Actually Ive had a great experience with tvpc with the exception of the first Nurse Practitioner they had me with. Thank goodness I had to reschedule an appointment and had a great Nurse Practitioner, who is so sweet and understanding. But overall Id say, also with the high, high prices, but overall I definitely recommend. As long as you can find the right Nurse Practitioner that works for you.

Hey guys. Doctor said they can’t treat nerve pain. “Take some vitamins.” Too bad there isn’t something like google to ask this stuff. Some people spend years looking for doctors to help them try to live a normal life somewhat pain free. Well I’m here to tell anyone looking at these reviews that these guys are “not” the ones. They might treat high priority clients with “old Huntsville money” but not the small fries. If you have disability insurance FORGET GOING HERE! Terrible way to treat people who have epilepsy and have to have someone drive them to see you. I witnessed the whole thing and I will spread the word about the way you do business and will let God judge the rest. May God have mercy on your corrupt souls. Please take pain consultants out of your name. You won’t help a lady try to feel better but that smiling lady with the Lexus looked mighty happy leaving your office. Can’t hide money or greed!

I have been at patient of Dr Kraus for over 2 years. The level of care I’ve received from both him and his team of nurses has been excellent! They have done such a great job in keeping my pain level tolerable. I would, and have recommended them many times to others. There are not enough words to express my gratitude to them.

Staff was negligent to send documents repeatedly to insurance carrier resulting in denied claims. As a chronic person in pain, it was near incompetence documenting, completing call backs, or understanding of the process for patients. If you can go somewhere else, do that.

Facilities were clean. parking deck was packed. Check-in service wasnt unfriendly. Wait from appointment time until actually being called back to room was an hour and a half. Nursing staff was excellent, very competent & very friendly! Once prepared for procedure, the process went rapidly... I was taken to the procedure room on the half hour, was unconscious in about five minutes, & thirty minutes later Im waking in recovery to the excellent nursing staff.

This was my first visit to Tennessee Valley Pain Consultants. I found the staff to be highly professional, compassionate, and great listeners. In particular, I was impressed with Nurse Practitioner Amy. She made me feel at home and carefully documented my symptoms and medical history. She explained some of procedures that were offered by the Tennessee Pain Consultants, but recommended an MRI as the first step in establishing a course of care. I must admit that I was a bit apprehensive at first, but I quickly found comfort with Nurse Practitioner Amy’s manner and professionalism. This is a great Medical Center for those of us that are aging and have developed increasing discomfort as a result.

I am researching the care of African Americans who may have had my experience DM me on Facebook. really didn’t know much about going to see a doctor that delt with pain management. Maybe my hopes where up to high. I felt that each time I have gone, I felt I was being treated in one category as everyone else. I was hurting and I wasn’t treated by or with nothing. The second time spinal block, unfortunately it did not help me. I dont think the doctor that I am seeing Dr. Gant, are not compassionate with his parents pain. My next visit they told me nothing was wrong and they would not be seeing me anymore. I sm referring to Tennesse Valley pain constant. I am seeking help else were but I am going to blast them for their ignorance. African Americans have good money too!!! Don’t judge us like you do. It really shows how well educated people can also be ignorant. I am reading reviews, had l known it was rated low , l would have gone somewhere else. The doctor couldn’t even look at me neither did jeff. Two wrongs don’t make a right!! DM me if you felt judged in anyway.

