I like the location. I wish it was 24 hours. The only thing I didnt like was that many of the elliptical machines were unstable, like they were not leveled which caused a rocking motion when you got on it. The staff was cool and I like how its sectioned off, not as wide and vast like the others which made it less intimidating.

Always clean and less than half full. Machines are always available & cleaning supplies are provided throughput the gym to wipe down equipment before and after your workout. Staff is friendly.

This location along with other locations like this isnt helpful with customer service. They literally point to a sign. I became sick to the point i was hospitalized and could no longer work, kidney failure. I called and tries to cancel and was told I had to come in person. How? And not only was I still billed but it increased. My 10.00 plan went to 20 and then 40 back to 20. For months on months that I wasnt able to cancel my membership. If I had owed money my contract would have been canceled but because it was on auto you kept withdrawing. Even thought Ive asked for it to be canceled. When I was able to come in person the manager Abdul didnt speak with me but told his staff to point to the sign and tell me no refund because I decided not to come to the gym it was no refunds. As if I chose to have kidney failure and be in the hospital. Poor customer service doesnt begin to describe the issues at this location. I will never join or recommend any planet fitness gym.

Tons of equipment, staff constantly cleans, temp check after you you check in. I went to this branch different times not so packed if you check the meter before heading there on the app. Given the 4 stars it would have to be because theres way too many treadmills that can be folded up to make more space, the weight lifting machine makes you feel like youre in the way when youre into reps doing your workout especially when someone walks past by. The ventilation is important there is hardly any ventilation in the facility especially when its humid out and youre working out upstairs.

Gym is small but has a lot to offer nice little free zone gym nobody bothers you, you just do your thing and the cleaners make sure the machines are clean

I admit I had some concerns given the location of this facility is in Newark. But this is the first time I would have to write that I had a 5 Star experience here. The staff enforce covid-19 protocols and make sure guests are wearing proper gym attire. The machines appear to be brand new Matrix design with digital rep counters. Absolutely the best Planet Fitness I have visited out of all the States I have traveled to. Keep up the excellent work.

The best thing about the gym is the manager, Daphney! She’s a really helpful and friendly person. She assisted me with a cool and humble attitude.

So I like going to this gym overall. Ive been a member since 2017 and this Planet Fitness opened close to my house. Since covid happened the gyms are no longer 24 hours. So I tend to try and go first thing in the morning. But more then a few times in the morning when I went, the gym was still closed because the management team was running late. How in professional can you be? As Im writing this I have been outside waiting for an half an hour.

Nice venue, great equipment, unfortunately zero 5lb or 2.5lb weights for free the weight benches. Occasionally have to deal with people who walk around for 20 minutes between sets and try to monopolize all the equipment.

The location is great. My only issue is that the staff is not ever on the same page. Some will allow bags upstairs and some will not. Some will allow sports bras and some will not. When I am allowed upstairs with these things, I either get stopped by another staff member or I don’t. All of the restrictions should be told downstairs by every single staff member. But you cannot go upstairs two hours into my workout and tell me to take my bag to the lockers when the staff member downstairs allowed it. I even asked if I can take it up and they allowed it. The customer is not the one to approach, the staff member who allowed it is the one to approach. She approached me with an attitude at that.Also, every single time I’ve come to this location I’ve worked out in a sports bra and was never approached. Today, I was forced to buy a T-shirt when I told them all I had was my bra and a sweater. I’ve never had any issues concerning my top before so why today? They didn’t have a shirt in my size so I was forced to go up a size and when I asked for scissors to cut it to my size, he gave me rules on how long it can be. This was extremely disappointing.

This place was clean, and not overly crowded. All the equipment worked properly, and appeared to be new. I didnt give it a 5 only because I went to multiple sanitizer stations and they all worked except for 1. Otherwise everything was great!

Im leaving my review. I joined over a year ago, and I cancel my membership because of a rude manager, not to mention i injured my self on a broken machine that cut me months ago, that I reported. The other day the manager was with a customer had a line waiting and I asked if I could sign in and get started she had a very bad tone she spoke with a rude demeanor and said wait, I thought that was rude. I went in to work out today I guess she remembered me because she gave me a bad look up and down, and ask if my loafers were shoes. I said not and I weared them many times. She said I cant Weare them and she didnt notice before. She could of gave a courtesy since she never said anything before but she just refused me. I cancel and ask for corporate she gave me a wrong number after that she ask me why I wanted it and if to report the situation. I was like dont worry about that. Has customer Im not arguing for people to take my money and I will be writing corporate next.

Someone stold my resistance band and anklets ( they were right in the machine i was using it was stole. From right uner my nose) I asked the front desk for assistance on looking to see who was responsible & was told I would have to file a police report. As a property manager I know letting me know who stold my property could probably cause a issues. However a litle more concerned for my things would have been nice. They could have still looked at the footage to see who took my things (whithout telling me who it was) and addressed the situation with the other party.Who wants to go to a gym where your things get stolen and on top of that no one cares. NOT me !!!!!!!What was stolen was only 20-30 bucks. Its fine i will buy another set. But dang it where is the customer care ????????

Everytime i come to this gym the women here makes up her own rules i have been to other planet fitness with my regular mask but she tells me i need a cloth mask before she tells me i need to buy one from them or next door im not doing that when i have a maks already i had no problems in east orange or newarks locations i always have problems at this location im tired of it one time she tells me i cant bring in a jug of water im not even a heavy lifter or intimatdating like the commerical its the light skin women with braids very unprofessional

Super clean and staff is professional. However as a member I find it disturbing that as a new facility some equipments were moved to another facility as per staff. I have visited other Planet Fitness as my membership allows well to say they offer more equipment such as stretch bars, balls, the further you travel the better it gets. Please supply safeguards for the ab equipment as requested 3 weeks ago. Last visit weight swung off the bar due to no safeguards...safety first!!!!

