TOC is a excellent office to visit. The doctors care about their patients and spends time to answer questions. Does not seem to be on a timer to visit with patients.

All the employees I met were five star rated. They were professional, helpful and friendly. Dr Carter took his time explaining was was wrong after examining me. He had to give me a shot in my neck and told me everything he was doing and why he was doing it. I will go back and use him even though he is about an hour away. I have told someone they need to try using him for her problems.

I have been to Dr. Carter two times after a on the job injury. The first time I saw him he did a few lifting of my leg and felt my foot. He was in the exam room approximately 5 minutes. He never allow me to fully describe the issues I was having. He simply ordered a nerve study and told me that I could return to work in a seated duty job. I felt that maybe he was having a bad day and let it go.My second visit was today. Again Dr. Carter was in the room about 5 minutes and he still didn’t listen to my symptoms or allow me to ask questions or express my concerns. When he walked out of the room he said he would be right back but never did. His assistant came to the door and told me I could go. So again I didn’t get full details of what’s going on with my foot, leg & back. When my workmen’s comp nurse came to me I asked for clarification. She told me that the nerve study he did was inconclusive and he would order a MRI but in the meantime I could do light duty work. My nurse did go back and speak with him and came back to stay that he felt I could stand for long periods of time(hard to do when you have no feeling on the inner part of my foot and tremendous pain in the foot leg & back. She asked did I want to talk to him again and of course I did. His assistant put me in a room and asked what I wanted and I explained to her that I wanted clarification on what’s going on. Dr. Carter did come in very aggressively and said what’s the problem. I was trying to explain to him that I could not stand on my foot for over 15 to 20 minutes without being in terrible pain and his assistance says well of course you’re gonna have pain you have to push thru it. I did raise my voice at her ( I have a hearing problem and when I get frustrated and multiple people are talking my tone automatically go up, it’s not that I am really yelling I just can’t hear myself) and Dr. Carter jumped down my throat while shaking his hand at me. Never in my life have I been talked to so disrespectful from any physician’s I have gone to in my 57 years.I have asked my workmen’s comp to assign me with a different doctor as I feel I gave him two chances to sit and discuss with me exactly what’s going on and a plan to get me on the right track. I have been in constant pain for 3 months and so far he’s done nothing to help relieve the pain. For three months I have walked with the assistance of crutches and have been in physical therapy that was ordered thru Dr. Sabitini (who’s been wonderful) but those orders ended last week and Dr. Carter says I don’t need PT and to wean myself off the crutches without any professional guidance! Wow. Never again will I go to him and you can be certain that if anyone asks my opinion of him I definitely will not recommend him.

Apparently I was not seeing the same doctor as some of these reviews. He was very minimal with assessment and dismissed patient of not having a reason to be in pain, just because he didnt know why. Very disappointed.

**update on latest issue** do NOT rely on his staff!!!!!!!!We are blessed to have an Allstate policy (like AFLAC). His staff has had paperwork that must be signed by M.D. for over 6 weeks!!!! They have lost it twice and when we call we get the obligatory, he has it and you should get it back in a few days.... FOR 6 WEEKS!!!! This is the $$ we need to do the PT Dr. Carter recommended over 8 weeks ago and his staff seems unable to take care of their part. We cant be the first patients with Insrance policies that reimburse for epidurals, MRIs, and appts related to an injury!!!!!! We have NEVER had this much difficulty with a physicians office before. AllState has called wishing to process claim they started 12 weeks ago and even they are Appalled at the lack of care and attention this office offers. We WILL be changing doctors only because of this incapable staff..... we NEEDED this money and have waited entirely too long for lost paperwork and a signature.....when this issue is resolved I will update review to reflect, until then, I, as a nurse, will continue to make sure that word of mouth keeps people from this doc and his staff.*** AVOID this office!!!The doctor and experience have been AMAZING! His professionalism and care have been spot on. His staff,.... not so much. My husband has a herniated disc. He saw this doc on 4/22 and on 4/29. He was given Tramadol to assist with pain on 4/22. To be taken BID PRN.Thats 14 pills. (Walmart will only allow 1 weeks worth). We called 4/30 to get a refill land they said they would.... no meds at pharmacy....called back and they supposedly resent to pharmacy, we went back, no meds.....Called 5/1 same thing but lady spoke with said they are there, she called my husband back and assured him they werethere (very kind and sweet).......nope, pharmacist said no email, no fax nothing. He made 2 trips to the pharmacy with NO prescription there. It is now 5/2..... no pain meds. He has been in excruciating pain for 3 days with no relief in site. He is NOT allowed to take an NSAID as he has an epidural scheduled tomorrow. At this point he is VERY upset, hurting and wont call them back. He feels it will do no good as 4 phone calls have been made with NO Tramadol called back in, 4 trips to the pharmacy and No Tramadol. He got 14 pills to last him over 2 weeks for a herniated disc at C6 and C7. He did his part, no working as ordered, took the pills only twice a day as prescribed, (even when he was still hurting and wanted more). He has been met with aggravation and no progress. As a medical professional I want to make him feel better and rely on other nurses to do this. They have failed him and he now has to suffer because they cant seem to figure out how to get a prescription of Tramadol to a pharmacy......... He wishes he had gone somewhere else. Again, the doctor is awesome..... I am guessing his patients go there bc of pain, somewhere in their body. They didnt help!!!!!! I HATE seeing him in pain and knowing that I can do nothing and they arent capable of doing anything. Someone messed up somewhere and he, the patient has to suffer because we chose this doctor.*update* meds were finally sent and we were able to pick them up today 5/3. I Increased the rating from 3 to 4 stars bc the doc was great and he should not be penalized bc of a subpar staff. I am NOT a complainer but seeing a loved one in pain and having no luck resolving is frustrating. I respect this is a large business with a large patient volume but when a patient gets lost in the shuffle it is not acceptable. I thank the staff for finally getting his meds there BUT I am saddened it took so long for a resolution. 4 days of pain at a 9 on numeric scale is inexcusable......