I woke up in extreme pain, they had pierced the artery during the cervical epidural as was bleeding into the spinal canal and the pressure from the blood was causing my spinal cord to fight for space. Told them I needed a doctor and they kept insisting I was fine and needed to go home and lay down. Insisted on a doctor and was told there wasnt one there to see me I had to do home. Long story short I nearly lost my life due to a spinal hematoma 16 inch scare 7 level laminectomy. All this due to a staff person and a doctor late for a golf date or lack of belief that I was in serious pain and about to die. Rethink who is working on you ,the only thing they did from that point forward is try to get me off the patient list

Dr. Collins is my doctor. I have never experienced any problems at the Tennessee Valley Pain Center. The staff is excellent! I have been a patient there for several years. That was 2 months ago and they still have not gotten me back in, took 8 phone calls to get someone to a least give me some clue as to what’s taking so long but still waiting. If you see someone they are great but don’t be in any hurry on getting relief from your pain!!!Update: The staff have been the most unfriendly I have ever dealt with at any office. Rude is an understatement! I finally got my first injection that worked great over 3 mo ago and now they cant even find me in the system for my second appointment. Tried calling and was disconnected 3 times, 4th call I ask for office manager only to be refused. Entire staff should be fired as clearly they dont like their jobs.

One of the worst Nurse Practitioners Ive ever had the displeasure of meeting. Her name was Amy. She was inconsiderate and continued to have a tone throughout the entire consult whilst continuing to raise her voice. The overall lack of sympathy and compassion was horrendous and greatly upsetting. She continued to be standoffish and whenever I showed concern about my medication and tried to express the deep pain I was in, due to the fact that I have multiple cysts and discs within my spine and suffer from extreme headaches and anxiety. She continued to verbally assault me insisting on the injections without allowing me to ask questions or speak. When I informed her as to the fact that I would be getting my first Covid-19 vaccine, she told me that I would have to wait 5-6 weeks before getting said procedure. When I asked her what I should do if and when I ran out of pain medication, she brushed me off and lazily suggested anti-inflammatories. This showed that she was not listening to me, as I had said multiple times before that I could not take any NSAIDs or prednisone due to a gastric sleeve surgery I had. I have suffered multiple heart-attacks as well as many health problems, and other traumatic and stress inducing experiences, such as a mother living with me and passing away. I tried to tell her that the stress of managing our large farm and taking care of my child and our business was very stressful and that my anxiety medication was needed, she scoffed and mocked me saying, Well I have a farm and kids... as if to prove a point and insult me. When I asked her if she was in fact 52 and doing that? She had no response.

Veterans beware! VA Choice scheduled me to go here. TVPC tried to schedule me for 30 days out, which is the reason VA Choice exists, so we dont have to wait 30 days to see a Doctor. When talking to Patty about the appt., I informed them that the reason for Veterans Choice was so Veterans could see a Dr within 30 days and that the wait was actually shorter to see the VA Doctor. TVPC contacted the VA and made sure that they told the VA several times what was said, even though the comments were sarcastic and not accurate. The following statement is now in my Permanent VA Medical records. Per Patty at Tenn Valley pain patient stated That if he had to wait then he would be better off buying his meds in the project. I spoke to TVPC today and was told that it doesnt matter what I say or how it was said, it will be documented. Veterans have enough problems getting the meds we need from the VA due to the Opioid Safety Initiative as well as trying to get proper health care. We really dont need the help of Tennessee Valley Pain Consultants making sure the VA documents that Veterans are drug addicts or buy illegal drugs.

Dr Scherlis and his nurse practitioner, Michelle Cobble, take fantastic care of my father. They are kind, professional, and knowledgeable. They give my dad such personal care and treat him with kindness, respect, and compassion. Their entire office is friendly and kind and he loves going there. Everytime I take him there, he raves about how nice everyone is to him. He is elderly, and not every doctor’s office is as patient and kind to him as they are. It’s refreshing that he’s not just a “number” there, but they know him by name. He goes there for spinal injections for chronic back pain and they have been a lifesaver for him. At 58 years I was seriously considering medical retirement. Degenerative arthritis in the lower back had reduced my height two inches, inflammation affected surrounding tissues causing intense muscle spasms and torn muscles. For years I’d taken pain drugs, but could no longer tolerate reduced mental capabilities at work (Analyst). I was referred to Tennessee Valley Pain Consultants and was amazed by the effectiveness of the shots, which were 90-100%. I did not retire until age sixty nine. I continue to enjoy my treatments in retirement, performing household chores such as lawn cutting, trimming and edging. My recreation includes boating/fishing, walking for exercise, and several week-long SCUBA diving trips per year. Dr. John Roberts has provided all my treatments through the years and I make it a point each trip to tell him he changed my life and is my Hero.

