I had Lasik performed in June by Dr. Mitchell and from start to finish it was a really great experience. Before the surgery, I was primarily worried about having chronic dry eye following the procedure. I was also concerned about my astigmatism. Dr. Mitchell and his team met with me several times before the surgery and educated me on the possible outcomes of the procedure and made sure I knew exactly what to expect every step of the way. The office staff is very professional and warm. Even though the procedure itself is painless, it is a little overwhelming because of the noise the equipment makes. During one of the louder parts of the procedure, this wonderful nurse reached over and held my hand. I cannot begin to tell you how something so simple and small made such a huge difference. It has been several months since the surgery and I have had ZERO issues. They corrected my astigmatism and my vision is 20/10. I highly recommend Maynor & Mitchell and their team if you are considering Lasik. My experience with them has been top notch.

Dr. Martin…Wow! I took my seven year old son here and the patience she has is breathtaking. I didn’t feel rushed at all as I have been plenty of times with other optometrist here in Huntsville. Children are human beings and they have issues with their eyes as anyone else does. A lot of doctors will dismiss this because they are “kids” but this ENTIRE office was involved with my child. They are so kind and I look forward to having them see my son every year.

So pleasant! They make sure you are comfortable, each face and each practitioner is professional kind and helpful. Dr Mitchell is especially thorough and expert in his field.

This so called doctors office is a farce. You wait 3 weeks to get an appointment. They wait until 4 pm the evening before to confirm the appointment, don’t give you any details or heads up that you will have your eyes looked at and dialated. Then you sit for 3 hours to see a doctor. Got there at 8:30 am for 9 am appointment, they dialated my eyes at 9:30 am and saw the doctor at 11:30 am. Doctors seem to forget we are customers first and pay for a service. I fired them and wouldn’t recommend taking a sheep to see them, because I’m no sheep.

Dr. Ramsey was impatient and not thorough. He wouldn’t allow me to discuss my symptoms. He did a very quick look inside my eyes. Asked if I had questions, and I said I did, but he brushed me off and was out the door. The two stars were for the kind reception staff and the very patient nurse who worked with me.

The staff was amazing to provide the urgent medical attention I needed regarding an accidental eye injury. The Covid safety protocols in place kept me safe and well. I went to see Dr. Ramsey for my right eye issue of swelling and tearing. He is so thorough at his job that he discovered that I had a Retina Tear that needed immediate attention. His office got me in to see a specialist that evening and I had a laser procedure to repair the tear at 4pm. The specialist said that I was just a moment away from a complete detachment.

Appointment was at 10:30. It is now 11:47 and still have not seen the doctor. If you find you want to waist half your day sitting in a dark waiting room with horrible channel info-merials then this is the place to do so.

Dr. Baxter and the whole staff were nice and answered all my questions. I would recommend them to anyone.

Absolutely love Dr. Vandiver. Which he sent me to Dr. Mitchell @ Maynor and Mitchell Eye Center. Dr. Mitchell removed my cataracts in both eyes. He is very professional with great ethics, my surgery was done and in appx 2 hours, and he sends you to lunch, then returned back at his office at 12:00(**that was my time, it may be different for other patients **) . He likes to Ck and see the eye to make sure surgery went good and no complications. I have been in glasses since I was 10 years old, with the cataracts removed from both eyes I am now seeing 20/10 and 20/15 in my eyes! I was so much the colors of things were so different, so vibrant and pretty.I no longer did not have halos, I realized they were only one thing I was looking at, which was a good thing. I did not know what to think it took a minute for my brain to comprehend that I no longer needed glasses to see distance.I will always have to wear glasses to read, but I am amazed at the quality of work and how How easy it was to have the surgery to see just how things look, how clear I could see things, without having to wear contacts or glasses not to mention developing and having cataracts.. I was told by my regular doctor; Dr. Vandiver in Athens, Having cataract surgery is almost 100% correction; where optional Lasix surgery to correct far vision is only temporary and Then you have to wear glasses or contacts or are to have Lasix to be re-done , usually in 10-20 years. I was never able to afford having the Lasix surgery (because it is considered a cosmetic surgery) so I wore contacts and glasses all my life! When I developed cataracts I did not understand why I could not see In my correction glasses/ contacts that I was used to wearing. When Dr. Mitchell done my surgery, let me REMIND you it was in and out, within four hours I was seeing (almost ) perfect, I had very minimal swelling and the next day at my check up (Dr. Vandiver) My swelling was almost completely down, which even amazed my regular eye doctor. Dr. Vandiver , even helped me out with some really expensive eye drops by giving me a couple of samples( with my RX INSURANCE COST ME $70.00 out of pocket.) I found Dr. Mitchell to be very professional, caring, and very informative. He is not one of the doctors that just does the work and then rushes you out of his office. He took his time, he done the job, and he made sure my eyes were healthy before he discharged me. Dr. Mitchell did NOT PROMISE ME THAT I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET TO A PERFECT EYE SIGHT……however, even though he did not promise he did tell me that he would do his best for me to see clearly, Now I can perfect better than perfect (in MY OPINION) I could not be any help happier! I Highly, highly recommendDr. Mitchell’s service. He will take care of you no matter what your circumstances are!!THANKS TO DR. MITCHELL NO MORE EXPENSIVE PROGRESSIVE LENSES OR EXPENSIVE CONTACTS, even if he did not promise that, he done a great job with the surgery, and my eyes are brighter, and healthier!…. This place is FANTASTIC. My doctor is Dr. Salter. He recently saved me from blindness. Because of multiple health issues and drug allergies, I had to have eye surgery wide awake, with only local anesthetic. He was so GENTLE and compassionate... We got through both surgeries free of any complications.His staff are some of the warmest loveliest people. Ive dealt with all of them at one point or another - med refills, scheduling, on call on weekends - theyre so fantastic.Being chronically ill means you see LOTS of doctors. I recently had cataracts removed from both eyes. They have the nicest and friendly people working there. I felt like a real person not a number. They called on the Monday after my surgery to see how I was doing and if I had any questions. Dr. Mitchell was very nice and friendly. I felt comfortable with doing the surgery. I would recommend them for cataract removal.

