and informative. It is near Ithaca College, Restaurant Row and a long strip of vineyards as well as an impressive waterfall. The room we stayed in was adorable with super comfy mattresses and pillows. Everything was spotless. It happens to be, as per Cal, one of the last rooms which has not been updated, I hope they never update it and keep the 1986 French Country Style it is currently decorated in! So cute! Id definitely recommend this Inn. We hope to come back and enjoy the spa, restaurant and bistro as well. Thank you!

We have used La Tourelle as our home base when in Ithaca. It was the obvious choice for us to stay for our daughters wedding. We rented the Barn suite. It was a wonderful flexible space for us and perfect for wedding day prep!The owner and staff were outstanding. They took great care with us. They checked in often yet gave us our space so we were relaxed as though we were home. It was great to have our own place so close to where all our out other friends and relatives stayed.I highly recommend LaTourelle.

I visited my aunt and cousin who were staying here and the campgrounds are awesome! The tents are super roomy and even in October the blankets kept my aunt and cousin warm. The staff was also very nice and I loved the camp dog, Allie!

Great hotel. I love the shelf full of books in my room. The camping area looks really fun as well. Some aspects did feel slightly dated, and the vending machine upstairs was almost totally empty (boo...). August Moon spa is wonderful, I think my favorite in Ithaca!

A very cozy hotel with big rooms. They always have fresh chocolate chip cookies and coffee in the lobby. A lovely place to stay. A bit far away from town, so youll need your car, but otherwise its superb. Very nice grounds too (with a pond!)

Stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. The complementary breakfast was mediocre at best. The massage we got was amazing. The room was great too. Had a really cold mini fridge. It would freeze up the water. Also, our terrace didnt have chairs but it was still very nice. There was a giant chess board that was lot of fun to play with.

Wow! At first I thought, Ill never do such a boujee thing as glamping. But it was our anniversary and I wanted the do something nice and extraordinary. And it was! Nice and extraordinary! Luxurious safari tent on a platform with an outdoor deck looking through the tree canopy. Private and beautiful. We were in the Master King electric tent with a heater. We had super-comfortable bed. Full baths located very conveniently near by. We had our own fire pit (due to covid, but I recommend they keep this as a permanent option) Lovers playing Scrabble by firelight is a sweet experience. 😊. Our foray into the local nature hiking trails revealed a surreal forest beauty that wonderful to experience. As a local, I was introduced to a part of Buttermilk Falls that I had not yet discovered. It was very nice. Breakfast was simple but pleasing with high quality fresh fruit, yogurts, eggs, granolas, pastries juice and coffee. There is a full outdoor bar with local craft beer, wine and spirits. And in non-covid times, community fire pits and bocce ball. Staff was always super helpful and courteous. They even started our campfire for us, with ample wood to take us into the might. Overall, a great experience for us. My partner was super pleased and happy, which made me very happy! Highly recommend. We are thinking of inviting friends and family in for it in the future. Thanks La Tourelle and Firelight Camps!

Attended a wedding & reception here. Beautiful venue - especially the grounds outdoors. I would rate the food at 3.5/5. It was well-prepared, just nothing extraordinary. The staff were very attentive and quick with setting up/tearing down. Overall, a very good experience.

Beautiful, affordable, romantic getaway for 2. Family owned and operated. The rooms are clean and updated, the bar is in the lobby with a free wine tasting hour from local vineyards. Breakfast is in the building serving food from local farmers. The spa is wonderful with an excellent atmosphere. The on site steakhouse although quite expensive was accommodating to my Vegan diet creating a pasta dish with wild mushrooms that tasted amazing. They have a trail leading to buttermilk falls as well. This is a must visit for couples looking to get away.

Wow...Is the only word to describe this amazing gem in the Finger Lakes.We did the relax and rejuvenate package and worth every penny.At night they did a wine and cheese hour that was complementary and at night a bomb fire that offers drinks and homemade smores...Yummy!!Breakfast was all farm fresh ingredients...I had the oat crusted french toast with local made grape juice...amazing!!They also offer a trail on site to Buttermilk Falls and pick you up at the end of the trail.Again WOW!!!Thank you so much for everything!!

Old school and family-run, they treated our non-traditional family (two women and a cat) with warmth and hospitality. Loved their local winery happy hour, lovely grounds, and connection to hiking trails. So happy we made the choice.

My best friend and I had a one night getaway and stayed in executive suite 160, St. Tropez room. The room was really beautiful, the bed extremely comfortable, the dual head shower was great. The front desk assisted us with getting a taxi. Our package included breakfast in the Bistro, which was pleasant although the tea water was not hot enough. We also each had a wonderful spa treatment. It was an excellent mini-vacation.