I have been going to Dr. Scherlis for 20 years. When I first started going a neurologist referred me to him for some tests. When he gave me the results he said he could help me but he wanted the neurologist to refer me for treatment that he would not take a patient away from another doctor. That showed me that he respected the other doctor. My first visit after that I was given a prescription. When I went back he suggested an epidural. After the epidural did not give me much relief he said there was no need to do the epidural if they werent going to work. I was treated the next 3 years with medication. He suggested maybe we could try the epidural again. The decision was mine after he explained everything to me. I have had epidurals regularly since then. I see his Nurse practitioner Amy Harbin monthly. She is great. She talks to you about your pain level and if I get any relief from the meds or how much relief I got from the procedures. When I get my procedures Dr Scherlis is fantastic. He comes in and talks to you and he makes me feel he is truly concerned if what they are doing is helping me. Dr. Scherlis has helped me when I was fighting breast cancer and chemo, and many surgeries. At this time, I have to get the epidurals and nerve blocks regularly for degenerative disc and pain from scar tissue. I have recommended Dr. Scherlis to many people. I know I have the best pain doctor in this town. I have read the bad reviews and I have never experienced any of the issues they have brought up. The desk personnel has always been very polite and friendly. He has a nurse, Connie that is absolutely fantastic. Many times I have gone in feeling down but they always reassure me that they have the best treatments in mine for me. Apparently nothing has changed so I will not complete my app. We were so hungry, exhausted and in so much pain by the time we got back to the car, we both got in and just started crying. Neither of up are criers but thats how bad the place affected up both. She never went back.

I have been going here for close to 4 years. When I first went in I was in extreme pain. They set me up with an injection appt very quick and when those did not work very well DR Scherlis did not give up and tried another form of treatment to help and they have helped me more than anything.Dr Scherlis and Amy are very caring and have been great to me everytime I see them. The office staff are always nice and very respectful.I would not trust anyone other than Amy and DR Scherlis to help with my pain.

I’ve been a patient of TVPC for a few years. I was seen by NP Greg. He listened to my issues addressed all concerns I had and put a game plan together. He was very respectful and professional. He seemed to genuinely care and show concern for my issues.Greg set me up to meet with Dr. Scherlis. Dr. Scherlis is my kind of doctor. He’s serious but also has a good sense of humor. He doesn’t tell you what you want to hear but what you need to hear. He listened to me and my problems and came up with a course of action (injections) to treat my ailments. I not a fan of needles but he made it quick and almost pain free. It was by far the best treatment option for me. If I ever need pain management again I won’t hesitate call Dr. Scherlis. The whole staff makes you feel welcomed. I’ve read reviews saying “people here are rude” well you get what you give. Yes the wait times can be long and the lobby full but that to me is a sign of a staff doing something right. I would highly recommend Dr. Scherlis, NP Greg Gore or any of the capable staff at TVPC if you are looking to treat and manage your pain. Once again thank you TVPC for helping me.

The nurses and doctors are great. The reason for one star is the office managers who set appointments. Why do you schedule so many people to be at suite 310 when you good and well know how many seats are in that office! So doesnt it make sense to try and keep people away from each other so the spread of germs is kept minimal? You have eight chairs in that room yet you schedule 20 patients at a time? Whomever thinks that is an acceptable policy needs to find another job. You also work in a pain clinic you know patients do not come alone! Five other patients said the same thing about this practice. So 50 minutes past an appointment time, because they schedule to many people, for the same appointment time. So I rescheduled my appointment and then had a thought why cant I just pick up what I need on my procedure day. So I call back to wait 20 minutes for someone to answer the phone just to cancel an appointment. I know they could give two cents if they lost a patient. We are just like cattle to them there are always more to replace, always someone to take your place. If you like long waits and incompetent scheduling this is the place for you.