After years of wearing contacts I finally got up the courage to get LASIK surgery. Dr. Ramsey did my surgery last year and I couldn’t be happier with the results! Everyone who works in their office is super nice and made the surgery and the whole process so easy. I can’t recommend them enough. My only regret is that I didn’t have it done sooner.

The facility was nice with ample parking and the interior was calm, quiet and somehow not too bright. From the first young lady who greeted me to the final one who wrapped up my appointment information, everyone had the perfect blend of personality and professionalism. The business Maynor&Mitchell does what it is suppose to do in regards to my condition, which to me rates a 3-Star. I gave it an extra star because the Dr listened to what I wanted done during my visit. I do not know all the possible services offered, so based on my experience they do their job!

A year ago I had lasik surgery done by Dr. Ramsey so I wouldnt have to wear my glasses at my wedding. It was a wedding shower gift from my mom. (Im allergic to contacts) and it has been the best thing I haves ever done (besides marrying my best friend)

My wife & I went to Maynor & Mitchell yesterday for eye exams. My normal eye Dr charges only a $20 copay. I thought I would try this place to help me get back to wearing contacts, trying a different brand. My eye Dr told me that wouldn’t matter but it was worth a try. M&M up charged us and we had to pay $410 when we checked out. They should have informed me of all the extra charges when we got there so we could have left. Contacts are NOT at all that important. I should not have paid it. That was ridiculous. I will not return. I will not recommend them. Get your prices upfront if you go there!

I was referred here 12 years ago by the researchers at the Wilmer Eye Clinic in Birmingham. I have a great team of physicians in this practice.

Surgery 3-4 years ago, will never go back. Cannot recommend.Bad Cataracts, Really wanted Lasik. They wanted the money.They shouldnt have performed due to Fuchs Dystropy. Staff was rude. I wont say they lied but stretched the truth about low interest financing. They also had a discount agreement with Dynetics which they didnt mention or even honor; oh you came in on the wrong side of the business. Yes, wish I hadnt come in. Almost $5000 later, Ive never had the results they stated. Now I may never get full use of one eye. Still needed glasses. They only should have done cataract removal and lens replacement. Buyer Beware.

Dr. Mitchell is the cream of the crop. He truly cares never being satisfied with anything less than perfect. The staff are friendly and helpful. Waiting time can vary but I dont mind waiting for a doctor who will give you the absolute best treatment.

Ive only gone once and wont be back. The appointment was pretty normal, but I had to wait 45 minutes and the place is huge - its like a cattle call. What clinched it though is the billing. I dont have vision insurance, just BC/BS and got an eye checkup and glaucoma screening back in June 2017. Paid my copay at the door, then... nothing. Finally got a bill for $80 in February or March, then another for $49 JUNE 2018. That is a pretty ridiculous timeframe, and it has not been my experience with past providers.

I have gone to Maynor & Mitchell for a while. I never know who my doctor is going to be there when I go. I have had 4 so far. If you have something like an eye infection, dont bother calling. It will take a week to get in. I complained about this one time and the Doctor told me to call and he would just prescribe medicine on the phone. Tried that, they wouldnt do it, week to get in. On just a normal checkup appointment, prepare for long waits. They are not very good with scheduling.

I was Talked into paying thousands extra for Lasik and implants on top of my cataract surgery, have now lost 25% of my vision after 2 corrections. Then told they cant correct the problem detected by a later test. Be VERY careful of their promises.!!!!!!
