Love this shop! I havent been here in a while but they still do good work. First time I came here did a vixen sewing and has me looking like a teen again. Recently, I came to start my locs done by Mel and she finessed as usual, quick and the price was reasonable. Will be back with my daughter. Thanks 😊

I love everything about this place. They just dont do braids. They do sewn in, quick weave, crochet, and waves etc... You will not be disappointed. Everyone is so nice and inviting.

Crystal, a beautician at this shop, did a great job with my hair. She has gentle touch and braiding were tight but did not hurt. Ask for her if you ever need a braided style.

Arrived 15mins early for 930 appt for box braids.i was passed between 4 different chairs and 3different stylists and still wasnt finished until 6pm. They repeatedly stopped doing my hair to go to other customers.. quality is sub par my hair is already getting frizzy and my braids are already starting to slide. Will never go back.

Im a very satisfied customer. I used to go there more frequently years ago but now that Ive decided to rock my natural hair, I only go for vacation hairdos now. They are VERY SKILLED with hair. Their weaves arent lumpy and bulky and they leave you with a nice, smooth finished product. Theyre quick with braids as well when there arent a lot of braid customers. The only drawback is the price, but.... you get what you pay for... a nice, polished look that leaves you feeling confident.

Love this place the prices are good. They don’t overcharge most times. Braiders are neat and I don’t feel like they are trying to pull my hair out. I always go with a picture of what I want. I find this much easier then letting stylists freestyle just my opinion. This however can be a way for them to try and overcharge you. That’s why I go with different options.

I had a okay experience the girl who did my hair did a wonderful job beautiful hands down but she keep leaving in the middle of doing my hair when i sat in the chair not even two second and she was out the door but she is very talented my braids didnt take very long i will just get there earlier.. I RECOMMEND ALL TO COME REALLY EARLY FOR A BETTER EXPERIENCE.

Never again! I went there Sat. Feb. 18th & it is now Sun. March 12th for Senegalese twist & my hair looks a mess. My hair looks as if it 2-3 months old. I had braids falling out & unraveling within the 1st 2 weeks & I dont have short hair. The young lady that did my hair shes short small petite had dreads or braids & works in the back on the side of the shop with the windows. She took forever to do my hair. She started approximately 9:30am & finish 4/4:30pm Ive had micro braids done in that time. She kept stopping talking & texting on her phone about what she had to do later & something about an upcoming wedding. Are you kidding me? Ive been to the shop a few times unfortunately I cannot return & continue wasting my money. $120 down the drain... Unbelievable!!!

Mels Pro Braids was a nice experience for me. All stylists are very professional and skilled at transforming braided hair styles. I showed the stylist a picture of what I wanted for my hair and she did a beautiful job. The reason I gave a four star out of five is because there was a little bit of a wait time. If you are very good at what you do, there is a line up..right?...4 and a half stars is my final score....

Best spot hands down. Took real good care of my daughters. Had them looking and feeling amazing. Our new spot for sure.

I’ve been going here for a LONG time. I’m a sophomore in college and have been going here since middle school. Got my box braids done here and Iva does a fast, amazing job along with another lady there but I didn’t catch her name. Melanie (owner) overcharges for hair. Do not expect to pay under $100 for box braids, she charged me $140 for regular size/length box braids.If you have type 4B-4C hair DO NOT let them wash/blow dry it. They tear your hair out with the blow dryer and burn you with the heat of it. Make sure you get there first thing in the morning so you aren’t waiting for hours. Also get there early so only 1 person can start you and finish you, they move from head to head trying to start as many people so they can’t leave. more people=more money.

My experience at Mels Pro braids was good Im not saying it was great Im not saying was bad but it was good Im not really a fan of you getting there first and someone goes in front of you Im not really that much of a fan of that or where they start your hair nickel do someone elses hair and finish your hair later but they braid the hair good I just hate how long it takes if my opinion is that they need a little bit more workers cuz the customers who started the ways there first should always be the first ones to leave not the last ones to leave but in my opinion they braids good but I wish that service was a little bit better

Mels MelPro Hair is very professional and you leave the shop knowing that your hair is in their hands. The staff is friendly, and their has never been an incidence of disrespect. The shop is well maintained at all times and never dirty . I definitely give the shop five stars

Hairstylist seemed preoccupied with something else(possibly an appointment client..I was a walk-in) and wasnt trying hard enough to make the hairstyle look like the picture until I said something about it. In the end she did her best and my daughter liked her hair.

Been going to Mels for years so Im no newbie to this shop. Sadly to say the last few times Ive gotten my hair done,I havent been happy with. So I thought that I would give them the benefit of the doubt and return there again, well after this last time I will no longer be a customer of this establishment. My Senegalese twist are horrible! I wasted $120 for my hair to look like its weeks old already. The twist are not even or smooth looking! Im so disappointed! Mel needs to reevaluate her Braiders. And the one that did my hair is an original...smdh needless to say the sew-ins still slay. But I wont be going back!

My cousin referred me to this place to get my hair braided. Unfortunately, when getting there, I was placed with the seemingly new woman who was still learning. Some of my twists are shorter than others. The owner had to come over and show her how to stretch the hair and COMB out the ends of the marley hair so it doesnt unravel later. Why would a supposed hairstylist (braider, whatever) of hair should be told this? And then she gets frustrated or tired at the end so leaves and another woman (who was nice and patient) had to finish me off. Never again for hair braiding! I must say, after sitting there for 5 hours, I did see some cute weaves and hairstyles coming from the other hairstylists. Good luck...

I got my hair box braided their yesterday 120$ Honestly I Dont think its worth 120$85 or 90 thats it but not 1201. The lady with the short draids shes Good she finished my hair after the lady who was doing my hair leftShes the same late i got their at 9 she came at 11 or 12 then lady that came late she just left in the middle of braiding my hair the lady with the short draids finished itBut you know what Im Glad I Got my hair finished thanks to the lady with the draids

You get exactly what you want, good service and most importantly...they dont braid your edges too tight to where you are bald after braids are taken out.