Been there twice - both times I didnt see the prescribed doctor until AT LEAST an hour after the appointment time (not counting my consistently early arrival time). Once you get in to see the doctors, they are great. Then after you see them, they gave me a prescription (both times) to fill at my local pharmacy - the first time it didnt arrive until the day after the appointment. This time, it is the day after the appointment, they are closed, and wont get the prescription filled for at least 2 more days. Only thing saving their bacon is that they are the only game in town. If at all possible go elsewhere - you will waste a lot of time, and they will take care of you whenever they feel like getting around to it. :( Edit: It has now been 4 days and still no prescription. Downgraded review to 1 star.

Was a patient of Dr Collins for years. Had a lot of blocks. Last visit I was givin a drug test. Failed for something I have never touched. The cup they gave me didn’t have my name on it. I was terminated. I don’t think I should have been. Thinking about getting a lawyer and fighting it. They messed my urine up with someone else’s. NOT HAPPY

FIVE STARS, but WAIT TIME I’m revising from my initial ZERO stars I noted before to 3 stars for wait time. Dr. Gantt is wonderful! His CRNP Heather is FABULOUS (unfortunately Heather is no longer there). This is a very clean, professional staff and office for the most part. Front office staff is typically very friendly. I drive an hour nearly to this practice.Update 12/25/2019: it seems the “wait time issue has been addressed for now. The last several times I have visited, I waited less than an hour before being seen! Thank you to whomever seems to be getting this under control.—————————————————————-The rest of my previous review from 2018 follows for FYI only...I had given them 5 stars for their practice but noted zero stars for the wait time, per below. I’ve revised it above and giving them 3 stars for wait and keeping the 5 overall for the practice.Evidently after reading consistent posts from others about multi-hours long wait times, nothing has been done. The only reason I continue to come is because I like the practice. If waiting for hours (Ive waited four before but typically at least 2 hours every time to even be called back and then often I wait another hour once back.) only happened infrequently, Id not be extremely frustrated about it. Seeing that this is a consistent problem with scheduling and others are waiting hours in a literally packed waiting room and its still an issue, certainly makes me think that the gracious feedback being given by others to help the office manager improve the practice means nothing to them and the replies promising to take care of things are evidently empty words. Please do something about hours of wait time besides just Im sorry, Ive shared your concerns. Words without actions to correct the problem are just as frustrating. Feedback, even if negative, is a gift. People dont have to give it, but its an opportunity for you all to offer patients a complete positive experience and not one just limited to doctors, CRNPs and front office staff. Besides, arent you the least bit frustrated at your ratings and reviews? Come on! You all are better and more professional that that.

I also need to add dr roberts has done more for me and my pain than anyone i hav ever been to. He doesnt just push pills on u but he has done so many different injections and blocks and other procedures to find wat works best for me as an individual. Cant say enough good things about this office. By the way i hav numersous things wrong with me and he has helped all of them.

I’ve had knee pain for years. Had steroid injections that finally didn’t help much anymore. But instead of having to see an orthopedic doctor and starting over as a new patient I was able to get Supartz injections at TVPC. Dr. Roberts has done neck epidurals for me for years and he did the knee injections. I am finished with the series now and have greatly reduced pain and much better range of motion.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Gantt (for Fibromyalgia pain) and staff yesterday. First, when I was taken back by a nurse, I was told I would be seeing Kristy (nurse practitioner), not Dr. Gantt. I told the nurse that I was told, when the appointment was made, I was told that I would be seeing Dr. Gantt. The general nurse and nurse practitioner were only worried about my bipolar meds, because they showed up on the urine specimen. The nurse who administers the urine test, opened the door to my room and then shut the door because she was scared of my service dog (I cannot be the only client with a service dog) and they had to find a nurse to come in and give me the urine specimen cup. After seeing the nurse practitioner, Dr. Gantt came in. He said they dont treat Fibromyalgia, unless it is just injections into the muscles, and he was willing to schedule that without doing any MRIs, X-Rays, etc. He also told me I needed to come off my bipolar meds and my Fibromyalgia meds and just keep a pain journal.I will never be back to this facility, and I highly recommend if you can go to another facility that you do. All they want to do is give you injections or blocks. Definitely not up my alley without any proof those are needed.

