Have been seeing Dr. Pettis for several weeks now for an ear infection. My co-pay has been $145 each time. As recently as 4 days ago. Today they did a different method without even saying advising me it was something different. I come out to pay my bill as I always had. The receptionist told me it was over $600. When I asked why it was so much more the receptionist went and spoke to a lady named Edna. Edna came out very Aggressively and said “what’s the deal” I explained I had always paid a significantly lower amount. She then said, “well, the dr did something differently today.” I said that I wasn’t made aware. Edna then loudly said, “well that’s not the Dr’s responsibility to do so.” I said, I would have appreciated a heads up. She said, “well that’s your issue”. I had to tell her I was calmly asking questions and she didn’t need to be aggressive with me for inquiring. She glared at me and walked away. I do not recommend this place. The Dr is nice, my infection still isn’t cleared up and they discharged me before it was, hence why I’m back. I have now spent over $3,000 on an ear infection only to be treated with total disregard from Edna. I cancelled all future appointments. Edna this review is for you and your total disregard for the patients.

Hes a good doctor thats why the 1 extra star but his office staff is the WORST! Very incompetent people. They collect your co-pay payment up front only to later claim that they didnt collect it so they start hammering you with harassing phone calls! Theyve done this to me 3 times! Each time I show them proof that Ive paid, they claim that its a different date this time. The billing department was very rude to me. Im going to file a complaint with my insurance carrier. I dont like being scammed for money! I paid them every single time I went but they love to steal from the ones that are naive.

Dr. Pettis is an excellent doctor. A good doctor will answer all your questions and never suggest invasive procedures without trying less invasive procedures to address certain health issues. He respects his patients, and never tries to rush us out the door because his appointments might be running late. His staff are easy to work with as well and are pleasant.

I had high hopes for this doctor to help with my severe deviated septum. He suggested septoplasty surgery and it went smooth, he assured me I would be able to breathe normal and would have a normal septum. I returned 7 months post surgery and after swelling to discuss another solution since surgery had 0 impact on my breathing and was not effective. Unfortunately this doctor ended up telling me that he can offer a revision surgery but to keep in mind he has only done 2 revisions in his many years of experience and I would be his third ever. He went on to tell me that my hopes of having a normal septum were impossible because he’s not experienced with rhinoplasty (however the best option for my severe deviation) and could only do so much with septoplasty surgery. He brought up how I should reconsider surgery and accept his results. Very disappointing to say the least. I suggest you don’t waste your time with a doctor who takes his pride more serious than his patients satisfaction.

First of, the front desk women speak poorly for Dr. Pettis office. They were rude and did their best to ignore me waiting at the front desk for some time, until I spoke up. They were unprofessional, to say the least.I had an appointment to see Dr. Pettis ; I ended up waiting for 1 hour and 10 minutes and never saw any doctor. I finally left since no one could tell me how much longer I would have to wait. Upon leaving, I had to confirm with the front desk woman (R. ) that I except NO charge to be made to my insurance since I received NO service.I do wonder how an office that has been in business for such a long time only 4-5 ratings? Were all the bad ones eliminated by this office?

Dr. Pettis really cares for the patients. He is a great doctor. I would recommend Dr. Pettis to all of my friends and family members!

Please be aware this doctor’s charges are ridiculously high and don’t belong to his treatment. Doctor Robert M Pettis at Orange Coast Head & Neck Surgery is the worst doctor in OC. He failed to diagnose my daughter’s pimple on her nick. In fact, he made it look worst since he decides to drain it with a needle. The dermatologist who saw after that said he should of never touch it and just treated it from the outside. He claimed to know what he is doing, and we trusted him. He charged us $3k for that 5 minutes in his office. His accounting people know how to rip patients off, too. ( Google needs to allow reviewer to leave zero star)