In town for work and looked up this location. This is a top notch PF! The staff were friendly from the door. Plenty of equipment including a few row machines. I topped off with a chair massage.

I went to workout after a long day at work but left my swip card home. Manager insist on me getting my ID. My phone number is associated with a picture of my face. He expressed that he is the manager, I needed my ID and thats policy. Very poor customer service

Disgusting and Dirty! Tanning booths had to be from 1983! They did even work and I lost about 5 minutes of time which they couldnt get me back! 😡😠 Note to ....self wont be back. Should have known by the significant smell of garbage outside that it was going to be a bad time...ugh.

They need to hire another Trainer that knows how to train people.The Person they have now, was training me, and two other people at the same time.One person asked to be trained on Weights, me and another person was not asked whatOur weight goal were, and what would we need help with, he started training both ofUs on weights, even though I told him I had a problem with my legs

The facility is nice but the staff is young and could really use some better customer service skills. Tvs need to be turned on at all times. I shouldnt have to ask a worker if they can be turned on for me and then have to go downstairs and ask again because he didnt do what he claimed he would. Line to check in is long and customers are standing around looking crazy because workers are busy signing up people so we have to wait in long line just to be checked in. Once these things are resolved it could be a better experience. No horn to blow for the loud banging of machines or conversations that people are having on phones or amongst each other..

I signed up 2 months ago. And when I signed up they didn’t tell me when it will open untill after I signed up and even then the date they said t would be open , it still has not open , haven’t receive any access cards or anything. I don’t think it’s right they won’t let us use the other gyms in the mean time with the same sign up from the location. You will have to sign up for a whole new membership at a different location and not use the one you’ve already signed up with .

Management is a bit abrasive. Not conducive to someone just trying to be healthier. Thank God for headphones.

They are a rip off with the promotion and advertisements got charged for a Annual fee2 months after I joined for 41.35 when I joined it was suppose to be for a dollar and the fine prints I didn’t see when I joined online. Additional charges in small prints if it’s even a fine print should be against the law it should be advertised as big as the initial fee and a reminder of such fees should be emailed to all members. Only good thing about this is I will get reimbursed thru my job at the end of year. Stop scheming be upfront with clients. Think I’m going to bing now

I go to this location because of the close proximity to my place. I like that the machines are upgraded and how nice it is inside. But they only have two cardio machines to choose from and they dont have a bigger workout area. Lastly, what steers me from this location is the African and Caribbean men who attend the gym. They spend more time staring at women than they do focusing on working out. So uncomfortable and annoying. Ill go the extra distance to go elsewhere.

They appear to have ironed out most of the wrinkles associated with opening up the facility. There is plenty exercise equipment; clean and in working order as is the locker room and the showers. The basic (Classic) membership price is as good as Ive seen ($1 joining fee, $40 annual fee, $10/mo fee). Parking is free and plentiful. Its been a positive experience so far.jimmythesafe

This place just opened and already got so much negative reviews for a reason,... I saw a commercial on TV stating that you can sign up for $1 and pag $10/month.... which is a lie because this place insisted for me to pay $29 sign up fees and $10/month only... They refused to honor their own marketing campaign for $1 sign up fees.Which made me very concerned also about their monthly fees which can only be deducted directly from checking account.Sounds like another scam, once you sign up it might be a whole new headache trying to cancel.Why lie on your advertisement? Dont trick people about $1 sign up.... your advertisement should just say $29 to sign up and $10/month.... everyone who wants to join your gym can afford $29. Stop the scam.

Staff during the early weekday mornings are very pleasant and appreciative. However, the staff during the weekend mornings are very unpleasant. This morning (1/19/19) a front desk staffer came upstairs to tell me to place my jacket in the locker room as they were not allowed on the gym floor. However, I counted 6 other people upstairs with jackets, scarves, hats, and gym bags all over the gym floor and on top of machines. She singled me out, but did not address the same issue with the other members upstairs. When I approached her about it, she said she will go upstairs to tell them the rule. However, these people have had their items sprawled out on the gym floor when she was up there. I felt singled out and that the rules dont apply to everyone. The staff is very young, inexperienced, and needs proper customer service training.

This is the most unprofessional franchise they have. It does not matter the time of day that I come to this location and no one knows what theyre doing and no one has any idea how to work any of the black card member equipment. The people here have no concept of customer service or customer care. The manager was trying to excuse his staff claiming that there was paranormal activity in the back of the room which is why they couldnt help me..... this isnt what I pay for. I pay the extra money to use those machines. The least they can do is facilitate that .

The stretch room could be bigger, but machine and equipment very nice. Also needs to make repairs to the paper towel machines on 2nd floor as most of them were broken or had no paper towels to use to spray machines down after each use.

This Planet Fitness is the most disgusting one I ever been too, I am a black card member and been one for about 6years. This location has the most unprofessional staff of all time. They seem to be very into talking and laughing with each other rather than the clients. When I called to ask to speak to a manager about a report I wanted to place the employees put me on hold and never came back to the line when I try to call again employees kept hanging up on me. I would never recommend this location to anyone who doesn’t want to be ignore and in an unprofessional experience. Employees Devon Snail, Tatyana,and Amir would be the reason I will never come to this location.