The front desk and nursing staff is the best thing about this place. Constantly in pain even after spine injections, sucks. Last doctor did spine injections and they didn’t help so I didn’t understand why they would also continue with them. I just try to manage the pain the best I can while looking for new pain management doctor. Very disappointed.

I called & again I was on the phone 4 awhile. I tried to change my appointment(I have an appointment tomorrow at 9:30)to the end of the month(budgeting reasons) no return call or anything. I would love to speak to a manager in the morning as soon as possible. Hopefully I can get an appointment at the end of the month, without any problems or having to wait another month to get in.

I would not recommend this office to anyone.....I was seeing another doctor and for insurance reasons I had to stop seeing him and find another doctor. I found Tennessee Valley Pain Consultants and called. I found out what I needed to do so I had my previous doctor send my medical records and I called and got the information and waited for someone to call me back. I was told that I was waiting to find out if I was going to be accepted to this office. Three and a half weeks later I had still not heard anything so I called back and I was told that I was still waiting to find out if I was to be accepted. About a week later a young lady called me and told me that I had an appointment to come in which was another month later. I went in and found at that point the appointment was for a personality test to find out if I was going to be accepted???? At this point I asked to speak to an office manager or someone in charge. After waiting for 15 to 20 minutes a nurse comes out and acts like she is lost in space. She was absolutely no help....Were at two months now I have stopped seeing my other doctor and now I dont have the other doctor and I dont know whether Im going to be accepted at Tennessee Valley Pain Consultants..... Their office staff is a mess I would not recommend this office to anyone!!

I have been coming here for years and although there was a wait time in the lobby my actual appointment was pretty quick. But I have to say that the last 4 or 5 appointments I have had ,has had me arriving mad and leaving mad . It has more to do with the parking deck than anything else . I always arrive 30 minutes early in case there is a traffic problem since I live in moulton and have to drive so far. Thankfully I do ,because I have been having to go up and down that parking deck 3 times to find a parking space along with at least 5 or more other cars. Plus there is really not a safe way to turn around on the top or bottom of this deck and we pay $ 2.00 to be ill. What would happen if I was late for my appointment because I couldnt park anywhere? Why would you not have a way to keep people from coming in, if the deck is full? Come on now as tech savvy as the world is now this should not be an issue. Please address this problem. Thank you.

Rude staff! Bethanny, one of their schedulers hung up on me. I called back to confirm whether I was disconnected or not, and she blatantly confirmed she hung up on me. She claimed I had several no shows which was not accurate, however I was not able to discuss that. She was extremely rude with no provocation. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she replied sure, and put me on hold then hung up again. I finally spoke to an alleged supervisor, and was given a non-convincing I will talk to her This promped me to look at their reviews and not to my suprise there is a recurrent pattern of rude and condescending staff interactions. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Its a shame when a practice is ruined by substandard employees. TVPC, I am not interested in being contacted about my experience. Your not sorry, or you would have made administrative changes for the first 82 negative reviews. I will look elsewhere for treatment.

I am a patient here at this facility. My Dr is on the 4th floor Ive been a patient here since my back surgery . They do back procedures example epidural, hip joint inj. , sciatic nerve blocks. I do recommend this facility. The Dr. and nurses have always been easy to talk to and for me to receive the best treatment for my pain. They also will put you to sleep during the procedures.
